Contribute CS3 and Word Perfect Document

We routinely train our clients in how to insert content from
a Word document into their web pages using Contribute. We have a
new client who tells us she only has Word Perfect. I am unable to
find any documentation on inserting Word Perfect content into a
page.... can anyone help me with this?

they are wpd files from around 2001-2003 that my Dad emailed me and on a PC was easy to simply relabel as .doc but despite this I cannot open in pages or convert to pages.

In fairness to Pages, only apps that can handle Word Perfect docs of that vintage can open them, either. W
As Viking said, changing the extension does nothing to the file structure & metadata of the document. At one time Mac people didn't bother with the extensions, because they were simply a visible indicator of the app that made them, and the Mac would get that information from the file itself.
Since you changed the extensions, some Windows apps may still use those extensions to tell them the file source. When they try to open a .wpd file as if it were a .doc file, they will get very confused.
You can try to open the files by using the Menu> Open command, with the setting of "all files." IF and only if the app can handle .wpd files, then maybe it will open it & ignore the extension.

Before writting that, I checked the openOffice Save dialog.
And one more time, michaelfromrochester write about what he isn't aware.
The fact that abiwork open Wordperfect documents doesn't prove that openoffice doesn't.
The link posted by Tom claims that it does.
I repeat my request:
I wish to receive a sample file to check if the embedded importer really works.
About zamzar, I would never use an online service to translate/transcode an important document.

I need to transfer my word perfect documents from my old Windows XP to my new mac. I have already burned a cd with documents saved as .wpd It is not working. How do you make the switch?

While I wait for the update to Adobe Dreamweaver Developer
Toolbox (ADDT), if my client purchases Contribute CS4, can I send

Contribute CS3 and CITRIX

Is it supported to install Contribute CS3 on a CITRIX server?
If it is supported what are the licensing implications?
Basically we want to place Contribute on CITRIX so our users
(who have valid licenses) can use Contribute from home when there
is an emergency.
I can't seem to find any documentation here on Adobe's site.

Anyway to recreate white text blue background ala word and word perfect?

Just stretching the background isn't going to cut it. I need the whole screen dark or I get headaches. anyone have a sexy way to make the color view invert feature work like in Word? It would make my day, I love everything about pages, but need the dark screen. thanks everyone.

Have you tried looking at the system level instead of the program level for this? Theres setting for things like this I think.

In Contribute CS3, using MacBookPro with Snow Leopard HELP locked

I am using Contribute CS3 and I can connect to site, but when I get into the edit screen whenever I click anywhere, I get the rainbow spiral and it literally takes 20 to 30 minutes to stop. then when I click again to do something it starts again and I can't ever make any changes. It says I also have an unpublished document but when I click on the "unpublished document" hot words, I go into spiral again. what can I do? I am on a MacBook Pro with snow Leopard.

Could you please mention the code which you are getting in this error dialogue box.

Help with Contribute CS3

I'm working for a gallery with Contribute CS3, and we have recently had the Mac updated to Mountain Lion. Unfortunately, Contribute will no longer open. When I try to launch the program, a dialog box pops up and reads "No Document types have been found. The application will exit now." To add fuel to this fire, no one here seems to be able to locate the original install discs. Is this something I can fix, or is it time to update the program entirely?

I don't think that CS3 is going to run on Mountain Lion. You'll probably need to upgrade at this point.

The current version of the free LibreOffice continues to support Word Perfect documents. OpenOffice had to drop this support due to licensing issues. LO installs in two places: /Applications and your local Library/Application Support directory. Simple to install. Simple to remove. Good PDF documentation from their site. It is a capable MS Office replacement.
I just opened a wpd legal deposition in LO and it looked fine.

To remove the Contribute plug ins - you will need to close
both Contribute and MS Office applications. Then navigate to
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Contribute CS3 and rename the
following file from officeplugin.dll to officeplugin.dllOLD. When
you relaunch Word, Excel or Outlook - the Contribute toolbar should
be removed.
If you choose to add the toolbar again in the future, you
just need to remove the OLD from the file name. Then bring up the
command.exe window and browse to the program's directory C:\Program
Files\Adobe\Adobe Contribute CS3\ and then run the following
command: regsvr32 officeplugin.dll
This will re-register the .dll file responsible for the
toolbar.

Hi everyone!
I have one of our users uploading photos to our website. At the moment she uses an FTP connection via Adobe Contribute CS3 to our web server. This has worked great in the past. However, at the moment she's uploading pictures to a dynamic website [Wordpress] and not using Contribute to edit the pages directly [as this is obviously done with the Wordpress Administration web panel]. The method she has been using is, within Adobe Contribute CS3, File>Publish File from My Computer. This is great, but the problem is that she can only upload one file at a time, and if she's already uploaded the file, she has no way of knowing she's uploaded it before, except for that Contribute appends a 001 at the end of the file name.
How can she access a folder structure within Contribute CS3, treating it like an FTP client? I'm sure this must be doable. Yes, I could install an FTP client, but she's very comfortable using Contribute CS3 and uses this application for other portions of the website which are static.

Hi,
To check if she's already uploaded the file, she can click the Choose button in Contribute. On clicking Choose button, Choose File dialog will be shown. In this dialog, she can browse to the appropriate folder in which she had published the images, and verify the contents.
For uploading multiple files through Publish File from my Computer, I do not think it is possible as of now. There can be a workaround though, insert all the images you want to a web page, and publish the web page to the website. Then, all the images will be published along with the web page. Then, you can delete that web page.
Note: The images in a web page, generally are placed in the 'images' directory of the website by Contribute. If you are placing the images in different folder, then, make sure that you change the publish folder for images to that folder.

Does anyone know if Pages will open word perfect documents or if word perfect can open Pages documents?
