Controling witch number premiere pro starts an image seq at

Is it possible to have premiere naming the DPX number manualy
I know i can do an export the whole seq from 0-8000.... and the frame counter will start at zero........and so on
But if i do a correction and only want to export from frame 2000-4000 premiere makes the numbers start at Zero again.
How can i control what number premiere pro start at when making a image seq ?
Thank you

You can always Batch Rename in Bridge.

  • Premiere Pro CS5 corrupting images!

I do alot of projects that are a montage of photos and videos - in my latest project Premiere Pro started replacing pictures with other picture data. This has not happened to me so it must have happened when a recent patch or something was installed. I am using 5.0.3. Here are some more details:
There are a few times when this will happen so here are a couple instances:
    1. I will import some pictures into the Jproject BIN area. I wil then grab them and drop them into a sequence. Using a speicfic exampl, I droped 5 images into the sequence (a HD 1080i sequence) and when I moved the preview bar on top of them I noticed a couple of the images were the same image! Lets say they are 1.jpg, 2.jpg, ... 5.jpg. What I noticed is that all of a sudden 3.jpg is showing what 1.jpg is. If I delete and reload, same thing! I actually have to open 3.jpg in photoshop and make a small change, resave it, and then Premiere Pro will then reload and the image shows up fine. This happens randomly and in the 200+ images I import may only see this 3 or 4 times!
    2. Sometimes I will have loaded the images in a sequence already and they are all showing correctly - then a couple will mysteriously just change to another image in the project. Same process needed to get it back...like it needs to force a reload to uncorrupt it!
    3. Last time this hit me was the worst. Project done, reviewed it start to finish like 3 times...looked perfect. Exported to Encore, built DVD, transcoded and burned a DVD. When I played it - 3 pictures had changed!!!
This issue is so frustrating...this is really perplexing me...andyes, I have tried clearing the Media Cache within PP...HELP!
    Thanks - Jeff

    J. D.
Thanks for the suggestion - but unfortunately I have not installed the CS5.5 Tial...nothing new from Adobe has been installed between the time when I used PP last where I didnt have this issue and this time. Only chnages are the peridoic Adobe Updates - had to have been introduced in a new PP Update within the last few months.

  • Wrong serial number premiere pro 2.0

I have premiere pro 2.0 installed on my computer but it doesn't work. I think I originally put in the wrong serial number. It doesn't let me change it no matter how many times I reinstall the program. Is it still possible to change the serial number?

No... you need to UN-install and start over
Also, you MUST download and use the SPECIAL VERSION from http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.htm l because your original version will not work because the activation server no longer exists

  • Premiere Pro CS5 confuses images with each other

    Hi Adobe-Community,
I've got a severe problem, that is holding back my whole project at the moment, and I really hope you can help me with this.
Premiere regularly confuses the images I have added to my project with each other. So when I am importing 2 images, let's say CIMG5967.JPG and CIMG5974.JPG, by dragging them into my project, two new elements are created. But when I'm putting these elements into my sequence, both appear as the same image, although they are still properly named after their original file.
Sometimes the very same problem even occurs some days later, so parts of my project, that have already been finished, suddenly appear as if I would have used the same image over and over again.
    I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 - Version 5.0.3
Using the option to clean up the media-cache-db didn't help.

Happened to me once - a corrupt project.
    Unlink all the faulty images.
    Open a new project.
    IMPORT the old project
    Relink the images.

  • Webinar: Controlling Time in Premiere Pro & After Effects CC

    Hi all,
Check out this free Webinar by Rich Harrington. Controlling Time in Adobe Premiere Pro CC and After Effects CC (Fri. Aug. 9th - tomorrow): Details http://ow.ly/nKOVL
    Cheers,
    Kevin

    Yeah, right!
I tried to tell her that I want a really good chair for the new house, but I didn't mention just how much those things cost.
However, her late father liked Herman Miller chairs. He designed furniture for hotels but could appreciate other brands than his own. So she might let me have one if I tell her that her father would have wanted us to have a pair of them in the office.
Actually, I think I will be able to figure out how to get an hour off. I'll just prep my morning the night before and get most of it done before 10AM. I will wake her early and she will be tired about the time 10AM rolls around. If she is tired, I am allowed to be tired.

  • Registration and Serial Number Premiere Pro 1.5

In 2004 or 5 I bought PP 1.5 in Miqami and after arriving home in Brasil I never registered my product. I wish to register it now but can not locate any of my original documents. All I have is what is installed on my computer. Where can I find my serial number in the installed software ? Thanks for all the help...

You will not be able to register that product... see below for instructions on how to obtain CS2
    CS2 (and earlier) Activation Server http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.htm l
    From that link...
Adobe has disabled the activation server for CS2 products, including Acrobat 7, because of a technical issue. These products were released more than seven years ago, do not run on many modern operating systems, and are no longer supported. Adobe strongly advises against running unsupported and outdated software. The serial numbers provided as a part of the download may only be used by customers who legitimately purchased CS2 or Acrobat 7 and need to maintain their current use of these products
Also, when you have product questions for that several generation old program, there is a different forum

  • I cannot edit the Cross Dissolve in the Effects Control Panel in Premiere Pro CC 2014

If I put a film dissolve between two clips on my timeline, and then click on the film dissolve, I'm able to go to my Effects Window and drag clip A (Top Bar) to the right and trim lets say 3 seconds then go to Clip B (Bottom Bar) and drag to the left to take off lets say 10 seconds off the beginning of clip B.  That very method worked for cross dissolves until this latest update for CC 2014.  It forces me to use ripple edit in the timeline on each endpoint of each clip instead of flying through it in the effects window by clicking each dissolve in the time line.  It's just weird that they would take that out for only the cross dissolve which I prefer using more than anything and not the rest of the dissolves. Does anyone have a clue why? Or is this a bug?

That is correct. This is the only transition where the workflow has changed.
You can now make it into a preset.
BTW I dont use it often but i dont like it either not being able to adjust the cross dissolve in the EC.

  • Premiere Pro - Assembling a Simple Image/Audio Video

    Hello,
I am attempting to put together a brief video usind Premiere Pro with simple images and voice over, and am finding myself quite stuck.
Is there a "best" image type to import into Premiere to avoid losing quality? If so, what is it?
My images are 7.5x4" or smaller, and are not very high resolution. Is there a setting or video format to use that will best accomodate these images?
    Thanks.

What is the intended destination for the completed video? If DVD, then use a DV sequence in Premiere (720x480 pixels). Choose standard (4:3) or Widescreen (16:9) option. You described your photos in inches. Are you scanning hard copies? If so, you could scan at 150dpi and that would provide adequate resolution for a DV project. If you wanted to go with HD, such as 720p for YouTube, then scan at 300dpi. A benefit of having photos a bit larger than the Sequence is that you can "zoom and pan" around in the image without losing quality, ala "Ken Burns Effect".
If your images are already digital, then the "inches" are irrelevant - what are the dimensions in pixels? That is what we are concerned with.
    Thanks

  • Premiere Pro 5.5.2 crashes when generating thumbnails; faults ImageRenderer.dll

Hello all!  I'm a new Premiere user.  I've been working on a review show, and it's been going great for the last month.  A few days ago, however, Premiere Pro started acting wonky.  Part of my show involves putting in small clips from other sources, typically 3-4 seconds.  With this most recent show, Premiere Pro started crashing left and right without warning.  It took me a few days to narrow down the source.
ImageRenderer.dll seems to be crashing when attempting to generate thumbnail images of the sourced clips.  Everything else seems to work fine.  It seemed to start when I used the Clip Speed / Duration function to slow down a 30fps clip to about 25% speed.  I realized later that the clips were at 30fps in a 24fps timeline (the rest of my material is 24fps).  Once I changed the clip's speed, Premiere started crashing, perhaps due to how the clip interacted with the timeline.  I removed the offending clip, but it seemed that the damage was done.  I discovered that if I deleted the source file from the project inventory pane Premiere wouldn't crash.
I just recently discovered that if I collapse the video track of the source clip, Premiere won't generate thumbnails for those clips and thus remains stable.  I stress-tested my rig all day yesterday using MemTest86 and Prime95, with no errors.  I also uninstalled Premiere Pro, rebooted, and reinstalled from scratch.  I still get the ImageRenderer.dll crash when Premiere attempts to generate thumbnails for the clips.  So far I do have a workaround (collapse the video track) but I would like to figure out a better solution for it.  I even created a new project and re-sourced the clips into a different frame rate.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    ~Josh

  • Huge Bugs with Many Legs Still Living in Premiere Pro - (Border from Sharpening & Flickering from Adjustment Layer)

I haven't edited video in awhile.  While working on a new project I've run into a bunch of what I suppose are well known issues in Premiere Pro CC 2014.  It seems Adobe has know about these issues for some time, but that for some reason, nothing is being done about them.  Here is my most recent experience with editing a video using PP:
    1. Found that color correction tools in Premiere Pro for setting White Balance Suck for folks who don't edit video 8 hours a day.
Searched on web to find solution find that Adobe has no fix but random humans have found hack solution: White Balance in Premiere Pro CC on Vimeo
The dude shows you how to use the Cyroce Color Neutralizer plugin from After Effects - but sure enough the current version of the plugin that ships with AE CC 2014 doesn't work with premiere any more so you have to download the old version from dude's website here:  http://www.sternfx.com/tutorials/136
    Thanks to the DUDE!
    2. Found out that adding an Adjustment layer can cause flickering in footage.
Searched on web to find solution find that Adobe has no fix but random humans have found hack solution: PP CC 2014 - adjustment layers flickering problem : Adobe Premiere Pro  AND  Re: image flickering from adjustment layer
Added mask to control flickering.  More specifically, I turned each effect in the adjustment layer on and off until I found the particular effect that was causing the flickering.  Then I created a mask in that effect which covered the entire frame.  Mystically the flickering disappeared.  Learned that if you make any changes to adjustment layer effects, flickering will return and you have to delete/recreate the mask once again. Ridiculous.
    3. Thought all was good and that I could now peacefully continue to finish my project.  I was wrong.  Found that adding sharpening in adjustment layer causes a small border to form around the entire frame.  The pixels seem faded or translucent or something.
Searched on web to find solution find that Adobe has no fix but random humans have found hack solution:  Sharpening bug Premiere Pro - - Fourmedia
So now I've learned that the sharpening effect needs to go on it's own adjustment layer.  Awesome.
Flickering returns because I made a change to adjustment layer 1.  Re-mask.  Sweet.
That's it.  Pretty sure this post will help folks out, but man I am going to run out and give another NLE a shot.  None of these operations should be this difficult.  Makes me wonder if Adobe even attempts to use their own programs.  I don't see how anyone could possibly let a huge tool like Premiere Pro suffer from these issues -- and for so long a period of time.  Absolutely ridiculous.  Adobe truly seems to be asleep at the wheel.  This is some amateur crap here.

Thanks for this post. It would be cool (since Adobe doesn't seem to use their products) if there were more posts like this that I could read before I upgrade. I'm having the flickering w adjustment layer problem you mentioned in #2 - and this post is over month old! Aghh

  • Premiere pro CS 5

I know I'm late to the party and I'm sure this question has been asked, but I'm just now making the switch from FCP to Premiere Pro starting with CS5. I'm having issues with Premiere pro CS5 running slow when I try to create effects. The machine itself is in great shape. Clean drives, dual processors, blah blah blah. I am running os 10.6.8 and have heard this can be an issue.

  • Premiere Pro CC 2014.2 not stable on my system

    Mac OS 10.10.1
I am having problems with Premiere Pro CC 2014.2 that make it almost unusable on my system. All other software, including AE, Audition, Prelude, Photoshop etc. working well.
The symptoms, which are not specific to any one project - but seem to effect all equally - are:
    1) Intermittently, I loose the ability to play clips or the timeline. I can drag the playhead around, but nothing plays, nor does the viewer or program monitor change or update. I can't use the space bar for play, nor can I click the play button with the mouse.  Either action requires a re-start.
    2) Exiting the application, Premiere Pro will not completely shut down. It goes into some kind of limbo state. The only way to shut the application down is to use the Force Quit command from the Apple Menu. Once the application has been Forced to Quit, it will not restart until the computer has been restarted. It will just bounce up and down in the dock and never launch completely.  The only way to launch it again is to completely restart the computer. If the application has been force quit, when I shut the computer down, I get the spinning wheel for a very long time during the shut down process, but the computer does completely shut down on its own. After I restart, Premiere Pro starts up promptly.
What I have done so far:
    Verified Disk Permissions
Run Disk Warrior on all disks.
    Trashed Premiere Pro preferences
Uninstalled the Premiere Pro app, and then re-installed a fresh download.
    My computer specs:
And I am connected to 2 Thunderbolt Pegasus Raids for the media.
    Any help much appreciated.

    Yes, it is.
Does this happen with brand new projects, as well?
    Yes.

They were all set to read/write, I did the procedure as outlined in the link.
Have you checked the permissions of your Mac HD and your media drives?
    Yes.
If you create a new user with Admin privileges, does that work better?
I have not tried this yet.
If you disconnect your media drives do you see any improvement in stability?
    No.
This problem does not, to me, seem to coincide with the either the OS upgrade or Software upgrade. It has begun to appear over the last week or so, and is occurring more and more often.
Any help you can give appreciated.

  • Importing graded footage back to Premiere Pro CS6

I am trying to color correct/grade my clips. I sent it to Speedgrade through Premiere Pro (CS6) but after rendering it out as a DPX, and trying to send it back to Premiere Pro (DPX as image sequence), not all graded clips were there. (Clip is 4:40 min) but only 1:39 min is what was imported back to Premiere Pro.

I've found on occasion that I've tried to export and didn't catch that the export dialog thought I was only trying to export something highlighted or had another setting for "area selected". I would guess you've run afoul of something similar ... or a box that was checked you might not even realize was there. As I just found trying to (for the first time in a year) export an EDL from PrPro to Sg. I had to puzzle out something like three different places the two programs were trying to help me before I could get the blasted EDL and footage both imported to the same Sg timeline.
As an alternative to DPX there is of course two different EDL processes ... one where you simply export an EDL and then after creating your Sg project, navigate to that through Sg's Media panel, drag it to the timeline, then using the Media Panel navigate to the folder containing your clips, then use the "load from desktop" option to populate your timeline.
The other ... you export both the EDL and the sequence from timeline, and then put one on the new Sg project timeline, drag the other on top. It takes a bit longer to do the export from PrPro of the footage which is probably not needed most of the time.
I've just put up on the forum an explanation of how to do this with progressive footage and avoid the hiccups the two programs can throw at you. The first one ... if all your media is in a single folder-tree ... is very quick & easy. That EDL export is nearly instantaneous, and the clips load over it just bango ... now, I used to have problems at times exporting (rendering) a timeline out of Sg. I don't know if an EDL process can work sending grading back to PrPro, I think you'd have to render out. But many people did that all the time without problems.

  • Why does Premiere Pro blue-screen if Windows Audio Service is enabled?

Since I enabled ASIO in Premiere Pro, I have to remember to disable the Windows Audio Service before starting Premiere Pro, or else it will blue-screen at some point, usually after I pause playback of a video clip.  It only happens in ASIO audio mode, and completely goes away if I disable Windows Audio.  Something is interacting badly between the Premiere Pro ASIO driver and the Windows Audio service.  The error message has something to do with USB host or something like that...I don't have it in front of me right now.
I tried to create a batch file to disable the service, then run Premiere Pro with "start /wait", then re-enable it when premiere is closed, but Premiere Pro cannot be run by that command, unlike every other executable I've ever used it on.  It just doesn't come up.  So I tried with a Powershell script instead, and when doing the equivalent in Powershell, Premiere Pro starts, but the window is blank and hangs forever until you kill it by clicking the X.  I would be fine with a scripting workaround, but Premiere Pro is really really really resistant to that apparently, so my only option is to remember to disable it manually EVERY SINGLE TIME.  It's just annoying when I forget to disable it and then I lose work, and probably hard drive clusters, when the blue-screen comes.  And if I want to export something to another program in the suite that doesn't use ASIO, I won't be able to play audio without closing Premiere and fiddling with the service.
Here are the specs that might be relevant:
    -Windows 7 x64
-M-Audio FastTrack Pro sound card (usb) [latest drivers]
    -12 GB RAM
    -Intel core i7
-gtx 460 video card with the ini file CUDA hack

I'll make sure to do that.  But in case the bug takes a long time to fix or gets pointed to M-Audio, who will most likely not ever fix it if it's in their stuff, does anybody know how I can get the batch file and/or powershell solution to work?  I don't really get why Premiere Pro would know or care who launched it as long as it launched in its own process.
