Controller setup

I currently have two systems which I am setting up:
1) Single Chassis VXI system with VXIpc-870 controller
2) Dual Chassis VXI System with VXIpc-870 controller and
VXI_MXI-2 extender boards
In the dual system i need to DISABLE the VXI Bus Timeout and let the MXI
extender control the VXI Bus timeout. On the single chassis system, I
assume I still need to set this timeout to a value on the controller
(otherwise i could be waiting indefinitely if the system tries to access
an invalid address).
For our costumer, I am creating a bootable OS CD to load the system. I
would like to have the controllers initialized properly. I could not
find any config file for this option, it looks like it is all in
hardware. Is there a way at system
bootup(?) to initialze the
controller with a preset state? Or write a simple VISA program to set
this myself?
There are a few other things that need to be setup with the controller,
but these are common between the systems and it looks like there are
fields within the DevInfo to change these.
any info would be greatly appreciated.

I do not need to setup the MXI-2 extender boards. They will be
pre-configured before installation. They will be hardwired with any needed
mods for our system.
The controller on the other hand, will need some adjusting depending on
which chassis environment the controller is placed. On the dual system, the
870 bus timeout will be disabled. For the single chassis, the 870 bus
timeout can remain the default.
We are creating an image CD of the OS for installation purposes. This will
have the OS environment suited for our customer, with all necessary drivers
and software loaded. We are hoping to have one installation disc for the
OS.
What I am looking for is a way to configure the 870 AT INSTALLATION TIME
with the proper bus timeout for the chassis system. This needs to be an
AUTOMATED process. With the hardware config info saved to a file, is there
a "batch mode" to write it back out to the controller without going back
through the user interface of the T&M Explorer?
Can the bus timeout be changed from a user program? This would allow a
post-install program to run and change the system as needed.
thanks for the help,
Michael Carter

  • Controller setup-losing communication

I'm using a Yamaha DM1000 as my mixer and control surface. I'm using it's USB output. It constantly loses communication with Logic and I get the annoying "please power cycle" error message. I've tried disabling the active sensing in the controller setup page, but that doesn't seem to fix the problem.
Anyone else have similar trouble using a controller?
I also have a Frontier Transport that uses USB, and I don't get this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks

    Well ^($#(@!!!
I thought swapping the usb port took care of this but I'm still get the "lost communication" error!!
There are some active sensing options in the controller setup pages. Anyone know how to disable the constant checking.
This is really frustrating Sometimes it seems to lose communication when I switch apps, but sometimes it just does it on it's own.
When it's working, it works great so I don't think it's a setup issue as much as a Logic or systemwide usb active sensing issue.

how do i delete in Logic Pro X a mixer setup?
i chose by mistake a wrong controller out now i cant delete it and when i want to put the right one in it says the controller is already in the list.

    Please Help

LPX resides after instal in the Application folder and should also be available in the Dock. If this is not the case then something has gone wrong during the download, you'll have to try again or contact Apple if the problem persists!

  • ISE on Integrated Management controller - setup

    Hi all,
I just got my 2 x 3415 controllers. It's running the Integrated Management controller - when connecting via the KVM console i get a login screen
    ise-server-1 login:
Now form what I saw it does not have a default password - that's done while in setup mode. I took the servers out of the box directly from Cisco.
Does anyone know the password recovery / or have any suggestions on how to get past that - or force it to run the setup for ise on the
    Integrated Management controller?

Document did help, however - something else. When they explain how to do a iso -> usb. Mine kept on failing.
First tried the Linux version - then windown.
Finnaly I just coppied the file to a usb and did a vmount via my laptop - and installed ise that way.
Now time for the configuration. -

  • Controller setup Roland A800Pro

    Hi
    I'm using Logic Pro 9.1.8 on a late iMac 2009 21inch
I recently brought a Roland A 800 Pro midi controller and have installed the driver and the control surface setup software. The keyboard plays notes on a softsynth, so midi is getting through into logic. However the transport buttons on the A800 Pro does not work.  I have been able to assign Key Commands and get the transport to operate, but when I turn off the A800Pro at the end of a session and turn it back on the next day. I get the same problem all over again. That is, the transport does not work, but the keyboard can play notes on a softsynth in Logic.
    Would really appreciate any feedback.
    Thanks guys.

  • Domain Controller Setup

I work for a small utility company, and our General Manager has requested that I setup a domain environment.  I have two servers, both will be running Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard.  We will not be running Exchange. I have never done this
before, so I just wanted to ask the pros out there a few questions.
My first question is, how should I RAID the two servers?  What partitions need to be created for a smooth running environment?  Also, should my second server be the file/printer sharing server?  I'm am searching the web looking for information
too, so any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

    hi wbppd,
please find this technet article I think it will help you in installing domain :
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/22622.building-your-first-domain-controller-on-2012-r2.aspx
also this video will help you:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50VhoeG_6rY#aid=P-dMJtBrsxE
regarding the RAID configuration most of Administrators preferred to use RAID1 in DCs but no problem in using any other RAID configuration.
regarding your 2nd server, it is recommended to have at least two domain controllers in your domain, so if it will be DC it is not recommended to be used in file/printer server, but it is doable

  • Basic questions on migrating from a controller-less setup to a 2504 controller setup

    Hello,
I am new to Cisco networking so forgive me for my basic questions. Currently our company uses a controller-less setup with 2 WAP321's and 1 Cisco controller-less 2602e WAP.  I am told I can reflash the Aironet 2602e to be used with the controller.  My first question is, if I mount the controller and network it into my network to set it up, will it effect my current environment? I don't want a situation where I take down the current environment.  If it will not harm my current wifi network then, should I be able to configure the controller fully and associate my new WAP Cisco Aironet 2602e to it without effecting the current environment?  Thank you!

    There will be no problem.
connect AP to switch and place it same place where it was to cover the same area.
Make sure that 2602 AP need minimum 7.2.100.0 version on WLC.

  • Controller setup question.

    Hello everyone,
Just wanted to say, "this is a great forum".
I have been using logic pro for 1 year....I feel I have a very good grasp, but somethings I haven't figured out.
How do I assign drum sounds to the pads on my Kontrol49?
I read everything I could....and this is the one thing that is truly bugging me...can't figure it out.
    Thanks,
    C.

Well, generally speaking, you don't - the pads just send out specific note numbers via MIDI.
What the notes will trigger at the other end is entirely dependent on how you set things up. If you load an EXS24 with a bunch of drum samples, then the notes will trigger that.
If you want the pad thing to send different notes, consult it's manual as to how you change the note values each pad gives out, or, with a little environment knowledge, you can use Logic to remap the notes, but it's easier to just use the pad thing to do this for now if you're not too comfortable with Logic yet.

  • %PROGRAMFILES(x86)%\Common Files\microsoft shared\OFFICE15\Office Setup Controller missing setup.exe

Hello everyone.  I'm told that I can run a repair of Office 2013 via the following command line pointing to a repair config xml we made and placed on a server.  Only problem is that my machines don't have a setup.exe in that path.  Did the
path where setup.exe is located change or something?
    %PROGRAMFILES(x86)%\Common Files\microsoft shared\OFFICE15\Office Setup Controller\setup.exe /repair ProPlus /config \\server\share\RepairConfig.xml

Is your Office a Click-To-Run version or a MSI (traditional) version? If it’s a MSI version, setup.exe should be there. If it’s a Click-To-Run version, then you should not find any file called setup.exe there in that path.
For Click-To-Run version of Office, you should run the Office Deployment Tool and provide a custom Configuration.xml configuration file. The Office Deployment Tool performs the tasks that are specified by using the optional properties in
the configuration file. For details about Office Deployment Tool for Click-to-Run, please refer to this article:

  • Controller connectivity fluctuates

    Hi,
One of our subsidaries have a anchor controller setup. They have main controllers and second controller which anchors to the main controller to tunnel the traffic.
They are seeing, frequent disconnections on the second controller. logs as below are seen.
Controller '192.160.51.5'. An anchor of WLAN 'nolwl' is up.
11:01:50 2013 Data path to mobility member 192.160.101.11 is down.
11:01:50 2013 Data path to mobility member 192.160.101.12 is down.
11:01:50 2013 Data path to mobility member 192.160.51.5 is down.
11:01:18 2013 RX Multicast Queue Full
11:03:02 2013 Data path to mobility member 192.160.101.12 is up.
everytime down messages come immediately after queue message. controller is not having any configuration for multicast.
    appreciate all help.

Here is the latest from TAC on my issue:
Thank you very much for all the provided information.
From the logs we can see that only the control path goes down, that means UDP port 16666. Data path IP 97 is always up.
The controller sends keepalives, epings (for IP 97) and mpings (UDP 16666) to the different mobility members. By default and this is the way your WLCs are configured, the Mobility Keepalive interval is set to 10 seconds , this is the amount of time between each ping request, then the Mobility Keepalive count, which is the number of times a ping request is sent to a mobility list member before it is considered unreachable,  which is 3.
So, if a mobility member cannot be reached 3 times on 10 seconds periods then it is considered to be down. We can see from the logs that it takes over 30 second for a mobility member ip to get the control path to be reported as up and then down.
We need to confirm if this a problem in the path (firewall, ACL, etc) or a problem with the controller software.
Please get CLI access to a foreign and the anchor as well, make sure that these are controllers that are constantly reported as down and start doing “mping ” between them, if at some point you get no response then we know for sure that there is problem somewhere in the path by a device dropping the packets.
You can also enable and capture “debug mobility keep-alive enable ”, please forward the output from both controllers to me. The IP address must be the address of the mobility peer.
I will be looking forward for your reply.

  • Creating a new Controller

Is it possible to create a controller, like the ones already native to Logic (such as the Korg Kontrol49)? I'm trying to add my Axiom 49 and and having a great deal of trouble trying to get it to work correctly.
    Symptoms:
    1. None of the buttons, faders, knobs, or wheels are being received by Logic. They all seem to be sending according to the controller's screen.
NOTE: The keyboard is working just fine.
    2. Last night I had a few of the faders assigned but Logic is no longer receiving input by them.
    3. Because of the way Logic interacts with this, I can't even identify which ports its using. If there's an easy way to tell this, let me know.
I'd like to create a controller setup that acts natively like the Korg or any of the others. If not, how do I add a non-recognized controller? The only thing Logic appears to allow is to use one from their list. There isn't a "generic controller" that I can find for a non-supported one. If I can get the buttons to receive, I've figured out how to "learn" them.
    Thanks in advance. I'm stumped.

I think the best way to get an Axiom working with Logic (I have the Axiom 49) is to use a mix of Logic programming and Axiom programming. I haven't messed with changing my Axiom yet, but I had the same problem you had with faders working on day and then not the next. I ended up putting my Axiom on program 20 and always switching off of and back onto that preset at the beginning of a session. Then I set up Logic with preset 20 set on the Axiom, so I know that when I'm on preset 20, Logic gets the signals I used to set it up with. For some reason I think the Axiom changes the patch on its own, or defaults to say, preset 1 when you turn it on.
The only problems I've had are that certain buttons (like the one under the far right fader) don't respond to anything when in preset 20. This is why I say, the BEST way to get the Axiom to work with Logic would be to do some messing in the Axiom setup software and actually create a preset that you KNOW does what you need on every button and slider, then program logic while using that preset, then ALWAYS use that preset. This is something I'm going to be doing soon, if just so I can get the full benefit of the Axiom with Logic.

  • Install Domain Controller, Active Directory, RemoteApps on Single Server?

Have a server that I want to experiment with RemoteApps.   Documentation I have read state you need to have a Domain Controller setup with AD on one server, and have a second server to install all the RemoteApps requirements. Is this true or can
this all be done on one server.
If I need a separate server for the Domain Controller and Active Directory, can I assume that a low end server would be sufficient?  Or would using Hyper-V with a single hardware server and create two virtual machines: one as the DC/AD, and the other
to run Remote Apps be a possible solution.  Any advice?

it really depends to be honest. I'd probably go something like this though:
One Small physical server to act as a domain controller - you could put DHCP on this too
One or Two physical, quite powerful servers to act as Hyper-V hosts - these can be domain joined.
Then for your VM's create the following:
    1 x additional domain controller
    For remote desktop services:
1 x Remote Desktop Session Host
    1 x Connection Broker
1 x Gateway and web server
    For additional services
    1 or 2 x Exchange
    1 x sharepoint
    1 x IIS
but it really depends what you want to achieve.
The benefit from Virtual machines is that you can keep separate virtual servers for separate applications.
If you have two hosts you could then replicate the virtual machines between them if you wanted some layer of fault tolerance.
Hope this helps you a bit more. And thanks for positive blog feedback - its appreciated.

  • How to reset Windows 2008 R2 Domain Controller "Administrator" password?

    Hello Everyone,
I have lost Administrator password for the following system:
    Windows 2008 R2
Domain Controller setup on same machine
Stand alone server - no workstations or other servers invovled
I still have the "Directory Service Restore Password" but I don't think that helps me for lost Administrator password. I beleive I need to boot from an .iso file to gain access. I already tried "Offline NT Password & Registery Editor" and it has set
Administrator password to (blank) but that is not allowing me access as it seems that I have to login to domain controller Administrator. So, how can I reset that password?
    Thanks

It wasn't difficult to reset the domain password and I think Microsoft's policy of not providing an easy forward way is to create an
illusion of security which is not there. Linux systems that are much more secure that MSFT software allow easy password reset when physical access is there so why not include the same tools in System Repair tools or using F8?
Anyhow, this guide helped me reset the password in 5 minutes. Read the bottom of it to find the scripted / automatic version of the process:

  • RAID 0+1 using Promise 378 Controller

I'm having trouble installing two SATA drives in my system and the problem is driving me nuts
I have two existing PATA drives on the Promise controller configured as a RAID0 array, which is working fine with XP SP2.  I want to add the two SATA drives (Seagate Barracuda 200Gb SATAs) to the array and configure it to sripe across like drives and mirror across the dissimilar drives.  So the two PATA drives are striped and that striped array is mirrored across to the striped pair of SATA drives.
The manuals all state that it's possible to configure the promise controller for 0+1 (which is what I think I need, but when I power up the PC with the SATA drives connected to SER3 & 4, the promise controller doesn't recognise them when configured in bios "as raid".  It sees the drives when the controller is configured "as sata", but then the raid bios is bypassed at POST and obviously the boot doesn't happen.
So my question is, am I missing something with the Promise Controller setup, or does the bios version I have not support Raid 0+1.  I guess I need an option that says "as sata with raid", which isn't there.  Which BIOS version do I need to do this?  or is it something else?
Am I being dumb or do I have to delete everything and start again using the intel ICH5R controller?
The two recordable drives are connected as primaries on the two non-raid IDE controllers.
I'm new here, so any help anyone can lend a hand would be greatly appreciated
    Cheers
    Tony

    Hi Danny,
Yes, I did read it, but it did not address my particular situation - i.e. all four drives connected to the promise controller.  The bits that do seemed to be saying "look at the manual", which isn't helping me.  Last night, I updated the mainboard bios to 2.4, which didn't make any difference, so I'm still stuck.
Thanks for taking the time to reply
