Contracts and backend replication

Hi. I am looking for a solution and wonder if any other has come across this challenge. We run SRM 5.0 extended classic. We use purchasing contracts in SRM which works great. Now, we want to replicate the contracts to R/3 as APO and CQM is dependent on the contract information retrieved from R/3. We set up global outline agreements, mapped the pricing conditions in the BADI and replicated those back to R/3, also works nicely. The global Outline agreements however are not seen for source determination for the requisitions in sourcing, and it is hard to modify this as the guid is not passed for the GOA's. Now, I wonder what is the best scenario for this in extended classic.
Summarized, we need sourcable contracts in SRM which are replicated back to R/3 without doing too many modifications from standard.
I would very much appreciate your input!
Best regards
Haakon Onshuus

Hello Haakon,
the best way would be to update to SRM 7.0 ...
In SRM 5.0 local contracts are not transferable to ERP backends, and global outline agreements are no sources in SRM - with SRM 7.0, SAP promises that both is working as there is only one contract type.
Best regards,

  • SC - Contract and vendor information disappear afeter change plant

    Dear friends,
I'm using SRM 5.5 and i have the follow problem:
I create a SC using a item registered in MDM 2.0 the item has contract information and vendor information, but there is not information about plant.
The SC get the contract and vendor information but i need sometimes change the plant and when a change the plant the information about catalog and vendor disappear.
I tried use the BADI BBP_SOS_BADI to recover contract and vendor information, but in this moment i don't have how to get contract information because the catalog information disappear.
I'm using the classic scenario so i don't create contract in SRM just in backend System.
    Thanks.

  • Differences in local Purchasing Contracts and GOA?

    Hi all,
I am new to SRM and trying to figure out what are the differences between local purchase contracts and GOA? I know that GOA can be distributed to multiple backend systems whereas the local purchase contracts cannot be. Are there any other differences apart from this? and how does these two make difference to the business?
    Thanks in advance...
    Regards,
    Kumar
Edited by: Kumar on Apr 7, 2008 9:47 AM

    Hi Kumar,
As mentioned by you GOAs can be distributed to backend systems.
However the major difference between a GOA and a local SRM contract is that with GOA you can create either a contract or a scheduling agreement in the backend R/3 system.
Whenever you refer these contracts / scheduling agreements while creating a P.O in backend the status gets updated in GOA created in SRM.
You can not refer these contracts / S.A s while craeting a P.O in SRM.
Similarly the local SRM contracts can not be refered while creating P.Os in R/3 system.
Hope this makes you more clear and helps in better understanding of the issue. Clarifications are welcome.

  • Local contract and classic scenario

    Hi all
A question regarding contracts - and interpretation...
On help.sap.com the following is stated:
<i>SAP Enterprise Buyer, as the central purchasing system, saves the contract data and uses it for local purchase orders and purchase orders of the extended classic scenario.</i>
I interpret this as, if one is using the classic scenario it's not possible to operate with local contracts in the SRM system. Can anyone confirm this?
And if so - any workarounds?
Our dilemma is that we have an extended classic scenario. Some materials are stock materials, and for these materials we are using a BAdi to switch off the extended classic scenario. No contract data is now added to the shopping cart, which I think is due to the classic scenario.
Thanks for your help in advance

If you want the contracts to be in SRM and do not want them to send to Backend, then check this out.
Create a Vendor list for those items in SRM by assigning the local contracts to the vendors.Activate Vendor list for sourcing.
Then local contract data should pick as SOS from the vendor list.
If you can create contracts in Backend for stock material then SC would pick the backend contract as SOS in classic scenario.
Let me know if the above works or not.

  • Configurations needed for distributing central contract to backend system

    Dear Gurus,
I have configured central contract and getting approved in the local SRM system. Now, I need to distribute the central contract to the backend system. I have already get the PI interfaces configured using the integration scenario Central contract management.
Now, I assign the backend POrg as well as the target values for the backend contract and try to release the central contract. The central contract is getting released. However, no contract is getting created in the backend system.
I donot see any XML messages generated in the SRM system (SXMB_MONI).
Do I need to maintain some settings in the SRM system to enable the distribution of contract to the backend system?
    Thansk and regards,
    Ranjan

    Hi,
When one creates Local Contract; there is one option named 'Distribute' on contract screen. On drop down; one mention back end system. After clicking on it; contract has been created in ECC.
If contract is not getting generated in back end; refer SAP Note: 609222.
Check whether you find any error/information message in Txn BBP_CTR_MON.
    SRM Settings:
    1. Implement BBP_DETERMINE_LOGSYS: Determines whether contract is to be created in SRM or ECC.
    2. Assign transaction type to attribute CT_PROC_TY in Org Structure.
    3. Check whether have maintained message type BLAREL, COND_A, BLAORD.
    4. Assign role SAP_BBP_STAL_START_PURCHASER to process contracts.

  • Direct Posting to Contracts and Business roles in SRM

    Hi guys,
We have SRM 7 and ECC 6.0.
Please consider the following business scenario:
    Invoice creation in SRM against ERP contract that has been previously replicated to SRM;
    No PO or GR involved in this process;
Possibility to have one contract to vendor A, and the corresponding invoices for different vendors.
Considering this we thought about the following solution:
    Activate Direct Posting to Contracts functionality in ERP;
    Contract, supplier and materials / services replication to SRM, through PI;
Allow different partners in the contract, using partner role “Invoicing party” (RS), so that it would be possible to post an invoice to vendor B, with reference to a contract with vendor A.
    Questions:
Reporting – as far as I know it’s only possible to run analyses for vendors, which in our case would be vendor A, assigned to the contract.  However, we will need to have information about the invoices posted to the other business partners that are assigned to that contract. Do you have any idea if there is any standard approach for this?
Contract and business roles replication to SRM – does the contract and the assigned business roles could be replicated to SRM or is it required any specific customizing in SRM for this to be possible?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
For direct posting to G/L in  MIRO, follow the path:
SPRO > Materials Management > Logistics Invoice Verification > Incoming Invoice > Activate Direct Posting to G/L Accounts and Material Accounts > Here Activate "Dir.posting to G/L acct = active" and save.
MIRO - It will show additional Tab as "GL Account" along with "Reference"

  • Sending Contract to backend

    Hi All,
We are trying to figure out PROS N CONS of two different options that can be used to send a contract to backend (as a follow on doc from bidding engine app only). These are
    1. Directly create a backend contract by using badis.
    2. Create GOA in SRM and then send it to the backend.
Currently there is a single backend and classic scenario. We want to consider the options of contract alert mgmt and adding additional backend in future.
Ques1: Please suggest what can be the better option to implement and what are advantages and disadvantages of both.
Ques 2: In option 1 the system creates a backend contract WITH NO COPY OF CONTRACT IN SRM. Is this statement true? If yes how can this be resolved as we want to have contract copy in SRM as well?
    Thanks in Advance
    Hussain

    Hi,
    it is a feasible solution:
Now when an accepted bid is converted into contract it should create a GOA and create contract in backend (here we have a single backend). So the contract is available in SRM also as GOA.
Just disable the Badi and make the GOA doc type as the follow on document for bid. The system will create an incomplete GOA, which you can complete and distribute.
The operational contract created from distribution then can be used as source of supply in R/3 and all POs placed against it are recorded in SRM.
My query is that we want to have alert mgmt to notify the purchasers about the expiring contracts and then use "Negotiate" contract function for creating a bid invitation out of expiring contract. Is this functionality possible considering the classic mode and GOA.
Yes, SRM alerts on each contract type, also on GOAs. From GOA a Bid invitation (Negotiate) can be created and the GOA can be renewed and is redistributed.
Is there any special customisation or BADI required?
Make the follow on settings in SRM to enable the right doc types as follow on document. Also make sure, that the distribution of contracts is working fine by using the BADI BBP_CTR in R/3 for conditions as well for company code (when needed). Then you are fine.
    Cheers,
    Claudia

  • GOA as contract and schedul agrem

    Hi esperts
I am in SRM 5.0 and R/3 4.7, I need to distribute GOA as contract and schedul agreement, so I have created in SRM 2 types of GOA ZMK and ZLP and created in backend the same document types ZLP for schedul agreement and ZMK to contract, IIf I create a GOA ZMK or ZLP in SRM and try to distribute I have an error ERROR DEFINING DOCUMENT TYPE IN BACKEND, but no IDOC is created.
I have done a text with document type GCTR in SRM and backend and if I create a GOA type GCTR and choose in DISTRIBUTION tab SCHED AGREEM, IDOCS are created in R/3 but if I choose CONTRACT I have the same error  ERROR DEFINING DOCUMENT TYPE IN BACKEND.
    Any help will be welcome.
    Thanks

    Hi Sushil Kumar
    It's not my case.
I have created  3 document typesin SRM and R/3.
    ZLP in SRM and R/3
    ZWK in SRM and R/3
    ZMK in SRM and R/3
When I create a GOA in SRM with type ZLP  and set Sched Agreem in distribution tab the IDOS are created in R/3.
When I create a a GOA IN SRM with type ZWK and set Contract in distribution tab I have the error ERROR DETERMINING DOCUMENT TYPE
Why the erro occur only with Contract and no with schedul agreement?
    Thanks

  • Create blocked contract in backend R3 from a quot in SRM

    HI experts,
I work in SRM 5.0 and I need to create a contract in backend R3 from a quot in SRM
I need that positions of my future contract in R3 are blocked
Do you know if filling the parameter IT_PDEXT_ITEMS-DEL_IND = S or with other mark in the badi BBP_CTR_BE_CREATE, the contract positions are blocked?
Best Regards and thank you in advance.

    Hi,
If u set the IT_PDEXT_ITEMS-DEL_IND = X then contract will be created and it will be deleted.
Yes u can do this in BADI BBP_CTR_BE_CREATE.
    Thanks

  • Creating contracts on backend - iDocs not even sent from SRM

    Hi all
I'm having a bit of trouble configuring backend contracts and could use a little help from the experts.
Trying to create a contract from SoCo or bid invitation results in a success message informing a contract number, but idocs BLAORD and COND_A don't appear on WE02 on the backend. Checking on WE05 on SRM, no idocs are listed, so I'm assuming they are not even being created.
BAdIs BBP_DETERMINE_LOGSYS and BBP_CTR_BE_CREATE are implemented and active, logical systems and RFC destinations are defined correctly and organizational data is ok. Also backend POs are working fine. Please advice.
    Best regards
    Alvaro

    Hello Alvaro,
for backend contract creation, there is no IDOC generated in SRM, but directy in R/3, but the function BBPV_CONTRACT_CREATE.
If an error occurs during this function call, you should get an error message in Application Monitoring.
You can access those monitors via the web, with role SAP_BBP_STAL_ADMINISTRATOR, or directly in SAP GUI with transaction RZ10.
    Last option: debug the process

  • Absolute condition value in contract and release order

    Hi,
We are creating quantity contract. When a absolute condition (value) is entered this value is considered for release qty in the contract for calculating the unit price. But when a release order is created for this contract, the same absolute value is for the PO quantity due to which there is a difference in unit price between contract and PO.
    Please advice.

  • Value contract and pricing procedure.

    HI All,
I am working on value contracts. I have configured value contract and other related things. But I have some querries:-
    1) Can I use standard order as release order for value contract?
    2) Do I need to create a different pricing procedure for value contract?  If Yes  wont it conflict with the pricing procedure determined in the relaese orders?
    Kindly guide.
    Regards,
    Danny.

1)Can I use standard order as release order for value contract?
Ans: If you use the standard order as the release order document type, how would your restrict a particular customer for the orders (release)
For example: you have something as FOC value Contract.
Now when you can create a standard order same as the release order , how will you restrict the users from creation of orders for a particular customer.
    2) Do I need to create a different pricing procedure for value contract? If Yes wont it conflict with the pricing procedure determined in the relaese orders?
Ans: To explain the q1 better , take the example of FOC value Contract( Free of costs)
Say : you business offers free products to customers.
Now the release order will can have a different pricing procedure than the Standard.
The difference would only be a R100 condition type which will make the price as Zero but the taxes will be applicable.
This explains why you should have a different order type for release orders.

  • Contract and PO

    Dear Seniors,
I had set release procedure already for contract and purchase order. Whenever i do po w.r.to contract, i have to release both contract and PO to do GRN. For example, consider vendor X and Y, i have contract for these 2 vendors and i have released that contract too. When i raise PO w.r.to that contract with vendor X and Y, it should not ask for release. How could i set that and where can i do that particularly for that two vendor X and Y? For remaining vendors, it should ask for release at PO level also. kindly suggest me please.
    regards,
    jana

    Hi Jana ,
You can create  charcteristic for Vendor in release stragtegy for PO , but here u have to use Vendors for which Release Str is required. So this would be too hectic .
    Alternate Solution :
Create a new document type for PO created through Contract for those 2 Vendors.
Exclude this document type in release procedure of PO.
Note : This would be advisable if u create more PO's against the contract otherwise it would be better to go with ur earlier release procedure.

  • Contract and PO using limits functionality

    Hi Experts,
I have a requirement by the business to use the unplanned services for PO. All the PO are refer to contract. All the contract are value contract only.  They dont want any quanity or unit price define in the contract. Just the total contract amount only.
Is it possible to create contract without using the service master defining only the limits? If this is possible please tell me the necessary configuration. In my present system service master is mandatory now.
secondly, Is it OK if i create a value contract with the account assignment Unkown and itemcategory blank. So that I need not meantion the service limits or the service master. I will create service PO using the contract and define the limits in PO.
Is it a std process if I process like the way I mentioned.

  • Partner in service contract and ibase

Here is a data migration scenario, migration service contract from legance to crm:
    1. warranty data and sold to partner will be migrated to ibase in crm
    2. legancy contract will be migrated to crm contract, which also contains a sold to party
So my question is whether there is a dependency about sold-to party between service contract and ibase,
    - for example., here is ibase contain product: A,B,C, but when create a contract for product D, which does not exist in a ibase, so whether this contract can be create, whether it can look up the if product exist in ibase according to sold to party,
And whether it can prevent to create new contract for D?
    Many thanks.

    Hi Nagaraju,
First of all, you can bill Service Contract and Service Order differently. This is because you may wish to charge contract fees irrespective of whether service occurs or not.
Secondly, while maintaining DIP profile, you can use different material from the one used in contract. Just make sure that it gives explanation as to what service was performed so that customer will understand the invoice.
DP90 will generate Debit memo request. You will need to create billing document against this using VF01.
When you settle the service order (KO88), it will be settled against service contract.
Please let me know if you need any further information.
    Regards,
    Aaditya.
