Convergence - Multiple "Corporate Directories"

Sun Convergence 1.0-4.01
In the Address Book part of Convergence is it possible to add another "Corporate Directory"? By default the Corporate Directory points to the Directory Service that is hosting users and groups for the domain the user belongs to. Users can search that and add entries to their own "Contacts". I am needing the ability to add another Directory Service (different Directory Server altogether) where users could perform searches and add those to their own "Contacts" list. The user would need to ability to search both directories.
Is this possible? If so, how?
BTW, I don't want to use DPS to accomplish this. I had thought about using a chain but that feature is deprecated in DS 6.x.

  • Multiple corporate Directories on a single Callmanager cluster

    Hi,
I just want to ask if it is possible to setup and use multiple corporate directories on an IP phone. We are using CUCM 8.6 and 6945 IP Phones. We would like to setup telephony services for different companies on a single cucm cluster and want the users with their IP Phones to only see and use their own Corporate Directoy.
If this is possible, can someone explain how?
I only know that there is the directory URL in Enterprise Services Setup in CUCM. But this points to have just one diretory, right?
    Thanks
    René

You need to build your own custom directories and host them on an external web server, then register them as ip phone services in CUCM, and subscribe the phones you want to use them.

  • Multiple Corporate Directories based on DP CM 4.0

We have a sister company and I want to create seperate Corporate Directories based on device pool or css on Callmanager 4.0

    Roy,
You cannot set the corporate directory at a Device Pool level, only Enterprise Parameters for affecting multiple phones. At the user level you can assign a directory url per phone. You can bulk these settings to a phone via the device pool search in BAT. The negative to this is that phones could be added later without the correct information. Also this setup requires two LDAP servers configured with your user information or a common one with some default search base configured differently in the ASP pages. You would need to copy and adjust the original corporate directory asp pages to accomodate the two different LDAP stores or LDAP configuration. The appropriate page would be referenced by the appropriate user group. Example User Group A phones would be configured with http://webserver/CCMCIP/xmldirectoryGroupA.asp and User Group B Phones would be configured with http://webserver/CCMCIP/xmldirectoryGroupB.asp. Your CCM would still be integrated to one LDAP store (DCD, AD, etc.) but your directory services would use a different LDAP.
If you do this then I would recommend you set your standard directories enterprise parameter to a web page that says the users directory is not configured. That way if a new phone is added without a directory the user would get a friendly page that tells them to call the help desk to get the correct corporate directory setup.
Here is the link describing just directory access via HTTP.

  • Can an SCCM 2012 instance handle multiple Active Directories?

    Hi All,
    Historically (SCCM 2007 or

    Hello,
I guess you don't have option to archive files in different directories using single CC.
You can archive the files in 1 directory and then run a OS script, which will place the files in different directories (using NFS as protocol).

  • Retrive files from multiple source directories

    Hi,
I need to retrive diffirent formet files from multiple directories and based on file name I need to send it to destination folders. Can anybody suggest me How can I impliment this interface.
    Thanks & Regards
    VenkatK

    Venkat,
I hope since you are taking different format files, you are not doing any mapping. You are moving from one location to another location, because if you different formats then you can do in one mapping your requirement.
If it is correct then as shabharish mentioned you can pick the files using multiple file sender adapters. With this you can pick the files, but to send to different directories enable ASMA in sender file commkunication channel. Then in receiver communication check the extension for each format and then give the directory name so that it routes to the destination you mentioned.

  • Multiple music Directories?

    Hi,
I'm trying to move a bunch of iTunes music, plus more music I've collected, to a new laptop. So far iTunes isn't finding everything.
    1) Is there a way for iTunes to manage more than one music directory?
    2) Is there any simple way to have iTunes move additional music currently in other directories into the iTunes directory?
Here's what happened. I used to keep my music on an external hard drive. This wasn't a problem until one day I noticed the drive wasn't plugged in and iTunes had created a new iTunes directory on the computer itself. On that machine iTunes seemed to see both directories and everything worked, but storage was a bit ugly.
I've now moved both directories to the laptop. One is iTunes and the other I've called 'MoreiTunes'. I'd like to combine the two into a single directory. Can iTunes do this for me?
The second part of this is about 'other mp3' that I have in an mp3 directory. Can they be added to iTunes somehow.
    Thanks,
    Mark

The best way to move an iTunes library is to first consolidate the files into a single iTunes folder (using the LIbrary Consolidate command), and then copy across the entire iTunes folder. This brings across all the content as well as all library information like play counts, play lists and ratings, without losing anything.
The multiple directory arrangement thing that you have will work OK...  until the day you have to move to a new computer.
Regarding your separate MP3 folder:  Go to Edit > preferences > Advanced, and check the box for "Copy files..."  Then, go to File > Add Folder to Library and point it to your MP3 folder.

  • Multiple LDAP directories for authentication

    Hi,
I just upgraded to GroupWise 2014 (from 2012). In GW2012 I used LDAP authentication against eDir. In GW2014, I associated the GW mailboxes to Active Directory. I tested a few accounts and I can login just fine. However I also have mailboxes that have to authenticate to eDir, because (for now) they don't have AD equivalent accounts.
To achieve this, I also added the eDirectory as a directory in the GW admin console. I then enabled LDAP authentication in the Post Office security settings, without adding the "Available LDAP Servers" to the "Selected LDAP Servers" box.
When I logon to a mailbox that is associated to eDir, it allows me to logon. I do have a mailbox that doesn't allow me to logon, although it is associated to eDir. When I re-associate (remove-add) it, it works for a while only to stop working again. It's not entirely stable.
In the POA log, I see the following message: Alert: Utilize LDAP server which is not in the pool configuration! So it would seem it doesn't particularly like my setup.
    Questions:
    * Is what I'm trying to achieve not supported or am I configuring it wrong?
    * If I add the "Available LDAP Servers" to the "Selected LDAP Servers" box will it use it a failover pool and thus mess up my mixed-directory authentication?
    * Is it possible to use GroupWise authentication for some mailboxes and AD authentication for others. If so, it would take away the need to use eDir.
    Iwan

It's not an error, just informational. The LDAP AUTH code for the POA has changed somewhat in 2014. Before, it used to only use LDAP servers in a pool, but now, it will first try any LDAP servers/directories in it's "Preferred list", but if it can't not find the user using that list, it will then proceed to try all other LDAP servers that are configured.

    Hi,
I am able to authenticate to AD en edir within the same PO. I would like
to phase out edir as maintaining two directories is not ideal. The only
reason I still use edir is for those few GW accounts that do not have AD
counterparts and for which I do not want to create AD accounts. So using
LDAP(AD) together with GW auth would be ideal for me. I'll look into
creating a second PO for this purpose.
I just wonder why the POA log keeps displaying the following message, if
having multiple directories in a single PO is supported: "Utilize LDAP
server which is not in the pool configuration!"

  • OT: question about multiple root directories

ok, so on this website i just transferred to a new host, i
    password
protected a directory, and for many people (possibly
    everyone) it is
asking for the login info twice or three times before it lets
    you in. i
contacted the host tech support, who gave me an explanation
    that i don't
think makes sense. or maybe it does, but i don't think
    applies to my
problem. and even if it does, they didn't offer any advice on
    how to
solve the problem, just what might be causing it. bad tech
    support.
anyway, i had a different idea about what the might be. there
    are two
root directories on the server: public_html and www. they
    both have the
same files, and therefore my protected directory is protected
    in both
places. to me, that seems like it could be why it's asking
    for login
    info more than once.
so, i want to find out if this is the case by deleting the
    one i'm not
uploading to. so basically, my question is, if i have chosen
    public_html
as the directory that i upload to, is it safe to delete the
    www
directory? or is there a reason that i need two root
    directories and,
essentially, two copies of my site on the server?
i realize these are probably questions best suited for my
    host, but i'm
unimpressed with their tech support so far (though i like
    everything
else about them), and i'm confident that someone here will be
    able to
    answer this question for me.
    thanks!

ok, well that's good to know! thanks.
also, i changed my mind about the tech support response.
    here's what he
    said:
Typically when you are seeing multiple login prompts like
    what you
describe it has to do with content/site linking.
Here is a rather wordy explanation:
When entering a password-protected web site for the first
    time, you
will occasionally notice that you are asked for your
    password twice.
This may happen immediately after you entered the password
    the first
time, or it may happen when you click on the first link
    after
    authenticating the first time.
This happens for a very simple, but nonetheless confusing,
    reason,
again having to do with the way that the browser caches the
    login
    information.
Login information is stored on the browser based on the
authentication realm, specified by the AuthName directive,
    and by
the server name. In this way, the browser can distinguish
    between
the Private authentication realm on one site and on another.
    So, if
you go to a site using one name for the server, and internal
    links
on the server refer to that server by a different name, the
    browser
has no way to know that they are in fact the same server.
For example, if you were to visit the URL
    http://example.com/private/,
    which required authentication, your
browser would remember the supplied username and password,
associated with the hostname example.com. If, by virtue of
    an
internal redirect, or fully-qualified HTML links in pages,
    you are
    then sent to the URL
    http://www.example.com/private/,
    even though
this is really exactly the same URL, the browser does not
    know this
for sure, and is forced to request the authentication
    information
    again, since example.com and www.example.com
    <
    http://www.example.com> are
not exactly the same hostname. Your
browser has no particular way to know that these are the
    same web site.
at first i thought that didn't make any sense because i've
    been using
the same url every time. but after paying closer attention
    during the
login process, i see that he's right. i've been typing in the
    url with
the www, but once you get logged in, there is no www. so i
    tried typing
it in without the www, and i got right in with the first
    attempt.
so, i suppose my question now is, can i make it so that
    typing in the
url with the www, lets you in on the first login attempt? or
    should i
just tell everyone to leave out the www?
    thanks for the help!

  • ZEN VISION:M Multiple Artist Directories/Album Art Issues/e

I recently bought a Zen Vision:M (got talked out of the IPod) and for the most part I'm very happy with it. However these two small issues are so irritating that they make me want to get rid of it.
Firstly a few artists on my player have multiple directories/folders. Some have two, some have as many as fi've. I am extremely particular about my music so I know that they are properly tagged and the artist name matches exactly. It only does this with when I add media with the zen media explorer, however if I use any other program to add files, such as windows media (don't tell anyone that I used that terrible excuse for a media player!) or MusicMatch (my preferred choice), my album art won't display. I find this interesting, and extremely irritating, considering I used MusicMatch to tag the art to the files). I can only get the art to display using the zen media explorer.
Also is there a way to have the zen organize tracks by name and not into album directories? I refuse to believe that I am the only one who listens to my music by track title as opposed to album title, otherwise I'd just pop the cd in!!! And what is the deal with playing one track plays the whole album? I have to add track to playlist just so it doesn't throw all the songs in there.

Windows Media Player does not write the album art to the ID3 tag of the mp3 file. It keeps the image file separated from the mp3 and makes a link to it.
You need something that can write the image file to the mp3 file itself. Zen Explorer can do this.
As for the multiple artist names showing up. I've never seen that before, and I feel like I need more details. Do the Artist names show up under the Artist Catagory view or the Album catagory view? And I misundertood if you were trying to say this only happens when you transfer music using the Zen Explorer and not Media Playper or MusicMatch since you changed subjects midway through the sentence.
But in a general sense, this would happen if you are spelling the two directories differently. Like for example Tom Jones, Tom Jone, or ( )Tom Jones. the ( ) means theres a space in front of the T. Those would all show up under different album names.Message Edited by TimT on 07-0-2006 2:04 PM

  • Multiple Home Directories

I have a OD server running 10.5.2 and and 10.5.2 file server that is a member of the OD. I am curious if this is possible:
I'd like local home directories for all of the computers (which i currently have set up in WGM by setting the home dirs to /Users. But what i'd also like is for them to have a network home directory that they can save files to for personal use. Right now i have the share set up so that there is a folder called /Users on the file server and i'd like any folder in there to be able to be mounted by doing afp://server/username
are having both of these at the same time possible?

This was my point. I wanted total separation.  In order to create that separation (when trying to use a network user) I had to temporarily move the existing Snow Leopard Users folder (on Partition 1) so that the Partition 2 OS (either Snow leopard or LION) will create it's own User directory structure.  This is only needed for network users (i.e. ones that authenticate via OSX server).
Once the process of temporarily moving the Users folder, letting the new instance create it's own directories, and renaming back, everything works.  i.e. when I startup Snowleopard all operations are within Partition 1 then if I start LION all operations are within Partition 2.
When installing new versions of an O/S I like to have control and manage the change so that I know I have a totally working system.  Been doing the same with Linux for years, but Mac OS/X tries to be a bit too clever!

  • HTMLDB 1.6 Multiple Image Directories

We want to be able to use two different image directories for htmldb. Hi Catherine,
you could easily use the VirtualHost directive for your purpose, if this is an option for you.
    1) add another Listen directive to the httpd.conf for another port, let's assume 7778:
    Port 7777
    Listen 7777
    Listen 7778
    2) your marvel.conf would look like this:
    NameVirtualHost *
    <VirtualHost *>
      Alias /i/ "/home/oracle/product/10.1.0/db_2/marvel/images/"
    </VirtualHost>
    <VirtualHost *:81>
      Alias /i/ "/home/oracle/product/10.1.0/db_2/marvel/images2/"
    </VirtualHost>
    <Location /pls/htmldb>
      SetHandler pls_handler
      Order deny,allow
      Allow from all
      AllowOverride None
      PlsqlDatabaseUsername HTMLDB_PUBLIC_USER
      PlsqlDatabasePassword ######################
      PlsqlDatabaseConnectString spirit.net.nwoca.org:1521:orcl ServiceNameFormat
      PlsqlDefaultPage htmldb
      PlsqlDocumentTablename wwv_flow_file_objects$

      PlsqlDocumentProcedure wwv_flow_file_manager.process_download
      PlsqlAuthenticationMode Basic
      PlsqlNLSLanguage AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1
      PlsqlCGIEnvironmentList SERVER_NAME=empower.nwoca.org
      PlsqlCGIEnvironmentList SERVER_PORT=80
</Location>You can then access them via
    http://server:7777/i
    http://server:7778/i
and /pls/htmldb will be accessible on both ports.

  • Multiple source directories to multiple target directories

    Hi All,
I have a file to file scenario like this.....
    source:
    \folder1\source1.xml
    \folder2\source2.xml
    \folder3\source3.xml
    target:
    \test1\source1.xml
    \test2\source2.xml
    \test3\source3.xml
The files from diffarent folders should be copied corresponding target directories with same file name.
    for example,
source1.xml from the source directory folder1 should be copied to target directory test1 with the file name source1.xml.
here the target path depends on source directory.
so we need to know the source path to decide the target path.
please help me to solve this..

    Hi,
If you have lots of similar scenarios in your project you can opt for a Managed file transfer , i think using tools like RMFT you can manage the direct file transfer scenarios  well and also reduce the pain of XI server.
    refer the link below.
    http://www.repliweb.com/solutions/web-user-file-transfer.php
As  its obvious  from the comments ...I assume that you have 1 source FTP with different folders to pick files from and  files are getting transfered to  single  FTP but different folders.
if you deceid to write a module then .. refer this link which gives a good insight to module development .
    /people/rinku.gangwani/blog/2008/07/16/customized-adapter-module
Again if you want to write a UDF you may need to have a mapping program..
Do you have same structure for all source files.?
