Continuous installation error using acrobat XI standard, will change back to foxit

I try to install acrobat XI standard from DVD on a PC running on Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit.
An error occurs after successful installation and update of the registry (4 seconds remaining)
The complete error message is:
An error occured during the installation of assembly component {76C3F0F6-9B9D-35DA-81C6-CA8A88CC93CA} HRESULT 0x80070002
The proposed links to help topics for unrelated error codes were not useful. After buying a standard software, I expect qualified support.
My impression is a severe quality problem in the technical support of Adobe.
Maybe you can forward this messge to someone with better knowledge of installation problems.

Hi ,
Could you please share the screen shot of the error message?
Is there any exit code mentioned in the error message along with 76C3F0F6-9B9D-35DA-81C6-CA8A88CC93CA} HRESULT 0x80070002 ?
Hope you have performed all the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the referring documents for this error .

  • Can't convert files to pdf using Acrobat 8 Standard or 9 Pro

I am having a major problem. I have tried converting both Word 2003 and Excel 2003 documents to pdf using Acrobat 8 Standard (I can't recall which version because I uninstalled and installed a trial version of Acrobat 9 Pro) and Acrobat 9 Pro. I have tried to convert directly from the open document and through Acrobat using create from file. In every instance the process starts and then stops after a few moments. When I try the conversion from within Acrobat, I get the following error message: " Pdf conversion failed, please correct the error and retry." When I try the conversion directly from Word or Excel, the conversion starts, stiops suddenly and gives no error message.  I have had Acrobat 8 Standard installed for a couple of years. It worked fine on this computer until the problem started a week ago or so. There have been no software or hardware changes that woudl trigger suspicion.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the 8 Standard version. I have uninstalled the 8 Standard version and installed the 9 Pro trial version. I have run the repair module on both versions. I'm sure it is something simple but I just can't figure out what the "error" is that I need to "correct". Any suggestions?
As an aside, I have several Adobe programs (Photoshop CS5, Contribute 3 and Acrobat), all of them expensive. Their business model of offering no unpaid support (even for this type of problem) is one reason I hate Adobe more than Microsoft... but I rant.

When you uninstalled, you should have used the MS Installer Cleanup utility. It cleans up a lot of the junk left over in the registry. You should have also deleted the Acrobat folder. Then you would reinstall. You did not indicate your OS and it may be that you need to update the AA8 to get it to work correctly. Also, the installs and uninstalls can mess up your registration process if you are not careful. If you uninstall the AA9 trial, you will not be able to reinstall it for use. At this point, I can only suggest you do a repair of your installation and be sure you have all of the updates.

  • How Can I Create a Print Button on a PDF Using Acrobat Pro That Will Also Work on iOS?

I created a Print Button on a PDF document using Adobe Acrobat Pro on my Mac.  The Print button works perfectly on different browsers on my Mac and on Windows (running under Parallels Desktop) as well.
When I open the document on my iPad the Print button doesn't even appear.  I am guessing that this is a Flash issue but it may be more related to the fact the the action for the button is to access the Print menu item, which doesn't exist under iOS.
Is there any way to create a Print button using Acrobat Pro that will work on a Mac and Windows but also on iOS?

In order to initiate printing by clicking a button, the button has to have either an "execute menu item" type action or use the "print" JavaScript method. As you guessed, the former won't work since there are no menu items to execute, and the latter can only work if the particular PDF viewer you're using supports it. I'm not aware of any that do on iOS.
The button doesn't appear because you're probably opening it in the default PDF viewer, which doesn't support forms at all. If you were to open the form in Adobe Reader, you'd see the button but it wouldn't work.

  • Using Acrobat 9 Standard on desktop running Win 7 32Bit - and an HP1536dnf MFP  -  Scanner function

Using Acrobat 9 Standard on desktop running Win 7 32Bit - and an HP1536dnf MFP  -  Scanner function won't run - message states that driver missing  - have tried to re-load original software many times from CD and download from HP website - that times out.  Have tried many times to load in just driver - won't load-in.  Have tried the unplug from power source and turning off firewall.  Nothing works.  Paid a lot of money for Acrobat and very helpful tool when I was running WinXP, but out of business since loading Win7 . . . . . . . Please help?

That sounds you are having a problem with the scanner driver, not Acrobat.  Are you installing the Windows 7 drivers with the correct bitness?

  • Converting PDF to JPG using Acrobat XI Standard

I know I can convert a PDF into a JPG using Acrobat Pro but I'm wondering if I can do the same using Acrobat XI Standard.  The only thing I've read online is that Standard can convert PDFs into Excel, Word or Power Point docs.

Yes, you can do this with Acrobat XI Standard. The only export feature that is not available in Std. is the ability to convert to PowerPoint.

  • Using Acrobat 8 Standard, XI reader got auto-loaded now can't combine files

I was using Acrobat 8 Standard for a while (mainly to combine files).  Recently, my Microsoft updates automatically loaded Acrobat Reader XI and now I can't combine files anymore.  Is upgrading to Acrobat XI Standard a free download?  If not, do I just need to uninstall Acrobat XI reader?  Help would be appreciated as I use the combine files feature frequently.  Thank you.

I really don't get the feeling that it was Adobe Reader which broke the functionality. But if you think it was, you can uninstall it and see if that works. I would rather suggest repairing Acrobat 8 from Control Panel.
If you already have the serial number of Acrobat 8 std, you can upgrade to Acrobat XI standard by paying the upgrade cost which is just $139. Acrobat XI is more robust and efficient. It also comes with many new features. To get more details please visit www.adobe.com/products/acrobatstandard.html

  • If I use Acrobat XI Pro, will I be able to save the document in Word?

If I use Acrobat XI Pro, will I be able to save the document in Word?

The answer is maybe. A lot depends on how the PDF was created and what is there. If it was created using PDF Maker in WORD, you can probably recover it almost perfectly. If it was a scan that has been OCR'd, it may depend on the fonts that are used with the OCR. So the answer is generally yes, but the quality of the result can be anywhere from great to pitiful.

  • Acrobat 8 Standard will not apply transform file during installation

I also posted this in the Acrobat form before I noticed this Enterprise Installation forum.
I am using the Adobe 8 customization wizard to create an MST file for Acrobat 8 Standard. The MST file disables automatic updates, Acrobat Connect and several other items, however, when I run the install with the transform, none of the changes in the MST are applied. I am using the following command inside a batch file:
    msiexec /i acrostan.msi TRANSFORMS=ACROSTAN.MST /qb
I am using the Standard files downloaded from Adobe's secure site, which were then unzipped and used with the customization wizard. I did not create an administrative installation point, as that earlier attempt also resulted in not applying the transform.
I believe the transform file is correct, as I found the above command will work the second time I try to install Standard, but does not work the first time Standard is installed using the MST file.

can you post your transform somewhere? take out the serial number before posting. You might also want to create an install log.

  • Windows 7 installation error using bootcamp

windows7 installation error then i try to restore my MBP mid 2012 on HD Restored but  its only continues Loading and Loading nothing happen almost 5 hours i try twice same happen.Someone can help me to restored my MBP any idea?

I think people have detested like me the Metro changes but then I just hit a key and I am back to desktop - it runs better and smoother and 8.1 has made booting to desktop option one of the first things you can set and it walks you through it.
OEM is fine, cannot transfer to another computer is all, and I would follow the "a newer version" link.
Windows 7 even with SP1 is 3 yrs old, and a lot of tweaking and improvements went under the hood.
See if you can google a review of games under 8/8.1 that you use.
Buy now might even want to see if there are or will be any free upgrades to 8.1 or not.

  • Acrodist.exe installation error during Acrobat XI pro intallation. WIN 7

I purchased and downladed Adobe Acrobat XI Pro Student and Teacher Edition (Windows,English) Acrodist.exe error during installation. Installation completes but I cannot open acrobat or any of its other utilities. Uninstalled using CC including registry and installed again with my firewall and antivirus turned off.....No luck! .

    Dear Amish,
I generated the msi.log file as you lined out.
It is with 16kB rather long, so I just have posted the last couple of MSI (C) messages.
Let me know if there is a way to upload the complete file if you are interested.
Of course, A-IX does not start, same problem as before despite of the Installer
coming back as Installation finished successfully.
So far no word from the Adobe Tier 2 team.

  • Acrobat 9 Standard will not download.

I place an order for Acrobat Standard...........but the sofdtware will not download to my PC.
    Any ideas as to why????
    Dick

Kimg68365882 did you purchase Acrobat 9 Standard from Adobe directly?  If so and you choose to download the software instead of receive a CD then please see Find a download link on Adobe.com.
If you originally received the software on CD then please use a computer with an optical drive to copy the contents of the CD to a USB drive.

  • How to use Acrobat 9 standard to create a PDF form that an Acrobat reader can save

    Hi,
I'm evaluating Acrobat 9 standard edition. I want to create a PDF with a form that allow Acrobat Reader users to fill in the form and save to their local machine.
I looked at "Can I save a filled out PDF form using the free Adobe Reader? "
However, it refers to version 8 and has a link to another page that states to look in Acrobat 8 help. Well I can't anything for how to create right-enable PDF in the help.
How can I do this in Acrobat 9?
    Thanks.

I think that the right's enabling was added to AA9 Std. It was not part of AA8 Std as far as I know. However, you need to read the restrictions on the use of the reader rights. There is a 500 form use limit. If you exceed that limit you are supposed to contact Adobe for negotiations for further use. I do not think those restrictions have changed with AA9, but read the EULA to check it out.

  • Document Message Bar does´t shown up in shared review using Acrobat 9 Standard
