Contribute (CS5) thinks it can't see my internet.

I looked around a bit and didn't see anyone else with the same errors. Hopefully this is just one of those issues where there's a checkbox somewhere I'm not checking, or vice versa.
I just installed Contribute CS5 today and have been trying to connect it to one of my websites (for which I regularly use a free FTP program).
Contribute can't seem to see my internet connection at all. When I type in a website in the Connections wizard, I get a popup box telling me "Contribute cannot find this ... would you like to try to connect anyway?"
I hit Yes and enter my FTP login information. On the next screen, I can hit "Choose" and see all my ftp folders for the site, but if I choose one and hit Next, I get a popup box saying "Contribute cannot verify your connection information. <website> Please contact your administrator for assistance."
I hit Cancel and go to Help, which opens Adobe Community Help, and get a popup saying "The requested page requires an internet connection." and it won't load anything.
Also, attempting to browse to any website through Contribute does not work, I get "This page cannot be displayed" errors for any website I try, including Adobe pages.
Obviously my internet connection is working, as I am posting this message. I opened my regular FTP program and verified that I can indeed connect using that.
Sorry that was a little long-winded.. has anyone else ever had the same strange error? Is there something I'm not doing particularly right?

My WRT54g2 can't see the internet through my wrt54g...

My company gave me a new laptop that will not allow WEP connectivity. I need wep for printers and other devices on my network so I bought a new wrt54g2 to handle WPA wireless and plugged it into one of the open ports on the old router. I went into the admin and configured everything to my liking but for some reason it won't grab a connection... What do I need to do to get it to see the internet through the old router...

If connecting one router to another, connect the two together by the networking ports. Then turn off the DHCP server on the second router, which sounds like the WRT54G2 in this case. You will probably also have to reconfigure the Local IP Address of the second router so it in the same IP range as the first router but outside of the first router's DHCP server addresses. For example if router one's Local IP Address is set to 192.168.1.1, then set router two's Local IP Address to 192.168.1.5 (or something along those lines).
Or switch the routers around and use the WRT54G2 as the main router and the older one configured for WEP as the secondary router and turn of DHCP on the secondary router. Other changes like reconfiguring the second router's Local IP Address will still have to be made. Or check your existing wireless devices configured for WEP to see if they will support or can be updated to support WPA or WPA2. If so remove the existing router and use the WRT54G2 in its place.
Also, make sure both routers have different wireless SSID names and are on different wireless channels to avoid conflict.

Goto Trend.com and run a full scan using house call its free. Then please install virus protection unless you love replacing hard drives and memory chips. You have a bad malware or virus on your computer that is causing these issues. You can pick up from any where especially from game sites and you tube sites. Ounce your system is clean then we be able to help you repair damages. Go from there. I hope D. drive has not been damaged yet. Recovery is easy to do. Provided D drive was not effected. What I would do is purchase two things a very good anti virus software such as Trend Micro Titanium Pro. Farely in expensive and a set of recovery disks from HP. Then just insert recovery disks and install anti virus software. These computers are excellent and are easley maintainable. I know Trend Titanium Pro can scan your back up files from this effected computer when you add these files back on again. I would start backing up my personal filed while you wait for delivery of recovery factory recovery disc. Yes it is easy to do recoveries but I think your D. drive has been damaged based on what you wrote. That is why I recommend you purchasing a set recovery disc.

One computer of 3 on a wifi network can't see the internet

I tried a no-no earlier this week and have had a serious problem ever since. I tried to share files over a AE wifi network which was also carrying a cable modem. Everything stopped working, but after considerable sweat, I got two of my three computers (both OS 10.3.9 working fine. My primary computer however does not yet have internet connectivity. I can turn airport on, and it connects up fine, but for some reason my computer thinks that the cable modem is plugged into the ethernet port, instead of the SE base station.
I have tried everything I can think of, and a few desperation measures but nothing has worked so far. I tried fixing permissions, trashing the internet connectivity plist, and every permutation of settings of things that I could think of. I have left the base station alone, since it is working fine with the other two computers which both enjoy internet connectivity.
Any ideas?

Sharing files over a WiFi network created by an Airport Express (which also happens to be sharing a cable internet connection) is not a "no-no". It should work perfectly. The mistake many people make is to assume they need to select the option from the Airport menu to "create a computer to computer network" - and that is neither necessary nor correct. That being said...
Open System Preferences->Network. Make sure the "Automatic" location is chosen. In the Show drop down box, select "Network port configurations". In the list that appears (a) drag Airport to the top of the list and (b) make sure the box next to Airport is checked. Then go back to the Show drop down box and select Airport. Under the TCP/IP tab, make sure you have selected to "configure using DHCP" and that all other fields are left blank. Then go back to your Mac's Airport menu (top of the screen), make sure Airport is turned on, and select to connect to your Airport Express wireless network.
Also - make sure that in System Preferences->Network->Sharing, that "internet connection sharing" is not enabled (just in case you messed with it when you were trying to set up file sharing).

WRT160N can't see modem / Internet

Hi all,
I'm upgrading my older Linksys Wireless Router (BEFW11S4) with a new WRT160N and can't seem to get the new router to see the modem or internet. I can swap out the ethernet cables betweent he old and new router and connect just fine with the older one (which is how I'm online now). I've gone thru all the suggested options in the Easy Link advisor (power cycling, etc), ran the CD that come with it, and it still shows the connection to Modem and Internet as red. I also tried cloning the MAC as suggested on the site but that hasn't worked either. Eash LInk keeps telling me to talk to ISP, but clearly the connection w/ them isn't the issue as the older Linksys works fine. All lights on the modem and router appear normal.
Platform is a newer Dell computer with Intel CPU and Vista OS. Connection is cable broadband thru comcast. Modem is Arris TM502G (standard comcast issue).
Any suggestions or thoughts?

Try resetting the router.
Press the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. The Power light will start flashing. Turn the Router and the Modem OFF. Turn the modem ON first, wait for 10 seconds, turn the router ON, wait for 10 seconds, you should be ONLINE !!!
If not online, than clone the MAC Address.

Tried everything I can think of -- can't connect to Internet

Please excuse me -- I should have posted this here, instead of another discussion. No one has even attempted a reply; I hope I can get some advise here. Thanks for ANY advice.
I'm able to get onto the Internet by piggybacking on a nearby open LAN.( I am not a new user, but I'm not a computer scientist.)
This is a desperation act because I can no longer connect to the Internet via Earthlink, my ISP. I have checked every aspect, physical connections to switching from my G5 to my iBook and back again to configure my Airport Extreme base station. I have even switched AEs. I have changed my own network stats. I have replaced the phone wire. I have changed routers. I have even changed modems, but I was unable to program it, thanks to missing instructions mostly meant for Windows users anyway.
I am using a Broadmax DSL modem from Earthlink, and have spent close to two hours on the phone with 3 techies. They really tried to help.
When I mentioned my phone line was from Verizon I heard ununderstandable muttering. The paranoid thought came to me: Was Verizon sabotaging Earthlink to get its customers to switch? How's that for paranoia? I even called Verizon to switch to them, but they are total incompetents -- the techies are good, if you get a good one, but the rest of the outfit haven't yet figured out what to do with two tin cans and a length of string.
The Earthlink techies and I finally agreed it might be a bad modem and another is on the way to me.
I am not confident.
My first and original modem, the Broadmax, could always be fixed by going through the unplugging it for a few seconds or hours, and then I'd have no problems for many months, until I went away and unplugged it. Getting back on the Internet was a nightmare.
The phone line, DSL, is OK. I can make voice calls over it, but the DSL just isn't there.
I may have programmed the Airport express bae staion incorrectly, except that the Internet DSL modem connection quit literally all by itself. After months of working, it just "quit." The modem async PPPoe light blinks signalling no sync. (I don't use PPPoe and it's not checked on my Network pane.)
Having tracked all, and I mean ALL, the usual suspects, I am on the point of hiring an Apple guy to come in and help me. But I would appreciate any advice from someone knowledgeable about this situation.

Yes, I have MAC filtering on. I had it off until a few hours ago. Neither seems to make a difference. Thanks for the suggestion, though. I also had made everything simpler, turning off WEP. Turned it back on. Neither made a difference. The only things I can now consider, it seems, are a bad modem or wrong AE programming.

I am trying to get itunes to access the internet and be able to update it's self and my Ipod classic. It has worked in the past but now it does not. I dont want to dump my hard drive and start over. Does anyone have an idea where to start?

Where did you see Aurora as a Windows 8 application?
Aurora is not the name of a version but one of the four main development channels. They are Release (26.0), Beta (27.0b9 currently), Aurora (28.0a2) and Nightly (29.0a1). When Firefox 27.0 is released on Feb 4 the versions will move/merge to next channel around time also.
Aurora is not meant for regular use as Aurora and Nightly gets checkins almost everyday and they get a update each of those days.
Also there is a good chance that the Australis that many people dislike will move with 29.0 from Nightly to the Aurora channel next week.

CS5.5 Can't see Pantone Color Bridge libraries!

I am using Creative Suite CS5.5 Trial version for now on Windows 7 platform. For some reason I don't see Pantone Color Bridge libraries, only the old ones, but none of the Plus Series. I was able to see these colors on version 5, but not here. Can't see them on Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign. I wonder if CS5.5 supports these colors. I even downloaded a plugin from Pantone and Pantone Color Manager, but with no luck. I contacted Pantone, but still waiting for a response. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
