Contribute 3 & Flashpaper

Hello. I have contribute 3 installed on XP pro. Each time i
try to open a word doc (office 2003) contribute 3 pops a message up
saying it's trying to install. I have read this is something to do
with a problem with flashpaper 2. Please could someone assist.

Flashpaper stops working (Contribute 3)

We have several Contribute 3 users who use Flashpaper to
create PDFs. They all work great except for one user. Every few
weeks, her Flashpaper just stops working. She tries to create a PDF
and her PC locks up. Sometimes rebooting the PC will get Flashpaper
to work again, but if that doesn't work, I have to re-install
Contribute/Flashpaper. Then Flashpaper works fine for a few weeks
and then the same thing happens. Do you have any ideas about what
could be causing this or have suggestions about what to check?

Oh, I kinda solved it.
Her iPad does not work when in Portrait mode Facetime. When she turns to Landscape - it all works.
Hmmmm....
Accelerometer works fine, all games work, rotation works. It's just Facetime that stops working when in Portrait. Super wierd.

Developing on several machines

I have studio 8 on two machines. I want to develope
a website using both of these machines so need to transfer the site
between them. I assume I can just transfer all the site directories
and files with a USB drive and overwrite the old version. Are there
any problems associated with this way of working? PS I will be
using contribute + Flashpaper Dreamweaver and probably Flash.

Problem with contribute 3.11/flashpaper 2 printer driver

I have problem with the contribute 3.11 and flashpaper 2
printer driver. When I try to install it to my lab under domain
enviroment, that mean multi user will use the same computer with
differ user right. The problem is, when user with admin right log
into the domain and left click on any file the first time,
contribute install a new flahspaper driver, eg. macromedia
flashpaper, macromedia flashpaper (copy 1), macromedia flashpaper
(copy 2) etc...another problem is, when the user with domain user
right login the computer, when they left click on any file the
first time, contribute try to install the flashpaper printer driver
for them, but since they are not allow to install any printer
driver, the message," you do not have primission to install the
printer driver etc" pop up and it only pop up once.
Are there anyone have the same problem? Anyone know how to
fix it? Thank you for the help in advance.

Hi,
Please check with in your environmental variable whether JDK is 32 bit or shifted to 64 bit.
It seems even though you have 64 bit still it is taking 32 bit only.

Contribute CS3 & FlashPaper

I have just upgraded a user from an older version of
Contribute to Contribute CS3 and FlashPaper is no longer installed.
Does Contribute CS3 no longer come with FlashPaper? If not,
is there functionality in Contribute CS3 that can do the same thing
that FlashPaper used to do.

Printing to Flashpaper (with Contribute 3)

I am trying to use the Flashpaper print driver from
Contribute 3 to print swf files. I work on a PowerPC G5 running Mac
OS X 10.4.8. The print driver looks like it is installed, i.e. I
can send a document to print and it goes throug all of the motions
as if it is going to print, but then then the printer stops. When i
try to restart it, it instantly stops again.
I have tried printing word documents, pdfs and InDesign files
and none of them will print.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to fix it (a
new driver to download or something)?

FlashPaper Menu in Word Missing

I have recently installed Studio 8 which comes with
Contribute 3 which come with FlashPaper2 (why they bundled
Contribute and FlashPaper together, I can't figure). I like
FlashPaper and have been experimenting with it in my work area. For
some reason, I get to work today and Word does not have the
FlashPaper conversion menu or the Tool bar showing. I check my
toolbar settings to turn them back on and the option isn't there. I
check MS Excel and PowerPoint and the Menu and toolbars are
showing, no problem. I tried unistalling Contribute and
reinstalling (cuz FPis bundled with Contribute). Still no luck.
Has anyone encountered this and if so, what is the solution?
Most of my FlashPaper conversions would be in Word.

Adjust your Macro Security settings (via "Tools") in MS
Office applications: bring it to "medium" level, and restart MS
Word/Excel/Powerpoint.
When prompted: accept Macros from Adobe and particularly the
"blank" one. And you see "flashpaper" menu and toolbar appearing
within seconds.
Still doesn't work? Restart your computer, with the macro
settings in MS office application at medium security level.
Hope it helps. Please share your experience.

PDF to FlashPaper 2

hi all,
I'm trying to build an application over Coldfusion that
implements a conversion from a pdf into a Flashpaper document. The
only way I had found to do that is using FlashpaperConnect.dll that
comes with Contribute 3. My problem is that I need to run
ColdFusion over Linux and Contribut does not have a Linux version.
Question:
Is there any library for linux with the same function of
FlashpaperConnect.dll?
Anybody know another way to implement this kind of conversion
that could work in linux?

After more research, it looks like in my FlashPaper (made
from PDF files) the characters are shifted by a consistent amount.
Using the Unicode character set (you can see a reference in
Windows XP by going to the Start Menu, then
Programs->Accessories->System Tools->Character Map), in
which each character is represented by a number, each character is
shifted by this function:
f(x) = 288 - x
I made a custom search box which translates each character
the user's looking for behind the scenes and uses the FlashPaper
API to search for the new, shifted text:

An amusing detail is that in trying to support
case-insensitive searches, where if they type "cat" and it also

How do I get the ability to convert my word .doc file to

I had cs3 installed but I just installed MS word 2007 and the
ability to export to flashpaper is not available that I can see.
Do I have to reinstall contribute in order for it to install
the flashpaper exporter to word?

If I understand you correctly, you need to Scale and Position each clip. These are part of the inherent Motion effect attached to every clip, found in the Effects Control Panel.

Macromedia Contribute 3 Error

Hey,
We have a user getting the following error when opening any
Office 2003 app.
Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product
Macromedia Contribute 3. The Windows Installer cannot continue.
She says it just started a couple of days ago.
Any help with this would be appreciated.

I had this same error and updated to Contribute Version 3.11
through the Adobe website last week. Following the prompts, I did
not uninstall Version 3.0 before I ran the update.
The update fixed the issue with the right click / Office
flashpaper thing, but when I open Contribute, I am prompted for a
serial number for the new update or to use the software on a trial
basis. I have my serial number from my initial download of Version
3.0, but do not have a serial number for the update.
I called the Adobe Activation hotline, was transferred to
Customer Service (which had no idea how to fix the request for a
new serial number for Version 3.11, since that was just an update
and shouldn't come with a new serial number), and then eventually
to Tech Support, where I was told that Version 3.x was no longer
supported by Adobe, and that I should post my inquiry here.
So, should I uninstall everything and run the update again?
Any other suggestions?

Mac Flashpaper Printer Driver Missing

I have Macromedia Suite 8 with Contribute 3.11 but cannot
find the printer driver utility anywhere. It was supposed to be
installed with the programs on OSX 10.4.x
Anyone know where or how to find/install/link the printer
driver for Flashpaper.

You are wrong about this. Flashpaper is on the Mac and
requires Contribute 3. I had to reinstall Contribute to get my
Flashpaper Printer Driver to show up in the Printer list and get it
to work. It is more seamless on the Mac since you can print from
any program to Flashpaper. However, Flashpaper doesn't preserve
hyperlinks in all programs.

I had been using Macromedia Studio 8 and was able to convert
documents to FlashPaper. Now that I am using Creative Suite 3 Web
Premium, I seem to longer have FlashPaper. As FlashPaper supposedly
installs with Contribute, I must ask if it still does or am I out
of luck?

Can't Uninstall Flashpaper 2

Hello,

I think this is a Flashpaper related problem, and desperately
want to strip Flashpaper from the machine, but UninstallFP.bat does
not appear in C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Flashpaper 2\

Printer FlashPaper was Deleted

I am getting an error in the Event Viewer -> System of
WIndow 2003 server, saying
"Printer Macromedia FlashPaper in session 1 is pending
deletion.". Then another error saying "Printer Macromedia
FlashPaperr in session 1 was deleted". They are event IDs 4 and 3
respectively.
How do I go about correcting this error? I thought installing
Contribute and FlashPaper on the server would correct the error but
no luck. I can not find documentation anywhere on how to fix server
errors. Looked all over Adobe and Googled it.

Flashpaper after Leopard Upgrade?

Hi folks,
I've upgraded to Leopard, but don't see FlashPaper as a printer driver any
more, although Contribute CS3 is active.
Anyone know how to update, move which files from the archive install to
reactivate it?

had the same problem. set a much lower resolution and turn the overscan on, then move up the scale till you reach one which fills the screen
eg 720p on my screen isn't 1280x720, but 1360x768 NTSC overscan on!?
Not quite sure why this is the case, don't know a great deal about tv's, but give it a go.
P.S. I couldn't get a very clear image the first time i set it up, after a reboot i had more options to play with and selected the above one which is perfect.
