Control and monitoring of traffic lights

i am a student and new to graphical programming.i am using labview 6.1 to monitor and control a system of traffic lights from a central location.my problem is geting the lights to go on and off.

You asked the same question here and the answer is still the same. Provide some details on what exactly you're attempting to do and what specifically is the problem. That means details on what kind of hardware you're using to interface to the lights, any error codes being generated, etc. Posting your program would help as well.

  • Create Remote Control and Monitor VI

    Hi all,
I have 2 VIs. One is PC Host VI and other is cFP2200  real-time running VI.
Now I can use PC host and cFP shared variable to control and monitor in the same network.
But I have a problem that I need 2 or more cFP in the same network. How can I seprate to control themone by one?
They are using the same program but set with different IP.
Does shared variables are using fix IP and can I type the cFP2000 network IP in PC Host VI to select different cFP?
    How to do ?
    Thanks.
    Robert

    Hello Robert,
You will need to use a separate shared variable for each cFP. You can create a Case Structure in your Host VI to select which shared variable to use based on which cFP you select. I think that's the simplest option for you.
There is also a way to programmatically change the data binding for a shared variable, but this requires the DSC Module. Take a look at this article if you want to check out this option: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/2E8BAD0EA218A7558625712E0003F044?OpenDocument

See if this helps....we use the below script to monitor the interconnect traffic.
    select b1.inst_id,
    b2.value "GCS CR BLOCKS RECEIVED",
b1.value "GCS CR BLOCK RECEIVE TIME",
    ((b1.value / b2.value) * 10) "AVG CR BLOCK RECEIVE TIME (ms)"
    from gv$sysstat b1,
    gv$sysstat b2

  • How ACR works with in-camera controls and ADR (Nikon D-lighting)

After using Bridge for years, exploring more intense in-camera color and ADR controls in my D700 has revealed something I did not know and wonder if there is a solution:  Seen in the Bridge thumbnails, the photos show the effects of the in-camera settings, but when I click through to camera raw, the photos lose it, no color effects.  How can I retain the in-camera choices in Camera Raw and thus in the save files in tiff which I prefer for working files.  Thanks for answering what must be a very basic question.

The answer is actually very simple, Gary:  What you are seeing is perfectly normal, expected behavior.  It is as designed, and you cannot change that.
Those in-camera settings you reference apply exclusively to JPEG images, not to raw image captures.
What Bridge is showing you is not a rendering (conversion) of the raw image data, but rather the JPEG preview that is embedded by the camera at the time of recording the image and to which the camera does apply the camera settings.  Depending on your Bridge preference settings, a new preview will be created once you apply your changes to the file.
Adobe Camera Raw is not designed to emulate the conversion performed by the camera manufacturer's software, whether in-camera or otherwise, but to preserve the entire range of characteristics of the image and offer you absolute control over the entire rendering process as well as to give you certain canned camera profiles to automate and/or speed the process.
Camera manufacturers design their raw conversion, in-camera  and otherwise, to compress the shadows in order to hide digital chroma noise, and to provide an over-contrasty, over-saturated and over-sharpened look that appeals to the majority of consumers.  Any savvy, experienced Adobe Camera Raw user can easily emulate said camera manufacturer's software and produce an identical result to the in-camera JPEG.
If you want to "retain the in-camera choices in Camera Raw and thus in the save files in tiff which [you] prefer for working files" you can either (a) shoot straight JPEGs, or (b) come up with your own Camera Raw presets that mimic the conversion of the camera manufacturer.
Raw means raw, uncooked, unsalted and unseasoned.  The in-camera JPEG has already been cooked, salted and seasoned with pepper according to the camera manufacturer's criteria of what constitutes a good rendering of the image.  A good, experienced cook can produce a much better, finer, more sophisticated cooked, salted and seasoned with a myriad herbs image from the raw capture with Adobe Camera Raw, in accordance with the skill, intention of the artist that produced the shot.
Adobe Camera raw gives you complete control, and it allows you to mimic or reproduce whatever look you want including the above described over-contrasty, over-saturated and over-sharpened look that appeals to the majority of consumers, once you learn how to use Adobe Camera Raw to its full extent.  Here's an excellent place to start:

  • Camera control and Monitor Software

    Hi All,
    Two questions, quasi-related.
First, does anyone know of any camera control software for Sony? I have a TR27 and an HDR FX1.
Second, does anyone have any experience with monitoring software? Specifically, I am looking at the Red Lightning DV Monitor software. It would be nice to go from the camera directly to the hard drive. Also, is there any software which lets you monitor more than one camera simultaneously?
Thanks. Any input/links would be helpful and appreciated.
    --Dana

They should produce the same EXACT version of the RAW file.
The profiles are meant to give approximately the same rendering concerning tone and color. You cannot render the exact same thing as Canon uses proprietary algorithms which Lightroom cannot use. The profiles just approximate those using Lightroom's RAW engine. Also they will only come close if you use default settings in your camera, so no highlight priority, no added saturation, etc. If you want the exact same thing, shoot jpeg or convert the RAW to tiff in DPP. That said, my experience is that the camera matching profiles come very close to out-of-camera rendering as long as you don't modify the styles.
I say they HAVE to, because otherwise who is right - who´s got the true colors (e.g. Faithful style is supposed to represent colors exactly if shot at 5200K, yet DPP Faithful differs from LR faithful????)
None of Canon's styles give accurate rendering. That is not what they are meant to do. They are meant to be visually attractive, which is very different from accurate. Faithful is not really scene referred correct color. See for some measurements of that on one of the more accurate cameras, the Canon 5D mk II, here. The way to get correct color, if that is what you are interested in, is to shoot a colorchecker chart and use Adobe's free DNG profile editor to generate a calibrated profile for your camera.
Also, is there a way to convert other picture styles one has created into Lightroom profiles perhaps through some use of DNG Profile Editor?
No. Would be neat, but is not currently possible without a lot of manual labor. You can shoot a colorchecker and by comparing the rendering in DNG profile editor to that in DPP visually and using the patch tools, you might be able to sort of get there but that is going to be very tedious. It would be nice if we were able to give DNG Profile Editor a different target than perfect rendering of the colorchecker, because right now, the only way to do it is visual.

  • PWM Actuator control and monitoring

    Hi,
I am working on a personnal project and I need to control three (or maybe 4) linear actuators (fyi, dyadic SCN6 (uncertain as of now if i'll be using SCN6-020/040 or 060, but they are pretty much the same). (Spec Sheet: http://www.miraiintertech.com/home/downloads/Dyadic1003.pdf )
I do have some LabView skills, but i do lack some electronic skills to determine how to have LabView control those actuators.
I have a LabView Vi that i want to use to send some (help me here) PWM signals to control the actuators... I might need to monitor them as well to have a better control.
So my question as of now is, what do i need to do that, what kind of PWM controller/card (I don't have a clue), and can you provide me some knowledge regarding this technology.
    Thank you very much,
    Marc

    Thanks for the reply,
After looking around, I might have to do it differently than i first expected.
I will use LabView to send position orders to the SCN6 actuators. From what i heard, I think i'll have to use some LabView compatible card with (analog) outputs, that then will then connect to somekind of servo-motor that then will be able to drive the actuators' motor according to my LabView's instructions...
PS: I said analog, because the guy i talked to said it might be better for me to send analog signals than doing PWM and sending the bit to change the direction
I really need help here, as you can see !

  • Temperature control and monitoring?

I've been tempted to start some gaming on my mac pro, from what I've read so far, OS X SL doesn't have anything to monitor the temperature of GPU, nor does it have anything like catalyst to tune up the fan speed when needed as the GPU heats up.
I read about smcFanControl, does it work on a mac pro 5.1 running 64 bit kernel? If i decided to do some 3D gaming for games like COD or WoW, what sort of fan speed would I need to make sure that the GPU doesn't get fried?
If I were to game on boot camp windows 7, which drivers should I install beside the default bootcamp driver that comes with the SL installation DVD? I noticed there is a catalyst driver package specifically for mac boot camp, am I limited to this driver package or can I install the latest ATI catalyst driver package that are normally available for windows?
Anyone have any experience with gaming on a mac pro 5.1 with dual ati 5770 video card? Any tips would be great.
    Appreciate for your help.

smcFanControl will run on a 5,1.
There's the free iStat Pro widget which give limited temperature info.
There the shareware iStat Menus which does give info (temps, sppeds, voltage, amps, power) for just about anything it can get at.  One piece of info is the PCIe slot temp for the slot the video card is plugged into.  It also has some fan speed controls as well.

This fan i have installed is running fine but i thk it runs full speed all the time and that makes a lot of noise - not needed.
    Thx for any advice/tip/hint

40 °C is fine. The minimum fan speed can be set is a % of the full capacity.
Start with 12.5% and if the fan needs to adjusts it's fan speed too often and it get's annoying you can raise it to 25% or more.

If you are using EXCP_FNAME in the ALV layout to display your traffic lights, it may not be possible to move your light field to any other position..
One possiblity is to define your own field (as icon) in the internal table and assign the Traffic light icon to that field... By this approach, you can position that field in any place in your input structure while generating field catalog or defining your structure
Here is an example with SALV,

Example with icons in REUSE FM (can be used in ALV OO) and there should be umpteen examples in SDN also

  • Control to monitor serial bus traffic

Just started getting my hands dirty with an eval of Veristand.  My tinkering is going well, but I have noticed a potential problem for when I start developing my own stuff for my program.  Hopefully, some one can point me in the right direction.
If I'm understanding things correctly, data is passed between target and host in scalar DBL form.  If the user changes a Boolean to TRUE, then the host transmits a 1.0000 to the target, etc.  I will need to be implementing a set of unique proprietary CAN and Ethernet protocols in a Custom Device.  For items such as "Engine Speed" or "Switch State" this won't be a problem.  However, this protocol includes the ability to transmit multiple fault codes, with their timestamp, and count.  Also, the customer usually wants to monitor bus traffic as well.
I don't see how I can transfer cluster (or array of cluster) data to the target for transmission, or variable-length message data back to the host for display.  Has anyone tackled this issue yet?  Any elegant ways of doing this other than defining channels for each and every possible byte of data that could be received?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Dan,
Shared variables will work, you just have to manage the deployment from a LabVIEW project, then you can monitor with Distributed Systems Manager. You can write to them using a Custom Device and using the Shared Variable palette or creating the RT target in the Custom Device project and working with them there.
Another possibility is to use an Engine Component:  You can configure Engine Components in the Environment Settings dialog for a rig file. An Engine Component is launched automatically whenever we connect to the RT Target. It does not need to be invoked from the Tools menu.
An Engine Component does not have to have a special connector pane or anything. It can be any VI. The only special functionality it has is the ability to provide some synchronization options when running the workspace. The Workspace can be configured to have the following sychronization options with Engine Components:
None: Start up the Engine Component but don't wait for it to do anything
Wait Sync: Wait for the Engine Component to fire a boolean notifier before continuing and opening the Workspace. This Boolean notifier reference must come from a Front Panel control called Engine Sync.
Wait Complete: Wait for the Engine Component VI to complete its execution before continuing and opening the Workspace.
We do ship a template Engine Component with VS2009. It is located at: <vi.lib>\NI VeriStand\Engine Component..

  • Traffic light in RF monitor screen (LRF1) - how it is derive from?

    Hi,
This is a question about WM-RF. My question is how does the system determine the traffic light color in the RF monitor screen (LRF1). I read the SAP help portal and compare it to the screen and it still doesn't make any sense out of it..
On the SPRO, there is DEFINE QUEUE table, with thefollowing setup:
    WS--QUEUEQName-CapacUsed-CapacUsed----AccessLim
    110--B01_GEN-GenName610--
    2StrictLimitation
    Thus the relation is: 6/10 = 0.6
Next, I went to LRF1 and saw this record with warehouse 110, and Queue B01GEN, and having the following value_:
    QUEUE -
    TOs--LOADProc.By--
    Propotion
    B01_GEN----150.0002--
    Green
    Thus the relation is: 15/2 = 7.5
Why is it green? SAP help portal give the following explaination, and I don't know to derive it?
A- The queue tranffic light is green if the relation is less than the value given in the left relation field.
B - The queue traffic light is yellow if the relation is greater than or the same as the value specified in the right field.
C - The queue traffic light is red if the relation is greater than or the same as the value specified in the left relation field.
    Please share if you know.
