Control handles do not remain showing

I have show handles for multiple selected anchor points turned on, and all of the handles are showing, but as soon as I drag out a guideline the handles disappear. I was watching a tutorial video where the handles remained showing as the guidelines were dragged and snapped to points. Is this a difference between Windows and Mac versions of Illustrator?

Lock guides in the View menu. Guides are objects, so remain selected after they are created unless locked.

"hidden controls" dots are not showing

The three dots that make the hidden controls available are not visible. Any ideas how to get them to show?
I want to view a movie one frame at a time.
According to the Help file:
Some of the controls available on the Controller are normally hidden. This includes buttons for playing the movie in slow motion, stepping through the movie, showing subtitles, choosing an audio track, and choosing an alternate video track.
To see the hidden controls, click the three dots on the Controller.

It was motek's mention of "subtitles" and "choosing audio tracks" that were the clues.
That, and I remember the three little dots on previous versions of the DVD Player controller.

SQLOD32W do not release its control handler.

Hello,
I have a windows service, this windows service use MAXDB database and release the environment. When I shutdown the computer I have a GPF.
The address is <SQLOD32W BASE ADDRESS> + 0x86510.
I think this is a ControlHandler installed by SQLOD32W. This handler is not release when DLL_PROCESS_DETACH is called.
I can workaround the issue by installing my own ControlHandler, but do you know this is a known bug ?

there are some restrictions with the ODBC driver including 7.6, which probably will not be changed in the future.
Starting with SAP MaxDB 7.7 a new ODBC driver is available which was completely new written (basing on SQLDBC, our main low level interface). At the momen 7.7 is not available as download edition, but I can provide you with the [new ODBC driver|https://sapmats-de.sap-ag.de/download/download.cgi?id=NFPSS6QZGWYKYJIYNFOTBO71ED9H0RWZG1OM4VUVOSOOO8E9ES].
Please use it as evaluation copy of the current MaxDB ODBC driver. If there are problems, please let me know.
The archive contains the ASCII and Unicode version and the trace tool of the new driver. For registration please use the odbcreg-tool of 7.6

CS6 Lighting Effects-Missing Control Handles / Crashing

I have read several other threads on this issue where the control overlays are missing when you go to Filter>Render>Lighting Effects. The "answer" from Adobe always seems to be, "updated your video card drivers."
I have a ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 560v for my Dell laptop running Windows 7 64bit. I have checked both through Dell and the ATI page and I have the latest drivers but Lighting Effects don't work properly. So now what?
I tried messing with the Preferences for Performance based on other posts. No luck. When I go to View>Extras>Show All I do then see the controls, however, the program freezes then crashes every time.
So is there a fix for this or do I have to go back to CS4 to do all my lighting effects?

99% SOLVED! I think the problem here is that Photoshop users don't know the tech speak surrounding driver technology.
For instance when you started talking about AMD I was thinking, "I have an ATI driver, who is AMD?"
Also, quite frankly the AMD/ATI site is a very poor unser experience. I searched for my Dell Studio 1747 Laptop driver (ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 560v) several times and it found no drivers to update even though there is a whole page dedicated to that processor.
I never did find what you called a "driver cleaner" on the AMD site, however I stumbled (yes, stumbled after looking at tons of pages on AMD) on this AMD Driver Autodetect. I installed that and it recommended I replace my driver with AtI Mobility Radeon HD 4650. The process went smooth other than everything on my screen getting tiny for a bit. After the forced restart everything looked right.
I opened a Photoshop doc and tried Filter>Lighting Effects and still NO CONTROLS / HANDLES, however this time when I went to View>Extras>View All the handles showed like before BUT PHOTOSHOP NO LONGER CRASHES. I can now manipulate those controls/handles and use lighting effects.
I know this is not all of Adobe responsiblity, but I'm writing this post hoping anyone wlse who is frustrated will taked your advice, go to the AMD Driver Autodetect link and get it sorted out.

How to manually enter delta/angle for control handles?

I have a smooth point of a path with two control handles. When I use the white arrow to select a handle, the Info panel shows the X, Y position of the point as well as the D (delta) and angle of the control handle relative to that point. I can move the handle around with my mouse pointer, but if I have two independent handles, I may want to manually enter the delta and angle. This would allow me to work more quickly. Is this possible?

I would think that a repetitive need to numerically position anchorPoint handles would not be in the same location. Actions are just dumb recordings of steps. They have no way of, for example, drawing lines of a given length/angle at the locations of multiple selected anchorPoints. That kind of functionality would be germane to scripting, not Actions (macros). And a script dedicated to this purpose would not have to draw temporary lines.
If the intent is to effectively "copy" handles from one anchorPoint and "paste" them to multiple others, I already have a pair of scripts for that. But that doesn't sound like what is being described.

I have recently purchased a Mac computer (updated to Maverick) to go with my Epson Stylus Photo RX500 printer which has given excellent service with my old Windows computer. However, when trying to print pictures or photos via Photoshop Elements 11, the best results I can get are using the Colour Management and Epson Colour controls in the printing options box.
My problem is that after printing the first photo or picture, when I come to print a second, both the Colour Management and Epson Colour Controls are greyed out and showing No Colour Management, The only way I can reset the controls is to shut down the printer and computer and restart.
Could there may be a setting somewhere that I need to adjust please? I have been in touch with Epson and they say that the Epson Colour controls are part of the Photoshop Elements software but a post on the Adobe forum brought no results and I am unable to contact Adobe.

Hello Garry. Thanks for the reply. I guess I should have used a different title from "How do I post a question?" That should come after trying to resolved the colour settings first. However, to answer your question, after experimenting with all the different settings in Photoshop Elements and Epson software, I now start with PSE11 Colour settings then click "no colour management" then after clicking Print, I choose "More Options/Colour Management/Colour Handling/Printer Manages Colour" then I choose "Page Setup/Layout/Colour Matching" which then shows Epson Colour Controls but I also choose "Layout/Colour Management" which then shows "Colour Controls/Mode" I then of course choose an Epson printer profile depending on the paper I am using. I get good results but as I said, the Colour Matching and Colour Controls are then greyed out. Hope that makes sense.

Any thoughts on how to fix this? Seen a few references to a "site reset" for SCCM 2007 but wanted to make sure there wasn't anything else to try before heading down that road with 2012R2.

A site reset can also be done in CM12 so it's worth a try.

Icloud control panel does not install properly but only when trying to sync with Outlook 2010. If I try to sync photos, etc. it works just fine

Downloaded icloud control panel to Win 7. Everything seems ok until you "apply" synching at the icloud control panel. Then you get an error message that says "icloud control panel did not install properly". Repairing in Windows control panel as suggested does not help. If you do not try to sync Outlook data (2010) then it seems to work just fine.

I was able to finally stop ITunes from crashing after many days of searching n restarting my computer many times.
a) First I went to this site ->http://forums.techarena.in/guides-tutorials/1119812.htm that showed me how to disable DPE. Please make sure that u have good virus...etc.. protection first before doing this. I have Avast Internet Security. RESTART UR COMPUTER..
b) I then uninstall ITunes by following this site ->http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923 RESTART UR COMPUTER..
c) I then downloaded a beta version of ITunes. I happen to download beta 7 before the final of 10.5 version came out. Installed it. After installing I click on it n it said somewhere along the line of "this ITune ver. expired" I checked in my Programs n Features n notice that QuickTime was installed w that beta version.
d) Go online n download the final version of ITunes ->http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ ...... After u finish dling install that. After that's done connect your IPod, IPhone...etc... n click on ITunes, it should sync all the way.
I was finally able to sync all thru the steps insteading of it crashing on me midway. Hopefully this will work for you. Good luck !

I had a similar problem with a Canon MP800R under Mac OS X 10.9.2 Mavericks.
In my case, the MP Navigator app in the dock was linking to the wrong file.
It linked to Applications > MP Navigator 2.1.app > Contents > Resources > MP Navigator.app, but it should link to the "main" app, probably under Applications > MP Navigator 2.1.app.
After pulling the correct MP Navigator app file to the dock, I can start MP Navigator again by clicking on it in the dock. However, when clicking on it, a second MP Navigator icon will show up in the dock and stay there until the app is closed. By the way, the MP800R scanner also works (although officially not supported by Canon).

The control panel will NOT let me activate either CONTACTS or Calendar as it just says I do not have a default profile setup, which I do have. I have checked it over and over again but it still refuses to let me use these features. I am using Office 2010

Control center will not work in apps since 8.2 .Works on the lock screen and on my iPad.

As I have already said above, the control center will not deploy in apps on my iPhone 6 since 8.2 It is turned on ,works on the lock screen and on my iPad. Any suggestions?

Check the Settings app to make sure the correct Setting is there to allow showing the Control Center in apps.
Settings > Control Center > Access Within Apps > ON

Officejet J3680 Control Panel does not respond to buttons, just make "beep sound"

Hi everybody, thanks for reading.
The problem is that my (brand new) J3680 control panel does not work until I press all the buttons, yes its weird.
Note #1: The printer works perfect when used through the computer (I am Linux user).
Note #2: Once I have pressed all the buttons at control panel the control panel (kind of) works.
Heres how this happens:
I plug the power cord
Now, the printers start and not even the Power button works, so I cant turn it off, each time I press any button it just do a “beep sound” and the LCD screen keeps the same
The LCD shows this:
0 Speed Dial
<One-Touch 1>
Now I have figured out what the LCD screen initialization means:
0: Thats the times I have pressed the “Speed Dial” button
Speed Dial: Thats the button I have to press to make the Control Panel works
<One-Touch 1>: This is the next button I have to press after the “Speed Dial” has been pressed
The printer then makes me press all the buttons (...)
I think this is kind of some “Control Panel button calibration", because the LCD respond perfect when I press the button the printer ask
The other problem is that I don't know how to finish this calibration or whatever this is, because I reach a point where I cant find the button it ask
The LCD ends showing:
1 Color Start
<Hidden 1+Black>
Where “1 Color Start” was the last button it asked me to press, and the <Hidden 1+Black> is the next one combination.
Note that “Hidden 1” is not “1” not “Speed Dial 1”, I have just tried that combinations, but does not work.
Please help I have to do this each time I turn on the printer to make the control panel work. Thanks a lot.

let me tell u whole scenario for how i reach to this error - ORA-01103: database name 'ORDB' in control file is not 'ORCL'
-installed new 11g ( test/ practice environment )
-by default database created 'ORCL' while installation
-created another instance 'ORDB' ( my aim was to create auxiliary database/duplicate database )
-done well according to oracle documents and SUCESSFULLY created a duplicated database
-i thot of sycnronization to auxiliary to target db , so i read docs and learn that you can issue
DUPLICATE TARGET DATABASE TO dupdb ( its an oracle Doc's exmple so i put my db name and path accordingly )
SKIP TABLESPACE tools
LOGFILE
GROUP 1 ('/duplogs/redo01a.log',
'/duplogs/redo01b.log') SIZE 200K REUSE,
GROUP 2 ('/duplogs/redo02a.log',
'/duplogs/redo02b.log') SIZE 200K REUSE;NOW, process was Failed , above command didn work bcos of some syntax error .
BUT what happned is - now whenever i connect both target and auxiliary database from RMAN it shows this -

I have installed Grid Control on the same machine where my database running. I followed all the steps and its successful. After all, my grid control url is not loading..

HariFrom what machine are you trying to run your browser?
localhost always means the local machine. It is not routed to some other server.
