Contribute 3 and page titles
Our original website was created in Dreamweaver by someone
else. Two of the pages I have changed the name of the page in
Contribute, however when I go on the internet to our site and I
click on that page, in the address at the top it still shows the
old name of the page under the https:// information. How would I
change these two pages to reflect the correct name in https:// at
the top??

Yes you can do it using an FTP client or you can edit the
same page and can Publish a new copy of it using
"File->Actions->Publish as New Page..." option. So one more
copy of it will be created. After this you can also delete the old
page. Browse to the old page and select
"File->Actions->Delete Page".

TEMPLATE AND PAGE TITLE MX2004
I have started to use a template for a web site for the first
time - all is going well except that I am unable to change the page
title for individual pages which have the template applied.
I believe I have made the title an editable region in the
template but when I add a title in a page the text reverts to
"Untitled Document." When I attempt to modify the page title in
page properties I get the error message "All of this page's
properties are locled by a template, so you can't edit them."
My question must be, how do I make the page title
editable?You probably created your template like this -
FILE | Save As..., then you saved it in the Templates folder
with a *.dwt
extension.
The correct way is like this -
FILE | Save As Template..., and let DW do the heavy lifting
for you.
You can fix your situation by making the head region of your
template look
like the head region of the new template (use copy/paste).

Feature request: auto-complete by typing Page Title (not only URL)
I'm switching from Firefox to Safari.
I really miss new Firefox auto URL complete feature.
Please add it in the future updates.
I can start typing a word in address line, and a drop-list of URLs appears with URLs AND Page titles.
Example of a desired behavior.
Lets say I've visited a week ago an article-page titled "World History" located here http://www.hyperhistory.com/onlinen2/Historyn2/a.html
Now week later I dont remember the URL, i want to start typing "world history" and a drop list appears of URLs with Page Titles that contain this in a page title (but not necessarily in URL).
Also if I would type "history" , i want URL "www.hyperhistory.com" to appear in results because it is part of an URL (doesnt matter if its the second word, it should be there.

Please let me know if that is possible with current Safari 3.2.1.As far as I am aware it's not possible for Safari to do that.

I have a very strange problem with a Contribute Template that
I created in Dreamweaver. I cannot modify the page title. I am able
to modify the page title in other web sites that I created, but for
some reason templates in a particular folder in this new site will
not allow me to modify.

normally, if you open a plain page in dreamweaver, and use
File->Save As
Template, dw will save it as filename.dwt in a Templates
folder in the root
of the local site folder.
This template file will have two editable regions
automatically inserted
into it, a "doctitle" surrounding the title tags, and an
empty "head"
editable area just before the closing </head> tag.

You need to put your title in the page header if you want it to appear on every page. The report header only displays once per report. -
I'm having trouble formatting a book I'm writing using Pages. I need to put my name and book title in the upper left hand corner of EACH page- opposite the page number. How do I do this?
And if this is the new IOS Pages v2 (or the older IOS Pages 1.7.2), you click the wrench icon and then Document Setup. Tap the document header to edit it, and apply the same instructions that I gave previously for OS X Pages v5.
The process for Pages ’09 v4.3 is slightly different. You click the Header, and enter your document title and your name as previously described. You will need Menu > View > Show Ruler. Click once in the ruler at the first or second mark after the 7 inch (roughly 18cm). This will set a tab. Now position the insertion mark behind your title and tab once to the mark you set. Now you can Menu > Insert > Auto Page Numbers ... -
Changing ALT and Title Tags for Book and Page Icons
Hi folks,
Are you aware of any setting in Robo Help that would allow
you to modify or even remove the ALT and titles introduced for the
Book and and Page icons displayed on the navigation pane. I tried
deleting it from the RoboHHRE.lng file, but still its not going
away. Other than deleting it from the rendered files (whlstt0.htm)
is there any other setting within RoboHelp that would do the trick.
My idea is to remove all ALT and title attributes given to Book and
Pages as its causing too much redundancy.

Robohelp checkbox for removing this, you can step into the

Page title and page name check box
Hi there,
if I need to change the page title starting from the page name, by default equals, it would be more efficient and helpful, from UI/UX point of view, to keep the page name in the text area of page title, when un-checking the check box below, rather than deleting it.
The idea is that you will most probably change few parts of the text already herited form the page name.

Your suggestion makes sense, we will look into changing the behavior. The "Filename" edit box just below has the same issue.

Integrating Page Title iview and Discussion Iview
Hi,
We have assigned the customized Default Framework Page to the 'Everyone' group wherein we have removed
the Page title bar Iview. So the users dont have the option of the 'History' and 'Back' buttons available on that iview.
We dont want to make this iview available to all pages as it is consuming some space.Our problem lies here:
In the Room Directory page, We get the list of available rooms. When any of the available rooms are clicked, it takes us to
the Discussion iview. Here, since there is no Page title bar available, the users are not able to navigate backwards.It is only
here that we want to make the Page title bar iview available.But since on clicking on any of the rooms, it takes us
directly to the Discussion iview and not a Page, we are not able to integrate the Page title bar iview.
Please help us in this regard.

Even I was trying for the solution which you have suggested but the problem is how to call the new page which contains the discussion iview because, by default, all the rooms show the link which points to the original Discussion iView. How can we change the link to point to the new page.
Also is there any other provision of adding a 'Back' button.

IPhoto 5.0.4-Bookcover, page design and file titles
I am putting together my first iPhoto book and am about ready to send it in. I have made all my pages in Photoshop CS2 and Photoshop Elements. They are all 10 x 8 inches and I want to publish a book with 50 pages-all with one photo per page.
Cover-We do not want to use the Caption area as our cover picture has our caption built into our 10 x 8 format. Do I need to resize my picture before I download to iPhoto or will my 10 x 8 be resized at iPhoto to fit when it is placed in its spot? I do not want any other captioning in a separate box.
Title Page-The Folio theme shows two text boxes available for the title Page. If what I want is set in the 10 x 8 size with all text we want in the "photo", do we need to do anything special for that or will our page work?
Page Design-After looking at all the themes we thought Folio would work for us. We do not want a problem with the inside edges bleeding too far into the binding and cutting off part of our text or photos. Have we left enough to compensate for that by using the margins that we have? Is Folio the Theme that will give us the iffect we want?
I was cautioned by a friend that I should be wary of using page titles that have dashes and slashes etc. in them as those symbols may cause issues with file recoginition. Advised to start using the underscore and not use spaces, etc...
Is this something I should fix before I send to iPhoto?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. In regards to the Cover, even though you don't put any text into the Cover text box that area will just be blank on the cover. Your photo will not expand to cover the entire photo area.
The same holds true for the photo layout. The text boxes will be blank but the photos will not expand greater than the frame that's provided for the photo. Regarding size, it's recommended that the photos be in the 4:3 ratio for best fit into the frames provided on the pages. You can try the 8x10 and see if any gets cut off by the difference in size ratio.
Regarding text, if you're putting your text into the jpg files for inclusion they the use of special characters should not be an issue. It's only when you use them in the title boxes.
Before you order I suggest you go thru the order process but stop after the book has been assembled. Then follow these steps to find and copy the pdf file that iPhoto creates for uploading and printing. You can check the pdf file for placement, bleed, etc. On the large books that I ordered that pdf file had the layout marks included.
How to Find the iPhoto Generated PDF File:
1 - Start the ordering process and stop after the book has been assembled and you get to the Order pane where you select the cover color, copies, etc.
2 - Go to the Finder and select the Go->Go to Folder menu item (CommandShiftG).
3 - copy the following, “/private/var/tmp/folders.501/TemporaryItems/iPhoto” (for Panther the path is ‘/private/tmp/501/TemporaryItems/iPhoto“), and paste into the Go to Folder search box.
4 - the iPhoto folder will be brought up. In it will be the PDF file that was generated by iPhoto. You can copy it (Option-drag) to the Desktop to review and/or save.
Note: the iPhoto folder will not exist before you start the ordering process and is deleted after the order is completed or after you cancel the order and quit iPhoto.

I have created an iview and page that points to one of our R3 backend systems. The name of the iview and page is DV2. When a user clicks on the link in the detailed nav bar it launches a new window. What I would like to do is set the Page Title of the new window to DV2. I also have a UPG and PRD page that needs the title set. Is that possible and if so how might I go about doing that?
Our environment is SAP Netweaver SP12.

Bugreport: copy Page escapes & to & in Page Title and Name
APEX 4.2.1
When copying a Page within an application its Page Title and Page Name gets escaped. That means if you are using something like '&' within the Page Title/Name it gets escaped to '&'

If, during an application page view, you would like to reference the page ID, use the bind variable :APP_PAGE_ID, the function call v('APP_PAGE_ID'), or the substitution string &APP_PAGE_ID., the use of each being particularly suited for different contexts as explained in the documentation.
The page title can be obtained by querying the publicly accessible view apex_application_pages, qualifying such query with the application ID and page ID.
Also, if you avoid non-standard punctuation, I believe your meaning will be more effectively conveyed.

Adding Page Titles and Descriptions

How do I create an editable field in a template so that I can add <Title> and meta descriptions to individual pages? Many Thanks for the help, I'm not the most skilled coder!
johnYes and no, be very careful.
- Using that will add head and body html to your page content even if you use a template. Check out the html. Not good.
- If you add a description, remove it and add it again or edit it you get empty description tags inserted into the head above the current description meta.
- If you/client has used the Old interface meta stuff then use that it will add to your meta not change it.
- Page Title for pages, products etc is not synced with that inline on a page/product name/web app name and so changing that will either double up again or not update the title depending on what your in be it a page or product.
^ That is just a few of the more obvious issues with that.
So keep that in mind -
Formerly I could download YouTube videos by double clicking the largest size page element in the Safari activity window address column . Now in V 5.0.5 page elements are not shown, just the page title, and under that "about:blank". Also, the activity window used to show sequential activity and now each new page replaces the last. Thanks for any suggestions re how to restore previous activity window function.
