Contribute CS4 - Can you schedule Publishing?

Dear Community,
Is it possible to schedule publishing on Contribute CS4? I'd like to apply some changes to my website and have Contribute CS4 publish them automatically at the end of the day, 5pm for example, rather than having to publish manually.
Is this possible?

I do not think it is possible to schedule publishing of web pages, with Contribute as of now. But, you could send it as a Feature Request using the following link:

I honestly wouldn't do that. You have no idea if the software update server will be properly functioning then. Also you should always backup your data prior installing updates.
Note when you install updates, you also have the option to install later, but just download first.
Always make sure the updates work with each other by finding out the requirements from the developer before installing. A clone backup will let you recover yourself to the point before the install, if you do it right.

Is it possible to schedule a page to load at a specific time/date? For example, I need my home page to update at 9am on Friday, but I will be out of the office at that time, can Dreamweaver do it for me automatically?
I am using Dreamweaver CS3 on a Mac running OSX 10.4.11.

Here's a very simple sample using php. As its Thursday you will get the message 'This is Thursday and our prices are reduced by 25%' any other day and you will get the message '10% discount today'

Depending on how complex you want to get.....you may need to get the information from a database.

Can you still publish your website to .Mac if your mac account expired?

My .Mac Account recently expired, and I did renew it. I was wondering if I can still publish my website to .Mac.
I have iWeb 1.1.2.
Can someone please help?

If the account expired and you didn't renew it you can't publish to it anymore unless you do renew it.
.Mac isn't free, thus you have to pay to use it, thus if you don't you can't use it anymore.

Can you schedule a report to be emailed out?

Is there a way to have a schedule a report to run and then email the results out to either myself or a set email address?

Your SMTP server in private domain should be configured in such a way that multiple domains in the organisation are configured and thus the same configuration on the Adaptive Job server.

Currently, we are collecting email addresses in a database field. We want to send the generated reports to only these email addresses. Is there a way to add a dynamic value to the "To:" field when scheduling a report?
The goal is to schedule the reports and let them be sent to these addresses so it removes the step of manually entering the addresses.

It's not clear what tool you are using to schedule your reports.This may require a 3rd-party tool. See list of such tools at: http://www.kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html. My Visual CUT software allows you to drag & drop an email field/formula from the report itself into the "Email To" option, to dynamically drive email options by the data in the report. Alternatively, it allows you to use an SQL Query or a Text file to specify email addresses.- Ido

Can you not publish some pages?

i have a website but want to 'hide' some of the pages for editing purposes. is there a way to make them not appear on the website without deleting them entirely?
they are currently on the website now, but i want to make the website 'under construction' until i have the images I want up there.. do i have to delete all the pages entirely??

The inspector window gives you the option to not include a page in the navigation bar.
An easy way to achieve your goal is to simply not include the particular pages in the navigation bar. Someone would have to type in the exact web address of the particular page in order to get to it (which isn't likely).
If you don't provide a path to the page then you have effectively hidden the page.
On one of my pages I enabled a small box as a link to an unfinished page (just slightly opaque so it's not obvious) so I can see how things look but not have any traffic going to the unfinished page.

Can you Schedule an email to be sent at a later time in Mail 7.1?

Hello! Is there still no option for Sending an Email at a later time/date in Mail 7.1??

Just came across this post as I'm looking for a way to do this on my iPad or phone. As far as scheduling emails on my MacBook Pro and iMac, I use Send Later. Integrates well with mail and has been updating every time mail has an update. Just type up your email as normal, and instead of clicking Send, 'Send Later' adds a Send Later button right next to the Send button. Click that and select your date and time. Also it's not freeware, think its $9.99, but again well worth it as you get all the updates no cost.

Can you group published apps in Server 2012 R2 ?

I know it wasn't possible on older versions of RDS/TS, but I thought this was a feature in 2012.

Yes, you can organize RemoteApps into folders that will show up in RD Web Access. In the properties of each RemoteApp there is a box to enter or select the folder name.

Sending Publisher Connection Key gives Admin Rights in Contribute CS4

I manage numerous remote sites around the country remotely using Contribute CS4. Each site uses a common template with different header images and left navigation.
All of these sites function beautifully except one. On this particular site, sending a publisher connection key allows the user to connect to and edit pages on the site. However, the connection shows my (admin) email address, gives the user admin rights, and then puts a lock (.lck) file on almost all of the files, including the .CSS file. It also gives odd messages about workflow errors.
From my end on the Contribute Administer Websites panel, the user shows up as publisher, but on their end, they have admin rights and my email address displays on their connection
I tried deleting all of the files in the _mm and _notes folders and starting over, but this did not fix the problems.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Did you try re-creating Publisher keys for them, and sending it to your client? Also, with the existing key which your client has, what is the Role information for that connection key? This can be checked in the My Connections dialog.
Where is your e-mail address being shown? If it is in the My Connections dialog along with the connection name, then that is because the administrator's e-mail address is shown there.

How can you get the schedule of a single reoccurring job with Restart ability in Redwood to pause when it has failed...?

We need the Request Restart ability when scheduling a single reoccurring job in Redwood. Most of our jobs are scheduled in CHAINs which offers the Final Status Handler on Step level, and the schedule is "paused" when a job in the CHAIN has failed ( the next instance does not populate until the OP MSG has been Replied to) , and once the OPERATOR message is replied to, the CHAIN can resume running again ( desired ) . But we need this same ability when scheduling a single job not in a CHAIN. In our testing, we set up a job with Request Restart chosen on the Error , Killed and Unknown selections on the Restart Behavior Tab. But we found when a job is scheduled say once a day at 8AM, and when it fails, an OPERATOR msg appears allowing a Restart choice ( desired), but the next day's schedule also populates ( undesired) and we do NOT want the schedule to continue on yet because we need a chance to fix the error before the next insance runs for business reasons. So how can you get the schedule of a single reoccurring job with Restart ability in Redwood to pause when it has failed...?

Hello Fran,
You can wrap the job chain in a master job chain in the first step and set the final status handler there.
You can also set the Restart Behavior to 'Stop Submit Frame', in that case you will have to resubmit the job once you are finished troubleshooting.

Can You Build a Website with iWeb and then publish it to another server?

I am very new at this but like how easy iWeb makes it to build a website. A few questions for the newbie:
1. I want to build a site but have another server I use who would host it. After watching the iWeb tutorials it looks as if you have to publish it on mobileme.com. But I already have hosting with another company. How do you do that?
2. I also have a domain name I want to show up in the hyperlink bar not mobileme.com/____, is that possible to do with this program?
3. Are their other templates for iWeb? I see about 12 or so they offer, can you search and download for new ones or is what's there all you have to choose from?
I appreciate any help on these matters.

Can you specify which pages to publish and which not?

Hi all, perhaps I'm overlooking it, but I'm making changes to my site. Currently some pages have been fully updated and others not. What I'd like to do is load the current pages that are finished, have them updated on my site, but the pages that are still being edited I'd like to have not uploaded. Is there a way to direct iweb to publish certain pages but not others? I'm hoping so b/c if not, it would seem as though it's written "all or nothing." That is, you finish every single edit you want before publishing. That would seem like an oversight as editing a site can clearly be an ongoing thing. I have pages I'd like to add, but they aren't ready for publishing, so I'd like to have them not publish. Anyone know of a way to do this? Thanks.

If you are using the page template navigation menu, then simply hide the navigation links to the pages that are not finished. There is nothing you can do to stop iWeb publishing the pages, but if you hide them until they are ready, then they will be published, but not viewable without the links.
The other thing that you can do is select Publish to MobileMe rather than Publish All to MobileMe. If you select Publish All, then your whole site will be published, however, if you select Publish, only the pages of your site that have been changed will be published.
Hiding pages of a text based nav bar should also work. To do this, open the Inspector and go to Page and there are two settings that have hide nav menu and do not include in nav menu. You want the second one if you don't want to include the page.
