Continued Widescreen Issues/Questions
From what I gathered, there is no solution to having our widescreen movies to show up widescreen on a dvd. I tried some of the suggestions, but none have worked. If someone knows a clear easy step solution, starting with exporting from iMovie (what exact expert settings or can I just use full quality), please, please let me know.

Reg: Continuous Printing issue in EPSON LQ-300+II
Dear All,
I'm facing a continuous cheque printing issue with EPSON printer (LQ-300+II).
We've created a new page format for state bank of Mysore cheque (Dimension 231mm width X 92.5mm Height) and assigned that in our sapscript for printing. The cheque is printed using transactoin F-58.
In windows server properties (print setting), our system admin has created a form with above dimension.
My problem, first & second cheques are printed correctly & identically, but from third cheque the amount is printed slowly starting to print up by 0.5mm. After few cheques it is completing coming out of the box and printing few cms up.
We've tried implementing every possible solutions given in the forum and ended in vain.
1) inserted coding in printer initialization.
2) tried to create similiar page format in windows.
Please sugget a way to get out of this continuous printing issue.

Rajan UThe stated length of the form / paper is in error... that's why the output is "moving" up the page... sound like it should have been 93.0 mm height. I would guess that if you carefully measured the placement on check 1 and 2, you would see precisely how much too short the height is....

WiSM Design and Testing Issues / Questions / Queries etc......

I hope you can grasp the following description of the test network I have. I admit a diagram would have been better but it's hard to send a whiteboard over the web : )
I am currently in the process of designing and testing out a wireless solution and am having a few issues / queries. I have a 6509 with a Wireless Services Module (WiSM) installed in slot 3, one Cisco 1240 AP on a remote LAN and a DHCP server on a remote LAN (not the same as the AP)
I am using LAG on controller 1 with port channel 1 and native VLAN 20.
VLAN 20 is 10.1.1.0 / 24
The management interface has IP address of 10.1.1.10
The AP-manager interface has IP address of 10.1.1.11
VLAN 11 is 128.88.1.0 / 24
The service port has IP address of 128.88.1.10
The Cisco 1240 AP on the remote LAN is picking up a IP address via DHCP (from a remote DHCP server) OK and can route to both the aforementioned VLANs 20 and 11.
Issue/Question 1
I can ping the management interface locally on the 6509 and also remotely from the AP so all looks OK there however I cannot ping the AP-manager locally or remotely.
Is this expected behaviour? I would expect that if I can ping one I should be able to ping the other or is the AP-manager interface not routed and only used in some way to create the LWAPP tunnel>
Issue/Question 2
As previously stated the AP is picking up and IP address but it is not being passed the Option 43 parameter from the DHCP server (not yet ruled out the DHCP server as the cause of this). Due to this I have amended the DNS entry of the management interface (10.1.1.10) to CISCO-LWAPP-CONTROLLER as a last resort. With a console on the AP I can see that the AP tries to join by the "%LWAPP-5-CHANGED: LWAPP changed state to JOIN" output but then get;
LWAPP_CLIENT_ERROR_DEBUG: spamHandleJoinTimer: Did not recieve the Join response
LWAPP_CLIENT_ERROR_DEBUG: No more AP manager IP addresses remain.
Is this related to the fact that I cannot see the AP-Manager interface on the network?
Issue/Question 3
I have chosen to hard code the IP address of the Service port rather than leave it to DHCP. I am more comfortable having static addresses for management. However, there is no option for a default gateway for the service port.... If I try to get round this by applying a static route via the CLI on the WiSM controller to point traffic out via 128.88.1.1 on VLAN 11 this seemingly overrides all routing on the controller and causes my management interface (10.1.1.10) to fall off the network. Is the routing table applied "en masse" to the Controller? If so this surely means that to use the Service Port you have to be on the local LAN segement?!?!

I am having exactly the same problem.
Getting the same error message "No more AP manager IP addresses remain."
I'm deploying 200 AP's that will connect to 2x WiSM (4 controllers) in 2 seperate C6k Chassis
(Controller 1a & 1b = wism 1, 2a & 2b = wism 2)
I have had 1 out of the first 5 AP's physically connected, come online and register with Controller 2b (btw: this was not the master controller, it should not have registed with 2b). All others fail with the same error message as above.
I have all Management and AP-Manager interfaces in the same vlan/subnet as my AP's.
I place a console cable onto the failed APs and see the AP cycle though the motions of trying to find the controllers, download new software code from a random controller, then it reboots, gets DHCP assigned, then get the "No more AP manager ip addresses remain" and then issues a "Reload requested by LWAPP CLIENT.
Then the AP does the whole cycle all over again.
Not sure why the AP's don't register with the controllers when they are all in the same vlan.
I have a couple of extra questions.
1. what address do you bind to the dns entry cisco-lwapp-controller.localdomain, is it the management address or AP-Manager address ?
I have bound it to the Management address for WiSM 1a.
Also I have 4x controllers (2x WiSMs, 2 controllers per WiSM). Do I just bind controller 1a's address or do I have to put 4x DNS entries into my DNS server for all my controllers?
2. DHCP option 43, Do I place all 4x management ip addresses in the option or do I put in the AP-Manager Ip address?

2. This final question is more around Dynamic Interfaces for my 4 controllers once I get the AP's resisted,
Do I have to set up a dynamic interface ip address on every controller?
e.g.
Ssid = data, VLAN=10, VLAN10=10.0.0.0/24, I will bind AP's 1-8 to VLan group 10.
Do I have to setup 1 dynamic interfaces per controller in the 10.0.0.0 subnet, taking up 4 addresses ?
And if I only have to set up 1 or 2 dynamic interface, how does this work if the controller fails?

Update will not connect to server, continuous lagging and questionable security?
I actually have a few questions. I recently switched to Firefox from IE9 for a few reasons. My IT Security professor mentioned Firefox was safer than most and an online article suggested it was faster than IE9. So I decided to give it a chance; the previous version was too slow and wouldn't play any video so I downloaded version 4. It worked great for about 3-4 weeks and now I'm having the following problems:
1. Every time Firefox says it has to update, the window pops up to connect to server. All it does is continuously try to connect (nothing happens). Now, one time I left it open all day to see if it would and that night a window popped up and said to restart Firefox to complete. I did what it said and it just started trying to connect to the server again.
2. When I first downloaded Firefox 4 it was fast and almost never lagged. Now, it seems as if every page I try to connect to lags. In fact, sometimes I have to close it down and restart. It's actually normal pages I open everyday like school, mail, weather and typical Yahoo pages. Nothing has changed on my end, so I'm unaware of why this is happening now.
3. I'm really concerned with the security issues. I still have IE9; recently, because of lagging and security issues, I've tried switching between the two to check cleaning details. I'll run my cleaner after a day of IE9 and do the same for Firefox (same typical searches). With IE9, there's not much to clean, maybe 17-18 mb's at most (cookies, typical stuff) and never had a virus. The CPU monitor also stays calm. On Firefox, I get 160-210 mb's every time. The CPU gauge fluctuates constantly and I've had three viruses.
I'm not sure if it's because the updates will not take or what, but I've had to switch back to IE9 because of these problems. I really enjoyed Firefox (when it worked); the interface was easy to navigate and use and in the beginning was very fast. I miss it! But because of these issues, I have to take a break until they are fixed. I can't afford to have my computer crash. Please help!If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

* Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

Hello there I will try and explain this whole story as best as I can. First off, I know my way around computers, I am going to school for them. Asking for help is a last stretch for me... but I need to learn when to ask for help inorder to learn from my mistakes. This laptop is a HP Pavillion DV7. List of replacement parts for this laptop can be found here.I have done as much research as I can on the issue. So let me explain my situation. As a gamer, I know I stress out my laptop a lot. at 2.2ghz, it doesnt do much, but its 8mb L3 cache allows me to play quite a lot, not to mention what I gather from sources, my processor itself determines it should turboboost itself to 3.1ghz when it is under a heavy load. ( If this information is not true, then I will have to look into those sources again ) I have to admit, I do leave my computer on. I administrate gameservers and Teamspeak servers quite often, and gain access to the computers using the internet from my house to help fix the problems. I know I am not suppose to, but I leave it on so that I have the convience of looking into issues first hand and help the community owners as quickly as possible. I feel this is why I am having the issue I am. On Monday morning, a regular morning to wake up, first thing I do is check computer for any messages. The top left hand side of the computer is hot. Normal, since this is where the processor is in the laptop. The bottom part however never truely is. It got slightly warm, enough for me to take a notice. I turned computer off to let it rest so no problems had occured. a nice 30-45 minute rest. Laptop became room tempature at touch so I proceeded to turn it on. Upon doing so, I got a message The system has detected that a cooling fan is not operating correctly.Continued operation is not recommended and may cause unpredictable behavior that could result in random shutdown, data loss or possible system damage. The system will shut down in 15 seconds. To prevent shutdown and continue operation, press the Enter key now.System Fan (90b) I restarted computer, got same message. Proceeded to turn off laptop, then made sure AC power cord and adapter were working fine and plugged in. ( My Adapter block is normally hot, I think this is due to me leaving laptop plugged in all the time and never turning it off.) I restart once more, then head into BIOS. I check that the System Configurations are correct, Fan is automatically turned on, and I check BIOS logs for start up. All came up clear except the past 3 times. They stated part 090-B came up an error. This surely was the fan not being recognizes, as the start up told me. I go searching in the internet for replacement fan. This is the fan I have pruchased [ Replacement Fan ] and the thermal paste I purchased with it [ Thermal Paste ]. I rechecked with friends who work in computer stores for a living and they told me this was the correct part. So I decided I would wait. Today, I was told of an issue with the server, I log in to check the problem, get the error message for the fan. No biggie. I fix the issue within 5 minutes. My laptop was not on long enough to get hot. I get a message for an update today. I figured, sure; not a huge process needer, It will be fine. I let it update, and restart because I know it will need to finish applying them on restart. This time... the fan error did not display. I let the update patch in all 36,000 files. I restart after. I check the BIOS logs, It said no errors. I restart another 2 times to make sure I am not missing the message. There is none. Whether or not my idea is wrong, I will still replace the cooling fan. My question is... Since the BIOS is responsible for how the computer starts, could the update possibly be the reason the error message no longer occurs? with 36,000 files patched, they could have easily been a driver fix and or a BIOS patch. They also could have been a simple security fix, but I have no way or knowing. I know it was 14 updates, and 36,000 files patched. Could this at all have effected the error I was getting? Again, whether or not it could be the solution, I wil lstill replace the fan. I ask for future reference of this knowledge. Could this be a simple mistake in the matter? Should I take into consideration of the update as a fix for the fan? Did it matter at all? EDIT It seems though the error is gone, my processor still seems to be getting hot. Windows 8, Y55 ideapad continual clicking issue with touchpad. Help please
For some reason, when I tap to click the item I clicked remains actively clicked when I move my hand away from the touchpad. In order to process any action, I need to move my cursor away from the button I'm trying to click.
Interestingly enough I tried to disable tapping to see if it would solve the issue, and tapping continued to work...which is odd. It doesn't have this issue when I click objects with a mouse, only when I use the trackpad. Please help me, I'm confused.hi BFG9000,

You can try Uninstalling the driver of your touchpad from Device Manager, under Mice and other pointing device and make sure to put a check on Delete Driver/software prompt.
Then try Checking the touchpad if it works ok without a driver, If it does then try downloading a driver from synaptics website.
If not then Most likely this is a Hardware concern and you need to contact Lenovo Technical Support for assistance.

Any idea what it is? I'd appreciate any sort of diagnose?
My Mac has had some freezing issues before and recently was in repair because of those (memory was changed), but I've never got an error message after a freeze, and I've always had to force shut down it when it freezes. Ran the Apple hardware test couple of times, but nothing found.

Jabber for Windows - Outlook Meeting integration issue/questions

A couple of questions if anyone else has experienced or can answer:
1. When you turn on Jabber it appears in the trace file to create a transitionlist of meetings in your calendar for the next four hours. Eg if meeting 8-9 it will show 8:00 BUSY
9:00 FREE
and this works ok. This transitionlist also seems to update each time a status change occurs from what I have observed.
The problem we seem to have is if I open Jabber at 7.45am and have a meeting 8 - 9 then it shows "In a meeting", then if I create a meeting at 9.15am for 10am-10.30am, the meeting status does not change as it seems to operate of the four hour transitionlist. I have the setting in the CUPS server for exchange sync to happen every twenty minutes, but this does not seem to update.
I'm be focussing on the wrong area but basically not all calendar appt's update status in Jabber, especially the one's created within the four hour pperiod.
2. To have the presence status of a person in an Outlook email address field, do you need 2010 or does it work with prior versions, we currently operate 2003. I have configured the SIP component in AD, but no status or click to call facility from Outlook.

MacBook Pro 13" Screen Issue Question
Hey guys
I have this strange area on my MacBook Pro screen that is noticalby brighter than the rest of the screen. I've tried using the screen capture function, but the patch doesn't show up on that images generated. Here's a photo i took with my iPhone

It's the area near the centre of the photo where the issue is present. It is easier to see on the photo if you move away from the screen, so you're further away, then it stands out more. However i can see it clearly when using the MBP on my lap or on a table.
My MacBook is still in warranty, so my questions are:
A) Should i take my machine to the Apple Store to show them the issue?
B) What are they store likely to do, will they replace the screen, replace the machine or simply turn me away and tell me the issue doesn't warrant action?
Even though it might seem like a small issue, once i see it whilst working my vision is drawn to it, so i lose focus on the rest of my screen.

TomThanks for you response, I just want to check you're seeing the same error i am, i know the photo looks like there's a large area with a different brightness, but that's just because of the way I was positioned when taking the photo.

ok first off thanks to the people here, the sticky's are great and very informative.
although i do find the info outdated in that they all refer to old bios's. other than that this is a fantastic forum
ok so on with the questions.
im using a Silicon Image IDE U133 RAID controller (PCI CARD), , the ide hard drive(s) do NOT have to be in raid its just like a Promise card but its made by someone else.
ANYTIME i have ANY type of hard drive hooked up to that, the motherboard takes nearly 5 minutes to boot to the active hard drive. even if i select boot menu and then the RAID hard drives the SATA drives i mean.
my active hard drives are 2 Maxtor 160gig SATA drives in RAID0 mode.
if i have NO hard drives hooked to the controller card the system boots directly to the active boot hard drive. without dealy.
IF i have an ide hard drive set to boot off the SIL card, it takes just as long. which seems like ages.
anyone know of issues with this mobo and certain IDE hard drive controllers. (PCI)
i too am having blank sreen issues with my 9700 pro video card. but mine is nearly 2 out of 5 times i boot i have no video, and many times i am forced to reach around the pc case and unplug the power cord for a few minutes, in order to get the system to boot WITH video.
another issue that i have and this is the WORST.
nearly 90% of the time, the motherboard will NOT i repeat will NOT boot from a floppy or cdrom, all i get is the message on screen, if i am using a bootable floppy, like "Starting windows 98" or "Starting Windows ME" these are DOS boot disks made with windows XP.
i then get only a blinking curser. and nothing else.
OR
i get a blinking cursor and then i must wait 5-10 minutes before anything else happens. and even then usually the cdrom or floppy wont complete the booting process.
this happens regardless of if i have anything hooked to that IDE controller card.
i am now using the LATEST bios offered for this mobo and nothing has changed in fact ,,well according to the readme i was expecting to see some changes within the bios but i seee none. maybe i read the read me wrong. (say that 5 times fast)
i can NOT run the ram performance mode in anything other than slow. which is making me very angry.
i have infineon ram not sure what model but i will report back when i find out.
but i do recall sandra reporting it as supporting 2.5cas and other setting that appear to be FAST or TURBO and yet i cant use those in the bios otherwise my system reboots in windows or i get memory speed errors during post.
overall im VERY pleased with this mobo but am discouraged at the way its treating me.
i have a PentIV 3.0ghz HT which is a NON production model, it is a sample model with the multiplyer unlocked. i can go with a lower multiplyer but NOT a higher one, so i assume its unlocked but the CPU itself is limited to 15x multiplyer.
i have tried tons of configurations and can run very stable at 3.45ghz but i MUST make the dram 333 mhz not 400. then raise the FSB to around 225 or 230. but i still get serious power offs when doing any heavy work on the pc.
i have CPU voltages at 1.575 yet sandra reports it as 1.55
DRAM voltage at 2.7 ( i am using DDR400)
and AGP at 1.7
with this CPU what is a GOOD voltage to use.
is it ok to go higher than 2.7 with DDR400 ?
and AGP everything i have read said that 1.8v will fry the 9700 pro. is this true ?
sorry im asking alot of questions but if you can help me with any of them i would REALLY appreciate it, and i would pass along any info i learn.!Well as Far as your PCI IDE Controller Questions are concerned, I would not know as I have never Used one , And with the Available Promise controller, you should Try using this instead......As Far as your Memory Voltage, You can Raise the Voltage above 2.7 Volts, But unless you are Really Overclocking the PBS or FSB as some call it, then 2.7 Volts is the "Norm" For this Board, But if you do NOT have High Performance RAM you should check with the Manufacturer, before you Go any Higher than 2.7 V, as far as the AGP Voltage is concerned, 1.6 Volts is the MAX that you should Have it set to with any of the new NVIDIA-FX or ATI-PRO, or XT Series Cards, Because as you know, the Cards that are 8X AGP Speed only Require .8Volts to begin with, and the ABP Voltage is Further Reduced by the Cards onboard Electronics, And if you have one of the High Performance Cards, well as you know, these get 90% of their Operating Power from the 4 Pin Molex PSU Connector. Any higher AGP Voltage then 1.6 Volts will only increase the Temps. of Both the Motherboards Chipset, and the VPU itself.................Sean REILLY875

Hello i have recently joined BT Infinity and have hit the issue of the Port Forwarding not working. My HH3 is on the following version of software. Will this version automatically upgrade to the latest version of firmware and will this fix my port forwarding issue?
As i work in IT (Cisco Network Eng) i need to be able to access several devices/services at home and this is a real pain for me. If you think that this could drag on as some posts have indicated could you please let me know and i will either get a draytek or throw in a cisco 1841.

Illustrator issues questions--I need help
Illustrator CS4, MAC OSX 10.5.8...
After struggling off and on for a few months with Illustrator, I'd like to be able to confirm a few things, so I know I'm not insane.
1. Canvas/Pasteboard. Is there not an easy way to change that a bit so I can see more difference between the artboard and background? I found a workaround using transparency grid color and then putting a white picture block on the artboard (on a locked layer underneath). This is at least acceptable for various things. Is there some setting I'm missing? Mostly I'd just like to change the color of the canvas so it stands out more.(And I'd rather have my own choice than whatever the preset tends to be because these blaring white/light screens are killer on the eyes...)
1a. How do I save a "blank" version of the canvas set up I made so my "colorized" canvas comes up in new documents? Is there a way to set a default document?
1b. Is there a way to make the canvas a bit smaller?
2. Scrolling. When I select an object and want to move it up the page/artboard, AI doesn't seem to scroll to the area I'm trying to get to. Is there a setting I'm missing or accidentally checked/unchecked? I have to go to the scrollbar and click that and move the item screen-by-screen up the page (alternatively, zoom out, etc.)
2a. I noticed earlier today when trying to sort out text issues (point text, specifically) when I rotated a box... as soon as my cursor hit the edge of the document, the window view practically scrolled out of the universe! Why would it scroll to an out-of-view place in this instance and not scroll when I'm trying to drag an item to an out-of-view place in the document?
3. I have tons of legacy Freehand 7 files. A decade's worth (not to mention apps prior to that for another decade). Every piece of text comes in as a "text area" box (ordinarily not a problem). But not a one of them shows all the text. I understand this is an issue with legacy files of all types (saving out old FH7 files as an older version of AI yields the same results.)
Pages are cluttered with red + everywhere. Never mind the time sink, does AI have any way to "snap to" regarding a text area box to the text? How do you get multiple text boxes/objects to line up and be the same size? I'm not seeing H x W spec boxes to enter numerics in for text area boxes (as a start). Do I need to use grids or guides for this?
4. Whatever tool I'm using persists and doesn't change to a regular arrow when I go to click a scrollbar. Program glitch?
5. How do I set a default font? Or a default doc to open with the desired font preset in it?
6. When saving out a graphic to be used in another app, is there no "save selection as.."? Or do I need to open a new doc, paste and save from there for each thing? (My master documents for some frequently used items tend to have many items)
I know these are really newbie questions, but what used to be 5 minute tweaks in the past (in Freehand) now turn into all-day ordeals trying to figure out what I consider to be just the basics. So I'm not really learning about all the features and aspects of AI at this point.
Can anyone confirm some of the stuff above or point out what I've missed?

Scrolling-- I have a group (or object selected) and I'm just dragging it along, but it doesn't go farther than the edge of the doc.

I see the "save as" and "save a copy"-- but I don't see a "save SELECTION"? Where is that?

Two issues, Question mark and Chinese
Issue #1 - When I go to a URL such as the Apple.com location, OT files such as the iPhone (drool) currently featured don't appear. Instead I get a semi transparent QT logo with a Question mark superimposed over it. Same goes for QT files that are emailed to me as attachements.
Issue #2 - When I click on the QT icon on my dock I get a small window that pops up titled "Welcome to Quick Time" and if clicked linking me to a QT promo which, consistent with issue #1 will not load. Quick Time opens but other than the name of the application in bold, all other words are in what I assume is Chinese.
These two issues seem to have cropped up simultaneously, though I can't say for sure. How do I reset the language that QT is displayed in? Particularly when I can't read any menu/toolbar items in QT?

The QT and VLC are both in the Applications folder, should this not be the case?Was not referring to applications here but the browser plug-ins in the "~root > Library > Internet Plug-Ins" folder. If there is a browser plug-in conflict, this is where you would start to look for it.
As for the language issue, I checked International and found Chinese to be second under English in the list. I moved Spanish up to second to see the result and QT is now in Spanish. I moved Spanish to first position and English to second and all of my Apps etc were in Spanish including QT! I put English back on top and all are just that except QT which is still in Spanish. So evidently QT has developed a distaste for English?This seems to confirm that your problem is connected to the language list -- or rather how QT has indexed and is accessing the list. It is obviously off by one index and if QT is the only application affected, would assume it most likely the application is corrupted. Unfortunately, as embedded as it is in the current system, the best solution might be to reinstall the OS. On the other hand, if you can wait for the next upgrade, I was wondering you could get temporary relief by simply placing "English US" at the top of the list and use "English" as the second entry. At least you could read the menus.
One other question....I was planning on upgrading to Quick Time Pro, will downloading this fix my problem?No, QT Pro merely unlocks editing/saving/exporting features.
Can I delete QT and then start over with a download of QT Pro?QT Pro is not a separate application. With previous versions of QT, I might recommend removal and re-installation of QT. But with the current "tight" integrations of QT/OS I personally would worry about creating more problems than I would solve. -
Table of Contents Issue/Question
Hi everyone, I hope I can put my question accurately into words.
I'm working on a 450 page product catalog in Indesign CS5 for the mac. The catalog has 7 main sections, in which there are numerous smaller sections. I need to create a table of contents for these smaller sections, however, my issue is this; my table of contents is based on the product names which I've applied a paragraph style to, but, also included on the same line that the product name is, are several small icons. I used the library function to put these icons into place. I put my curser where I wanted the icons to be, went to the library, right clicked on the icon I wanted, and selected place item. I found this to be the easiest way since there were approximately 1500 products in the catalog. So, my issue is, now that I'm creating a mini-table of contents for these numerous sections, the icons are included in my table of contents, which I don't want. I can manually go in and delete each icon, but I'm thinking there has to be a faster way. I thought of possibly a grep style but can't figure out how to make that work.
Any help would be appreciated! It's going to take a while to delete each one of those. I hope I've described this accurately; please feel free to ask any questions if it's not clear.

(1) Has anyone experienced an issue with the rear panel e-sata connections not working after the 1.4 bios update? The "front panel" connection still works, but not those on the rear panel.
(2) Why does the English language site only show bios versions 1.2 and 1.3 for download? I had to get my 1.4 from a German language site if my memory serves me. And isn't this the bios being used in the overclocking competition?
(3) If 1.4 is STILL in beta, any idea what is taking so long to make it official (maybe this e-sata problem, as well as other problems)? Perhaps this board got lost in the shuffling in of all of MSI's newer boards? I expected more frequent bios revisions (i.e., better support) than what I've seen so far.
(4) Sometimes, when I was using 1.3, my computer would freeze and throw an "02" code...which isn't in the manual (this was my reason for trying 1.4). Any ideas?

The board itself does not have a "front panel". Your case has that and the eSATA-Connector of the case feeds to one of the internal SATA Ports of the board. Can you check which one it is connected to? I am asking because there are actually three different SATA Controllers on the mainboard:
- Intel ICH10R --> controlling the 6 SATA Ports that are angled to the back
- Marvell® 88SE9128 --> controlling the 2 SATA-III ports
- JMicron JMB362 --> controlling the "native" eSATA Port at the back panel
Basically that means that whatever internal SATA Port your front panel eSATA-Port of the case is connected to, it would be hooked up to a different controller than the native eSATA Port on the back panel. Regarding the back panel port: Make sure that the JMicron Controller is enabled in BIOS Setup and also make sure that it is set to operate in AHCI Mode.

This is where you are on the wrong track already:
Firstly, no MSI Product site (regardless) will offer BETA Releases for download. That is why the only thing you find on the product sites for any board are Final Releases.
Secondly, you are probably talking about the German MSI Forum when you say "German language site". Well, that is a user forum and yes, it has an ongoing thread to offer BETA Releases for download. The German MSI Forum is a user-to-user forum, just as this forum here. And in case you haven't noticed, this is a user-to-user forum as well, not MSI Technical Support. You are being somewhat imprecise when it comes to pointing to your actual BIOS Version. An "1.4" Final release does not exist yet. You are then talking about vA7666IMS.148 [=v1.4b8] in your thread title and then about v1.4b10 in your signature. So, which one are you referring to?

Again, there is no 1.4 version yet. There have been eleven (11) BETA Releases of the v1.4bxx-series so far. There is no time plan for releasing final versions. Nobody (not even MSI) will be able to answer the question when a final version will be released.
Also, at this point, it does not seem that it is definate that the eSATA problem you mentioned is even BIOS Version related. Not only are you the only user that seems to have an issue with the back panel eSATA Port, but it is also possible that you forgot to enable something in BIOS Setup, or perhaps there some sort of defect with the port itself which cannot be fixed on the BIOS Level.
