Control iTunes with microphone

I was wondering if it was possible to pick a song by voice. Thanks

"Allow iTunes control from remote speakers" Allows you to control iTunes with a _third-party remote_ connected to AirPort Express.

  • Is there a way that I can control iTunes with the iPhone without any internet connections?

First let me say that I am ready to throw this POS in the lake.  Is there a way that I can control iTunes with my iPhone without any internet connections?  On my houseboat I have a wifi router and want to connect my phone to my computer to control my music which plays from my computer through my stereo.  I can easily do it with my laptop without having to jump through any internet APPLE BS , but I dont want to have my laptop out on the deck. I just want to use the phone as a remote control.
Remote wont do it because it keeps saying Im not connected to the internet, even though is is connected to my computer.  Same problem with JumiAmp.

It should have an option to manage iTunes library without network connection, like Bluetooth or connect directly to the computer without a router or wi-fi, i live outsite of the city and i dont have the ability to control my iTunes librry from the iphone

  • Cant control itunes with music comtrol keys while im in another window

If i am in another windows while listening music via itunes a i cant sopt, pause, etc de music with my control keys unless i turn back to the ituns windows. I can do this with other multimedia programs. What should i do to solve it???

If you are using the internet, you can download Firefox and the Foxy Tunes plugin which allows you to control iTunes through your browser window. Dunno about other windows though.

  • Can't control iTunes with keyboard after 10.5 update?

    Hi everyone.
    I run Win7 Ultimate x64 and have a Microsoft Wireless Laser Keyboard 6000 v.2
The keyboard has a row of buttons along the very top to control media players; play/pause, skip between tracks, etc.
Up until I updated to iTunes 10.5, I was able to use those buttons to pause and skip between tracks in iTunes, but iTunes didn't have to be my active window - I could be, say, composing this post with iTunes playing, but minimized to the task bar, an hit a keyboard button to pause or skip forward.
I can no longer do that - I now have to actually go to the iTunes window in order to control it, or hold my mouse over iTunes in the task bar and I get a little back/forward/pause button that I can use to skip.
In any case, this is extremely annoying and I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue and if there are any workarounds.
    Thanks

    rageboy04,
For issues with third-party software (software not made by Apple in this case), that interacts with Apple software, I would recomend contacting the maker of that application.
Often with any application that controls another application, whether it is iTunes or anything else, when one is updated, the other needs to be updated as well.
    Thank you,
    Nathan C.

  • No longer able to control iTunes with my razer tarantula keyboard since i updated to v10.4

I have been using  Razer Tarantula keyboard for close to 3 years. It worked well with iTunes all the time, i am able to control stop, play, next on my keyboard's built-in keys without the need to Alt+Tab to iTunes. Since i update iTunes 10.4, these keys no longer work.
Am i the only one with this problem? Are there any solutions to it?

FYI - I just fixed the "problem"  and still havent quite figured it out other duplicating her settings then pwr off/on   bingo
Interesting to say the least.  Had everything to do with the speaker setting within System Preferences.... you tell me?  lol   Later

  • Controlling iTunes with Media Display of Logitech G15/G19 impossible

    Hi there
I own a Logitech G19 keyboard. But the Media Display won't be able to neither show nor controll things from iTunes. The display works perfectly with the Windows Media Player but doesn't even "exist" when iTunes is running.
I remember that this problem first occured after I updated iTunes. Unfortunately, I don't remember from witch version to which. At this time, I still had the G15. The change from G15 to G19 didn't make a change at the problem.
Now, the question is, why is that so? Do I have to change something in iTunes?
    What shall I do?
    Thanks..

I have the same problem on my G15 since updating to the latest version of iTunes (8.2). Previously I had full control of iTunes functions on the keyboard/LCD. Now, sometimes the buttons to pause/play/next track work, sometimes they don't. The LCD no longer displays iTunes at all, it's no longer listed as being a program in my G15 settings and I can't find anything in iTunes itself to make it come back.
So far this only applies to the WinXP Pro side of my iMac, I haven't hit up the Mac side in a while and therefore haven't updated iTunes over there.
I checked logitech updates but there are none.
So...what did apple do in this version?
    Can we get some assistance?

  • Controlling iTunes with Applescripts in Mainstage

I'm having a problem with the Applescripts that are provided in Mainstage- they all pretty much just playback the same song in the selected iTunes playlist- ie: once the selected song has been played I use the 'play next...' and it plays the one already played- am I doing something wrong??
And... The OS won't let me add a folder in my user library>app support>logic for mainstage scripts and I can't add or mod the scripts in the sys>library>app support>logic>mainstage folder. Any advice on getting a couple custom scripts to be available?

The factory scripts are installed inside /Library/Application Support/Logic/MainStage Scripts. You should not modify them or install your own there (in case Apple does an upgrade of these scripts). Install you own scripts in ~/Library/Application Support/Logic/MainStage Scripts. You have to create the folders, but it will work. Copy the scripts you want to modify in this folder and change the name. They should now appear in the browser.

  • ITunes with Audigy2ZS Prem. P

Is there any way to get the remote to work with iTunes, I've searched and cannot find any replies to the same question anyone else has posted... I mean cmon, anyone?

You can control ITunes with the program Intelliremote.
For those of you with internal X-FI or older internal Audigy dri'ves with remote controls and are sick of Creative Remotecenter. I have created a simple and powerful replacement that lets you map your remote buttons to any function you want on your windows PC. Start programs, move the mouse, enter a key combination, you name it.
It's a tiny program that sits in your tray listening for remote signals. Please check it out, I guarantee you will like it WAY better than Remotecenter. It really is what RemoteCenter SHOULD have been!

  • Controlling Itunes 10 with G15 keyboard

I am trying to find out how to control Itunes 10 with my G15 keyboard while Itunes is in the background. It used to work in previous versions but has since stopped responding unless it is in the foreground

    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3063147
there is a .dll you can download that will make it work, but after 15 mins, it stops working. Used to work fine with older versions of itunes, so it's not the windows update.

  • I am using Windows 8 with iTunes.  How do I manage iTunes with two different Windows User Accounts?

I have recently bought a laptop running Windows 8 and downloaded iTunes.  I subscribe to iTunes Match and have a large amount of purchased music and imported CDs, along with some films purchased from iTunes.
I have downloaded all of the music and the films to the laptop using iTunes Match when logged in under my User Account in Windows 8.  However, when we switch to my girlfriend's User Account, she can load up iTunes but all the music and films have the cloud symbol on them indicating that they need to be downloaded
Is is necessary to download everything to the computer twice (I can't really believe this is the answer) or are we missing something in terms of using iTunes with two different User Accounts?
    Thank you.

    Step 1
Create a new user account on your device. For Mac users, choose “System Preferences” from the Apple Menu and navigate to the “View” menu. Click on “Accounts” and select the “+” button to add a new user account to your machine. Edit the user information and grant any relevant privileges by following the on-screen prompts.
For Windows users, click on the Windows "Start" button, select “Control Panel” and choose “Add or Remove User Accounts.” A new window will open. Click “Create a New Account.” Name the account and set any relevant privileges by following the on-screen prompts.
    Step 2
Sign in to the new user account you created.
    Step 3
Open iTunes and click “Sign in.” Enter your Apple ID and password and log in.
    Step 4
Download purchases through the iTunes store. All files related to these purchases are stored under the separate user account, thus separating both iTunes accounts and their libraries on the same computer.
    Step 5
You can share music from both libraries by dragging your music library to a publicly accessible location on your computer. Click “Preferences” from the iTunes menu and deselect “Copy files to iTunes Media Library when adding to library file.” Add the shared folder to your library from the “File” menu.
    Tip
Create more than one library from the same user account by deselecting “Copy files to iTunes Media Library when adding to library file” from the “Preferences” menu. Add the files you want to iTunes by dragging and dropping or by opening from the “File” menu and sync your device to that library. Quit iTunes after the sync and reopen iTunes while holding the "Shift" key in Windows or the "Option" key on a Mac.

  • HT201272 Remote app to control iTunes no longer works

I use Remote app on all of my devices to control iTunes. I had to restore three iPods and now the Remote app cannot be installed from iTunes or the App Store. The error message says I need iOS 4.3. How do I find this software? iTunes says my iPods are up to date. The Remote App worked fine before with the existing software.

After digging around more, I was able to do what I was looking to do.  I installed iTunes on the machine downstairs, activated hom sharing.  Then used the Remote app on my phone, connected to iTunes downstairs, then went to "more" within the app... Then selected "shared", connected to the library upstaris... and Boom, its worked!

  • After upgrading to Snow Leopard - multimedia keys not controling itunes

After I upgraded to SL all the special keys( Brightness control, Volume control etc.) are working perfectly, excpet for the media controls (rewind, play\pause, forward). They used to control itunes in Leopard, but now I'm lost without them.
    I tried:
    - Upgrading to itunes 9 - didn't help.
    - Upgrading to 10.6.1 - didn't help.
    - Unchecked "Use all F1,F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" - didn't help.
    - Restored my keyboard shortcuts to default.
I should also mention that the play\pause button does not start itunes as I have read it does for other people after upgrading to SL.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Do those same keys work OK otherwise, in other apps? Have you tried the same thing with a USB keyboard?
Try resetting some of the hardware that may be involved. See this Apple KB for details, etc.:

Can't hurt to try, and apparently this has helped others recently.

  • Cannot check the box "only allowed paired or home sharing remotes to control itunes"

I cannot connect my home sharing so I go to Edit>Preferences>Devices>check box only allowed paired or home sharing remotes to control itunes> Then click OK. After that I go to see whether the box is checked or not and I found that it is not checked. I don't know how to deal with it because every time I check the box, it's unchecked so cannot check box only allowed paired or home sharing remotes to control itunes. Is this the problem that causes the home sharing problem?

Hmmm, sounds weird. If someone else has experienced this maybe they will jump in here, but if not, you can always call Nike+. Surprisingly they answer their phone quite quickly.
Anyway, here's my shot at it:
I will assume you have downloaded the Nano updater ( http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/ ).
I would eject and disconnect the Nano (perhaps restarting my computer) and close iTunes, then reopen iTunes, reconnect and see if the box is available.
Also check this page: http://www.apple.com/support/nikeplus/ also this page http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303933#faq9
