Controlling time for imported numbered stills

I was recently importing numbered stills and it seems that Premiere is using the Preferences Setting "Still Image Default Duration" for the entire clip of stills, rather than for each individual still. Is there any way to change this other than to edit the duration on the time line?
Search didn't turn up this issue. Thanks.

No, that setting has no affect on importing numbered stills. Doing the latter causes each still to be one frame in the project's frame rate.

Hello all,
Is there an easy way to change the default duration time for imported still images?
I have thousands of images that I want to import to make a time elapsed movie. I would like for these images to have a duration of less than a second. I could do this individually, but it would take forever.
Can the default duration time for imported images be changed?

Too long time I made anything serious in iMovie HD6 (altough a a very competent editor)
(Took the FinalCut leap)
As I remember (just tested) it - if photos are imported then it's a tedious labor
to set duration - one at a time. No global function I can induce.
BUT - I would put my photos into a separate folder in iPhoto so that they are easy
to get in iMovie from audio/photo browser.
Then I select (in iMovie) the first photo and double click on it to view it on canvas.
Now I also get a small gray window where I can set size and duration.
I select 01:00 (1 sec) in duration and Apply/Use.
Then I selec the rest of the photos and drag them down to TimeLine after first
photo. And they also get same duration of 01:00.

Time for importing the framework

Hi,
I am imporing the sap frame work to identity center.
However it is taking lot of time for importing, the application is showing the message as import in progress, but this is going on for almost 3hrs.
Is this is the normal long running process?
Do I have any other way to check the import status?
Please help.

Finding out time for importing a transport

Hello,
I want to find the time taken by a transport to be imported to a system.
It can be done through the logs, but in this case, I have a huge list of TRs.
Is there an option in SAP where I can find out the time for importing each TR?

Hi,
U can see this in STMS
Go to STMS->Overview->Import overview->Select the queue where u want to see->Double click on it u can see the requests->
Double click on the request u want->there select the request and click on transport logs icon on top

Specify size and position for imported frames?

I have a video job mimicking a split-screen effect, with a conference presenter on the right side of the screen and imported stills from their powerpoint presentation on the other. When the presenter advances to a new slide, I have to find that slide and drop it in. In order to do this, each time I import a still, I have to:
- right click on Show Properties
- click the Motion twistie
- change the position to 494/240
- change the scale to 71%.
No big deal, right? But I have literally hundreds upon hundreds of these stills. And with each still, the Motion field closes back up, so I have to click the twistie again. I'm doing this for a two day conference with maybe a dozen presenters, and am having to literally wade through thousands of stills.
I've tried importing the stills and selecting more than one, but then Show Properties is grayed out.
Is there any way to tell PE7 that imported stills should be at 71% and should be in the position I need? It would save me a heckuva lot of time.

There are basically two ways to do this.
1.) Resize all images in Photoshop/PSE to meet your needs and then Import them into PrE.
2.) Resize one image in the Timeline, Rt-click and choose Copy, then Select all still images and Rt-click, choosing Paste Attributes. This is easier if all stills are one the same Video Track - you just "lasso" them with the cursor.
I like #1, as PS has better resizing algorithms and controls, than does PrE, in my tests.

Numbered Stills won't preview with Blackmagic Intensity Pro in CS5

I am an animator and I import numbered stills (jpeg) into Premiere. In CS3 I would drag the sequence on to the timeline and then hit "enter" and the animation would render a preview. In CS5 the preview won't render. Instead of a red bar or green bar, there is just a gray bar and the animation plays back very choppy.
I am pretty sure this is because I am using Blackmagic Intensity Pro, but would love to know if there is a solution. The previews render when I choose a "DV" preset instead of "Blackmagic", but of course they don't show on my tv monitor then.
Has anyone come across this problem?

There have been quite some posts here about the BM Intensity, but denying it is not uncommon in this business. Look at Dell that refuses to admit that about 12 million of their systems are suffering from faulty, leaking capacitors and die quite often. My iTunes is telling me that the registry settings are missing for importing and burning cd's and dvd's and to reinstall. I do reinstall and it is still not there and I have at least 4 times.

HI i have tried so many times to import images, both pictures and video from my hard drive to elements 131, and it keeps coming up with the error message " .....has stopped working we are looking for a solution to this problem etc " please help!

After taking days to upload elements 13 I am now having trouble even trying to import my images and videos into the program for editing. Each time I IMPORT files an error message comes up that says " ....has stopped working, we are looking for a solution to the problem and will notify you if a solution is found" I have not been able to edit ANYTHING or even drag files/images to the time line.... is it me? is my computer too slow? surely if it was, then Adobe elements 13 would not have installed in the first place? please someone help me sort this out as I have a deadline to make for a docco! thanks in advance Lyddy

How to extend time on imported still

I imported a still I created in Photoshop. I want to extend the amount of time it lasts after I placed it on the timeline. I tried creating a still from it, but the quality suffered. Is there a way to stretch it while on the timeline? Thanks.

Go to the View menu and uncheck Show Clip Volume Levels. Then in timeline view put your cursor on the edge of the still clip. The cursor will morph into another shape. Drag the edge of the clip to the right or left to lenghten or shorten it.
Another way is to control click on the still clip, and in the drop down menu select Show Info. In the time box, change the duration to lengthen or shorten the clip.

Premiere Elements 8: import as numbered stills not working

System is an Alienware M17x running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.
I have a folder (tried this on multiple folders, actually) that only contains a series of PNG files, named Frame0000.png, Frame0001.png, and so on. When I follow the help instructions and import the first image in the sequence, and check the import as numbered stills box, PE8 still only imports the first image. I've tried this on multiple sequences, including BMP and JPG files to see if it was a PNG problem, and none of them work. The only way thus far I've found to import the whole sequence is to group-select them all manually and trust the time stamp sorting to keep them in order.
Is this a bug in PE8? Is there something missing in the process instructions that I'm not doing?

If, when you browse to the files, you hold down the Shift key and select the first and last in the series, Premiere Elements will import the entire set into your project at once. Since you have the sequence named numerically in the order you'd liked them to appear, they will appear in that order in the Project media panel.
Is this not what you're seeing?

Image date/time format for import naming

When naming images with the image date & time during import, it uses the format of YYYY-MM-DD HHMMSSAP
Is it possible to reconfigure this so
1) the space in between the date and time is gone
2) the hyphens in the date are gone
3) it uses 24 hour time not am/pm?
I didn't see anything in the preferences, nor did I see anything appropriate in the plist.
Unfortunately using that format and then exporting an image from it for the web leaves it with an ugly file name that needs manual editing - I hate seeing URLs with a %20 in them because of spaces in file names.

Although I agree that I would like more ability to customize the date and time format (Have you seen the renaming feature in Graphic Converter? It's great!), there is a quick workaround for at least eliminating the space in the name:
1. Open the name format editing window by selecting Edit from the name format pull-down.
2. Select Image Date/Time.
3. Look in the Format field. See how the two ellipses with Date and Time are separated by a little space? That's actually a space character and can be edited.
4. Put the cursor in that field and replace the space with whatever character you want (like _ for instance).
5. Now filenames will look like: 2006-04-03_121212PM which is a bit better.
6. And Aperture very cooly remembers this edit, so on the net import you only have to select Image Date/Time from the pull-down and you still have you edit.
Now, what I want to do is get rid of the -'s in the date and have the time be 24hour format. Sequential and unique names that are as short as possible!

Experimental advice ... but, plausibly, the preference files containing the parental control setting may be damaged. If so, removing the iTunes preference files may help.
For the basic technique, see the "Remove iTunes preference files" section from the "User-specific troubleshooting" section of the following document:

To see those folders, you'll need to first set your PC to view hidden files and folders
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
Click OK.
Prior to doing the preference file rebuilds: Best to make a note of any custom preferences you have set up for your iTunes. (Rebuilding pref files returns preferences to their defaults ... so you'll likely have to set some of those custom preferences up again from scratch.) Also make a note of any third-party plugins/add-ons you have installed. You may have to reinstall those after the rebuilds.
Things to watch out for during the rebuilds
Rebuilding the preference files in the \Local\ location causes the iTunes license agreement to run. So you'll need to agree to that again.
Rebuilding the preference files in the \Roaming\ location causes the iTunes Setup Assistant to run. When prompted to do so, do not add files to your iTunes library. (Otherwise you'll end up with a library full of duplicates.)

Have you checked lately to see how much free space there is on the disk? Especially since iPhoto freezes at launch ...
Click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage
Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.
And make sure the OS X software is up to date.
Click the Apple  top left in your screen.
From the drop down menu click: Software Update
If you have anti virus software installed or are using third party Mac cleaning utiliites, that may be part and parcel of the your problems.

You might have two different things going on at once here.
Starting with the registry settings message.
I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)
