Control Inspection Lot option-QM view

Hi all,
We want the system to create only one inspection lot for partial goods reciept from a production order.As an option i have selected "for each material,batch and storage locaion"option in QM view.Material is batch managed and serial number processed.But still the system creates new inspection lot .Does anyone have a clue.The first inspection lot was only result recorded w/o UD status INSP ...i read that if first inspection lot is credited or already the posting qty is zero then the system will creat new insp lot every time we do GR but here thats not the case as there is still qty to be posted and only RR is done.Pls help .Thanks

In normal case system will not create inspection lot..
but you are activating Serial no, means 100% inspection,(and your MIC single RR )
that is the reason system is creating new inspection lot for each GR
I don't have real time exp. but i can share some views...
if your prod.order 100pc and first gr 25pc -- then inspection lot has these 25pc with S.no
in next GR 25pc- how your existing inspection lot will update with new S.No ?
that's why system create new inspection lot but incase without s.no and 100%inspection
system will check whether inspection lot is created or not and open or completed-- based on that create new lot .
let us wait for some experts view...

this is regarding the setting for control inspection in QM view of material master.
can anyone give me a prictical example of
1. 'X' An inspection lot for each purchase order item/order item
2. '1' An inspection lot for each material document and material
3. '2' An inspection lot for each material and batch
If my requirement is to create one inspection lot out of several batches made from a production order( eg, 10 batches are created, only 1st one needed for RR and UD), which one should I use?

Hi,
the concept of batch comes when there are some property changes (property in terms of business, that may be quality or something else). if you are confirming production order partially, it means there is something that changes with batches. that's why std sap does not allow to create single lot though all those batches have been created from same production order.
and henceforth, your requirement cannot be fulfilled by any config. you can try for development.

Customer inf record control inspection lot creation

Hi all,
There is this section in SAP that said:
Using customer Info record for a customer/material combination, you can specify whether or not an inspection lot is created before the goods are shipped or after the goods are shipped
The u201Cbefore the goods are shippedu201D u2026 does it means an inspection lot is created AFTER a Delivery Order is created in SD component and BEFORE a Goods Issue?
Likewise, the u201Cafter the goods are shippedu201D, does it means an inspection lot is created AFTER a Delivery Order AND Goods Issue have taken place?

Using Customer info record you can do delivery inspeciton at any one of the 3 stages
1) Before delivery - Delivery inspection has to be completed for doing the PGI of the delivery document. In this inspection lot is created when Delivery document is saved. PGI is not allowed before the clearance of the lot
2) After delivery - This is after PGI is taken place then the inspection lot is created
3) at customer site - this is when the material reaches the customer
Option 1 has a better control on the system than the option 2 & 3

Control Inspection Lot Generation

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement where I need to use Inspection Type 04 in 2 ways.
1) For FERT material types inspection lot should be generated automatically.
2) For HALB material types inspection lot should not be generated. The client will generate the inspection lot manually if he finds any problem with the lot.
A step by step guide to configure this in SAP System would be highly appreciated.

I think you will have to use the user QPL10001 exit to suppress the HALB inspeciton lots. The coding shouldn't be hard as long as this iis consistent across the business. You'd simply suppress the lot for all HALB material types that are not manually created. (QALS-QSTAT01 is the field to detrermine if the lot was manually created or not). But as soon as one HALB anywhere in the business requires automatic inspection lots your user exit would get in the way.
So if you go this route, you might also want to create a new material type, something like "ZALB" that would allow automatic inspections. Another option is to use a special field like the cross-plant material status field if you aten't using it. Set up one code for inspection, and one for no inspections. Code the user exit accordingly.
Another option, which I don't know if you have considered, is to allow the automatic creation of your HALB 04 inspection lots. Just create them all as skip lots with posting directly to unrestricted inventory. That way, if a problem arises, you can go into the created inspection lot and use it, or if it has been processed already by the auto UD for skip lots, you can create a new 04 lot manuallly. This would require no development and is all standard SAP.

With my old Explorer XP, I regularly cleared the long list of cookies/history by going to "control panel" - "internet options" - "settings:" - "view files". Now I do not see any cookies or web history .. How do I see that now ?????

Those are the steps I would take using the old internet explorer. I do not see any browsing history, web threads, or cookies with the Foxfire. Were is that information and or can I see it some where, somehow. ??

Inspection Lot Creation after GR

Dear PP/QM Masters,
I have question regarding inspection lot creation after goods receipt.
There will be GR once at the end of the shift with batch number. As batch generated during shift will be different, there will be multiple GR entry. But for every material only one result recording per shift is required and not for all batches generated. So, how to avoid creation of so many inspection lot? Automatic Inspection lot creation is required hence no question of manual creation of inspection lot.
I checked function module QAPP_CUST_IP_CREATE for inspection point functionality but its description You can use the available function module to generate inspection points for the inspection during production already when the inspection lot is created. Can I use function module QAPP_CUST_IP_CREATE for restricting creation of inspection lot after GR?
Request all Masters to help me in solving this.

First of all thanks a lot for your response.
I checked Control Inspection Lot setting but even that can not solve my problem as in our case though GR with confirmation will be once in a shift (though in system shift is not defined) but batches will be different and hence material document will be separate. And requirement is to have single inspection lot per shift even if batches and material documents are separate.
One option is to have multiple line items for GR in MB31 or MIGO or in COR6N. But all this transaction allows only one line item for GR against process order. So, can you suggest any function module or option to have multiple line items for GR.

INSPECTION LOT-TO AVOID LOT CREATION DURING OF ORDER

We have created an order for 10 MT,did confirmation for 2 MT,a Q.M lot was created.Now for the rest of 8 Qty we donot want to create Q.M lot while doing confirmation as the result for the rest of the is same.
We have maintained the follow settings Inspection Type-04 and In Detailed information on inspectionTpye:Control Inspection lot:2 each material,batch,storage location

Hi Amit,
when we uses inspection type 04
It creates inspection lot at the time of goods reciept.
so when ever u r doing goods receipt against that material system will create one lot.
there is not any option to control lot in this way by using inp. type 04
u have to go any other option for this.
u can create manual lot for quantity 2 by maintaining insp. type 89
so by qa01 u can create inspection lot for ur quantity 02
and after UD u can go ahead for all remaining quantity.

As per our client requirement, Material should go under Quality inspection after doing GR against Pur. Order by Movement Type 103 & not after 105.

There are no other settings required for this one.Go through these once again..
1. Ensure Material master is assigned inspection type 01--Active in QM View
2. Do MIGO with 103 Mvmt.
3. Setting Rqd: SPRO->Quality Management->Quality Inspection->Inspection for Goods Movements->Deactivate Quality Inspection for a Movement Type->Remove tick QM not active for all 103 Mvmt Types.
Similarly Deactivate for 105 Mvmt type.
4. Presetting (non-editable) - SPRO->Quality Management->Quality Inspection->Inspection for Goods Movements->Deactivate Quality Inspection for a Movement Type->Movement Type/Update Control/Inspection Lot Origin->View Insp. lot origin assigned to Mvmt type by double clicking on the 103 Mvmt types.

QM_DISCONTINUED INSPECTION LOTS IN MCVA

Dear QM experts,
When we execute MCVA report one can get the information about discontinued lots. Can anybody tell from where we can get the details of discontinued inspection lots? I tried through Extras->inspection lots option in MCVA. Unfortunately it gives the list of all inspection lots and not only of discontinued lots.
I guess while recording results in QA32 if the Results Record Status of any of the MICs does not reach to 5 i.e. processing is completed, it reflects in to MCVA report under discontinued lots column. Can we have a list of such inspection lots whose processing have not been completed? Any tables?

Hi Anand,
You can get the list of inspection lots with UD but no result recording with tcode QA32 .
You have to create the selection profile for this.
- Go to SPRO - Quality management - Quality inspection - Status managemnt - Define selection profile.
- create new entry
- give some name and description
- double click on selection condition to add following condition
- in status field add RREC (that is Results confirmed)
- tick checkbox not (this is to select insp lot without result recording)
- Save
Now in QA32, use this selection profile. Select radio button Select lots with usage decision .
Thus you will get what you need.
No development required

Is it possible to club the diiferent deliveris in to one inspection lot.
For example, presently system creates 1 inspection lot per delivery.
If user wants next delivery also linked to previous lot and no need of getting a new lot for the current delivery.
Is it possible.

Hi Siva,
You can use the Control Inspection lot field within the inspection lot default values to determine when the system must create the inspection lot. Eg for each material document or each purchase order etc
Quality Management -> Quality Inspection -> Inspection lot creation -> Define default values for Inspection Type

BAPI for Inspection lots

Hi,
I'm executing the following steps in development:
Goods Receipt
(Transfer Order Creation)
Transfer Posting
(Transfer Order Creation)
The goal is to receive the goods in an "external" Storage Location and then repost it in an "internal" Location. The TOs are automatically generated per Customizing of the Movement Types.
I'm using the BAPI BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE.
In case of automatical Inspection Lots (Material master, view Quality management) the Express document lands in my Wokplace Inbox with the following error message:
Error during creation of transfer orders for material document 5000002931
Date: 10.03.2009
Time: 13:13:42
Transf.reqmnt CP1 8000000325
TRs relevant for inspection lots cannot be processed using this func.mod.
By pressing 'Ctrl + F6', you can directly trigger subsequent processing
Is anyone aware of the BAPI, which will work with the inspection lots?

Hi,
you should be able to create inspection lots when executing
BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE. See for example the attached note 536769 that
is about wrong status in the inspection lot created in this way.
Please review your data used for testing this BAPI.

Yes, You can use for 04 inspection ,
'X' An inspection lot for each order ,batch & storage location- An inspection lot is only created during the first goods receipt for each PO item or production order.

how can we get a inspection lot , but i do not want to create Inspection plan for the material . I want only to do UD.I do not want to create inspection plan. On the each GR i want lot and take the UD or defect recording.

Just deactivate the indicators I have listed.
Ok I will tell you to activate what indicator is required to be activated.
For Inspection Type 01
- Post to Inspection Stock - Activate
- Enter Sampling Procedure if you required any or activate 100% Sample or you can avoid all other.
- Put appropriate Control Inspection lot
- Rest all Check Boxes you should deactivate.
- Don't forget to Activate the Inspection Type. (The check box "ACTIVE"

Rescheduling of QM Inspection Lot

Dear SAP Guro,
We are dealing a scenario now, wherein for some point in time the QM inspection lot is rescheduled automatically. We noticed this when the production order was rescheduled during the weekend. Example: PO#12345 is rescheduled on a weekend, while the inspection lot for the needed material or component has a schedule falling on weekdays, this QM ILot is supposed to be rescheduled on a weekend also so that the production will be completed but this is not happening. The QM ILot is only rescheduled when the production order which will be using the material fall on a weekend. Is this a normal SAP behavior? Or, the factory calendar assigned to the plant and work center has something to do with this? As we have noticed, the plant is using N1 Factory calendar wherein weekends are non-working days, this N1 calendar is also assigned to the QM work center. The other calendar N2, wherein all days of the month are working days, is assigned to the production order work center. we tried to change the Factory calendar of the QM Work Center but still, the inspection lot is not rescheduled on a weekend.
Kindly let us know your thoughts on this. Any suggestions will be greatly apprecaited.

In config for Inspection type 04. Use - Y Early lot creation for order item in Control Inspection lot.
What will happen with this ?
An inspection lot with inspection lot origin 04 is created when a production or process order is released. You can use this inspection lot to inspect goods receipts of the finished quantities and then manage them after goods receipt posting in the inspection lot stock.
Avoid making a usage decision for this type of early inspection lot before any goods receipts have been posted
test in DEV or QAS system, before moving to PRD
