Continuous audio throughout meny navigation?

Is it possible to add a audiotrack so it plays continuous while you navigate thru your menus?
I want the same audio playing in the background when you jump from menu to menu or is the dvd player required to read all the time for playing back audio?
Right now the audio is connected to my looping DVD menu.
My menu is 36 second long, and when it startsover so does the song, from the begining, if the continuous don't work, is there a fix for this?

No, that´s not possible because the laser would have to read two different tracks at the same time (continuing with the audio track while jumping to the next menu). The buffer cache is not large enough for entire audio tracks.

  • Continuous audio during menu navigation

Is there a way to have an audio track play continuously from one menu to the next? I'd like to have a song begin when the DVD is loaded and then continue playing as the user navigates through various menus. Once a video/chapter is selected, the music would stop and the audio would switch to the video... that sounds kind of odd, but I think you know what I mean.

Unfortuataly thats impossible on dvds alltogether. the reason for that is that each menu is actully a separate video file which has its own audio track. DVDs cant have a single audio track run and then switch menues with that one track playing. just look at commercial dvds. None of them do that.

  • Continuous Audio/Different Menus?

Hi there, I was just wondering if it is possible to create a DVD in DVD Studio Pro 4 so that there is one audio asset that plays continuously while the viewer changes from one menu to another.
I like having audio with my menus, but it is annoying to constantly hear either the same song beginning on each menu change, or to keep hearing random different songs.
    Thanks for the suggestions!

    Hi There,
If you only have about 9 total menus on your DVD that would be good to have continuous audio under, as one navigates to the other, then you could acheive this with 'buttons on video' in a Track with 7,8,or 9 angles.
Depending on your project and how you nest the hierarchy of the menus, you could acheive the effect of even more seamless audio menu switches.
Yes, I have the spec books, which are very explicit that this can be done, and recently completed a massive several months long project helping an authoring studio working for a major sports league implement this exact functionality.
Though, I had to switch them over to Scenarist, which they purchased ( I told them they'd need Scenarist at the get go, but they wanted me to test in our player bank DVD SP and Scenarist projects side by side on this and other questions regarding implementation of this functionality, before they were convinced to spend 20K!), because of DVD SP's lack of being able to define individual subtitles instances as buttons with highlight info and navigation commands; as DVD SP forces a whole complete cell for each subtitle defined as a button. But you won't need as many cells (thousands) as they did.
So, if you really want to get it done, it is possible for certain projects. We ran multiple versions of that project for that company in all 145 of our players, and there were only a very few incompatibilities, which didn't faze them from mass releasing world-wide. Oh btw, check out the new pic on my site of a few of us around the player bank, with the list of players, if you'd like.
But for DVDs with lots (tons?) of menus, Shawn, Steve, and Hal are absolutely correct.

  • Continuing audio issues using Kona card

    MAC PRO 2 x 2.93 GHz 6 Core
    12 GB 1333 MJZ DDR3 Ram
    Kona 3 card
    Kona driver 10.3.1
    Adobe utilities for Kona 10.3.0
    Quadro 4000 graphics card
    Video drive Apple XServe raid
    plus 2 TB G-raid & 3, 2 TB internal 7200 RPM drives
    OS 10.7.4
    CS6.0.1.31
So I've been dealing with this issue since I downloded and started using the Kona 3 drivers with PPCS6.0.1
Often when I start my computer after shutting down the night before and restart premier in the same project I left that was working fine.  I get broken audio in playback.  When I check my computer system audio in and out preferences they have mysteriously switched back to Kona, which is what is causing the problem.
I attempt to switch them back to line in and line out, close preferneces and then reopen and that switch has not taken and they're back to Kona.
I repair permissions and restart and make the change again...sometimes when I do this I get a Kernal panic, so need to shut down and start again.  Someties this will fix the issue for today, sometimes not.  Today after the kernal panic, everything seems to be working properly.
This is a little anoying and is a 15 to 20 minute excercise each morning.  Sure I could leave my machine on all night, but I'd sure appreciate anyone's ideas on how to solve this continuing issue.
I turned in a bug report today, since I believe it is indeed a bug somewhere.
    Thx...Jim Watt

I found a post in the apple forum that solved this issue...
If you are having problems with your "default output" sound in Snow Leopard, try the following...
Go to your hard drive (root level), and open the Library folder. Then open the Preferences folder, and open the Audio folder.
Delete the two preference files contained in the Audio folder:
    - com.apple.audio.DeviceSettings.plist
    - com.apple.audio.SystemSettings.plist
Reboot your mac, and hopefully your problems will be solved.
This solution worked for me, and hopefully it will for you too.

  • Multiple Audio CD Burn, Navigation Away from Playlist Breaks Things...

Wonder if anyone else has noticed this behavior:
I was burning a playlist to Audio CDs. It was a 2 disc set. While iTunes was busy burning the first disc, I navigated to another play list, and looked at some stuff. Then I went to my Party Shuffle to see what was coming up (as this was already playing before I started the burn of the other playlist).
Then, the first disc completed and ejected itself. At this point, iTunes usually asks for another disc. But not this time. I put in another CD, but I was prompted by the system for action. It appears that if one navigates away from the playlist that you are burning, it breaks like this. In a previous 2-disc set I burned, I did not change the source (navigate away) and all operates as it should.
Anyone else experience this? Do you think it warrants a bug report?
    Beavis2084

    I think this is worth a bug report - unless there's a
way that you can start burning from the second CD
    again
I looked and looked for a "resume" function, no joy.

  • Continues audio hick-ups iMac Marantz SR6004

    Hi,
I recently bought the Marantz SR6004 receiver which has a bluetooth receiver (rx101) for wireless audio which works great with my iPhone 3GS and Dell inspirion laptop. Today I tried to do the same thing with my iMac (early 2008).
The connection was easily set up, the iMac sees the rx101 and reads it out as a stereo audio device. When I started iTunes however I continuously had hick-ups and also the audio seemed to be faster and then halt for 0,5 second and then tries to catch up. So something must be wrong but I've looked at all the possible settings but the hick-ups were still there. I also noticed that the cpu usage is a lot higher when streaming audio, around 14% instead of 5% with peaks above the 20%.
No other applications or connections were open at the time I tried.
Other bluetooth devices run smoothly on my machine and the receiver also works well. Does anyone know how to tackle this issue?

  • How can I change the video but continue audio from the first clip?

I have a clip of a guy playing the guitar.  I want to cut away and show clips of the audience..... so how do I separate the audio and video so that we still hear him playing as the video clip changes?  I do hope it's easy!!! :-)  Thank you for any help.

bnn is right. Also make double sure you have turned on the Advanced Tools under the iMovie Menu > Preferences. Choose the General Tab and click the checkbox beside Show Advanced Tools. This will enable that pop-up menu that includes Cutaways as an option.

  • Continuous audio on interactive indesign file

    Hi AGAIN, lol
I have created a simple document using 10 layers. Each layer has its own graphic which does its own interactive thing. When i preview the file it works great, now however i would like to put a short piece of audio over the top of my 10 second animation. I thought this would be easy!!
I have placed my audio into my document and assumed simply by placing the audio at the top of my timing list and clicking 'LOOP' would play the audio over the interactuve stuff. The audio does play and then once finished the other stuff then kicks into life.
I know i can link the audio in the timing panelle but that requires me to link to everything which isnt possible because it then ruins my mini slideshow if you like.
My construction is basic: 1 document - 10 graphics on there own layer (10 layers) - each graphic doing there own interactive bit
    Cheers all
    Andy

    finally cracked it.
Created a simple button and job done.

  • Is there any method to remember the running subtitle and audio stream when navigating through menus?

    I have a language Menu named 'Setup' with 4 buttons 1.English  2.Spanish  3.Spanglish  4.Subtitle Off.
To reach this page you have to hit Setup button on Main Menu. The setup button takes to a sub-menu of Setup where I have a symbol of 'tick' at Subtitle Off indicating the state of the current subtitle stream. I have 3 more sub-menus with similar buttons but with 'tick' at different languages indicating the state of the current running/selected language, 2nd page has English with tick, 3rd page has Spanish with tick and 4th has Spanglish with tick. My client wants me to jump on the respective language ticked page when you hit the setup button on Main Menu. As far as I understand we cannot assign a code in Encore to a single button to read what subtitle stream is running.
Is there any method to remember the running stream when navigating through menus?
I have done this in Sonic Scenarist.
    Regards,
    A Gandhi

I think this was added in a "newer" version of Encore (meaning anywhere from CS4 up). In any event, it is available in Encore CS6.
There is a menu (not button) property that allows yoi9u to make the active subtitle track button the default (i.e. selected/highlight shows) just as you want.

  • HT201109 When I download my Final Cut project onto a DVD 3-4 photos are continually repeated throughout the presentation. If played back via the computer there is no problem

When I download my Final Cut pro project onto a DVD about 3-4 photos are continually repeated throught the presentation. If I play back via the computer this does not happen. It is the same photos repeated. I have taken loop off from view. Any assistance ?

I have two projects one with DVD and photos and the other just photos. The DVD is 20 mins and the photos just 8 mins.
I have tried to burn from the share dropdown menu  ( DVD ) in FCXP and also tried download to media browser then used DVD creator to produce the DVD but the problem exists with both actions. I deleted the repeated photos from the presentation but another 3-4 different photos repeat. I hope this makes some sense .

  • Continual Audio Configuration error

Every time I open iTunes I get an error saying "iTunes has detected an audio configuration problem" I have downloaded Quicktime and that fixes it only for that session. If I close iTunes, or if I shut down my PC, the next time I open iTunes the error happens again. It is very frustrating! There must be a program that is conflicting somehow, but I don't know where to start. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have done this 100 times! Downloading uninstalling and reinstalling Quicktime doesn't help. It only fixes it for that session. When I close iTunes and open it up again (without turning off PC), I get the configuration error.

  • Continued audio issue with iphone

So, I reported on here about a month ago how using headphones with my iPhone was a problem because sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't I was "informed" by some readers that it was a third party headphone issue etc and so forth.
Yet, I've been using the offical headphones since and I'm still having the same issue. SOMETIMES I can't hear audio, sometimes I can. There's no replicatable circumstance that causes it. Restarting it doesn't fix it, and to make matters worse, any time I can't hear through them while making a phone call, I can turn on the iPod and hear everything just fine.
Clearly this is a software issue and it's really leading me to ditching my iPhone. There's no excuse for this.
It's bad enough to have to deal with AT&T's shoddy service (dropped calls, late voicemails, terrible EDGE service) but to have to deal with this on top of it makes me wish for the days of my RAZR.

I have the same problems with my 3GS which is just over 2 years old now.
I have updated to ios5.0.1but there is no improvement. The problems started a couple of months ago (ios4..) but is now getting more frequent.
It seems to crash most often after I open an app that uses location services so I have just turned that off to see over a couple of days if this is the cause.
Often, like yours, the battery is displayed as empty and requires plugging in to restart it and then a few minutes later the battery is displayed as nearly full!
Did you resolve your problems in the end? My next step is to maybe replace the battery or as a last resort buy the new 4GS but I really wanted to wait for the next model before replacing this one.

  • WVC80N and loud continuous audio static

Looks like I'm suffering from the same complaint as some other people.  Just hooked up a new WVC80N and all I can hear on the audio is a loud stuttering static that drowns out all other sounds. I am connected using Wireless N over a Netgear WNDR3700 and using the latest camera firmware.  This did not happen on my old wvc54gca.

Connect the camera to the router with the Ethernet cable and check the audio noise.
If same thing is happening with the wired connection also then try reset the camera for 30 sec..
Power cycle the camera. and then reconfigure it again.
Match the wireless settings as same as you have on the router.
Use the camera on a static ipaddress..
Make sure the ipaddress should not be from the DHCP range.
Open the  Alternate Web Access Port on the camera ( By default the port is 1024 .. Change the port to 1025 )
And open the same port on the router setup as well..

  • Continuous Audio Recording while Slide Viewing?

Is there a way to be watching the various slides, in a
continous manner, and record a continous audio track? This would be
similar to the video and audio editing in an AVI movie format? That
    I am used to.
I see that I can record new audio per slide but I have not
found the way to be watching the slide presentation and have new
audio being recorded at the same time..............in "real"
    time.

Thanks for the info, I checked it out and it was all in order. After a little more experimenting, I came up with this:
-Yes, the mixer is set to 44.1kHz / 16 bit.
-No noise is present if GarageBand is running and the mixer is on, until the AAudio-Technica mic is plugged into its lead.
-Upon leaving the lead in the mixer, but removing the mic from the other end, the noise stops
-My little no-brand condenser doesn't give the same problem, even when using the same lead.
This leads me to believe that the problem could be with the microphone or GarageBand, even though I tested the mic and mixer together without a computer and they sounded fine. Possibly a missing driver, or just a general incompatibility? I'll try my setup in a sec on our laptop, which has GarageBand '11. I'm also using Phantom Power to run both mics, could this pose a problem?
    Thanks

  • Continuing charge for "free" Navigator

I just sent the following message to Verizon about a service and charge that I've asked to have deleted over and over again.  Anyone else have problems like this with billing?
"I keep getting charged $9.99/month for a service that I've cancelled multiple times and in multiple ways (online, by email, on my phone, etc.).  I was given a "free" month of Navigator when I purchased my phone in June.  I cancelled it within the required 30 days.  But it keeps showing up on my bill.  TAKE IT OFF!!!!! and don't charge me anymore.  I'm tired of having to notify you every month about this to get a credit.  This will teach me to take anything that's labeled "free!"  I'll be posting this on your blog so everyone can see how you treat customers.  Give me back my AllTel - they did a much better job of customer service."

I do not know if you can, but if so, delete the program off the phone also. But yes trying to get things done, the first time, with many companies can be difficult. Instead of trying the option for billing, try tech support Option 3. Rarely a hold time and they can offer credits and 'flip the switch' sorta speak.
Last week they cancelled a replacement phone that I had been told was shipped and gave me a credit for the hassle.
