Controlling a Mac on a LAN, via a web browser (Java)

Anyone have luck doing this? I've tried Safari and Firefox, both just show a version # when I hit http://10.x.x.x:5900. Also tried it from a PC using Internet Exploder.
Pop-up blocking is disabled as well.
Apple states this is possible, but I don't see much in the ARD manual about using Java viewers.

As stated on the page you linked to...yes it's possible...with VNC client/server packages, not ARD.

It seems that we could use Internet Explorer to open a local .PDF file if it has the Adobe Reader. I doubt that the web control would be related to it. Like the MVP's suggset in the following thread, maybe it would be related
to certain plug-in tools in your side like the adober reader.

As a new security measure Apple are sending emails whenever you (or anyone) signs into your iCloud account. They come from [email protected] and take this form:
Dear Roger Wilmut,

If you recently signed in to iCloud.com, you can disregard this email.

Note that they address you by name, and that the links (which you can check in Mail by hovering the mouse over them) are to the legitimate sites. Fake emails usually don't address you by name, and more particularly the 'reset' links are to obviously non-Apple addresses. In any event you should as a matter of course go to appleid.apple.com by entering it in a browser, not following links in emails. However as long as the emails look like the example here they are legitimate. Whether they are indeed a useful security facility is open to some argument.

How to suppress the above error? I tried using WebBrowser.ScriptErrorsSuppressed by setting it to true. But it didn't work for me.

Mac get real slow after using web browser for awhile

Using internet does not matter what which web browser I use after just minutes especially playing the browser runs extremy slow. I have 15" and 17" 4 gig memory on both macs and they both do the same thing, do not think it is the internet I get about 10 mg rate

Sorry, didn't want to post verbose instructions if they weren't needed. Let's go one by one:
Is he getting all the right IP information - IP/mask/gateway/DNS?
Go to a command prompt (Start/run, type CMD then Enter). Then type IPCONFIG then Enter. This will give you everything except DNS. Run IPCONFIG /ALL. Note the DNS server(s). Compare this output with your Mac (System Preferences/Network).
If so, from Terminal, ping the gateway, then DNS, then yahoo.com. Where/when does it fail? If it fails at yahoo.com, does it resolve the name to the IP address?
Whoops, my bad, Terminal is Mac. From the command prompt you're hopefully still in (if not, run CMD again), ping the default gateway listed in the IPCONFIG output from above (type PING followed by gateway address; looks like #.#.#.#) Successful? If so, ping DNS server from IPCONFIG /ALL output. Successful? If so, ping yahoo.com. First, does it resolve yahoo.com to an actual address (i.e. 68.180.206.184)? Do you get replies, or does it timeout?

WLC2106 access via my web browser doesn't work

Pls can someone help. I cannot use my browser to access a wireless lan controller-2106 so i can complete configuration.
I have entered the initial configs at startup via console with the wizard.
I am running vista, i have made sure my PC is on the same subnet as the management IP. I can even ping the controller but when i ping my PC from the controller, it doesn't get through. I have also tried using windows XP. Or is GUI not possible on this platform?

Its ok now sorry, my mistake. I used a different port to connect to the device which is different from the management i/face port num i set initially.

MAC with WRT54GC is sluggish when web browsing

So I recently setup the WRT54GC router with a very strong wireless signal. The problem I am having is that when I am connected to the internet via wireless it takes a lot of time to load web pages on the MAC but with Windows desktop and laptop they browse the web very quickly with no issues. The signal is very strong to the MAC computer and never drops its connection. I am just wondering if there are a few things I must do to configure the router so that the MAC works correctly.

On your MAC computer check the IP address, and make sure you are getting an Valid IP address from your Router? When you Hardwired your MAC computer to the Router are you facing the same problem or it works fine?
If you have any different browser Installed on your computer, you can try using that Browser and check if you are able to Browse Internet.

AAA authentication when logging into the router via the web browser

How do I move files into folders in Pages? I can't seem to drag and drop anymore, except via my web browser in iCloud.

Before the Yosemite update. I'm pretty sure I could just drag and drop documents in and out of folders. Now, I can't seem to do that, though the option still exists if i log into iCloud in my browser or even my iOS device. This seems odd to me. Am I missing something?

Where did you recall doing this?
Essentially all file movement is done in Finder, not Pages.

On my Mac: embedded wmv files crash my web browser

Every now and then I'll click a video link to an embedded wmv file and watch either Firefox or Safari abruptly exit. There is no warning, or even an error report prompt. Any ideas as to what's going on?

Do you have Flip4Mac installed?
I've had an issue in Safari, but not Firefox, whereby the browser freezes, and I have to force quit it.
I am not sure if this will help, but, if you do have F4M installed, it's worth considering. F4M has a utility application on the page HERE, and a Read Me about it HERE.
If you find that works, post back with your results. If you don't have F4M, get it and see if that solves your problem.

Problems with accessing Cisco Unity 4.2 Build 4.2(1) from a remote computer via a web browser

In my "Cisco Unity 4.2 Build 4.2(1)" installation, I can log-in to the cunity1 server (the server with the Cisco Unity 4.2.(1) installed), and on the server, I can open the web-page: http://cunity1/Web/SA/Default.htm, this page opens the page: http://cunity1/Web/SA/FrameASP/StartFrame.asp?CookieCheck=1.
This page I use to administrate the voicemails.
When I try to open this web page on my client computer (Internet Explorer 7.0), I get the following error message:

For some reason, /web/global.asa did not fire.
Check that this file is present.
This problem could also be related to DNS issues.

Have you tried registering the DLLs mentioned? Can you ping cunity1? Does it resolve to the correct IP address? Can you access the Unity SA by using the IP address instead of the hostname? See the following link for SA Web troubleshooting steps.

I’m not so sure that using VNC or remote desktop to have
multiple users control LabVIEW is really in-line with our license policy. I suppose if you built your program into an executable
and had the VNC users access the exe program they wouldn't really be using the development
environment so I suppose this would be ok…

Calendar entry times entered via web browser change to 2 hours later on my Iphone

Why do the event times entered via my web browser into iCalendar change to 2 hours later when viewed on my iPhone?
The settings for date, time and time zone are correct on my Windows 8 laptop and on my iPhone.

Some things to check:
Go to icloud.com, sign into your iCloud account, click your name at the top and choose Account Settings, click Time Zone and be sure it shows the correct time zone and that you have selected a city near you. Then open your calendar on icloud.com, click the gear-shaped icon on the bottom left and choose Preferences, click the Advanced tab and make sure you have not checked time zone support at the top.
On your iOS devices, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Time Zone Support (in the Calendars section) and make sure this is set to Off. On your Mac, open the Calendar app and to to Mail>Preferences>Advances and uncheck “Turn on time zone support”.

WRT 1900AC no longer manageable via web browser?

I suspect this is an artifact of recent security upgrades in MSIE and Firefox, or Norton Internet Security, but I have not figured it out yet. Here are the symptoms:
1). I have a stable home network environment which I normally do not change.
2). I use Comcast as my ISP and they provide Norton Internet Security which habitually complains about a "certificate" issue when I try to access my router via a web browser (I have MSIE 11 x64, Firefox, and Chrome...
3) I can log into the router locally using the password I have assigned to it sometimes...
4) No matter what I try, the Speed Test page no longer loads completely. I can use an Android version of the same software via the router, but I want the stats directly from the connection between the Cable Modem and the Router, not a wireless based approximantion of the performance numbers.
Has there been a BIOS upgrade to my router that did not self-install? I registered everything and can log into Linksys suppor no problems., but right now, none of my browsers will even let me log into the Linksys web page at 192.168.1.1./...the way they used to.
Obviously, some of this could be a trainsient issue with the Speed Test web site, and/or the Linksys web pages but...Is there any help out there?

What version of FF are you using?
Try IE with compatibility mode to test again?
Was a Factory Reset performed before and after any firmware updates then set up from scratch using IE or FF?
To safely update FW, I recommend doing the following: Download the FW file from the support site first.
Disable the auto update feature on the router.
1. Save router config to file first using IE or FF with all security add-ons disabled.
2. Factory reset the router with all other devices disconnected or turned OFF accept for 1 wired PC.

3. Reload or Update the FW using IE or FF. Just download the FW file to your local wired LAN PC.

4. Factory reset the router and then set up from scratch first using the local log in link and test with out loading the saved config from file.
