Control of drawing rectangle (links, cropping, etc.)

For some reason, I don't have precise control over drawing rectangles (for adding links or cropping) to PDF documents in Acrobat 9.0 Pro. I used to!
I can still create these boxes, but they are much more rigid control-wise, almost like a "snapping" feature is activated. If links are close together on the PDF, it's hard to make them so they don't overlap.
Does this make sense? Advice?

Under View make sure Snap to grid is turned off.

  • Missing controls in Develop module - crop etc

    They were there a couple of days ago but for the last few sessions the group of controls (including crop etc) that sit under the main image in the Develop module have gone missing.
    I've been playing with the 'view' options without success and it seems that they are not coming back of their own volition.
    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks - I tried options on the view menu but missed the obvious one at the top.

  • Extracting informations about rectangles, lines, fields etc from PDF

    I'm looking for a way, to extract rectangles, lines, fields etc from a PDF, for example think of a blue rectangle which is drawn in a Word document, which is later exported to pdf. I need informations about the position of the rectangle, the color, the size, if it is filled or not, etc. Is there something like an API or an SDK which can help me? I searched for quite a time (so please, no RTFM-answers), but the only references I found where about producing PDF or extracting text, images or graphics (oh, just at the moment, I had the idea, that lines and rectangles could be coded as vector-graphics in PDF, could that be possible?).
    I'm thankful for all answers and ideas (even if you just post links with informations),
    kind regards,
    Pivo

    Yes, lines and rects are coded as vector graphics (or specifically path drawing instructions) in a PDF.
    Adobe offers an SDK around Adobe Acrobat which would enable you to get this information. If you need a standalone solution, we also offer our full PDFLibrary.

    I have one folder with several projects all of which Aperure can not find the original.  I do not use referenced files.  I can't make any adjustments like cropping etc. What can I do to adjust or print any of these photos?  IO have no ther projects with this problem.  My Aperture Library is automatically saved to two external drives.

    I have one folder with several projects all of which Aperure can not find the original.
    Have you checked inside your Aperture library, if the original files are still there?
    Try to find out, when the images in those projects have been originally imported, then open the Aperture library by ctrl-clicking it and using the command "Show package contents" from the pop-up menu. In the window that will open, select the folder "Masters" and browse the contents. You need to find the subfolder with the year you imported the images, then the folders with the month and the day.
    Are your original files still there?
    If yes, copy them to a folder on your desktop for safe-keeping, and then try, if repairing the permissions and the other Furst Aid tools will help Aperture to connect to these missing files again - see this link:  Repairing and Rebuilding Your Aperture Library: Aperture 3 User Manual
    If the First Aid Tools don't help, then check, if Aperture has moved the missing images to a "recovered folder". If not, reimport the images, you saved to your Desktop and use the Lift&Stamp tool to transfer any adjustment and captions to your reimported images.

  • Can we control Work center group links using auth object UIU_COMP

    Hello All,
    We are running into an issue while doing our PFCG role configuration.
    I need to know if we can control Work center group links in a business role through auth object UIU_COMP.
    We can control Workcenter's but not 'Work Center Group Links'.
    Here is what we did:
    - We have a business role Z_RA_DEFAULT.
    - The Nav Bar Profile SRV-PRO for this business role has some work center group links that are checked in menu and visible.
    - I'm trying to find the values in the auth object UIU_COMP to restrict Work center group links.
    - Even though the values Work center group links are in menu and visible,
    I want to remove these Work center group links from the screen using the auth object.
    - If we remove the check from in menu and visible in the business role the Work center group links disapper from the screen.
    Right now this is only way we are able to controle Work center group links.
    Question:
    - Can I use UIU_COMP to restrict Work center group links?
    - any another auth object that controle Work center group links?
    - any document/ website / info  available which tells us what can we restrict with auth object UIU_COMP?
    - or any other way of doing this... like code change, user exit, ....?
    Really appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Nasir

    I am not sure if I have understood the issue correctly, but still what stops you from actually creating a clone business role to your existing business role and deactivating the in menu visible work center group links. Use this new business role for users who need to be prevented from viewing the work center groups links in question.
    If you are going to use authorization objects to control the visibility wont it impact all users (still defeating your original purpose?)
    Again apologies in case I have got the question wrong.

    In Firefox Options / Privacy be sure "Remember download history" is checked. To see all of the options on that panel, "Firefox will" must be set to "Use custom settings for history".
    To find your OS information, on your Windows desktop, right-click the My Computer icon, choose Properties, under System on that small window is info about your OS.

  • Draw rectangle in plot

    How can i draw rectangle in graph
    with Component works++?

    Annotations were introduced to the C++/ActiveX graph in Measurement Studio 6.0. This is the best way to draw a rectangle.
    Details:
    CNiAnnotation:hape is a property of type CNiShape. CNiShape::Type is an enumeration, one value of which is CNiShape::Rectangle. Use CNiShape::XCoordinates and CNiShape::YCoordinates to specify the location and size of the rectangle. Use CNiAnnotation::CoordinateType to specify whether the coordinates of the rectangle are in axis units or in pixels relative to plot area or screen area.
    If you cannot upgrade to Measurement Studio 6.0, you could consider using 2 cursors as a workaround.

  • Not synching edited (ie, cropped, etc.) versions to iPad

    I have recently created Albums of all of the photos in my Events.  I did this so that I could rearrange the order of the photos (which is easy to do within an Album, but impossible, I understand to do within an Event).  After I moved all of my photos to Albums, I edited some of them (ie, cropping, etc.).  I just synched all of my Albums to my iPad, but for many albums it is synching the unedited (ie, not cropped) versions of the photos.  I have now removed all of the photos from my iPad and synched them one album at a time, but for some (and only some) albums it is still synching the non-edited versions.  I have done a search and haven't been able to locate a similar problem.  Any guidance would be very much welcome.
    Thank you in advance.

    One more thing, since you're using the Draw Rectangle function you need to deal with the cases where the rectangle is not drawn from top left to bottom right. You have to make sure the minimum X value goes to the LEFT input and the minimum Y value goes to the TOP input of the rect terminal of the Draw Rectangle vi. Use the Max & Min function from the comparison palette for this.

  • Drawing rectangles in Applet

    Hi all.
    I am looking to manipulate this code so that the user can draw rectangles rather than dragging dots to the screen.
    any ideas how I would do this?
    import java.applet.Applet;
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    public class L10DragMouse extends Applet {
         private int xValue = -10, yValue = -10;
         public void init()
              addMouseMotionListener(new MotionHandler(this) );
         public void paint( Graphics g )
              g.drawString("Drag the mouse to draw", 10, 20);
              g.fillOval(xValue, yValue, 4, 4);
         public void update(Graphics g) {paint(g); }
         public void setCoordinates(int x, int y)
              xValue = x;
              yValue = y;
              repaint();

         public void mouseDragged( MouseEvent e )
              { dragger.setCoordinates(e.getX(), e.getY() ); }

    Okay it is compiling for me now but is not allowing me to create rectangles when the applet opens up. Just a plain page and no graph / rectangle when I drag mouse.

  • Draw rectangle with rmi

    Dear friends
    I do I draw a simple square in rmi?
    thanks

    RuiAranhaJava wrote:
    ejp...posting an interface doesn't help and I don't want no one to do my work...
    The simple question is to draw a rectangle or circle in a frame...but one of the problems is that draw (Graphics g) is abstract and must be implemented in a abstract class (I can't even declare the function).
    what I really need is a small example to understand how to do this... I really want to understand...
    Thankssounds like you would be better off posting in the AWT or "new to java" forums. you are currently posting in the RMI forums which is for questions related to remote communication, not questions related to drawing rectangles. once you figure out how to draw a rectangle, if you still need some sort of remote communication help, i'd recommend reading some RMI tutorials. then, if you have a specific question related to remote communication in java, come back here and ask it.

  • MFC: Draw rectangle inside a rectangle

    Hi,
    I have drawn a rectangle:
    dc.Rectangle(10,10,200,100);

    I am manually adjusting the co-ordinate, Is there any API to do this.

    Just write yourself a function and use it as needed. Programming is not manual work; the computer does the heavy lifting.
    Edit: Actually, I think CRect::DeflateRect() does what you want.

    Now that I am addressing the path items and text items of the group separately I am having some success. Now I am having difficulty getting the correct terms for assigning a Spot Color to the file. Here is a piece of the script.
    This works:
    tell application "Adobe Illustrator"
    set openDoc to document 1
    set ftClr1 to (first group item whose note is "Front3") of openDoc
    set ftClr1Paths to path items of ftClr1
    repeat with thisPath in ftClr1Paths
    set fill color of thisPath to {red:255}
    end repeat
    set textFrames to text frames of ftClr1
    repeat with thistext in textFrames
    set fill color of every line of thistext to {red:255}
    end repeat
    end tell
    Need help to set the fill color to a Spot Color that already exists in Swatches.
