Continued 5900 Ulta Problems

Ok,
I didn't hear much about my image quality problems, so I assume I must be pretty much alone in that issue.
However, I am starting to have other issues as well:
I have the setup listed below, and I have run into the following issue no matter what drivers I try (nVidia, MSI):
Whenever I switch video modes (resolution specifically), video out is turned off (i.e., picture disappears). If I reboot the machine I get it back, but I get nothing until I do.
Has anyone ever run into this problem or know how to fix it?
Any help would be appreciated.

I should add that I have the following problem as well:
No games will run at all. If I run them I get a message stating that there is not enough video memory (or the game just dies).
I don't know if it is useful or not, but here are my IRQ settings. Do they look Ok?
Any other thoughts?

You need to delete some files. Many posters to these forums state that you need much more free space: 5 gig to 10 gig or 10 percent of you hd size.

Be careful when deleting files. A lot of people have trashed their system when deleting things. Place things in trash. Reboot & run your applications. Empty trash.
Go after large files that you have created & know what they are. Do not delete small files that are in a folder you do not know what the folder is for. Anything that is less than a megabyte is a small file these days.

I use free Yahoo mail webMail access because folders I created in webmail access doesn't get set up in Apple Mail. While I was searching for post about password and keychain issues, I stumbled on several threads that complain about Mail folder issues, so I'm holding off on Apple Mail.
On the password and keychain issue that your post is all about. I've been using login keychain to save and automatical fill my login screens for a year or so successfully, with Safari and Chrome. Automatic form fill also works for Facebook login. Unfortunately, about 4 to 6 months ago, automatic password form fill stopped working with Yahoo webmail, while still worked for GMail (Safari and Chrome). I tried deleting the password entry for my two Yahoo email accounts to start fresh, but neither Safari not Chrome will even ask me if I want to save the password. I was so frustrated that I eventually installed the keypassX 0.43 (password manager) that is quite primitive sompare to OS X's keychain (when it works). Probably no surprise to you yet.
The surprise, to me at least, is that, for whatever reason, password auto form-fill from keychain started working again for Yahoo webmail login on Safari about 5-7 days ago. Still doesn't work on Chrome!
Two tips I can share, at least with webmail access:
1. Password is save only for one of my yahoo mail accounts. When I login in with my other yahoo account, I get no prompt to save the password, and form fill doesn't work when I try to log in a second time with my other Yahoo mail account.
2. On inspection of my login keychain, I see a webform password item saved for my Yahoo account that works with keychain. The name of the password is: login.yahoo.com(MyAccountName1#). When I open the password item and look in the Access Control tab, I see Safari and Chome are listed as allowed to access this password item..
I also an "Internet password" item with a name of just login.yahoo.com. When I open the the password item, it looks just like the password item created for MyAccountName#1, but the MyAccountName#2 is listed in the Account field. Inside the Access Control tab, no apps are listed in access permission. I added Safari and Chrome to the lists of allowed app, saved the password item.
Now when I bring up the Yahoo login page(by bookmark) on Safari, form fill fills in MyAccountname#1 for name and the proper password and I can login in. When I change the name to MyAccountName#2, the correct password is retrieved and I can log in! Alas, it still doesn't work on Chrome.
BTW, I changed the password item type from "Internet password" to "Web Form password" and saw no difference! I also edited the name to be "login.yahoo.com (MyAccountName#2)" to look like the web form password item that works, but it has no effect either.
From my experimentation, here's my observation:
1. A Web Form password item is created for the first account name(MyAccountName#1) for login.yahoo.com and typed as Web Form password. When I log in using MyAccountName#2, an Internet Password is created, but no applications are listed as allowed to access the password item, even when the password item was created after just logged in and logged out to yahoo with the account name and password for MyAccountName#2.
2. Manually adding Safari as an app that is allowed to use the password item works. Doesn't work with Chrome!
The version of Safari I'm using is Version 5.1.7 (6534.57.2). My installed version of Chrome is Version 21.0.1180.79 beta.

Continuing Kernal Panic Problem

Since my previous post - http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1153209 - I regret that I continue to get the dreaded 'Kernal Panic' and minor HDD corruption.
After taking out the Factory Installed RAM and leaving the new Crucial 512 mb card in seemed to work for a while but the problem persists making the eMac almost unusable.
I wonder if something is loading up with the 'System' on start up and is screwing around with things. I still get the minor disc error and Disk Warrior reports a particular file with strange Chinese looking characters in the name as being damaged beyond repair. Unfortunately DW won't let me copy the report so I may post it here. Something about text encoding.
I would try to find the file and move it elsewhere in case it is a .plist file that gets re-written but it's invisible and in Chinese so I can't just type its name to locate it. I'm not sure if this file is the problem anyway. It may have resulted from the problem, if you get my gist.
The HDD has been checked over numerous times with TechTool Pro 4 and Disk Warrior. The former programme has been used to do a 'surface scan' of the HDD on three occasions and has never found any 'bad blocks' and such. One thing occurs to me now. I need to change the RAM from slot J2 to J1 next. I will try that tomorrow.

Thanks for the Language suggestion. I tried this some time ago and almost cocked it up by deleting files I wanted to keep - and vice versa. Misunderstood the instructions and did the opposite of what I needed to do. I managed to stop the programme in time however before the machine became unusable.
If re-installing Tiger (by Archive and install) can replace any English language files that may have been deleted, I will try reinstalling once again. I think I may have already tried doing this, but it won't hurt to have another go. I will switch RAM slots before I try re-installing Tiger again to see if that does anything.
I note that I can 'Safe Boot' ok.

Continual Ipod classic problems

I would like to say first that I have been very patient waiting for an update to supposedly fix the problems of not being able to use mt ipod classic 160 I have owned for about a month and a half and it has been replaced about 6 times one of which time was at the apple store where it also crashed for them. I have tried everything loading it manually sometimes day by day slowly it would reach a point and just do the same thing over again. I am at my wits end, thank god I still have my rugged old click wheel ipod to get me through the day. A couple of days ago I saw that there was itunes update 7.5 so I downloaded it that said it fixed some ipod classic issues, I went to this discussion forum for a couple days and didnt see much activity about the ipod classic so I thought maybey there was a cure. I then today went to my closet where the last ipod I received from the apple store was and proceeded to load it. Everything seemed fine until the end when the ipod ejected itself it said it was safe to disconnect... I disconnected it and it went into a continual crash with the apple logo displayed. I then connected it again this time putting it into disk mode and did a restore halfway through the restore I got a message saying that the ipod was corrupted. The ipod ejected and again went into the apple screen crash and I connected it and put it into disk mode again and reconnected it and proceeded to restore it. The fist restoration attempt gave me a message of unable to restore the ipod error 1419 so I tired it a second time. The second restoration was succesful and the ipod began to load. It then disconnected and did same thing over again continual crashing. So the last step was to again to start it in disk mode and I restored again only to be able to not load anything onto it and restore back to the factory settings so it will turn off so I can return it back to the closet and continue to be frustrated and disappointed in my purchase. it is pretty bad when you spend close to 400 dollars for something and you cant use it. I need a solution.

Thanks for your concern. I am using Vista and its a bummer because I have a G3 ibook and probably wouldnt be having this problem if I were using it. But I have to use a PC for work and I wanted all my music on my computer also for traveling on business. I just think there are some bugs for Vista and they can't iron them out yet. There silence on issues is quite frustrating I am very disapointed in my purchase. I was going to bu an Archos player and decided to be loyal to apple because even though I am on a PC for work I have had nothing but Apple computers from the beginning. I think there support is lagging a little on the ipod classic. I guess the only thing I can do is wait for another update from Apple. Because when i take my computer and my ipod classic to them they get the same result I do and they don't know how to support it. I have no options at this point. I was looking forward to buying movies and music videos too. Back to the closet shelf.

I continuously have a problem making calls where I have to activate then cancel the speaker phone button. Normally happens when calling landline phones but sometimes mobile. Any fixes?

I continuously have problems making calls from my iphone 4S. When I place a call and press send, you hear nothing until I turn on and off the speaker button and then you hear the ring tone or the person answering. This happens normally on land line calls but does occur when calling mobile phones somethimes. Is this a common problem or is there a fix for it? Thanks

IPAD3 continuous hang Up Problem

My device is IPAD MC705D. IOS is up to date(6.1.3 or later). For the last couple days the device has been hanging up continuously. Also the device shuts down abruptly, screen goes black and apple logo showed up. This problem occurs while using both apps(any) and in ststic mood. I tried pressing home button and on/off simultaneously for 10 sec but the problem prevails after every restart. Really baffled by this issue. Does anyone has any sustainable solution ?

Suggest you backup (if it is possible) and restore to Factory Default.

5900-TD128 problem

Hi everyone..
After some assistance with a problem that my FX5900 is causing with WinXP.
It will intermittently turn itself off causing the monitor to go blank and the monitor power light to flash.
Sometimes it will recover though often XP will be locked or the screen will be in low res mode.
I’ve tried various Nvidia drivers (currently 53.03) but nothing seems to be rectifying the problem.
Any ideas on how I can fix this very annoying problem?

The only IRQs that the video card is sharing is the USB controller. The sound card is on IRQ 17.
Could the sharing with the USB controller be causing the problem?

I continue to have problems with text entry with Android 4.1.2 -- Any word on an update?

When my phone (Droid 4: I like the physical keyboard, which seems to be going the way of the dodo) was upgraded to 4.1.2 a while back, the following happened:
-- Spell check disappeared from text entry using any browser;
-- Auto-complete started losing track of where I was in a sentence, so hitting backspace deleted entire words instead of the last character typed;
-- The Swype keyboard ceased to function.
As a result, I had to give up on many of the spell-check features and give up on the Swype keyboard.
I'm really hoping that an update is forthcoming, and further, that it will fix the issues with the last one.
Anyone have any idea?

I have not installed any third party messaging apps or keyboard functionality apps, at least not intentionally. I rebooted in Safe Mode and all symptoms are the same. I tested it by going to Google Translate, which has a web input window. Spell check was inactive, Swype was capitalizing every word, making it basically useless.
A symptom that I failed to mention continues to be present in Safe Mode also – when hitting the shift key and backspacing, the selected text is not highlighted, so I basically have to guess what I’ve selected, and only find out if I’m right once I hit backspace or start typing in replacement text.
Spell check was inactive in third party applications also, for example Quick Office. It did show up in Gmail. I was unable to duplicate any application getting lost in terms of where the cursor is so that I deleted the wrong text; however, this is an intermittent problem, so I would probably have to do a lot of typing, etc., to duplicate it. However, I have seen other posts complaining about phone behavior very similar to what I reported.
Bottom line – The phone acted precisely the same in Safe Mode as it did outside of Safe Mode.

Continual Unresponsive script problem

This is a continual problem. I have increased the setting of parameter: dom.max_script_run_time gradually from 10 to 60. Every time Firefox starts I still have the same problem, usually with Firefox scripts i.e. Script: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsBlocklistService.js:648
I have Firefox version 3.6.8 installed. This is getting tiresome. Please advise how can be fixed.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Monitor shuts down 10 sec, then on 10 sec - restart needed to continue in Firefox, problem only in Firefox.

Lately I´ve experienced annoying problems when using Firefox - and only when using Firefox - the monitor shuts down for about 10 sec, then on again for about 10 sec, in the meanwhile doing anything on the computer is REAL slow.
After restart everything is normal.

Talked with Go Daddy and it looks like the cause of this is some kind of incompatibility between Safari 8 and their workspace 'securesever' online CLASSIC VIEW. If you click the "UPDATED VIEW" on the top right hand corner, you will get a new view and it should solve the logout due to inactivity error when clicking on the email or sending the email.

Continued Spotlight Indexing Problems

I'm still having problems with Spotlight indexing my drives into infinity. I just had a new 320g drive installed on my machine and, as I've posted before, Spotlight went ballistic trying to index it, telling me it had "2147483648 hours remaining" to complete indexing. As before, Activity Monitor shows mds taking over the system, hogging nearly 100% of the processor and causing the fan on my MacBook to go into overdrive.
As before, the only solution seems to be to shut Spotlight down completely. Using Spotless caused a freeze at first, and I had to reboot it and try again.
Does anybody know why this problem is so persistent? I've also noticed that Spotlight does not seem to search inside System Libraries any longer. Can anyone else verify this?

I'm having the same problem as well. I got a tool called Spotless. Which wasn't much help. I even deleted the index completely, restarted it and it still indexed ad infinitum. I think there's a problem with certain filenames or filetypes where it just chokes. Instead of crashing or erroring, it just stalls and keeps going. I'm trying to index my disks one at a time. But my system disk is the problem I think.

Continued MBP Mail Problems

Seriously everyone. I can't believe I am the only one that has this problem?
I cannot understand why I can't attach files (pics, pdf, etc) within my mail messages whether it's through finder (drag/drop) or via the mail attach route.
Nothing seems to work.
Any help/suggestions would be really appreciated since I am very frustrated with such basic malfunctions for unknown reasons.

Continue from Quiz Problem

For my project, after the end user completes the quiz, when
they "Click anywhere to continue" I want the next URL to open in
the current window, not a new window.

At one point I had also tried for the Quiz/Pass or Fail

No combination of the three has seemed to work successfully
to have the URL open in the same browser window; it keeps opening
in a new window.
I am still pretty new at using Adobe Captivate, so any
suggestions would be grately appreciated.

What version of Captivate are you using? I'm using version 3
and tested this in both IE and Firefox and both versions seem to
behave as you are wanting.
I guess I should also ask what your output is. Is it .SWF or
.EXE. If it's .EXE, I'm doubtful you will be able to avoid the
separate browser window.
