thanks Dean

Thanks for the reply..
IE 9, ActiveX is opened to the point that Word opens the Doc.  I'm leaning towards a setting in word... there are about 7 or 8 users all set exactly the same as for OS IE and its internet options, Java version and version of Office... There are no other issues with the others just this one.
Thanks again,
Dean

  • BUG: ThinkVantage Password Manager and Word 2007 (possibly just on Windows 7)

    Hi,
With MS Support I have just been working though a problem with Microsoft Word 2007 on Windows 7 with Client Security Solutions 8.3 (which is Windows 7 compatible).
The problem is that in Word 2007 (and therefor emails in Outlook 2007) I cannot select text after pressing the Enter key for a new line.
After uninstalling/reinstalling office, removing printers, addins, templates, etc I have discovered that the problem goes away when I exit the Password Manager application.
I have tried adding winword.exe as an exception but that doesn't help. For now I have had to stop the Password Manager loading on startup.
Could Lenovo please advise with a fix for this issue.

Im having this Problem with my Mouse on Video games and other Applications!
I was going to try to do what you stated fixed the problem at First
The document suggests changing some registry values to
disable this high resolution behavior. Thus I did just
that and added the following 2 entries to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\HID\Vid_x
    xxx&Pid_yyyy\<instance_ID>\Device Parameters
    VScrollHighResolutionDisable = 1
    HScrollHighResolutionDisable = 1
However i cant seem to find
    VScrollHighResolutionDisable = 1
    HScrollHighResolutionDisable = 1
Am i suppose to Create them? Are they Dwords? or what If anyone could please message me on Skype Aaronroy12 if you have a Solution because i looked into everything under HID and
havent found anything! I dont really need the Other things that kinda broke it again i only need to Fix it to play Games in which it Messes up on!

  • Conversion anomalies with Acrobat Professional 8 and Word 2007

We recently upgraded to Word 2007 from 2003. I updated a Word 2003 document, as I do every year, with minimal changes. When I converted it to pdf with Acrobat 8.1.5, two unexpected things happened. One, none of the hyperlinks converted--they've always converted perfectly in the past. Two, numbers were inserted in front of each bookmark. They're sequential, starting at 0B for the Heading 1's and counting through the Heading 2's, then the 3's to 29B (the bookmarks are three levels). Here are some screen shots. One is with the unwelcome numbers, the other is how the bookmarks should look.
I went back to last year's document (the new document is simply that document renamed and updated) and converted it, and everything is fine. The only difference I know of in the two other than text changes is that last year's is file name extension is .doc and this year's is .docx.
Can anyone tell me why these numbers are appearing in the bookmarks and why the hyperlinks did not convert?
    Beth

Apologies to everyone--I managed to insert the wrong screen shot above. From reading further here, however, I see that you're all familiar with the problem. Adobe has not fixed it? My document is about as simple as they get. Hard to believe they would ignore such a widespread problem with even very basic conversions.

  • Officejet 6500 and word 2007 ctrl-p never prints just sits in the queue

just set up an officejet on a windows XP machine...and oddly, word 2007 won't print if i select file->print OR ctrl-P.
clciking the tiny printer icon to prit without a dialog box works fine.
but if i want just page one i can't do that from that click.
other applications seem to print fine.
when ctrl-P is plressed and ok selected on the following dialog box a print job appears in the printer queue and reads "spooling" but never comes out of the printer.
i altered the print queue to not spool and instead the job reads "printing" and never appears.
if i quit word with a job in the queue word gives me a warning that quitting word will cancel the printing jobs. and quitting word does just that, the jobs are removed from the queue.
...and just to be clear i can print fine if i click on the one click printing icon in the icon bar directly above the document and below the menu bar.
    what's the fix for this?
    thanks!

Well...the 'solution' I received from HP Support was to add a new printer (Deskjet 990C) and make it the default printer. Once I did that, all printing issues went away. The tech person did say there were some compatability issues between the Officejet 6500 printer and Vista, but would not elaborate.

  • Robohook.wll and Word 2007

Is RoboHook.wll necessary for Word 2007? Is RoboHook.wll necessary for RoboHelp 8 HTML or is it a leftover from earlier versions of RoboHelp?
I am using RoboHelp 8 HTML to generate WebHelp.
My Word 2007 documents (totally unrelated to my RoboHelp projects) have a global template called RoboHook.wll. My Word documents change the style formatting of my co-worker's documents when I open them.  My employees do not have and do not need RoboHelp.
If I were to remove RoboHook.wll, will it cause issues with RoboHelp 8 HTML?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
    Mark

    Peter,
    Thank you for your reply.
We are updating everyone to Word 2007. We have narrowed it down to my environment.
I still wonder if RoboHook.wll is necessary for RoboHelp8 HTML. Any ideas?
    Thanks again.
    I'll check back on Monday!

  • Acrobat 8.1.6 and Word 2007 - PDF printing problem

I have a weird problem with printing a word 2007 document to the Adobe PDF printer (distiller). I hope someone can help with this.
My two-page Word document has a background color, text, text boxes and two imported images (both under 500kb). Now, the problem is two-fold:
If the 'print background color' option is disabled (unchecked), the PDF looks okay, but the background color vanishes as does text within text boxes (the text boxes themselves appear fine).
If the 'print background color' option is enabled, the PDF shows only the background color, but no text!
In either case, the PDF generation takes an unusually long time.
I tried to follow the advices given in other threads, and looked for the presence of Acrotray.exe (it was present during the process). I also tried printing the document to a file (.prn), renaming the extension to .ps, and double-clicking it to send the job to distiller - every time with the same result.
I must mention that if I use Word 2007's own 'Save to PDF' feature, it generates a clean PDF without any problem. It is only the Acrobat Distiller that is giving me endless grief. Can someone knowledgeable please help me with this issue?

I have an update. This is even weirder. It turns out that after I generate the PDF and only the background color shows up, I can use the Touch Up Object tool to select the entire page (by clicking anywhere in the colored area), and press 'delete'. If I do this, parts of the background color gets deleted, revealing the text underneath - including the background color!!!!! And doing this repeatedly, I can remove this strange 'overshadow' and find everything (image, text, text box) intact underneath. I can do the same to the text box, and eventually, the missing text appears there.
I, of course, have to do this for every single page!
In summary, it is almost as if my text and images are being covered by a sheet with the same color as the background, which I am then removing part by part - with each stroke of the delete key - much like opening a . Strangely, this happens for each page except the last page (which prints fine - with images and texts etc.)
Does anyone have a clue about this?
Update: I hadn't seen the replies from Bill and Lori when I posted this. Thank you both for replying! I do think that the problem is with transparency, given what I found out just now (written here). However, I have tried different PDF settings, standard and high quality (this is the one I normally use), and yet I have had the same issue!

  • Acrobat Pro 9 and Word 2007

We've been using Pro9 in Office 2007 for about 12 months with no problems. Couple of weeks ago it hung up and after rebooting Acrobat had disappeared as a toolbar option. Excel is fine but not Word. Converting from scanner is also OK. Have uninstalled and reinstalled but cannot get Acrobat back in Word. If using Adobe menu and "create from file" it tells us that "PDF Maker Files are missing". I see that Office 2010 has a similar problem and wondered whether this was  Microsoft update problem, Anybody got any ideas?

  • Acrobat 8 Standard And Word 2007 Rotated Pictures

When I make a PDF file from Word, either printing with distiller or saving through the Save option, I get low quality pictures.
The pictures that havn't been rotated at all show up perfectly, however, pictures that I rotated 5 degrees or so for effect come out terrible - the quality is like a low low quality jpg and the edges are all jagged and uneven.
I used the standard settings, then I chose 400 dpi for the picture quality and highest jpg quality, and no resampling - and the pictures were still terrible.
This appears to be a bug in something in the adobe creation software.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks!

It doesn't matter what are the names of these forums. Major companies provide these *official* forums to harvest troubleshooting results of their products for free. You never be able to test your product on this number of various environment this much cheap.
Unlike their support services these "USER" forums provides them with those product issues they are looking for without ANY obligation to solve them or even accept their existence. And best of all they collect all these information at no cost.
However, in honest and considerate companies, development team members share their opinions with forum users. They even admit they are aware of issues but have no solution for them at this time. If team members do not have enough time for providing feedback, they somehow use *well-trained* individuals to discuss the issues.
Those companies do not "Read and Hide". They "read and discuss".
Anyway, unfortunatly, the links you found are not related to this discussion. They are about PDFMaker issue in other component of Office not Outlook.

  • Can't copy and paste between latest firefox and word 2007

I just posted about this a few minutes ago but forgot to mention it happens in both directions. I can't copy and paste anything from a screen in the latest firefox into word, and any links I copy from word do not copy into the address bar in firefox. Can someone help? I have Windows 7. This has been happening a couple of weeks.

Do you have the clipboard enabled or have a locked or user.js file?

  • I cannot copy and paste from Word 2007 into Firefox (gmail), and I cannot copy and paste from Firefox (URLs) into a word document.

Starting two days ago, I can no longer copy and paste between Firefox and Word 2007. I can copy within each program.

I had similar issues starting about the same time or within the past week. However, I can copy and paste, it just takes considerably longer than it used to before. Copying something from a web page into Word could take up to 30 seconds now on my computer but it shows a busy mouse pointer while it is loading, then clicks/pops when it loads into the Word document, but then actually takes about another 5 to 10 seconds to appear in the Word document. I have no idea why it is delaying now when it did not do it before, but since it is still going into the document I am living with it for now. Are you waiting long enough to see if it appears?

  • Link Contract Manager and Project Management

    Hi all.
    I follow userguide and some
solution in Knowledgebase to link Contract Manager 12.1
and Project Management 6.2, but it doesn't succeed.<br
/>In Contract manager, when I right click on project
-> Project Setting -> Schedule. The
"schedule" option is gray out. I can not select
    "Primavera".
    Is there anyone try to
link these modules ? Please help me.

First check if Contract Manager Service has access to
the server that contains P6 database.<br

If there is a connection, try to make
sure you are using good credentials (make sure that

  • Publish Handouts in Word 2007 not working

Our office recently upgraded to Word 2007 and now I am unable
to publish Word handouts in Captivate. I have tried both Captivate
2 and 3, and neither work. I get the following message:
An error was encountered while publishing to Word. Please check
and make sure Word is not busy and try again.
Anyone ever seen this before? Word is not currently running,
    no documents open, etc.
    Thanks,

    Hi Erin,
I just ran into this same issue.  I found a fix on the following Microsoft site:
    http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.off iceupdate&tid=d2bb191a-1c07-4c15-99bd-e1276ff88798&cat=&lang=&cr=&sloc=&p=1
Basically it said to remove the converter from the registry, and Word 2007 would use it's own converters.
    Hope you find this helpful!

  • Thinkpad Ultranav - unable to edit Word 2007 docs after they are saved

    Hi,
    O/S Windows 7
    Laptop: X300
    Office 2007
Alps Ultranav; Driver 5.0.1.28 (Alps Electric Co.)
I had a clean installation done after a Windows update corrupted some system files. So I am now running Windows 7 and have downloaded my Thinkpad drivers from the Lenovo download site. However, I have encountered a problem when using Word (Office 2007) - I do not have full functionality when using my touch pad.
I can edit docs in Word using my touch pad but when I save them (to Word 2003 compatabile documents) I cannot highlight, copy or paste any text within the document using either my touch pad or the track pointer. I can use the touch pad to move the cursor around and to scroll down using the bar on the right hand side but I cannot edit. I can edit using the arrow keys in the very same document.
I have checked Word to see if there are any restrictions under Permissions but there are not and I don't think I'm saving the docs as read-only or anything like that.
Does this sound like a conflict between the touchpad driver and Word 2007 or is there is something in Word that I need to change?
NB I've checked that I've got the latest Ultranav driver- see reference above
Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this,
    Marc

Solved! I did some more digging and found this:
RESOLVED ISSUE - I found the solution at Windows > Windows Forums > Windows7 Forums > Programs > Why can't I move the Word 2007 insertion point cursor or highlight
text or pictures with the mouse after I type text when using Word 2007 on Windows 7 64-bit? Mouse not working in Word.
The Lenovo ThinkPad Password Vault program has a bug which causes this MS Word 2007 and Outlook 2007 issue. It is easily resolved by changing the Password Vault Preference for Enable hot keys to NOT SELECTED. "
    http://www.windowsbbs.com/windows-7/90896-word-2007-outlook-2007-w-windows-7-cursor-will-not-select-...
So, I unchecked the Enabled Hot Keys box in Password Vault and, after re-booting, the problem has gone. Phew. Thanks for the suggestion again.

  • No header in output when template saved with Word 2007

    Hi,
I came across a problem when saving template in Word 2007.
We have template created in Word 2003 that has a header with table with image and some text in it.
    And it was working fine.
Now we had to make some modifications in this template (in the body, not in the header) and in the meantime we switched from Word 2003 to Word 2007.
When we save and uploaded the template on the server it was working fine but there was no header in the output.
I took it back to Word 2003 and made some changes to it, saved and uploaded and header was here.
Looking at the xsl-fo of the templates (from Word 2003 and Word 2007) I noticed that xsl-fo from Word 2003 in the table definition has keep-together.within-page="always" attribute which is missing in Word 2007 xsl-fo.
Word 2003 xsl-fo header table definition:
    <fo:table start-indent="0.0pt" xdofo:table-summary="Template Table 1" xdofo:row-header-count="0" keep-together.within-page="always">
Word 2007 xsl-fo header table definition:
    <fo:table start-indent="12.5pt" xdofo:table-summary="Template Table 1" xdofo:row-header-count="0">
    Anyone had same problem?
    Thanks,
    Tomislav

    Hi Vetsrini,
Do you have a link to a workaround for this? I having a problem with a table splitting across pages.
I'm working with tempalte creation oin word 2007 and can't keep the rows/lines together in a table.
