Controller volume fader changes all fader levels

Hi,
I'm using an M-Audio KeyRig 49 controller.
I set up a whole concert and it worked fine. I set up the keyboard's only fader to control the master volume. But now whenever I touch the keyboard's fader to adjust the master volume each channel's level jumps to the fader level - throwing off all my levels.
I'm new to MainStage (and Logic). How do I separate them so the volume fader only controls the master volume and I can set the channel levels once and leave them?
I have to have it up and running by this weekend.
Thanks!

I may have answered my own question.  Seems that when I record with the master fader on a lower level the problem is resolved.

    I have adobe Premiere Elements 13. It will not let me delete audio or have it fade in or out. I can move the yellow line all the way down till the volume reads -0.0, but the sound is still there on playback. I can click on fade in and fade out and the yellow line that graphs volume takes a sharp raise or dip at the beginning or end of the clip, but there is no change in volume when I play back. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks for the reply. Great news about the volume adjusts.
    Now about those fades for the volume. How are you doing that?
    1. Right click the Timeline video audio and select Fade and then
    see the Fade options (I had a video with audio file, so I saw the choices as shown in the screenshot)
    2. You can also create two volume keyframes at each end of the Timeline audio clip rubberband (orange line that goes horizontally across the middle of the audio clip). At the position of the Timeline Indicator, click the Add/Remove Keyframe icon, and then with the mouse cursor position the white dots (volume keyframes) to achieve the Fade In and Fade Out audio. In the screenshot below I have moved the Timeline Indicator so that you could better see the white dots (volume keyframes).
    Please let us know if any of the above works for you with regard to the audio fades.
    Thank you.

  • How do I gang automation? ie. I need to reduce the volume on the master fader, so I need to reduce the volume of all my faders ( ideally simultaneously.)

    How do I gang automation? ie. I need to reduce the volume on the master fader, so I need to reduce the volume on all my faders (ideally simultaneously.)

    Open the Mixer, select all the faders at once and lower 1 of them. the others will follow proportionally.
    Or you can just put a gain plugin in the master output and lowerr the gain coming to the masterfader.

  • How to do fade from one db level to another?

    I have been using Audition for years, and I cannot figure out how to do something in Audition CS 5.5 that ought to be simple.  In my waveform editor, I want to be able to select an area of audio and adjust it's gain over time.  For example, fade the level from 0 db to 15 db.  In Audition 1.5 and 3.0, this was simple.  Select your audio range, choose the "amplify/fade" effect, click on the "fade" tab and enter your db values.  But I am going BONKERS trying to figure out how to do this in Audition CS 5.5!  Can anyone help me?  The amplify effect does not do fades.  And the Volume Envelope effect only does full fade out and fade in.

    No, the Volume Envelope effect in the Waveform Edit view can do anything you want. When you open the effect a yellow line appears on the selected bit of audio, usually just a straight line at the top of the waveform. You can then click on the yellow line to place keyframes wherever you want and drag them up and down to the level that you want.
    OK not so simple as the previous versions but much more versatile. You can draw any curve you want or even do amplitude modulation as with the 'Tremors' preset.
    You are lucky that I still just happened to have CS 5.5 loaded on my laptop so that I could check for you. Since it is only Win 7 32bit capable, I can't have anything newer than Audition CS 6 installed.

  • PM: change all Orders from sub-operation to operation level

    Hi Folks,
    I've a requirement to change all PM-Orders from Operation-SubOperation to only Operation Level.
    Example:
    Op SubOp --> New Op   (no subOp)
    10__10__-->____10
    10__11__-->____11
    10__12__-->____12
    10__13__-->____13
    10__14__-->____14
    20__10__-->____20
    20__11__-->____21
    Does someone here know, how I can make do this in an easy and save way?
    The only way I see is to make an own report with calling BAPI BAPI_ALM_ORDER_MAINTAIN.
    Have someone another solution
    - SAP-Standard-Report?
    - LSMW?
    Regards

    Hi Raghu,
    Many Thanks for your quick reply.
    Okay ... no LSMW.
    And also no Standard-Reports?
    Do you think, making my own program is the best way?
    Regards,

  • Change all the SoftWare RAID partitions to the VLM (physical volume)

    My PC has a RHEL5.0 system and other 4 partitions(Software RAID type). Now I want to change all the SoftWare RAID partitions to the VLM (physical volume) partition and I do not want to reinstall the RHEL5.0 system.
    How to do it?
    Can fdisk tool work? Which tool is easy?

    Hans,
    I am using ASMLib and no raw partitions. All the
    partions must be separated partitions without being
    mounted by any system.For the partitions to be used by ASMLib the partition must still be known to the machine.
    From the ASMLib pages:
    "Every disk that ASMLib is going to be accessing needs to be made available. This is accomplished by creating an ASM disk. The /etc/init.d/oracleasm script is again used for this task: "

  • Changing OSX default volume setting to a higher level in sound preferences

    When I change the default volume setting to a higher level in sound preferences within OSX, it is back at the lower level at the next listening session the following time I use iTunes on my Mac Mini. Within System Preferences there is a section that lets you "choose a device for sound output" but the only choice I have is "line-out" and under the "port" heading there is only "built-in output"--no other choices are shown. I have external speakers attached which I like to use for listening to music as I work. What is the problem? Why won't the higher volume I set remain? Also, shouldn't more than one choice be shown for sound output?

    This sounds like the problem that I'm experiencing and <a href-"http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=2694517#2694517">aske d about a couple of days ago. The sound level resets to 50% after shutdown.
    I tried setting the levels in Audio MIDI Set Up as suggested above, but that hasn't changed anything.
    In answer to B_web, I am running my external speakers through the headphone jack.
    So, any other suggestions?

  • I can haz fade-in, all the time, not sometimes 2x fade-out?

    I made this slide-show as a trial:
    http://mycodsolutions.com/postcards.html
    I as not too efficient at my lay-out, not knowing exactly what I wanted.  I know there are better ways to do this, but there it is.
    All thumbs are buttons, there are no 'states'.  I did each edit in a round, for example first adding the roll-over, then later doing the transitions.  When I got to the transitions:
    If one looks closely one will see that many photos do not properly fade-in.  There was not an option for these images!  Many had TWO fade-outs.  If I delete the offending photo, and re-import, I can do a fade-in.  However this is very annoying!  I am confused about why there is what appears to be an unintended effect.
    I was being careful about which transition I might touch, but honestly they are all buttons, so there is simply an over state (and 'down', similarly, copypastaed) defined.
    Any thoughts?

    Nice photos! With the structure as you outlined, you are just going to have to carefully look at each button and it's Rollover and Rollout interactions. Are you triggering the fade in and fade outs using action sequences? The only advice I can give it to walk through it again to see if you can spot the differences between the working ones and the non-working ones.

  • Global volume control for all sounds in a swf

    Does anyone know of a way to adjust the volume of all the sounds in a swf?  I'm looking to build a volume controller that changes the audio level of the swf.
    Thanks!

    I used:
    SoundMixer.soundTransform = new SoundTransform(0);
    and that mutes all sounds in my swf.

  • Can I "BATCH"/"Change All" Values of an Event Type in Logic 8

    NOTE: This is my first leap into Logic, so please be gentle and tolerant of my lack of knowledge. I have been using Garageband since v1 and am know on '09 with all the Jam Packs.
    I recently got Logic 8 for my G5 Quad to edit MIDI Files (mostly commercially produced files) and refine my GB projects.
    Sometimes the MIDI programmers use variable volume (Control 7) instead of expression (control 11) to add swells to instruments, which makes it difficult to balance the instrument levels in logic/garageband as software instruments do not have the same level balance a standard MIDI values.
    I can manually edit each volume event and change it to expression, but this is very time consuming, especially for instruments like a pedal steel that may have thousands of volume events in the track.
    What I am hoping is that I can select a range of events between bars (highlighting everything in the range) and be able to change only the Control 7 events to Control 11 events without changing any other type of event.
    Is this possible in Logic 8? If not, might there be another utility that I can use that will do this?
    I suppose, if no other option is available, I could adjust the generator's volume, but that isn't as convenient or interactive as being able to use track volume to set a master level and use expression to control swells.
    Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    TIA

    Brilliant!!
    How did you find the command? It is NOT listed in the Keyboard commands.
    Also, would you know how to change the velocities in a similar fashion? i.e. A guitar track may have velocities exceeding 120, which with the Steel String Acoustic Guitar, results in a slide to the target note. I would like to change ALL velocities over 120 to 115, or reduce values over 120 by 8 to reduce them below 120.
    The find similar/exact seems to go after the note values and does not consider velocity.
    Many years ago, I used a PC app called Power Tracks (part of Band-in-the-Box suite) and I could define a range of values and reduce them by amount or percentage. Very light weight (resource wise), but extremely power app.
    TIA

  • Change in Voice Level (Increase)

    I had to edit an existing file created with v2. I renarrated
    some captions using v3 and changed some backgrounds. The
    environment was exactly the same, and headset was the same. Yet
    when I play it. The sound is very loud. Even with the volumn turned
    all the way down.

    Unfortunately, it is not possible that the environment "
    was exactly the same". A change in the humidity in the room
    will affect the ambient air and that will change the record level.
    From day to day and hour to hour we are more or less tired, more or
    less alert, more or less patient and so on. Any of those things can
    affect the volume at which we speak - without us recognizing the
    difference in our own voice volume or pitch, etc..
    If you only edited a small number of slides, you could edit
    the audio on those slides, decreasing the volume on each. With the
    slide open in EDIT view, double-click the audio on the time-line to
    open audio Properties. Then press the keyboard shortcut CTRL+A to
    select all the audio on the waveform. Finally, click "Adjust
    Volume" to lower the volume on the entire waveform.
    A more likely scenario - and perhaps a better approach if you
    have a larger number of slide audio files to be changed, or if the
    need for matching volume on all slides is mission critical - is to
    export all audio, open it in an audio editor, and normalize it
    before returning it to Captivate. This could be a lot of work for
    you, but may be your only alternative.
    Good luck!

  • How do I add volume and change mount point of groups?

    how do you add an external volume and change the mount point for users and groups?

    There are no volume automation curves in the iPad version of GarageBand, but you can add a fade-out:
    http://help.apple.com/garageband/ipad/2.0/index.html#chs2a762fad
    Add a fade-out
    You can add an automatic fade-out to the end of a song. When you turn on Fade Out, the last ten seconds of the song fade to silence. If you extend the last section by adding or moving regions, the fade-out adjusts to the new end of the song. You hear the fade-out when you play or share the song, but not while recording.
    Open the song settings.
    Turn Fade Out on.
    Tap Fade Out again to turn off the automatic fade-out.

  • Any way to automate text opacity fade in and fade out?

    I am doing a lot of text subtitles, and for each subtitle, I take a text slug, type in the text, then at the beginning of the clip I make the opacity zero, then a second in I increase the opacity to 100%, then I apply "Smooth" to each point and then do the opposite on the tail end.
    Is there anyway to automate the fade in and fade out of opacity so that I can save myself a ton of time?
    Thanks so much.
    Charles

    Several ways to do it:
    • Set the Opacity changes to one clip; copy the clip then Paste Attributes->Opacity to the other clips at one time.
    • Use a Fade In Fade Out transition as the default transition and apply to all selected clips at the same time.
    • Use a filter like Digital Heaven's DH Fade and apply to all clips (Paste Attributes->Filters.
    -DH
