Continuous play of items in playlist

When I play a song or video from a playlist, Apple TV plays the song or video and then goes back to the menu. What do I have to do for all the songs or videos to play one after the other continuously, like they do on my iPod?

This might be a really stupid question, but I can't find the option that would allow me to continuously play songs on my playlists. You see, before all the boxes were checked next to songs and now they're all unchecked, so I have to click a song if I want it to play rather than having it play automatically after the previous one. How do I get continuous play back?

Make sure all songs have a checkmark in front of them.

Spotify on iPhone continues playing after removing output device (f.e. headphone, airplay speaker)

I like Spotify and the built-in playlists a lot! But since one of the last version, I annoys me from time to time. Hope you can fix this! Common situation: I stream music at home from Spotify App on iPhone to an airplay speaker. When leaving home and losing the connection to the airplay speaker, Spotify automatically stopped playing in former versions which was great and common to other music apps on the iPhone! Now, since one of the last updates, Spotify continues playing, f.e. on the iphone speaker, when the former speaker is no longer available, f.e. headphone or airplay speaker. Meaning, it continues playing in your pocket when leaving home. Other music apps stop playing when you remove the audio output. Which is the known and wanted behaviour on iOS. Another fancy thing:1. Stream music to an airplay speaker2. Plug in headphone, music continues on the headphone3. Remove headphone, music continues on the airplay speaker4. Remove airplay speaker or leave the network, music continues playing on the iPhone speaker Ugh. :/ The Apple Music App on iPhone for example stops playing when losing the output device (airplay, headphones, ...).It might be a feature in the Spotify App to keep music running but please offer a setting to keep iPhone standard to stop when removing speakers. Moreover, and this is really annoying, this new feature makes Spotify to continue playing even if the playlist has not been synchronised for offline playback. Means, it automatically eats your included cellular traffic when you leave your WiFi. :((( Could you please fix this? Or add a setting to not continue playing music on any output device radically? THANKS!

Continuous play of playlist

I have loaded playlists from iTunes, but the iTouch would not play the music in the playlist in a continuous mode, but will play only the selected song in the playlist. ANyway to make iTouch play songs in a continuous mode in a a playlist?

Hi Arul,
I think you have the "Repeat playlist" turned on. To turn it off, just play any song from that playlist, click once on the album and another grey bar will appear at the top of the screen. Then click on the ⊂⊃ icon (top left corner), until it gets white.

Songs won't continuous play in playlist on itunes, Please Help!!

Just recently when I try to play my music on my computer on itunes it won't continuous play in my playlists. Just one song at a time. I cannot figure it out. Can anyone help? Any suggestions?

The songs in this particular playlist are unchecked because they are all AAC conversions that I load on my nano. For normal iTunes use, I have my songs in 320 kps. mp3s--but the files are too big for the Nano. So I keep this playlist, and uncheck the songs so I don't have duplicates playing in my regular libary. The songs don't play when checked and unchecked are together, but when it's just the complete unchecked song list they play in random order continuously until I stop them manually.
good lord ... i don't believe i've ever seen that reported before. (no real surprise, i guess ... how would people realise that something strange was happening if it was happening to them? that would keep report levels down ...)
can anyone else replicate samdogmom's itunes behavior?

I am back with an update. I turned off Match on both the ipad and the iphone 5. By doing so I was able to sync my Iphone and ipad to itunes and store the music on my devices rather than the slow streaming. So far this has fixed my problems with the iphone I have all my music, playlist, most of the album art and so on. But the ipad is a different story. I have the music and artist but not one playlist I am sure Apple will have an upgrade soon that will address these issues they are usually very good about this.
Now have any of you experienced another problem that has existed as long as I have used faces in Aperture.
I have over 200 faces and they are organized a-z problem is I have this going on A-Z folowed by a few that start over A-Z followed by another few A-Z and again a 4th time A-Z. Imagine how difficult it is while I am showing someone the great features of my iphone, ipad and imac. Which I do talk highly of all the time. But how do I explain that even though their name starts with a or b or what ever they are not important enough to me to be in the first list of A-Z or even the 2nd or 3rd list of A-Z someohow they are in the 4th section of the list!!!!
I have managed to get the Imac to fix this but for some reason the IOS devices do not. Any ideas?

You can start the playlist playing in the iPod app and then switch into the Photos app and start your (non-music) slideshow - as you've found out you can currently only select a single track in the Photos app. Whether that will change in iOS 5 I don't know, but you could try leaving feedback for Apple : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

How do I set up a playlist for tv shows on apple tv so it will continuously play

We have set up apple tv in a bedroom and want to be able to have a rolling list of tv shows to play during the night. How do I set up a playlist to continuously play one after another? The playlist was already created in iTunes on the computer and home sharing is turned on, but I can't seem to find the playlist on apple tv. And I can't see the menu on the remote app for my iPhone 4s. It says I can drag to scroll, but there are no graphics on the phone to see. Please someone help!

It also matters not where the media files are stored (laptop hard drive or network drive).
AppleTV relies on iTunes to stream local content.
Not the most environmentally friendly option but that's the way it is.

Not possible with an Exchange or IMAP account. All server stored mailboxes with an Exchange or IMAP account are kept synchronized with the server with each email client used to access the account.

IPOD - Continuous play

I was given an older 40gb IPOD with lots of music. I bought an IHome clock radio to play the music. Problem: The IPOD will only play the song I selected before I put it into the Ihome cradle and when the song is finished it does not advance to the next song on the playlist. Is there a setting or such to cause the IPOD to continuously play, for example, all the albums and songs on the playlist?

I'm having the same trouble. With CD Audiobooks I have to change tracks every 3 minutes manually. With Audiobooks downloaded from Audible I have to change chapters... not a big deal there, but every 3 minutes is too much of a hassle. I didn't have this problem with the 5th generation IPod 30gig... They play continuously on ITunes, but not on the IPod. I've tried playlists, smart playlists, nothing works.

No continuous play in iTunes

Recently, when I'm in iTunes, I cannot get it to do continuous play in playlists or otherwise. It just plays one song and then stops. If I hit the fast forward button, the song stops. The songs are all checked, so that is not the problem. I've restarted the computer and that doesn't seem to help either.
We recently upgraded to Leopard. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Any help is much appreciated so I can listen to my Christmas music playlist in time for the holidays!

OK, I see I didn't read your post carefully enough, but the behaviuor your describe is typical of unchecked music.
I wonder if it is worth unckecking your tracks and then rechecking them.
Something else you might try is close iTunes and drag iTunes library.itl and iTunes Music library.xml somwhere convenient out side the iTunes music folder, then restart iTunes so you get a new library created - then add you music againa and see if the problem clears. This is just a test to see if there is something funny going on in the library. You can put the originals back afterwards.
I don't want to suggest anything more complex as I am a Windows person and I know nothing about macs.

How To Stop Itunes From Continuous Play?

I'd like to only play one album at a time in Itunes on my computer but continuous play seems to be automatic and there are no options to control this in the Itunes preferences...?
I notice it happens a lot but it happens 100% of the time if I enter a name/style in the search bar of Itunes. For example if I enter "rock" in the Itunes search bar Itunes will play every single rock album even if I only pick a single album or even track to play.

I don't. I make them only for certain favorites I play a lot. I also use the search and let it bring up the person or songs I want and play from the playlist that way too. That is one thing I love about itunes. There are sooo many options for playing

I got a new PC. I was able to back up the old one and dowloaded my iTunes library. I keep getting a message that says: This computer is no longer authorized to play purchased items that are on this iPod." It asks me to authorize, which I have done 20 ti

My old PC died and I got a new one. I was able to back up the old PC and downloaded my iTunes library on the new PC. I keep getting a message saying: "This computer is no longer authorized to play purchased items that are on this iPod. Would you like to authorize this computer for the items purchased from the iTunes store?" I have authorized the new PC, but it continues to ask me over and over, and if I authorize it again, it tells me I already authorized. So frustrating! I deactivated the old PC and activated the new one.
Also, I purchased a song from iTunes store and while it shows in my library on the PC, it won't download to the iPod. Why won't the new song download to the iPod?

I am trying to sync my iPad to my computer. When I do, I am told that "This computer is no longer authorized to play purchased items that are on the iPad"

I am trying to sync my iPad to my computer. When I do, using either WiFi or USB connection, I receive the following message: "This computer is no longer authorized to play purchased items that are on the iPad "XXX". Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store?" I have deauthorized and reauthorized repeatedly, and even trashed the SC folder, but the symptom continues. I am using OS 10.9.3. iOS 7.1.1, and iTunes 11.2.2. Suggestions/solutions would be welcome!

How can you create a playlist with music and music video and play those from same playlist through Apple TV?

How can you create a playlist on Ipod touch with music and music video, and play those from same playlist through Apple TV? I can download, create a playlist with both music and music video, stream that through the Apple TV with no problem. The sound and the information show up on the TV, but when it gets to a music video, it only shows the information and "artwork".
I also have a video playlist - videos play fine through the Apple TV, but will not shuffle through all videos - continues to repeat the same one. I have most definitely selected shuffle in both locations - from the playlist and on the ipod video screen while video is playing.

I finally got it... had to sync the photos with the music in iMovie, arrange the voiceover in GarageBand then export to iTunes, and then I was able to put it all together in iMovie and burn in iDVD... had a few glitches along the way but finally finished : )
