Contribute shows old image in template

Hi,
I have Contribute CS3 showing an old image in a template. I
created a new image and named the same as the old image and replace
the old one in the server. Now Contribute is still showing the old
image. I tried hitting the Refresh Templates button in the New
Page... window, but it didn't work.
Does anyone have any advice?

Have you checked on the server if the file is really
replaced. If you dont have rights to delete files Contribute does
not overwrite the file, but names it something like
'yourimage_001.jpg' if your image was called 'yourimage.jpg'.
To adjust settings to delete files, these are the steps (if
you are the administrator) :
1. in the main menu go to Edit, Administer Websites
2. select to Users and Roles
3. select the role you want to adjust and click Edit Role
Settings
4. select Folder/File Access
5. go to the last setting 'Allow users to delete files they
have permission to edit' and select it.

Larger image changed, but smaller thumbnails still show old image

Hi,
I want to change the image for my podcast. I added the new image to my server and added an image tag to my rss file pointing to it. Now in the iTunes store, the larger thumbnail shows the correct image, but the smaller thumbnails in the store show the old one. Do I just need to wait longer, or is there something else I have to do?

For some reason the thumbnails in the Search results take longer to update than the image on the Store page. They're both drawn from the same tag in your feed, so there's nothing you can do except wait: it will probably sort itself out in a day or two.
Edit: actually I just searched on your podcast title and the search results showed the same image as the main Store page.
Another edit: I assume you are talking about the Search results, not what you see when you subscribe? Those images are embedded in the media files, not referenced in the feed. I just downloaded one of the episodes on subscription and I see it has a different image. In order to change this you will have to embed new images in every episode and re-upload them - see here.

Open apps in task bar shows old images of we pages and even photos

I have been frustrated to discover after I close out a website or close and even delete a photo after I switch apps and come back to it maybe even a day or week later sometimes safari and photos will display old data on pages that aren't really open but were at one point in history, hence giving an ipad user almost no privacy.

They are not open apps, they are displaying what was on the screen when you closed it. A demonstration. Turn your camera on, now double click. The camera is still on. That's an open app. Now turn your camera on, and press the home button. Now double click, you'll see a still of what was on the camera when you turned it off. Ergo if it was there when you closed it, it will be there when you open it.

Old OSX Spotlight function automatically displayed path/location within the machine: e.g. desktop/folder/sub-folder/item.
Can I make Spotlight show the path?

Press option-command and the path is displayed at the bottom of the little preview window. Press command-return and the enclosing folder opens.

Browser should show ALL images, in all formats.

I recently opened an image for editing from Lightroom to Photoshop, corrected some perspective distortion, and saved the result as a PNG. Lightroom then failed to show the new image, even after I synchronized the folder. A respondent in the Lightroom forum said that Lightroom doesn't support PNG, to which I ask, WTF?
Lightroom should support any format supported by Photoshop. It displays JPEGs, which aren't a raw format. Exactly how many products should we have to run concurrently to simply manage images? Lightroom is supposed to be the product that does it, but if it fails to show all images in each directory, it fails at its purpose.

Very true, though I am more arguing that LR should be able to leverage formats available to other Adobe products installed on the same machine more than anything.
BMP and PCX, no most cameras don't use those formats *anymore*. But I remember having an old camera that took photos in BMP format (it may have been a webcam, but still a camera) which I have in my library from a long time ago. In my day job we still actually use applications that suprisingly enough can only display PCX images; though I never would intentionally keep anything in PCX.
I think anything it is able to import it should be able to export; but again if you have it natively supported in the Adobe product or universally supported by the OS without additional codec installation it should be supported, even if it is something obscure as PCX.

Yeah, I understand that neither Canon nor Nikon are supporting DNG files straight out of the camera yet and both still maintain a propreitary formated RAW file, but I would suspect that generally a Canon .CR2 file doesn't change all that much if at all other than the camera identifier from a 20D to a 5D Mk II to the 7D for example.
Why do current Lightroom users need to wait until Adobe releases 2.6 or 3.0 to be able to use Lightroom with their 7D?

Yes the mfg. need to be more open or pick a standard and run with it, but it just seems excessive for Adobe not to play nice too.
It is in Canon/Nikon/Adobe's best interest to play nice and share this information with Adobe. So I am betting they are not withholding it. I was getting Canon SDK notifications for the longest time and sometimes months before a Camera was available, and sometimes it was even annouced this information was made available to developers on new camera models. I am sure Nikon does the same thing and Adobe is getting this information from all mfg.

How can I add .PNG images to templates without getting a white background?

I'm having problems with a image field when I add a .png image which doesnt have a background it is showing up with a white background. Is it possible to use images in templates so you can overlay them on something else?

Hi, You can do this but only with a PNG with a palette of 256 colors (maybe GIF as well) so doesn't get a lot of use, good enough for image buttons and the like, but might be ok for your image as it does not have that many colors. Otherwise radzmar's suggestion would be the better approach.
This is the link I was tring to find (in your previous thread) that tells how to do it using GIMP (a free image editor), http://smartforms.business.gov.au/DeveloperResources/Pages/HintsandTips.aspx , but the one I have uploaded here comes from photoshop (in photoshop it is called an indexed png).

Picture Library : upload image with same name overwrite the image in thumbmail or WebVersion view but not the actual image link points to the old image

I am facing a wired issue with Picture Libraries in SharePoint.
We created a custom field and added it to UserInfo list, the column based on custom field lets user upload their personal images to a Picture Library with the name <User ID>.<Image Extension> e.g. 1.jpg where UserID is internal Listitem ID of the UserInfo list and set its URL to the field value which we use to display the image on our custom user profile and some other WebParts.
If the user uploads a different image, it will overwrite the existing one it keeping the same name.
The field worked perfectly with sites using widows Based authentication, but as we move the field to sites with form based authentication we find that the field is able to upload the image properly first time but on each successive upload, although a new image gets uploaded with the name userid.imagextension and is shown in the allitems.aspx page in the thumbnail view and in the picture preview on the dispform.aspx page, but the link next to the name field and the image shown on clicking the preview points to the old image.
To put it other way

what’s even more strange is that even after deleting the image the url still shows the old image at

I confirmed the same by actually repeating the same exercise on a picture Library in the User Interface
Uploading an image say upload.jpeg in the picture library using SharePoint interface.
Then uploading a different jpeg image keeping the same name upload.jpeg again in the picture library.
In allitems.aspx thumbnail view and on dispform.aspx page preview filed image now show the newly uploaded image but when you click the preview image or click the link in the name field value it takes you back to the old image.
I have seen this issue on environment where we have enabled form based authentication and the issue is not seen on another server where we have wss with windows based authentication.
Has anyone noticed such behavior and is there any workaround to that!

All,
I had the same issue.
In my case, Blob Cache was enabled for the web application in which the image issue was occuring.
I cleared blob cache, and after doing a hard refresh of my browser, the correct image was then displayed.
To clear blob cache, do the following:
Navigate to:
http://yourwebapp:port/yoursite/_layouts/objectcachesettings.aspx
Select: "Object Cache Flush" and "Force all servers in the farm to flush their object cache" check boxes
Click the OK button

Oracle lite application not showing blob images in BI reports

Hi,
We have an application running in Oracle lite, we integrated the BI publisher reports (PDF reports are generated Using Data template and RTF file with Java API for BI publisher) with the application. Its been working fine for a long time.
Now we are showing some images on the pdf report, the images are stored in the Oracle lite database as blobs. My application fails when translating the Data template to xml data. I am not getting any exception other than out of memory error after a while.
anybody had the same problem? Let me know if you need more information on this problem.

That was exactly* I was looking for. Maybe I should Google more in German ;-)
The main problem was that I defined my image outside the first repeating group (that doesn't repeat, it's always just one object) - the first group is followed by 7 more.
Just like the "Name" (that's positioned outside the group in the document header), I positioned the image above the table representing the group.
Doing that, the "Name" is filled correctly, the Image only when the Output Format is Excel or HTML - not Word or PDF ... makes no sense but that's tje way it is.
After moving the image inside the group....it works great!
(One more thing...the image size is fixed to the image you use as "dummy". Is there any way to make that more flexible, because now some scaling happens...)???
@Trent: That was the way we initially did it, but when the size of the row exceeds 32K...you know what happens.. And even with a small image the 32K limit is hit easily
The way I use it now (very similar to Carsten's description) there is no limit....

Because I have taken over 9,999 pics, my phone is now duplicating image numbers. The problem is when I am importing with Image Capture, when I select images, the program is importing BOTH the old images of the same number as well as the new ones. Help?

The problem is that Image Capture now imports BOTH images when I select the new ones that share numbers with old ones. The images were completely mixed when they showed up in Image Capture - Old image 0001, new image 0001, old image 0002, new image 0002 and so forth. I clicked on "date," which then rearraged the images, and I selected only the new ones, but when they actually import to my computer BOTH old and new images are importing. Has anyone figured out how to solve this problem?

Well, obviously all I needed to do to solve the problem was to post about it. It has stopped, so all is well!

This is working and image is also being shown but this image is not shown as transparent(where as image is transparent) and also image is having top and bottom shading which is because of dialog or popup. But i dont want this shadow. Also inline style is not working for this popup.
If there is any other way to solve this purpose please suggest.

Bookmark in WAD7 shows old or current data

please confirm
1) if the bookmark created in wad 7 will show old data or the current data if it is run at a later period?
2) the bookmark bi 7 is getting created on the top of the browser page and not on the address bar. how can i enable the wad to display the bookmark created on the address bar.?

bookmark only holds the View/variables not the data., if new data has been added then it will show new data ..
if you are tryingn to shwo the bookamrk at internet explorer level that doesnt work
you can show book mark at the web template level inside the internet explorer. you need to create a menu item and assing bookmark in it.. if you require the steps let me know.

Photobooth showing no image

I have a slight problem. I just got a new iMac (early 2009) and when I open Photobooth it shows no image just a black screen. I really don't know why the green light is on besides the camera but no image. I moved the current install of Leopard from old older iMac G5 non-isight through Time machine to this new iMac. Could that be why Photobooth is not working or could it be something else? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I think that will cause you problems, I would have thought there would have been other difficulties as well.
The Machine is under 12 months old so it my be wise to ask Apple but I think you will probably need to reinstall Leopard from the original DVD that came with the iMac, an archive and install may be good enough.
At least you have your TM backup with your data and applications.

If all you did was rename your ID, you can go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted, then sign back in with your renamed ID. Deleting the account only deletes the account and any data you are syncing with iCloud from your phone, not from iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account and not changing accounts, your data will be synced back to your phone when you sign back in.
If, however, you are changing to a new account with a new ID, choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted. Then choose Merge when you sign into the new account and turn your iCloud syncing back on to upload your data to the new account.
Before deleting the account, save you photo stream photos to your camera roll (tap Edit, tap all the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll).

How to show an image(jpg/gif) on a JTabbedPanel

I tried to show an image on a JPanel of a JTabbedPanel.
I the only way to show it for some time was this:
in the StateChangedListener I use drawImage when the selected panel is teh one I want to draw the image at.
Tracing code makes the panel show, burt when I step
all the way up, the panel will be repainted without my image.
I use mediatracker to get the image loaded.
Any Idea

JTabbedPane has components as its tabs. Using a JPanel is not mandatory. Try using a JLabel instead with an Icon (use ImageIcon) in it.
