Continuous play burning

i am trying to import songs from final vinyl into itunes and then burn them so that the cd will play continually with no pause between tracks. everything works fine except for some reason i can't figure out how to get rid of the pauses. i am using itunes 6.0.1 and i can't upgrade to 7 because my computer's ethernet connection is broken. any suggestions?

hi swinter!
you could try the "join CD tracks" option. here's the relevant entry from the itunes help:
iTunes for Windows 6.0 Help: Adding songs from CDs to your library
if you run into trouble using that technique, this document might be helpful:
Join CD Tracks Command Is Dimmed

  • ** Need to create a continuous play DVD for show

I need to create a continuous play DVD to play at a convention.
I have created the iMovie project and believe there is a way to burn the disk in such a way that when the movie ends it will automatically begin from the beginning without intervening. How can I best do this?

In iDVD, select the button associated with the movie (or in the Map view, select the box assocated with the movie), go to Advanced menu, choose Loop Movie. The movie will loop forever until the user hit a button on the remote control.

    Hi brett242424,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The movie would be in your iTunes library, in the Movies application.  However, if the rental period has expired, you may need to contact the iTunes Store Support about your situation:

  • Shuffle and continuous play

I obviously don't understand how ATV2 using Home sharing works.  I have my ATV2 setup to share my iMac's iTunes Library. It shows up fine on the ATV2. What I have not been able to figure out is 2 things:
    1. How do I get a the ATV2 to continuous play everything in an album?  For the life of me Ican't figure it out?
    2. How do I use "Shuffle"  it appears to always be on (arrows are crossed?) Can you turn it off?   When I select shuffle withthe remote it starts to play one song but then stops (even though are more songs in the album, genre, etc.)  What am I doing wrong?
I'm feeling pretty dumb about this thing?

Got it. Ihad unchecked all the Holiday Music so it wouldn't sync to my iPhone.  re-checked them and it's all good.

  • Multiple songs within a chapter and continuous play from chapter to chapter

    Hi,
Struggling with two features: I played the tutorials at iDVD but I could not find answers to these questions.
    1) trying to get the DVD to continuously play all the different chapters without hitting the play button for each one.
Want to run in continuously for a birthday party so just want it to run.
Secondly. Some chapters have lots of pictures. How do I add multiple pieces of music to each chapter?
    Thanks

    1) trying to get the DVD to continuously play all the different chapters without hitting the play button for each one.
You have NOT created CHAPTERS - you have created a series of separate clips (or slideshows). DVD 'Chapters' are like chapters in a book - just entry points into longer content. There is no way in iDVD to like together such separate clips.
Secondly. Some chapters have lots of pictures. How do I add multiple pieces of music to each chapter?
It sounds like you are creating slideshows - is this correct? If so I suggest you create your slideshow in iPhoto or iMovie. This will give you many more options. Apple has tutorials for both iPhoto and iMovie that explain how to do this.

  • IPOD - Continuous play

I was given an older 40gb IPOD with lots of music. I bought an IHome clock radio to play the music. Problem: The IPOD will only play the song I selected before I put it into the Ihome cradle and when the song is finished it does not advance to the next song on the playlist. Is there a setting or such to cause the IPOD to continuously play, for example, all the albums and songs on the playlist?
    thank you.

I'm having the same trouble. With CD Audiobooks I have to change tracks every 3 minutes manually. With Audiobooks downloaded from Audible I have to change chapters... not a big deal there, but every 3 minutes is too much of a hassle. I didn't have this problem with the 5th generation IPod 30gig... They play continuously on ITunes, but not on the IPod. I've tried playlists, smart playlists, nothing works.

  • Itunes continuous play somehow disabled

I just set up a new pc, downloaded and installed iTunes, everything is working great... Except for some reason iTunes will not continuously play songs for some reason. Strange, I never really thought about it, but previously I would sort by Artist or Album. Double click on a song, and iTunes would automatically play the next song in the list when that song finished. Now it just stops after one song. I've highlighted an entire album, selected play, and it will still only play the first song in the list and stop. I am litterally at the point where I have to select one song at a time and it's getting REALLY old!
    Thanks for any help!

Make sure all the little boxes (next to each song) are checked. If not, you can do them all at once, just hold the CTRL key and click any one of them.

  • No continuous play in iTunes

Recently, when I'm in iTunes, I cannot get it to do continuous play in playlists or otherwise. It just plays one song and then stops. If I hit the fast forward button, the song stops. The songs are all checked, so that is not the problem. I've restarted the computer and that doesn't seem to help either.
We recently upgraded to Leopard. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Any help is much appreciated so I can listen to my Christmas music playlist in time for the holidays!

OK, I see I didn't read your post carefully enough, but the behaviuor your describe is typical of unchecked music.
I wonder if it is worth unckecking your tracks and then rechecking them.
Something else you might try is close iTunes and drag iTunes library.itl and iTunes Music library.xml somwhere convenient out side the iTunes music folder, then restart iTunes so you get a new library created - then add you music againa and see if the problem clears. This is just a test to see if there is something funny going on in the library. You can put the originals back afterwards.
I don't want to suggest anything more complex as I am a Windows person and I know nothing about macs.

  • STOP continuous play of songs in itunes Iphone4

    Talk about irritating! ha!
I DO NOT want continuous play of songs in Itunes ON MY IPHONE 4.  How can I stop this?
I tried unchecking ALL of my songs (entire library) in Itunes on my PC.....and that works for NOT having continuous play on the PC......and then I re-synced my Iphone....after deleting all music from the Iphone............ but the songs still play continuously.    I do not mean the library of songs is looped.   I know how to use the "repeat" functions.
I just want Itunes to stop playing music after ONE song.   I am using Iphone to perform music and need to talk in between songs.
    HELP!
    Thanks in advance
    ron

I suspect it is a feature very few people want. However, if it's important to you, you should let Apple know:

  • Continuous play and window minimize

I have not used my itunes for a while on my home computer. I play it at work almost every day. I came home tonight and turned it on and it plays one song and stops. I have to go and click on the next song. At work, it just plays various songs. I think I have it set to random at work. Tonight, I want it to play through the libray, in order by the album. But it just plays one song and waits for me to click on the next. Obvious someone (my son I would guess) has clicked on something to turn off continuous play. Under control, I see a choice for play, which I've chosen and it plays one song. I also clicked on the play arrow in the gray bar at the top, and it plays one song. Shuffle and repeat are options at the bottome of the control pull down menu.
How do I get to just play until I tell it to stop?
Also, when I click on the green button at the top left of the itunes window, to minimize the window down into the small gray box for the tiniest control, it doesn't shrink, it just jumps to the right about an inch. Each time I click the green button, it jumps left or right an inch or so, but does not shrink/minimize at all. How do I get that to work again? oh, I'm running itunes 9.0
I HATE it when kids, (even young adult kids) mess with my stuff and then are not home to help fix it!!!
    LOL
    Michellel

Look at the songs in your music library. If the small box left of the song's name does not have a checkmark, it will only play when you click on it. Normally, all your songs will have a check, except those you want to exclude, like Christmas songs when it's not the season.
You can checkmark all songs at once by holding the command key and clicking the box for one song.
If your iTunes is version 9.0, you can get the mini player by holding the option key while clicking the green button. If you upgrade to iTunes 9.0.1, the green button behavior is "fixed" to work as it always has. To upgrade, select "Software Update" under your Mac's  menu.

  • Continuous Play Has Stopped

    Hi-
This might be a really stupid question, but I can't find the option that would allow me to continuously play songs on my playlists. You see, before all the boxes were checked next to songs and now they're all unchecked, so I have to click a song if I want it to play rather than having it play automatically after the previous one. How do I get continuous play back?

Make sure all songs have a checkmark in front of them.

  • Continuous play - forever

Is it possible to configure a nano so that it will play forever? I would like to be able to use our nano as our music on hold system. However it seems that it will play through all the songs on the nano and then stop. I have it connected to a AC adapter so it should alway be running on AC power. I have it setup to shuffle songs but it seems to shutdown after about 12 hr's of continuous play. How should I have it configured to allow it to play forever? Thanks

Geinus! Thanks Brian, I'll let you know tomorrow if it works. If I come into the office tomorrow morning and it's still playing. Thanks

  • Songs won't continuous play in playlist on itunes, Please Help!!

Just recently when I try to play my music on my computer on itunes it won't continuous play in my playlists. Just one song at a time. I cannot figure it out. Can anyone help? Any suggestions?

The songs in this particular playlist are unchecked because they are all AAC conversions that I load on my nano. For normal iTunes use, I have my songs in 320 kps. mp3s--but the files are too big for the Nano. So I keep this playlist, and uncheck the songs so I don't have duplicates playing in my regular libary. The songs don't play when checked and unchecked are together, but when it's just the complete unchecked song list they play in random order continuously until I stop them manually.
good lord ... i don't believe i've ever seen that reported before. (no real surprise, i guess ... how would people realise that something strange was happening if it was happening to them? that would keep report levels down ...)
can anyone else replicate samdogmom's itunes behavior?
    love, b
ps: didn't we talk months ago about upgrading to NIS 2006? if so, how's that treating you?

  • ITunes starts fast forwarding tracks after 1hours continuous play?

Hi I have recently updated windows XP on my computer to service pack three. After this update when I am listening to iTunes it suddenly started playing the songs in my library too quickly as if it was stuck on fast forward.
If you stop itunes playing then press play or select a different track it continues to play too fast. The only way to fix the problem is to close itunes and re-open it.
I have now found that this problem starts after iTunes has been playing music for just over an hour, so currently I'm having to close and re-open itunes ever hour to keep listening to music.
Any Idea why this might be happening?
I'm running XP SP3, 3GB ram, 3GHz processor, 200GB HD no where near full. Its iTunes version 8.2.1.6.
    Thanks
    Liam

Anyone else have this problem? I have now timed the problem to exactly 1hour 9minutes of continuous play, so if you play for 30 mins, pause for 15 then play iTunes starts fastforwarding 39 minutes later.
