Continuously getting "Sync encountered an error while syncing: Unknown error."
I've been getting this for a while. What can I do to debug this?
I'm getting it on both of my PCs that I'm syncing - FF4, latest version on both.
Okay - I have some data from the about:sync-log.
Several rows with things like:
"1304887316234 Engine.Bookmarks WARN Error decrypting record: Record SHA256 HMAC mismatch: should be 53a0892f07a8139263869a520ed2af79e9abf00cbb3b44978dc34ee094c69ffd, is a5ca86a0f5b48b493ab5ee07b68ee3ad31697b927c92b53281039017c2e31659 No traceback available"
also:

(several pages of gibberish elided)
and numerous other lines of error.
If anyone wants to look into this, I'm happy to provide log file info for them to look into...

When downloading photos I get "LR encountered and error when reading from its preview cache --?
When attempting to download images I get "LR encountered an error when reading f rom its preview cache and needs to quit. Only downloads ~ 10 of 300 photos and shuts down. What to do?
Have you tried to delete the preview cache?

Thanks -If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

I am unable to print anything from an internet web page. I continually get "printer not activated, error code- 30" followed by "An unknown error occurred while printing". I can copy the material from the web page, place into a Word document and then print. This just started yesterday and I have no idea why. Would appreciate your advice!

Facetimer: server encountered an error processing registration

This morning, I had no problem signing on to my FaceTime on my Macbook Pro. Later, I updated my IPhone 4's software to the latest version, and now my Macbook Facetime isn't working. When I try to login, I get "Server encountered and error processing registration. Try again later." I've tried changing my password, and I'm still getting the message. What am I missing?

I had the same problem, I guess Facetime must have access to your current location and time, just make sure you check "Set time zone automatically using current location" box at System Preferences >Date &Time >Time Zone

Upgrading to 7.2 - "Spiceworks Encountered an Error"
I think you'll to go to 7.2 first
email [email protected] and they can get the 7.2 binary to you before you go 7.4I just tried to launch Spiceworks desktop and it immediately started an upgrade. The progress screen quickly goes from "Shutting down" to "Starting up". After 5 min or so, I get "Spiceworks encountered an error". Event logs don't show me much other than the service stopping and starting.
Any suggestions to get this to work? Is there a way to jump right to version 7.4?

Background: For work I routinely need to connect to a secure VPN that is completely isolated from the internet. When using it, I can only connect to the servers that reside within the network and the VPN software (Cisco AnyConnect + NAC Agent) seems to automatically redirect all http requests to external sites to a catch-all 'sorry you can't do that' page.
So while connected to the VPN, Firefox Sync doesn't work and nor do I expect it to. However, my issue is that every time I connect to the VPN, Firefox silently pops up a "sync encountered an error while syncing" error message bar at the bottom of the browser, which I have to manually close. This obviously isn't the end of the world, but having to do it all the time gets annoying so I was wondering if there was a way of suppressing that particular error message or maybe getting Sync to handle the secure VPN more gracefully.I don't know about blocking that message, but my suggestion is to turn Sync autoconnect off, and use Sync manually.

Hello Firefox support. I just started working on a 64 bit Windows 7 machine running Firefox 5 and am constantly getting the following Sync error: "Sync encountered an error while syncing: Unknown error. Sync will automatically retry this action." I can't find an accurate solution on the web. Please help!

I just loaded Firefox onto my laptop. I set up the the sync add on and had no errors. When I hit sync now I get "Sync encountered an error while syncing: Firefox sync server maintenance is underway, syncing will resume automatically." I have gotten this message for the last 10 hours. Should I wait or is there an issue with my setup? I checked the Mozilla sync server status and it listed no issues.
