Controlling which display Mail opens messages into

I am a teacher. When using an alternate display, Apple software in general, and Apple Mail specifically, tends to open in the alternate display. So if i am working on my regular display screen and showing something to my class on the alternate display screen, Mail opens the new message in the alternate display, over top of the movie or whatever the class is seeing.
There should be a preference to control this. At least Safari follows the pattern where is the current window.
Is there a fix?
Do Apple Mail software designers read this forum?

My apps no longer remember which display to open on. With Mountain Lion, once a window was set up on a particular display and the app was quitted, when reopening, it would be on the same display. Now they all seem to default to the primary display.

HTMLB control for displaying clientside error messages

I want to display client side validation error messages in a JSP DynPage.I have tried MessageBar but it can't be accessed from JavaScript file.Becuase of that i couldn't write error messages from .js file using MessageBar.Can U plz tell me is there any other HTMLB control or other way to display clientside error messages.

I have an idea to use message bar in client side.
1.First create a div at the begining of a page which is always visible.
2.create some hidden div tags which contains message bars with different error or information messages.
3. during the validation in javascript if u want to show error message just assign the content of hidden div tag
to visible div tag.Now u will get error message as like real message bar.
Then in javascript just write this code
document.getElementById('sample').innerHTML=document.getElementById('Error').innerHTML
where sample-->id of visible div
Error-->id of hidden div inside which u need to write the code for messagebar
this wiil show the error message at the place of visible div (sample).
<b>Note:</b>
If u want to change the messageBar text dynamically that can be possible only through server side only using bean to set and get error messages.
I am not able to give some sample coding since the code button throws some script error.

Apple Mail opens messages before log in

When I launch Apple Mail, several message windows open with message contents displayed; this is before I log in to the mail server. How can I make sure Mail waits for me to log in before it opens any message windows?

I think you mentioned some widget you downloaded that introduced a NEW button ?? That's what makes it normal for you, I fear.
Try this workaround:
select the first message in your Inbox list
Employ whatever means to mark it UNread with your preferred method,
THEN ⇧ Shift + Down arrow key to just above the Subject title you wish to read
THEN, Down arrow key or click the next in the list ("Locator for authorized repair/ ..." in my example)
VOILA!!
Repeat as necessary

Controling which window is open in application

Lets say I have an application in which I don't want to be able to open all available windows (options) at once. How can I control this in java? What do I need to do, what methods, code etc. I must use?

Ok. Sorry, for the delay in my answer. I was busy since tonight.
The first couple of messages helped me a lot but what I didn't know how to do is put an event listener for window close event. Since I'm new to Java and I'm using Net Beans IDE I finally figured out how to do it so I'll write it here:
Right Click on window (JFrame form) -> Events -> Window ->windowClosed
When the function opens put the code that will control other windows (setVisible), or disable menus on the main JFrame form window (setEnabled).
The reason I'm not using modal dialogs because this application I'm building is for a school project and our professor showed us only the JFrame forms. We didn't used modal dialogues yet.
So the problem is solved. I apologize if I caused some harm.

I have a PDF file which displays an error message. It's fine, how do I get rid of the message?

I have combined a new PDF (printed from a Word file) and an older PDF (from an InDesign document). I see an error message on the first page of the older PDF. It says:
Could not find the XObject named 'Fm0'.
I click OK to clear the error, and there is nothing wrong with the file. I have to put this into an unforgiving PLM system with lots of approvers, and someone is sure to object to seeing this error message. What can I do to get rid of it?

I googled PDF Optimizer and there were several free PDF Optimizer downloads listed. They appeared to be from different companies; FyTek, cvisiontech, softpedia, etc. Is there one that is better for getting rid of of my error message?
I am familiar with the concept of preflighting files; but I don't have any software that does this. Can you suggest one?

Mail turning messages into attachments

Hello. Apologies if this is covered elsewhere - I couldn't find any related discussions.
Seemingly since my last update - to 10.6.2 - mail is doing something weird... Emails - particularly ones with attachments in them - are arriving in my inbox with the text part of the email message that follows an attachment (like an inline graphic) converted to an attachment - "ATT00001.htm". Additionally, if the email was a reply, then the included original text is another attachment - "ATT00002.htm".
It appears the emails are truncated... I've been ignoring those pesky attachments!
Additional info: using hosted exchange as my email server. Experiencing the problem when receiving mail from others in my company.
Any ideas?

I just started to notice this after someone replied to a message I sent them. Look through my sent pile, I've probably been confusing a lot of people over the last few months with random attachments. After a bit of troubleshooting I've come up with a workaround.
Any message body after an attachment gets converted to the ATT0000X.htm, so the workaround is to ensure all your attachments are placed inline at the end of your message -- even after your signature lines.
If you want to test yourself, place an attachement in the middle of your signature and watch the first half of your signature show up, while the second half ends up in a "ATT0000X.htm" file.
This isn't a problem in the receiving mail reader, but a problem in the way mail is composing the message.

How can I control which display my dock displays on?

When I boot my MacBook Pro, the dock starts on my MacBook screen, but if I use my Thunderbolt display a lot, the dock suddenly jumps over there, where I don't want it. How can I force the dock to go back to my laptop screen and stay there?

This is a new feature in Mavericks. Each display now can have a “separate space.” This allows one to access the menu bar and dock on any screen. It also means application windows will start on the screen that is active (a feature I don’t like). It enables a display to be in full-screen mode (e.g. for showing a movie) while the other screens are in normal mode.
If you don’t like these features and prefer the Mountain Lion common display space you can disable separate spaces.
System Preferences > Mission Control > Displays have separate spaces > Uncheck the box.

Application windows don't always remember which display to open on

I have a iMac (27-inch, Late 2013) with OS X Yosemite 10.10 connected to two external monitors (iMac + external screen).
when you have that safari open in the external screen for default (Ctrl+click in safari Dock-icon, options...) open in the external screen, but open in a half screen and not in at full screen as i used the application.
Can You help me?

How to display backend procedure Messages into forms6i or 10g

i want to display some message from db procedure So, if this procedure has no OUT parameter, how can it return a message? Maybe it is not a procedure but a function? If so, you can return the message in forms like this:
v_message := db_function(<parameters>);
message(v_message);

Using the power of the mighty Google, I found you an answer.
The procedure is simple, use rxvt as your download manager and call aria2c as one of it's options. Follow the directions here and you should be set. Don't forgot to read the man pages.

Accordion Menu - need to control which panel opens

I have an accordion menu that works fine but when I put it
into action
on the site, I realized that I needed the accordion to open
up a
different section on each new page.
Since I have the accordion menu in an SSI (server side
include) I don't
want to have a different spry asset for each page. However, I
think
setting a session variable would work to control which
section is opened.
Anyone done this? What would it look like?

When opening a Photoshop file with Bridge, how can I control which version of Photoshop the file wil

When opening a Photoshop file fthrough Bridge, how can I control which version of Photoshop the file will open in?
I store my PSD files adjacent to the original RAW file from which it was derived.
If I open the file folder and double click on that PSD file, it opens in CS6. But,if I use Bridge (CS6) to navigate to and open the same file, it first opens Photoshop CS5 and then opens that PSD file in CS5.
How can I control which Photoshop will open a file I select when opening it through Bridge?.

Interesting, but it doesn't give a clue what I'm supposed to do. No Photoshop ducuments listed.
Look at the PSD file on the location Curt provided and search for Photoshop Document. Next to it ideally should show Adobe Photoshop CS6 if you have Bridge CS6 open. Click on it to provide the fly out menu and choose the correct Photoshop from the list.
But probably something went wrong with your install. By default Bridge chooses the latest version of PS to open its file in.
Maybe a reset of the preferences might also help you. Can you provide more details about OS version etc.
And do you have a good reason for keeping your Raw and finished files in the same location. Personally I keep them apart and use a proper file name convention (yyyymmdd and details) so I can easily search for the DNG files in my archive if I needed them but I don't make mistakes in opening the wrong one

Encode a message into the picture

regarding the subject above, i know how to encode a static message (which mean predefined the message) into a picture..
But when it come to the dynamic message (user can enter message), i really no idea on how to encode it in the picture..
example for how i encode it for static msg :

c1,c2,c3,c4 will be initialized with the new value again...
As you can see in the static example, c4 is used in the pixels[2]... then continue with the next char's 1st 4 bit (d1,d2)..
d3 & d4 is used in the pixels[3]...
err.. hope you can understand my question and give me some ideas on "encoding a message into the picture"

Something interesting is that code that calls CAlert methods get converted into MessageLogs.
Your use of the word "console" makes me think that you are coding for Mac. If that's the case you could create some Mac code and use NSLog to dump to console.
Create a MyLog.mm file with something like:

Remember to add the Foundation framework to your project, and change the compile option from compile all files as C++ to compile according type.

Using Mac Mail for Gmail - controlling which folders to sync

Using Mac Mail app for my Gmail, is there a way to control which folders I'm syncing with? I have 90k+ archived messages, which I don't need to have on my desktop. Is there a way to keep that from syncing?

Updated to latest version of Mavericks.

Go into the Gmail web portal and open Settings. Go to Labels tab and set it to not show those folders in IMAP.
