  • After upgrading to mountain lion, contribute cs4 did not open

    After upgrading to Mountain Lion, I found that Contribute CS4 did not open.  In searching for an answer I found the following on the Adobe forum:
    "Earlier versions of Adobe Photoshop (CS3 and CS4) software were also tested with Mountain Lion and there are currently no known issues."
    So continuing to search, two days of frustration ensued as I "chatted" with 2 unhelpful Adobe customer support reps, searched unhelpful Apple and Adobe websites and posted my question in various places.  Finally I found that the above statement was completely wrong when I received the following from an Adobe staffer:
    Mountain LION is not a supported platform for Adobe Contribute CS4. The supported versions are Latest Adobe Contribute 6.5 and Adobe Contribute CS5.X.
    And now I have to spend hundreds in order to maintain my website after upgrading to Mountain Lion.  I don't even know to whom I should take my complaint, Apple or Adobe.  Does this mean I have to research every piece of software I use before upgrading my Mac?  At the very least, Mac owners should be forwarned of platform support failures for major 3rd party producers. I'm doing my bit here.   How about you taking some responsibility?

    I just baught a new imac from the apple store and loaded mountain lion when I got home due to the time it would take there.  I then used migration assitant to load CS4 from my mac pro that is using snow lepord.  This worked flawlessly. CS4 and Bridge work great.  I then downloaded the mountain lion upgrade to my wifes mac pro that was also using snow lepord and once mountain lion was instaled it disabled CS4 compleatly.  I will repost the results tomorrow. I believe that I can reinstall CS4 to her mac pro now that she has mountain lion installed using migration assistant from my mac pro since it worked this way with the new imac.  I hope this works because I want to upgrade my mac pro to mountain lion but can't afford to lose CS4.

  • How can you hide a Continue button until all clickboxes are clicked?

    I have seen similar questions to this one, but none seemed to be the exact situation as mine.
    What I have: Several images on a screen.  When a user clicks an image it is replaced with another image.  I am using clickboxes for this task.  I do not wish for them to toggle back and forth. Once they click the original image it should stay changed.
    What I am trying to do: Once a learner clicks all the images (in no particular order) a Continue button appears that allows them to go to the next screen.
    If anyone has some suggestions on this situation please let me know, thanks.

    I cannot log in on the forum for the moment, so will try by answering by
    mail. I was aware of that problem (have presented those solutions so
    often), thought that since you left all images visible once the click box
    was clicked it wouldn't be a problem.
    Two possible solutions:
       1. Easiest one: add a statement in the Always decision that will Hide
       the click box just clicked. It has no sense to click it another time. That
       will mean that you still can do it with a shared action but that shared
       action will have two parameters now, the second one being the click box
       that has to adapted on each application of the shared action.
       2. If you don't want to make the click box hidden (which means at the
       same time disabled), you'll need a user variable for each click box,
       starting with a default value of 0, and toggle it in the Decision 'Always'
       to 1. The second decision will then need a condition that checks the value
       of all the user variables (with AND) and shows the Next button only when
       all variables have the value of 1.
    Sorry, but have to mail, cannot offer a screenshot in that case.

    How to hide Upload Document button in a sharepoint library programmatically?

  • Hide Alert Me button of a Document Library

    Hi All,<o:p></o:p>
    I know there are some questions already out there on this topic. However, somehow I am
    not able to make it work in my case.<o:p></o:p>
    I want to hide Alert Me button on the ribbon for a specific document library. I added JavaScript
    to hide the button, however the issue is, when the page is loaded, I couldn't
    find the button, because it is still not available. <o:p></o:p>
    I tried to handle the click event of the FILES and LIBRARY text. However, I think
    SharePoint already has js files like, ribbon.js and core.js which handle the
    click event for FILES and LIBRARY and display the buttons accordingly. So my
    custom JavaScript function doesn't fire at all.<o:p></o:p>
    Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. <o:p></o:p>

    Hi,
    Did you add content editor webpart and place the script
    <p><script language="javascript">
    function RemoveMenuItems()
    var menuItems = document.getElementsByTagName('ie:menuitem');
    for(var i = 0; i < menuItems.length; i++ )
    var menuItem = menuItems[i];
    var menuText = menuItem.getAttribute("text");
    switch(menuText)
    case "Alert Me":
    menuItem.parentNode.removeChild(menuItem);
    break;
    function AddSendSubMenu(m,ctx)
    return ;
    _spBodyOnLoadFunctionNames.push("RemoveMenuItems");
    </script></p><p></p><p>http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/a35496a7-fad3-455b-9400-e2a90f0ed7e5/hide-context-menu-of-a-document-library-such-as-alert-me-and-send-to?forum=sharepointcustomizationlegacy</p>

  • Use embedded .swf to hide/show a button

    Captivate 4
    Flash CS4
    ActionScript 2.0
    Afternoon Fellow Captivators!!
    okay - so here's the thing, I have a custom interaction that i have built in Flash.  I want to force the user to go through this entire interaction before proceeding to the next slide.  The easiest way, in my eyes, to do this would be.
    1) Hide the "next" button, toggle it's "visible" to off
    2) The user then goes through the entire animation/interaction
    3) at the end of the interaction, the animation communicates with Captivate to now SHOW the "next" button - or toggle it's visibility to on...
    Does anyone else know of a way to do this - I've been looking through all of the Captivate variables, and don't see anything to toggle the visible option for it.
    Thanks for the help!

    If you want to accomplish this in Captivate 4, Paul Dehurst has a Widget that will do what you need.  He offers it for FREE at his site here:  http://www.raisingaimee.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=113:hideshow-bu ttons-widgets&catid=31:captivate-4&Itemid=55
    If you use it, you might consider making a donation to him for his incredible work!
    The downside is that Paul has retired from Widget making and there is no update for Captivate 5.  Anyone want to take this development on for Cap 5?

  • Contribute CS4 for Mac crashes

    I have Contribute 3 and tried to used it in an Intel Mac and it crashes on launch, so I thought I need an upgrade and last night
    I bought Contribute CS4 and I have the exact same problem: It crashes on launch I have to force quit it.
    Before I had a Trial version and it worked fine, is when typed in the serial that the trial version froze, so I downloaded a new one
    and after installation go fine, then I clicked "Launch the App" and I only get to see the splash window, then it crashes.
    A few hours ago I discovered that I need the serial for Macromedia Contribute 3, can someone please tell how I get that serial?
    I registered at Macromedia.
    Thank you

    This is an ongoing problem I was associated with the following thread
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/1049444?tstart=0#1049444
    but it has been closed because it has been 'answered'!  When I searched for this thread I could not find it and I only have it because I found it in an email to myself (almost as if Adobe is trying to hide it!)
    I am still having the issues and have had to
    delete all reference to Contribute CS4 in Library/Application Support and Library/Preferences.
    Relaunch Contribute
    Go to Contribute --> My Connections and Check the 'do not connect to websites at startup'
    Re do your site Connection
    This may work for a while but the problem is certainly not fixed.  I manage my school's intranet and have up to 100 people connected.  We ahve foolishly just upgraded to CS4!!
    Good Luck, hopefully Adobe may reopen the discussion on this matter and actually fix it.  Ironically, every time it crashes the Adobe Crash Reporter does not open so Apple get 20 reports from me a day!

  • Contribute CS4 Crashes Using Vimeo Links

    We recently started posting videos on Vimeo and tried to add links on our website (using Contribute CS4).  We can create a link to any Vimeo page but then Contribute will crash when editing any text or when looking at the properties of the hyperlink.  If I remove the Vimeo link the crashing problems immediately go away.  This happens even if the link is just to http://vimeo.com.
    We will consider upgrading Contribute if this problem goes away in newer version, but we don't want to spend more on Contribute if the problem also exists in newer versions.  Anyone else having this experience?

    fitpuppy wrote:
    questions:  where is the InDesign Defaults file?  and, most importantly, how can I fix this problem?  It's really hard to work w/o a links panel.
    If replacing prefs will work (no promises, but sudden flakiness like this is a good candidate), you'll find all you need at Replace Your Preferences
    If it doesn't work, post a link to the crash report as John suggests and he can probably give you some insight into what the problem is.

  • Contribute CS4 authplay.dll error on launch

    Clean install of newly purchased Contribute CS4 on client system that exceeds system requirements. Upon initial launch, error RE: authplay.dll and program goes not further than initial splash screen. Can only kill the process at that point to close it.
    What is the solution?

    I purchased three copies of Contribute CS4 to be installed on Win XP machines. One laptop runs without errors. The two desktop machines give the error "Contribute has encountered a problem and needs to close" and "AppName: contribute.exe        AppVer: 5.0.0.3264                ModName: authplay.dll
    ModVer: 10.0.0.521 Offset: 00205ce6".
    I ran a search for authplay.dll on the troubled systems and found multiple versions; I rolled the file back to 10.0.0.508 which I found in Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Utilities/Extendscript Toolkit CS4.
    This seems to have fixed the problem, at least for now. I am able to open Contribute on all machines as of this writing (however I fully expect the Adobe Updater to undo my efforts with the file in question the next time it runs).
    Hopefully this may help others.

  • Contribute CS4

    Can you use Contribute CS4 behind a ISA Proxy?

    No. I know it's stupid. There are three outgoing requests
    from Contribute.
    1) FTP -> this has a proxy setting
    2) http / https (in web browser only) --> this can be set
    in control panel.
    3) https: soap object that goes to CPS -->>>> NO
    PROXY setting.
    I've asked the same question before, don't except them to
    answer it. They seem to just ignore this huge flaw in their
    program.
    -- to be more clear you can use CPS -- as long as your inside
    the proxy but once you are outside the proxy there is no way for
    the SOAP object (that contains all the CPS info) to get
    inside.

  • Contribute CS4 Newbie Help

    Hello, I just downloaded the free trial version of Contribute
    CS4...installation when alright but when I try to open Contribute
    it takes quite a long time and then when it finally opens I get an
    error message that says Suitcase is having trouble opening specific
    Helvetica fonts. Is this a Contribute issue...a CS4 issue...a
    Suitcase issue...or do I have some corrupt fonts?
    What I'm running:
    Mac OS X 10.4.11
    Suitcase X1
    I also have been running CS3 and this is the first CS4
    program I am trying.
    Also on a side note. I have another question about
    Contribute. I am looking at getting a CMS for some clients and one
    of my friends suggested Contribute...my question to the Contribute
    community is what are you takes on Contribute being a viable CMS?
    And, if I were to chose to use Contribute would my clients need to
    purchase Contribute to author the website...how does that process
    work?
    Thanks!

    Each client requires a license of Contribute (and yourself,
    to admin the site).
    Best way to set the site up for Contribute is to use Editable
    regions (created by Dreamweaver, or by handcoding, search this form
    on "handcoding"), so your users cannot mess up the design.

  • Reg : show/hide subforms under buttons in Static page(Java Script)

    Hi All ,
    I am creating Adobe Interactive form(static page). In this page have 3 buttons.For each button one subform is there. I want to show/hide subforms under buttons.
    I am using javascript. Please give me the code for this.
    Thanks
    Risha

    Hi Risha,
    can you explain your question like do u have some condtions to show or hide the subform? OR if u click
    button you want to show the subform and by default subform should be hidden something like this?
    Normally for showing the subfrom on click of the button: (By default make your subform invisible from its properties).
    Select the button and in the click event select java script option and write the following code:
    Subform.presence = "visible";
    (*you have to give full path of the subform instead of only subform name).
    With Regards,
    Ravi

  • CS4 Mac: Inserting PayPal buttons?

    Hello.  I have a Mac user who needs to be able to create specific PayPal buttons for new events and update a web page with the new button as the event draws near.  Can this be done in Mac Contribute CS4?  Does the user create the button in PayPal and cut-and-paste the code, or do it in CS4?  I've seen references to a WebAssist.com toolkit, but it seems like the toolkit requires Dreamweaver, which the user does not have.
    The user currently has Contribute 3 running on Snow Leopard and it keeps crashing, so I need to upgrade him soon.
    Thanks
    David

    In Contribute CS4, one can insert these Paypal buttons - Buy Now, Add To Cart, View Cart, Subscription and Donation buttons. In the Insert Menu, there is PayPal sub-menu, and select any of them. For any other custom PayPal buttons, you can copy the code, and in Contribute insert it as a HTML snippet. (That is, copy the code associated with PayPal button, in Contribute select Insert menu, and select HTML snippet sub-menu. In the HTML Snippet dialog box, paste the PayPal code.)
    Hope this helps. Cheers!!!

    Do not mean the same thing.
    Adobe probably DID test and found no problems with their machines using their configurations but they can't cover every possible configuration out there so there's bound to be some instances (or many instances) where it won't work.
    Hence the second quote saying it is not supported...
