Control-M interface with BW

Hi,   I'm looking for information about using Control-M with BW.  I have a white-paper from BMS Software but it makes no reference to BW.
Thanks,
Anthony.

I am currently leading a project, which includes implementing Control-M/CM for SAP. Our project includes scheduling and monitoring dependencies between SAP R/3 and SAP BW, including process chains. From the communications within this topic, it appears that there are others that are also considering these options. If you are interested, I would welcome the opportunity to organize an initial conference call to determine if we can help one another through a collaborative effort.
Currently, we use Control-M (option for SAP) for the R/3 scheduling. With the growing demands in BW, particularly for the current project I'm leading, a more robust solution is needed to accomplish our operational goals on the BW side. We have Control-M/CM for SAP installed and connected with a BW sandbox and are currently reviewing the functionality.
Please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] if you are interested in such collaboration or would like to discuss further.
Sincerely,
Kevin Menke

  • Controling a user interface with extern DLL

    Hi,
I am currently developing an application that is based on a graphical interface. I divide my code into multiple DLLs. By going this route, I met several problems. I want to know some facts:
1 - from the DLL can I  assign values to textbox,  read listbox of the GUI:GetCtrlVal (panelHandle, PANEL_TEXTBOX, val); (the GUI is integrating in the project who call the DLL)
2 - I use global variables "extern int" in my files. h and my functions. How do I change this variable declaration when I migrate to the DLL.
If you have any exemple describing how can i control a GUI with extern DLL.
    Thanks

    Hey Fishingman,
It looks like this post is very similar to your other post on Application Architecture.  If this is the case, let's continue this discussion on this thread so that it is easier to follow for anyone else who may be keeping up with this.
To expand on my original response a little though - if you are just looking to be able to modify the user interface in a dll then take a look at this link.  It explains how to set up dll function calls to modify a user interface.  Again, I wouldn't suggest building your entire GUI through different dlls but it is definitely possible to modify it within a dll.

  • Using an Applet to interface with the computer

    h6. Situation
I am trying to build a an Applet, which will allow me to interface with a computer in the same way that a simple 'presentor' does. For clarification a 'presentor' is a piece of hardware that you plug into the computer and then use a radio device to move through the slides.
I cannot think how to do this, though I am sure that it is possible...its Java?! The only way i can kinda see it working is if the Applet emulates a piece of hardware...if that is the case then I think I might be out of my relms of programming. However I appreciate that what I am attempting to do flys in the face of Java in a sense at it runs and exists in a Virtual machine...but there has to be a way....If i can get an Applet to read and write a file on my operating system....then I must be able to get it to emulate a mouse click?
What do you guys think? Am I being to ambitious or just stupid? :)

    Ok, here goes :)
Basically I am trying to create a web based Remote Presenter. You know those bits of hardware were you plug the receiver into the PC and then have the hand held device that allows you to skip though slides.
I think that the need for a receiver dongle is pointless, extra stuff to carry around. I am trying to use my Nokia N95 device, with its build in webserver to create something a bit different.
So far I have been able to create an applet that I have signed, that has the ability to open a socket and wait. I have a very simple server app that sends data to that socket, either a 1 or a 0. When the applet receives this value, it performs a mouse click.....
I have now put this applet onto my N95 mobile web server which is basically a very simple apache webserver and I can access the page and download the applet. The next stage is to somehow create a program that can talk though my mobile phone to the applet......
Ultimately, when I give a lecture I will be able to just browse on the PC to the URL of my mobile web site (xxx.mymobilesite.net) and then run an application on my mobile to control the computer......
A lot of work for a simple power point controller...but with the possibility of more....

  • QM interface with WM

    Hi Gurus,
I Have a situation where transfer orders are generating based on the storage bin capacity.
For example: when i used GR quantity 3000 LBs, TO is not generated and when i changed the quantity to 1000Lbs TO is generated.
I believe, it has something to do with the Storage bin capacity. Please advice.
We had an issue before when QM views were activated, TO's are not generated. So i made a configuration changes in WM interface with QM and moved to Production client, now we are having this problem.
    Your suggestions are highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Quantum.

    Hi Anand Rao,
Thanks for showing interest on my issue.
Configurations i have done QM interface with WM are given below.
Logistics execution -> WarehouseManagement-> Interface->Qualitymanagement->Define Inspection sample Control
Here i maintained Quality control to the Warehouse number.
Logistics execution -> WarehouseManagement-> Interface->Qualitymanagement->Activate QM interim storage type search
Here i assigned Quality control indicators to the warehouce no. and storage type combination.
I believe my issue is not related to the above configuration. It has something to do with the storage bin capacity.
Please feel free to let me know, if you need further information.
    Thanks,
    Naveen.

  • When to use abstract classes instead of interfaces with extension methods in C#?

"Abstract class" and "interface" are similar concepts, with interface being the more abstract of the two. One differentiating factor is that abstract classes provide method implementations for derived classes when needed. In C#, however,
this differentiating factor has been reduced by the recent introduction of extension methods, which enable implementations to be provided for interface methods. Another differentiating factor is that a class can inherit only one abstract class (i.e., there
is no multiple inheritance), but it can implement multiple interfaces. This makes interfaces less restrictive and more flexible. So, in C#, when should we use abstract classes
instead of interfaces with extension methods?
A notable example of the interface + extension method model is LINQ, where query functionality is provided for any type that implements IEnumerable via
    a multitude of extension methods.

    Hi
Well I believe Interfaces have more uses in software design. You could decouple your component implementing against interfaces so that
you have more flexibility on changing your code with less risk. Like Inversion of Control patterns where you can use interfaces and then when you decide you can change the concrete implementation that you want to use. Or other uses for interfaces is you could
    use Interceptors using interfaces (Unity
Interceptor) to do different things where not all of these is feasible or at least as straightforward using abstract classes.

  • Can java interface with windows to do things

    Good evening
I am a student and i am trying to do a project and i wanted to ask everyone here before i asked my teacher,
what i am trying to do is this . create a class that can be run from the desktop that will give me a window of option to do following things
    1) install printer drivers
    2) run a uninstall program
    3) use keys like CTRL ALT SHIFT AND F6 to pop open windows, and is there a way that can have a password entered automatically?
    4) change registry keys
    5) call up reg keys
    6) copy files from one computer ( laptop ) to my lab class over the network onto a specific profile?
if someone out there can just tell me weather or not Java has the capiablity of interfacing with windows control panel, or any of the above stuff let me know and just give me a push in the right direction Please.
    Derek

    Speaking of Java itself.
    1) install printer driversNo
    2) run a uninstall programNo
    3) use keys like CTRL ALT SHIFT AND F6 to pop open windows, and is there a way that can have a password entered automatically?Depends what you mean but you might be able to do this using the Robot (in the awt package.)
    4) change registry keysNo
    5) call up reg keysNo
    6) copy files from one computer ( laptop ) to my lab class over the network onto a specific profile?Depends on what you mean. Java can be used to send files to other computers. Doing that requires that you understand how the other computer (not your compute) processes are controlled.
You can of course do all of the above with windows API (not java) calls. And this is the forum about the JNI interface which allows a Java program to access native APIs, like the Windows one. It does however require quite a bit of detail work in a language besides Java, like C or C++. It is going to be easier if you have quite a bit of experience with those. If not then plan on spending a lot of time learning (factor that into how long it will take to do your project.) And of course you would need to research the APIs for all of the above.
If it matters the registry one is rather easy in terms of the windows API. And you can find many examples of C/C++ code to access it.

  • Interface with LabView

I am a very new to LabView--
We are developing a board to interface with LabView devices- (ideally, the board would have a GPIB connector).  We would like to use LabView to simulate various conditions on the Interface board by controlling switching (board MOSFETs) and then use a GPIB controlled multimeter to read voltages coming out of the Interface Board).
Since the Interface Board we are working on does not have an "address", is it possible to use LabView to communicate with it (send output signals to the board and read signals from it)?  What is often done to have LabView controlled devices communicate with external circuitry ?
    Thanks,
    Alex

What would be an advantage of an interface controller (such as 4823) over a DAQ card (such as PCI-6013)?  If we only need about 6-8 inputs (Digital I/O) and maybe about 6 Analog outputs, wouldnt the 6013 be sufficient to interface with our PCBA?
In your original post, you indicated that a GPIB interface would be ideal. ICS Electronics makes various models of controllers that provide a GPIB SCPI command interface to digital and or analog I/O. This controller can be placed inside the instrument rather than inside a PC and would use GPIB to connect (as you requested).
I have personal experience with the 4823, which can be used to control/monitor TTL devices on a byte-wise basis. Since you have digital and analog requirements, you could look at the ICS 4807 DAQ board. It may not have enough analog outputs though...
The only reason I originally responded was your GPIB requirement.

    Hi experts!
I would like to know the best way to handle interfaces with dependency in XI.
I have a range of 60 interfaces that can only be processed if the last one was sucessful processed. I thought that I could use BPM to handle this, but with so many interfaces in a dependency range is still a good solution?
    Points will be given!

  • Warner/superior electric's SS2000PCi motion controller interfacing with LabVIEW 6i

    Sir,
In our application, we are controlling the movement of X-Y arm on the X-Y table. For this we are using superior electric products:
    (a) Slo-Syn SS2000PCi Programmable Step Motor Controller
    (b) MD808 Motor Drive
We are using two such controllers and motor drives to drive two 2 Amps Sanyo Denki Stepper motors: one each along X-axis and Y-axis. Along with the arm movement a data acquisition also has to be carried out. So, the motion control and Data Acquisition has to be synchronized by means of software. The problem now is to program the controller. Though MCPI Version 4.41 is there, we want to program the controller in LabVIEW 6i so that we can synch
ronize both motion control and Data Acquisition. There is no driver which is compatible to LabVIEW 6i.
Is there any 32-bit DLLs for this controller? If any one has these dll's please let me know. My E-mail ID: [email protected]
So that i can call these DLLs in LabVIEW 6i and program it.Or else send me at least the detailed low level command sets of the controller in pdf format so that i can develop our own drivers.
    Regards,
    Nagendra

    Nagendra,
Unfortunately, I was unable to find any helpful resources for you based on a cursory web search. I recommend that you contact the manufacturer of the hardware and ask them if they have a driver (DLL) that you can use to interface with LabVIEW.
Good luck with your application, and have a good day.

  • Labview interfacing with a multiplexer

    Hello,
I would just like some help with figuring out how to set-up Labview to interface with a multiplexer. On my  ciruit board, I have an eight channel multiplexer which is connected to eight different-value resistors. What I would like is that on my front panel, there should be an drop-down control that allows the user to select any resistor that is connected to the multiplexer. So basically, Labview should be able to send binary information to the multiplexer, which would then select the appropriate resistor. I am fairly new with Labview and don't know how to go about this problem. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi,
All the adress and enable inputs are TTL compatible  (the multiplexer that I'm using is the ADG608 from Analog Devices) and I am currently using the NI PCI-6036E/BNC-2110 starter kit. So, is there a way to implement the interface using this DAQ device? Can I use DAQmx to create a channel just as I would for a normal voltage signal? But I'm not sure how the interface will communicate with the multiplexer.
    Thanks

  • Can you help? Two dialer interfaces with IP SLA for default route failover - issues

I have an issue with a Cisco 2821, it has an ADSL2+ HWIC  whose ATM interfaces is linked to dialer 1 and a Gi0/1 interface with a pppoe client which is linked to dialer 2.  Both dialer interfaces are up with their respective IP addresses.  If the ADSL on dialer 1 fails i want the IP SLA to kick and and replace the default route for dialer 1 with one for dialer 2.
This config works if you manually shut down the dialer 1 interface, it injects the default route for dialer 2 and then when you unshut the interface, the default route for dialer 1 comes back.  The problem i have is if you take out the cable for the ATM interface and take it down, it does not take the route out the routing table and the default route for dialer2,  which works if you just shut down dialer 1 does not appear.
whats the difference between shutting down dialer1 and it fails over the default route and taking the cable out then it does not?

Sure that EEM can shut/unshut interface...you have "event track" in EEM for monitoring track events...for example:
    event manager applet test
    event track 1 state down
    action 1.0 command "enable"
    action 1.1 command "conf t"
action 1.2 command "interfac dialer 1"
    action 1.3 command "shut"
action 1.4 syslog "Dialer 1 down!!!"
    action 1.5 end
This would be an example from head :)
You would need another EEM similar to this one for unshutting interface with "event track 1 state up" for bringing interface up again.
Again as I said you would need to test this before putting in production and you would maybe need to tweak this a little bit acording to your needs...
