We have created a Zoutput device in which we r giving driver program and form name.when i try to issue the output using vf03 i m geeting the error as control form is invalid start form is missing TD 443.

Hi Siddesh,
Check the control_form in the driver program.Parameter which your passing for the output options is wrong check with it.

I have understood some usefull information and would like to share with you.
Within one transaction, you can open and close several layout sets using OPEN_FORM and
CLOSE_FORM, however not simultaneously. You can use parameters in the OPEN_FORM to control
whether the output is stored in the same print request. But also the SAP spool decides,
depending on several plausibility checks, whether new output is appended to an existing
print request or whether to create a new print request anyway.

To start a layout set again, you must first end the current layout set and then open the
layout set again. Within one print request, first call the function module END_FORM. It
executes the final processing for the current layout set. Then start the layout set again
using START_FORM. Output then begins again on the start page of the desired layout set.

Error in starting form server on Redhat 7.1

Hi,
i have installed oracle9iAS 1.0.2.0.0 on redhat 7.1 successfully
with out any error but when I start forms server it gives error
like: failed to exec runform f60webm [error:2]
WHen I look in make.log file it shows errorr like
gcc: /usr/xllR6/lib/libXm.so :no such file or directory
make: *** [rwrun60] error 1
this error are at various places in make.log file
when I look for libXm.so in that directory it was not there.
can I download this file from some where???
pls give any solution for it as I'm unable to run my forms
through web

I think that this is an x-windows library that you are missing.
You need to get and install the x-windows rpm and that will have
the file. Have a look for the file name using google and I'm
sure you'll find the name of the package.

Hyper Smartview - invalid free form grid

Hi,
Currently in the process of upgrading laptops and will be using 64bit but recieveing this error when hitting the refresh - invalid free form grid followed by all cells with #NAME?
These work sheets work perfect fine on the 32bit machines we already have but we can't push out the new 64bit ones until we fix this hyperion issue, any ideas?

Some things to look at:
What is the exact formula in the cell? Does it happen to start with C:\Oracle\SmartView...?
Does it work if you go to Smart View > Sheet Info > Delete > Delete Worksheet Metadata, then refresh?
Does it work if you go to Smart View > Functions > Fix Links, then refresh?
What happens when you open a new/blank workbook and create an HsGetValue formula?
Does it work if you build the formula using the Function Builder?
I think there are separate Smart View .exe install files for 64bit vs 32bit. Did you use the latest (.301 I think) 64bit file?
Did the add-in fully install? Is there a COM and EXE component enabled? Was it installed by and admin on the pc? Did the dll register?
The formulas aren't working, but what about an ad-hoc grid? Can you start with a new/blank workbook, connect, and do ad-hoc analysis? If not, what is the error?

To go along with Michael's suggestion, something like AA9.2 is needed for X64 systems I think. Also, be careful. Acrobat is not licensed for use on a server. Using it as a user is fine, but not as a server application. Read the license carefully.

what does the database have to do with starting Forms and Reports ? If you are on Wondows2000 then navigate to the \bin directory if the Oracle Home you installed Oracle9iDS to. Type ifbld90 for Forms and rwbuilder for Reports design environment.
If your ability to start Forms and Reports from the command line is your only exit criteria in evaluating software for a project , how far will you go with it?

Unable to start Forms designer in Linux O/s

I have installed Forms6i for linux on my linux workstation. I am able to connect to my database but unable to start forms designer. Its giving me this error
FRM-91111 : Internal error. Windows system startup failure.
FRM-10039 : Unable to start forms builder.
Can anybody help me with this problem. Its very urgent

I am having the exact same problem. I have downloaded Forms6i for Linux from OTN. I have been able to load it and updgrade some 4.5 forms using f60gen, but I have not been able to get the designer to work. I get the same message FRM-91111. ANy information would be greatly appreciated.

Problem starting forms & debugger

Environment: 9iDS Rel 2 on a Win2000 laptop with Oracle 9i R2 installed in a separate Oracle Home.
Problem: When I start a form from Form Builder, it passes a URL like
http://%%20"http://myserver...."
including the double-quotes. In order to run the form, I must remove the trailing double-quote and all characters up to and including the first double-quote. In addition to being very inconvenient, this prevents me from using the debugger since the form doesn't start automatcially and then get attached to Form Builder.
The problem started happening when I had to rebuild my entire laptop some time ago. I installed Oracle9i R2 first and decided to make its native language UTF-16 for some other tasks I was performing. When I then installed 9iDS R2, it started passing this URL. I have since removed all Oracle products and re-installed everything as American_America. But somehow Forms is still compensating for Unicode - maybe in the registry somewhere? I've searched, but can't find it.
Any ideas? I'm very reluctant to format the hard disk and reinstall Windows to solve it!

I don't know anything about Unicode/UTF-16, but did you check Edit -> Preferences -> Runtime -> Application Server URL? Any junk in there?
We have 10g here; not sure if 9i is the same...

and comes with tge nt3.51 resource pack which can be used
with nt4.0. I have used it and it works fine.

Hi.
Recently i have migrated an application from scratch onto same datasource where application earlier was hosting on. i have deleted the application and making use of same datasource i have created the application again and migrated the artefacts and imported,refreshed and loaded the data into essbase db, once after the migration am not able to open some data forms and after the essbase restart i am able to some and others are still giving the same error message as earlier "The data form is invalid Please check log for details.".
Could anyone help on this. have gone through different otn answers but unable to reach at point.

The latest patch is :- 7229787 — You cannot open a Planning data form in Smart View, if in Planning preferences, the property for Indentation of Members on Page Display is set to Indent based on hierarchy.
I believe John was referring to this bug which was resolved in patch 9.3.1.1.6 :-

Unable to start form listener on linux

Hi,
i have just installed 9iAS with oracle 8.1.6 on same redhat7.1
m/c
when I'm unable to start the form server, a listener error occur
error is like this............
$ forms60_server start

This is a common problem, if you have gcj (the GNU GCC java clone) in your path. My two suggestions are:
1. Deinstall GCJ or
2. Put the JDK bin directory in your PATH variable in front of everything

I am just started learning workflow. Please tell me how to create a Start Forms.
I am create my first workflow and create a ABAP dictionary structure to hold the fields. Put the dictionary structure in a workflow container element. But when I try to create start forms in Basic Data i get a message saying "The container does not contain a suitable element for the form data".

Have you created the Workflow container with structure? Please try with any standard structure like ekpo.
Or if you trying with any Custom structure, then make sure that the structure is active.
If everything fine, but still not working then, in the workflow container tick the check box of import and export in Properties Tab.

Change to display field on control block not reflected until form refreshed

Hi guys, hope someone out there can help me with this query.
I'm currently developing a form that will allow users to generate offer letters and contracts via a custom form which is used within Apps 11i. This form is a fairly standard multi-text field form with tickboxes which hold the applicant details, two buttons (one to Select All, the other to Clear All) and another button to produce the actual contracts selected.
There is also a display field which is part of the control block attached to the form; both it and the Produce Contracts button are part of this control block. I've added a bit of code to change the text in the display field to inform the user that the contract or contracts they've requested are being generated, but although the call to the relevant code to do this appears before kicking off the concurrent request to generate the contracts, the update to the field fails to appear until after the concurrent request is complete and its output appears on another screen.
Does anyone know why this is? I've racked my brains over it and can't seem to understand why. I've pasted the code in below if anyone has any ideas!

I had a similar problem, but it was with the message line. I found that with Web Forms, I had to issue the Synchronize; a second time, but in Client/Server Forms 6i, the first synchronize worked. Here is the code I used:

Can't find button to start "form fill" feature. 
You hid it very well.

I have an attachment. I tap on it, which should open it. THen in the upper right corner you'll see the box with the arrow, tap on that, options will come up to 'open in'....and they'll vary depending on what apps you have installed. Open it in whatever app is appropriate, then you should be able to use that app to fill it in and then remail it from within that app (you can't go into e-mail and attach a document, you have to start from within the document and send it to the e-mail to be attached)
