Continuous Restart and Optimizing Apps
Officially updated to Android Lollipop 5.1.1 last week.Been in good condition until I restarted the phone today.Now, whenever it's powered up, it optimizes apps, and restarts after optimizing is finished, without reaching lockscreen. I leave it like that for 3 hours hoping it will solve itself, but it just keeps on restarting and optimizing repeatedly.Have to switch off by the button beside the sim card slot.Tried to fix it with SonyPC Companion but it's not detected when connected to laptop.Your help is truly appreciated.
Performing a software repair using PC Companion.The process will erase all internal memory.You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 80% battery.
Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).
Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you might need to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 (in some cases XP).

Is there a way I can make my iPod stop restarting and be recognized by my computer so I can continue to use it?
Hello GraceSchaff
Try putting your iPod Classic into Disk Mode and then in iTunes click restore when it shows up to take care of that process again.

i have just bought a ipad air 2 weeks ago from a tmobile store and the day i got it, it started turning off which i though was normal since it was the first day and my second device so i had it the first week went by and it continued to happen after that it got more serious and i got made i took it back to tmobile they said to take it to apple and i did inboca raton the people there are nice but what ever they did only stoped it from happening for a while i came back the same week a day later saying i contined to happen and they said did u delete the apps and i told the person i had no apps on thier he/she was supprised and said if he could run a web search and a dianositcs report i said sure he didnt find anything wrong but it turning off on the apps i also know that the device (ipad air) should have a good amount of memmory and that the main reason it turns off is because it has a 64 bit prossessor with a 1GB Ram so i turns off but their is a way to make it work fluentlly without turning off you have to connect it to iyunes on a PC or MAC and restore your device so that it repairs itself after that u have to manually redownlaod all the apps again and not use icloud to back up when u are done redownlaoding then u have to backup and then hopefully it will work fine but i cant connect to itunes so i later retuned that same day trying that and told him/her that it didnt work and the idea that i tried and he/she said that he can replace it if i brought the box so i said no i didnt bring it please fin a solution so i can connect to itunes its only 2 weeks old and i dont want a new one so fast
When my phone crashed for the first time I noticed that the ios update 6 was on my phone and i updated it at that moment... it still continues to not work... i now have a grey screen saying activation request could not be completed. if problem persists contact customer care. I cannot get to the home screen or any of my settings. I have been trying to contact but i think i was to late and to early this morning to reach anyone.
When i connect my ipnone to itunes there is no music, no apps, no photos, no updates or any thing that I can see..... it says that softwware version 5.1... does that mean that my phone did not update ios 6?
I can't get to any options or different screens on my phone either, just the grey screen i spoke about before.....
you spoke of downloading from apple directly does that mean on my iphone or my computer?
thanks:) -
Launchd cancels logout/restart and kills app when using screen sharing
I have an app I want to always run so I created a LaunchDaemon to keep it going:
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>Label</key>
<string>com.sns.sentinel.air</string>
<key>KeepAlive</key>
<true/>
<key>ProgramArguments</key>
<array>
<string>sh</string>
<string>/Applications/oc4j/restartSentinel.sh</string>
</array>
<key>RunAtLoad</key>
<true/>
</dict>
</plist>
And restartSentinel.sh is very simple:
echo Process Sentinel.app is being restarted...
open -W /Applications/oc4j/j2ee/home/applications/Sentinel/Sentinel.app;
Everything seems to be fine but I have to access this machine via screen sharing. Then when I log in, the app gets shut down and only restarted a few minutes later. Also, when another user logs in, they are not able to log off. Launchd seems to cancel the restart.
I do also have two other plist files running other things but they seem to work okay (they don't crash, but the one which needs to be kept alive (code is almost the same as above) also seems to be preventing log out for users other than me).
So how can I get launchd to let people use screen sharing without killing the app and how can I get it to stop canceling logot/restart?Try the Unix forum (not thread) under OS X Technologies.

Sudden continuous restart and shutdown
I have an iMac G5 and today, I heard it restart itself in the other room. It would restart even during the startup chime, cutting the chime off. It kept restarting, for several minutes. I unplugged it, took out all the plugs from the ports on the back, etc. Now it won't even start up, failing at the moment the little gear shows up under the apple on the startup screen. It shuts down.
I reset the SMU, to no avail.
Any thoughts? Or is my iMac DOA?I am having similar problems, it restarts if I wake from sleep. I shut it down when I went out of town and barely got it restarted, it took several tries. Now it is running but I have it set so it never goes to sleep and the fan runs all of the time.
I looked at that page regarding the extended warranty and while my serial number falls in the range, when I called the Apple certified shop here they said my computer was not one under the warranty. They would have to look at it and see what is the problem. I mentioned the capacitor problem and they told me if I want to open it up I should look for puffy capacitors. The fix could be just those capacitors or a new motherboard. Which by then it is better just to get a new one.
I am afraid to turn my iMac off in case like Rob it just won't come back on. Meanwhile I am backing everything up.
It is strange though that several of us are having the same problem at the same time. -
Why my iPad Air always restarts and the apps close!?
When I'm using Safari somehow it closes itself, it happens me minimum once a day. And sometimes it happen to me that I am using it normally and suddenly the apple logo appears and it restarts. This is kind of frustrating to me what can I do, who can I call?
Hello Alfonsocastillo,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information, take a look at:
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings

I've tried different cables, different USB ports, still nothing. Any help is appretiated.
Any numbers or other details on the mesages given?
Did you try to connect in recovery mode again? iOS: Unable to update or restore

My Macbook Pro continually restarts and occasionally will start up. Version 10.9.5 Processor: 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 Memory: 8GB 1067 MHZ DDR3 Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 512 MB
It suddenly happened and I am unsure why. I had apple run diagnostics and it seemed to fix it temporarily. I reformatted the computer and have absolutely no download programs on it. It was running okay and then suddenly began restarting. Once it finally booted back up I was shown this error report. Any help is greatly appreciated in advance, truly thankful for this forum.

I have an iPad 1 that continually kicks me out of Facebook, some games, and Internet searches.
Hey there Larry,
It sounds like your iPad is closing your apps without notice. I would start by closing all the running apps on the iPad first:
iOS: Force an app to close
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that and restart the phone and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Take care,
Sterling -
I have restarted holding gown the sleep button and done a hard restart using the home and sleep at the same time. I reset all my settings. My screen continuously switches from different apps and screens. In text it randomly selects letters. This happened once a few weeks ago but only lasted a couple hours. This time it's been more than 24 hours. I use it for my business so it's vital I have it working. Thanks for your help
You need to restore using iTunes you last sync with.

My mail app doesn't seem to open. It starts but then it kicks me out. I have tried restarting the device and the app but it makes no difference. Its telling me i have 2 messages but i cant get in to read them. Has anyone had this trouble before?
Close the Mail app in the Task Bar and re-launch.
Double-click the Home button to reveal Task Bar. Hold Mail app down for a second or two; tap the minus sign to close app.
If it still doesn't work, try a reset.
Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. -
So after install of Mountain Lion (never happened before) my desktop crashes and it returns me to the login screen. After I login I have to restart all my apps.
One morning this happened 5+ times in under an hour. So my productivity has gone down :-(
I work around this by only running three apps (finder, terminal & firefox), and then it sees to only happen 2-3 times a day...sigh.
The only other odd thing and have no idea if it is related is that firefox was showing some animated image from the olympics and when I had it on one screen it was fine, when I had the window on the other screen, the image was not the right image, it looked like it had reached into the screen buffer of other applications and was displaying that (e.g. where there was a scrolling flame for the right image, there was some scrolling upside down text from my terminal when I had it on the other screen where the flame was supposed to be).
An help on how to debug/solve would be helpful.You're welcome. If you use Zoom often try the new show controller feature. It's below where you turned zoom off. Once you turn it on you can use it to turn Zoom on and off. Plus you can use zoom as a magnifying glass instead of full screen.

I have multiple Windows Server 2008 R2 machines in which I am attempting to do an in place upgrade to 2012 R2, and it is repeatedly failing.
Setup gets all the way through, and it says Getting ready, followed immediately by an error saying: Setup can't continue. Your computer will now restart, and your previous version of Windows will be restored.
I am attempting to install:
Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter (Server with GUI)

I have found several posts, many discussing how disk space can be an issue, I have increased disk space so it shouldn't be an issue. I have also made sure the only only partition on disk 0 is C: and system reserved.
I have disabled all unessential services and went through and removed all unessential applications, and extras. Still getting the error.

Any ideas on how I can resolve this, or further troubleshoot?I also had this error: "Setup cannot continue. Your computer will now restart, and your previous version of Windows will be restored."
trying to do a in-place upgrade of a Domain Controller Windows 2008 R2 to Windows 2012 R2.
The problem was the separated System Reserved Partition. After I removed using this instructions:
http://jacobackerman.blogspot.com/2012/12/how-to-remove-system-reserved-partition.html
The upgrade ran ok, and now have my DC as Windows 2012 R2.
Hope that helps!. -
Hi All
I have put mac os update from 10.9 to 10.9.5 from mac app store. Update wants restart and I do that. First it shows installing updates on monitor and then after waiting for more than 30 minutes, it did not restart. On monitor it shows no signal now. I have checked all the connections. Mac mini LED light is showing blue color and i think its signalled the ON mode. Also mouse lights are on. Please provide help, as I need to solve it asap.
ThanksBoot to recovery and first try repairing the startup disk via dis utility.
Next reinstall the OS via Recovery
