Control center difficult to access

I am having a great deal of trouble accessing the new control center by swiping up from the bottom of the screen on any screen including lock screen. I have verified that in settings - control center, I have access on lock screen & access within apps enabled. I am concerned it is my Griffin Survivor case. I would hate to abandon the case, because it has been a life saver.

I hate to say it, but the case is what's causing most of your trouble.  On my Snugg case, if  I pry down the bottom edge of it so I can access the black portion of the screen that is hidden behind it, swiping up if you start in the black area works every time.  Hard cases won't let you do this.  It still ***** though, because the lip on the case is starting to droop away from the screen.
Appears that someone fell asleep at the design wheel and forgot to leave the "up arrow" in a place that is visible as well accessible.  Pretty hard to believe that something so basic yet so important slipped thru the cracks.
Let's see how quickly they fix it.

  • Why is the control center difficult to access?

When I try to flip up on the home screen to access the Control Center it takes multiple attempts.
Accessing the Notification Center by flicking from the top screen down is no issue. Yes I do have a protective cover on my phone but still seems like the ability to access would be consistent from the top or bottom of the controls. Is there a fix?

I have a similar situation with my 4S and an Otterbox Defender
case.  It is taking some time to get the right "touch" but am
getting better at it.  Hopefully (I have sent feedback on ths issue),
they will widen the target area just a tad to make Control Center
access a little easier with a case.

  • Add location services in the control center

To save power I go into Settings and turn on/off the all the Location Services.  Is there any plans to add location services in the control center for quicker access?  Or is there something already in place?

There is nothing in place. How is turning off location services saving you power? It doesn't use any unless you are using it. However, if you feel strong about it, you can make a suggestion to Apple feedback HERE and click on the appropriate link.

  • Control Center customizable button

For the next generation of IPads Software, could you consider adding a customizable button on the Control Center for quick access to a function that the user chooses? In this way, the user could decide on what this button would do.
(Ex: I would configure a button for quick access to "Invert Colors" from the setting/general/accessibility page).
We quite often use IPads at night in Aircraft cockpits and this function would allow for a quick shifting to a “Night Mode” type display by greatly reducing the display brightness.

    Thanks.
Actually, after talking to a user, I found out that a this feature is available through the triple click function of the home button, as long as the Accessibility
    Shortcut has been configured accordingly.

  • TIP:  How to easily access Control Center in IOS7

I tried hundreds of times to access the Control Center by "swiping up" from any screen to no avail.  Then, I figured out the trick:  Start your swipe from the Home button and not the screen itself.  Works everytime.  (Also, try swiping down from the speaker to reach the Notification Center).

Just found the apex_access_control table in my schema.
    Guess I'll just use that.

  • Cannot toggle "Access on Lock Screen" in Control Center Settings

I noticed the other day that the Control Center was disabled from accessing it from the lock screen.  I went into Settings-->Control Center to turn it back on and I discovered that the "Access on Lock Screen" option is grayed-out or locked such that I cannot switch it on/off.  I have no idea how this happened and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to "unlock" this option so I can view the Control Center from the lock screen.  Help?

Do you think something changed with my company's security settings that disabled this option?Yes. I would consult the IT dept. at your company.

Did you check Settings>Control Center>Access on Lock Screen and make sure it's set to ON?

  • Failure to access control center in lock screen

I am having trouble accessing controls center from my lock screen. It takes me four may be five times to do so. It seams that I really need to try to do such a simply task when I do it on the home screen. Just wondering if I can fix this or if I have to wait for a update from Apple. Thanks in advance for your help.

Do you have a case on your phone? Many people are reporting that some cases interfer. Otterbox Defenders seem to be named a lot.
    Best of luck.

  • Cannot access control center when I swipe up checked settings both are on for screen

Since upgrade to iOS 7, I have no access to control center. Any one else with issue?

Always tried from horizontal position. Tried from vertical position and it came up. Guess it only works vertically

  • Can not access control center on iPhone 5

I can not access the control center by swiping up. It doesn't matter which screen I'm on. It is turned on in the settings to be accessed in apps and the lock screen.

Do you have a case on the phone? If so, what case? If you do, then try removing the case and see if it works.
If not, then try a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone should reboot. After that, try again.

  • Can not access control center-more than one way to turn off and on portait rotate?

The very bottom of my screen does not register touch for some unknown reason ( I have a 4s and iOS 7.1)—however I've been dealing with that by rotating my phone to pull up the keyboard to type for text messages, etc. I accidently locked my ability to rotate my phone and now I can't pull up the control center to turn it off. Is there another way to access this function?

Thank you for the quick response. Unfortunately, in the AssistiveTouch there is still no way to turn off the locked position of my screen, so when I click the different rotate options provided, the screen does not change orientation... any thoughts?

  • Can't access control center on iPhone while keyboard is displayed

Anybody have a tip on how to access control center on iPhone while the keyboard is displayed?  Seems impossible cause when I swipe up from the bottom to access control center, it types instead.

    UPDATE
Saw other threads about Otterbox blocking the area to access the Control center. Sure enough removing it from the case and I can access the CC. But, I also found if you swipe up lightly and quickly the CC can be access with the case on. It takes some practice. But can be done.

  • HT4623 Why can't I access the Control Center in iOS 7?

Swiping up does not bring up the Control Center. Also, the phone is locked in the vertical position. How can I get back the functionality of having it change orientations?
    c

Do you have a case on your phone? You have to swipe up from the very bottom edge of screen, and some cases are a tad too large to enable you to do that. Try taking off the case to see if you can swipe up.
Once you get there, you may see that the Orientation lock is highlighted, which means it is locked. Tap it to allow you to swith between portrait and landscape.
    Cheers,
