Controller failure - APs still online?

If I have one controller and it fails, will the lightweight APs still be online? Or will my wireless network be down?
I searched and cannot find an answer to this question.
Thanks for your help.

To disable or enable the 802.1X authentication, use this command:
config wlan security 802.1X {enable | disable} wlan-id

The site is joehewett.uk and I am worried that now I do not have the files of the website I cannot remove it?
    James.

Did you delete the files from your Remote server?
Deleting the local site folder or the site definition in DW will have no effect on your remote site.
When I go to your URL, I see the index.html page with 16 code errors and this background image:
    http://joehewett.uk/Untitled-1.jpg
So the site is still online until you delete those files from your server.

  • Lots of odd RAID controller messages but array still online

    Hi,
Each night we get a tonne of odd messages from the raid controller in our RD220. The controller is the MR10i.
We've had nothing but problems with this raid setup since inception. New backplanes, new splitter, new cables etc. Most issues have gone but these errors are worrying.

  • Possible Drive Controller Failure? Would like more informed opinions please

I normally work on PC's but had a client approach me to work on a MacBook. It's a Core 2 Duo Intel hardware etc..He complained of dead battery, DVD stuck in drive, and no boot. The unit will power on with the AC adaptor plugged in and will boot to a Mac OSX install disk. Initially when I got it I booted to a Tiger install disk and ran disk utility. Found a 160GB drive that had 2 volumes on it. 1 was mountable, the other not. Tried running repair and verify on both the drive and the volume. Error I got referenced an underlying failure. I figured drive was dead or on the way. Booted into single user mode and played with some Unix commands. Still could not mount drive. So..I popped the 160GB out and popped in a 60GB known good HDD. I formatted the 60GB on my PC with NTFS. Booted to Tiger disk..Not recognized. Hmm...Used MacDrive 8 to format disk to HFS+ on my PC and popper it back in. Still doesd not recognize. Drive Utility does not even see the drive. Nor does System Profiler. At this point I just would like to know if I am looking at a failed drive controller (it is STA) or what. The DVD is not hanging off the SATA controller. It is ATA and I am not sure if the board has a dedicated chip for ATA or if it hanhgs off the SouthBridge. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated...

Just an idea: If you can group - on the screen - the components that "come and go", then you might be able to position them in an individual panel, and make that alternatively visible and invisible. That would eliminate doing a whole lot of monkeying with component locations at runtime.

  • Controller losing APs

    Hi All,
This is a bit odd but it has been happening ever since we have been using the Cisco wireless APs and the 2106 Controllers.
When ever the controller goes down, either through power outage or planned outage the APs lose connection and never reconnect until I go to the AP and physically unplug it and plug it back in.
Initially I ran everything through a trunked port and that seemed to work fine but after reading a news posting here I changed the ap-management, and management interfaces to separate non-trunked ports but it seems to still happen.
The APs plug into a switch that has 802.1x authentication enabled but the APs are using mac based authentication so the controller going down should not knock them off the correct vlan.
    Any ideas here?

To disable or enable the 802.1X authentication, use this command:
    config wlan security 802.1X {enable | disable} wlan-id

  • Video Controller Failure.

After a couple of months of kernel panics, freezing, etc., a Hardware Test finally produced the sad conclusion that the NVIDIA 8600M GT video controller in my MBP had failed. This is the well documented fault that has been occurring since 2007/2008. My MBP is now just a month short of its fifth birthday so I do not believe I am going to get a free ride. I have contacted my local Apple Reseller in the UK and they advised me a replacement logic board would cost around UK500 pounds. The gentleman also added that this is the last year that parts for this model will available due to its age. I was thinking of a replacement this year as my daughter has been pining for mine for some time.
Here is the question: does anyone know the cost of a replacement logic board in the US? I shall be there later this year.
Anyone's thoughts of whether this repair is worthwhile or not would be appreciated. I feel the laptop, given a trouble free run, is good speed and software wise for some time to come. I have just fitted a 1TB hard drive and upgraded to 4MB RAM.
An unfortunate year for me, I have just had to replace the HD in the family iMac 27 and now this. The first hardware failures on my Macs since I started using them 1986. A good run for my money I feel!!
    Advice please.
    TY

Too late to help you unfortunately but under European law, Apple must replace faulty hardware components until 6 years after purchase.

  • 2504 controller + 2602 APs = wireless clients connectivity problems

    Hello, everybody!
I have a connectivity problems of wireless clients. The symptoms are:
    1) Some clients receive 169.254.x.x., instead a correct DHCP addresses, less in a minute connection drops, and in controller's "Monitor" > "Clients" tab these clients are marked as "Excluded".
    2) Most of the clients receive the correct addresses from DHCP (192.168.2.x), but also loose connection soon.
    3) Wireless clients with correct addresses can't ping each other, gateway and an address of the controller's dynamic interface (all of them are in same subnet).
    4) And the most suspicious problem is that some machines are unable to connect to APs after several attemps to do that. I mean, I configure controller and change some options, trying to understand, whether they were applied or not and constantly connect and disconnet certain PC to the SSID. After five or ten attempts I can't connect to the SSID. During these attempts, the others PCs stay connected, without interruptions, and they could be reconnected again. It's like some kind of port security works, but I'm not sure...
Do you have any ideas which options should I configure?
    My configuration:
I have three interfaces on the controller: virtual, management (default) and dynamic (it is set to the WLAN)
I have one SSID, WPA/WPA2, AES/TKIP, authentication PSK.
My clients are a/b/g/n, all are permitted on the controller. No custom security policies were applied.
All the devices are in a single room: controller, one AP and different clients: desktop, notebooks, iPad, Nokia Lumia, etc.
I have an internal DHCP Server on the controller and it works perfectly well.
I can provide all the screenshots required from web-interface of the controller...
Many thanks in advance for all ideas that you have about these problems...

    Hi, there!
    The problem was solved.
    1) APIPA address receives only single machine with Win8 - I think there are some firewall issues
    2) Other devices have been loosing connection because they were mobile devices, like iPad and Lumia. If you keep working with it, it doesn't drop the connection
    3) The dynamic interface address and gateway address were inaccessible because i had not used an appropriate port on the controller. =)))) Firstly, it was just a guess, but it proved.
Now, everything works with WPA2, AES, PSK...
It is a very good day!)
The only question remains: why I can't connect machines, which have a static IP? During the controller initialization, I said "yes" for permitting static IPs...
Guys, many thanks for your help!

  • Lost all my network adapters - network icon is X'ed out but still online

Win7 x64 - little backstory to explain how i got here...
This was a vista machine that i upgraded to win7. Everything worked after the upgrade except for hamachi (version 1). I did a reinstall of that and it fixed it, except i had 2 hamachi network interfaces listed in device manager, one of which was showing up as broken (yellow exclamation mark). Since everything was working i left it alone.
Fast forward to today - i tried to upgrade hamachi to hamachi 2. Seemed to work ok but i couldn't connect to any peers. Looking into it it said the hamachi adapter was faulty and looking at my network connections there was no hamachi adapter listed.
I opened device manager and there was just one hamachi nic listed and it was the broken one. I selected uninstall - checked the box to remove the driver and it uninstalled.
I then manually installed another instance of the hamachi network adapter. Hamachi still cant connect to peers - same error msg about the network adapter.
Only now, ALL of my network adapters are missing in the network connections folder. And the network status icon in the status tray is showing a red X as though it's not connected, even though this PC is online (i'm connecting to it through RDP).
I've already tried rebooting - no effect. So any ideas where all my network connections/adapters went and how to get this all sorted?
One more piece of info - if i right click on the network icon in the status tray and select troubleshoot, having another problem, specific adapter - on that screen it then lists 3 network adapters. Tried letting it diagnose all of them but no effect.
And if i open the network connections folder and go to help, advanced options, i get an 'unexpected error'

    Hi,
This issue can occur by incompatible NIC driver or corrupted files. I suggest you try the following steps.
    1. Uninstall the NIC driver and reinstall the driver for Windows Vista or Windows 7 in Compatibility Mode.
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode with Networking and check the result.
If there is any error message, please capture and upload it for research.
    Thanks,
    Novak

thanks but i haven't been able to find a ksoap specific forum! I have posted the same question on the blackberry forums but there are so many ksoap related issues there that nobody seems able to help.
I was hoping that this issue was more a general error than a ksoap one!

  • Unable to connect on premises build controller to Visual Studio Online account

I've been looking into VSO for our build process, but I'm having some difficulty on the basic set up.
We use Unity3D and would require an on premises build controller. I've created a VM and attempted to set up a build controller using this article for details:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms181712.aspx
I'm able to open the build service configuration wizard and I get to the "Connect to Team Project Collection" window. However, when I attempt to add my server, using my username and password (which is also the global admin), I get a TF31003 error.
I've verified that I have build permissions, but I keep getting this error everytime I attempt to connect the controller to VSO.
I also attempted to use a custom build account, which had Build Service and Build Administrator membership. It also got the same error.
What could be causing this issue?

    Hi Jason,
    Thanks for your post.
Please follow the detailed steps in this
article to configure and connect On-premise Build Service for your VSO account, if still receive the same issue, please share you received the error under which detailed step.
When connecting to VSO account in Build Service, you need provide the user which added in your VSO account.

  • Controller and APs upgrade??

    Hi
I have a set of APs and I need to buy a controller for them. please see the specification below:
    Product/Model Number: AIR-AP1232AG-E-K9
    Top Assembly Serial Number: FCZ1032Z022
    System Software Filename: c1200-k9w7-tar.123-8.JA2
    System Software Version: 12.3(8)JA2
    Bootloader Version: 12.3(2)JA4
I am planning to install the 4404 WLAN controller.
do I need to make any upgrade to the software used by the APs?
    thank you.
    hassine laribi

    You need two things:
    1.  You need to prepare the LWAP image to convert your autonomous AP (aAP) to light-weight AP (LWAP); and
    2.  You need to use the Cisco Upgrade Tool to convert your aAP to LWAP.

  • AP1252AG Power Injector - Ethernet Failure Radios still UP

    Hi All,
    please can somebody help?
I was doing a simple test today with 2 AP's, both AP's are powered by Cisco Power Injectors. I was expecting that my client would simply switch association from one access point to another if I disconnected the ethernet cable of one AP (breaking the network connection). What I noticed was that the Radio's of the AP which has it's ethernet cable unplugged were still authenicating clients. i.e clients were authenticaing with radios of AP which has it ethernet interface down.
Please can somebody tell me whether there is a command that will cause the radios to shutdown in case of ethernet failure, thus forcing clients to try to find another AP

  • Storage Spaces - unmark hard drive as "retired" after SATA controller failure

    Hello,
I am having a problem with Storage Spaces - it won't start recovering the mirror set.
The mirror set got degraded because one of SATA ports on the controller went bad (I/O errors with any hard drive on that port).
After the hard drive is reconnected to another port, Storage Spaces still shows the drive as 'Retired'.
I can unmark the disk by running Set-PhysicalDisk -UniqueID id -Usage AutoSelect
Then, I can access a Simple (non-mirrored) thin-provisioned virtual disk located on that physical disk, and there are no I/O errors in Event Log, or any other errors.
But after I attempt to initiate Mirror set repair (Repair-VirtualDisk -FriendlyName mirror), the physical disk becomes 'Retired' again, although no I/O errors have occured.
Seems that somewhere in the metadata there is incorrect information about actual disk health state, and I need a way to reset it.
    Thank you.

    Thank you for reply.
Figured out a workaround which solved the problem, however, it is somewhat crude (use at your own risk!):
    1. If there are any non-redundant (simple) virtual disks in the storage pool, back up the data somewhere (they have to be deleted and recreated from scratch)
    2. Disable the spaceport driver (sc config spaceport start= disabled), so you can see the hidden GPT partitions of type 'e75caf8f-f680-4cee-afa3-b001e56efc2d'.
    3. Reboot.
    4. Wipe the affected physical hard disk using diskpart (use
    clean command)
    5. Enable the spaceport driver (sc config spaceport start= boot) and reboot
    6. Now you can add the affected hard disk yet again
    7. At this point - the affected hard disk is listed twice - one in the 'Retired' state, the other is 'Healthy'.
    8. Initiate the repair of the affected mirror virtual disks, and wait for completion
    9. Now you can delete the 'Retired' disk.
All that said, it would be great to have an option to un-retire a hard disk in place, without going through all that hassle.
Set-PhysicalDisk -UniqueID id -Usage AutoSelect does not really work (the disk becomes Retired again when starting repair).
Remove-PhysicalDisk also fails with 'Not supported' error (unless you do the above workaround).
    Thank you.

I designed a website in iweb, posted to a godaddy domain.  Still available online.

    Thanks!

iWeb stores its assets in the domain.sites2 file in :

If that file is missing and you haven't a backup of that file, you'll have to start from scratch.
Your problem is not unique. Search this forum for :
