Contribute 3.11 (Studio 8) Crashes

Question

Got Contribute 3.11 as part of Studio 8 for XP Pro SP2
system.
Have not used it for a while but when I try execute it, it
crashes
before showing the opening page.
Is it me - or do others have this problem? Very curious.

Found an error in Application under Event Viewer at the
proper
time-date.
The only apparent information is Event 1000, whatever that
is.
Tried Google could not find anything helpful.
Tried Microsoft.com and found something about reading a
template.(?)
Security - System - Internet Explorer - no entry for the
proper time.
Stumped & confused.
