Conversations become locked or frozen

Ever since they tweaked sms messages to be grouped into "conversations" like the blackberry messenger, I've had a problem where I can no longer open a conversation after it gets so big. All I can do is clear the chat history and start again, but if the person is using an email-based SMS program, then I can't re-initialize contact, and have to wait on them to send me a msg first.
Edit: Shortly after restarting my latest conversation, my phone froze completely. This is my second battery pull today (the first being the infamous no-audio problem).

The pull down menus at the top become locked or frozen and unselectable after some use of firefix. When I restart it is fine again for a while. Also I cannot type into the url bar when this happens. I have never had any problems before with firefox so I hope this can be remedied!

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the ''Safe mode'' start window.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")

FPGA Module: Global Clusters become Locked after Compile?

It seems as if, on some occasions, global clusters become locked after a successful compile of a project - you can't enter edit mode in order to add new elements to the cluster. I haven't been able to lock down the circumstances under which this occurs, but it has happened to at least two projects I've designed.
This is a major heartache, as the only solution I can come up with to add new elements is the following:
1. Create a new cluster.
2. Include all existing elements of the locked cluster as well as your new element.
3. Reset all Variable Representations and Data Ranges.
4. Replace the locked one with your new cluster for all instances in the code.
Is this a bug, or is this simply a limitation in the program? Does anyone know of a simpler way to solve this issue than my solution above?

Hello Dan,
I was not able to replicate the issue. Here is what I tried
1. Created a Global variable
2. Used the global variable in my FPGA program.
3. Compiled the program
4. Added elements to the global variable and saved it.
5. Updated my program and compiled it again.
If you can suggest another way to replicate the issue or attach your VI's I will try replicating it. If you think it happens occasionally then we should be able to narrow it down to specific circumstances to troubleshoot.

Multiple images become locked horizonally instead of mounting contiguously

After recently reinstalling CS5 and I now place a group of image files on screen, they become locked together horizontally instead of mounting contiguously slightly overlapped diagonally as before, so what did I miss indicating in PS preferences (?) to get back to where I was previously before reinstalling?

Hello and Welcome!
I believe you want to go back to floating windows? You are going to want to go to Windows > and uncheck the Application Frame. This enables all the windows to floating windows.
To disable to tab behavior:
Go to Preferences > Interface
This opens the Interface preferences dialog box. Make sure the "Open documents as tabs" is unchecked.

It prevents a thief from accessing your software and data, but unless it has iOS 7 installed it will not prevent the thief from erasing and restoring it for his/her own use.
If you have iOS 7 installed even if the thief cracks your passcode, they will need to know your Apple ID and password to use it, otherwise, it's bricked.

After installing iLife Support 9.0.4 - network login becomes locked

I'm experiencing a strange issue after installing iLife Support 9.0.4
I am on a corporate network using Active Directory. I use Connect to Server every day to access all my files for work.
Here is my scenario:
1. Startup OR Restart my MacBook
2. Login to my user account
3. Finder -> Connect to Server (i.e. smb://server/location/etc/)
4. My network credentials are saved in my keychain, so it tries to connect
5. My network account becomes locked.
After #5 I have to call our Help Desk to unlock my network account.
Once my account is unlocked, everything works fine - I can use Connect to Server, Entourage email, etc.
Unfortunately I am unable to use Time Machine due to our company policies
Any insight would be appreciated.

I just dragged all of the 1 January 2001 Prefs out of my folder and restarted and it looks like its working, including the keychain. I'll keep monitoring this...

I just received the steps by email from meteor and I'm moving to OZ in September. I have the OZ SIM card I intend using over there but I don't want to end up locking the whole phone to the OZ network before I go there.

That only happens when you purchase a supposedly unlocked phone from specific stores that say their unlocked but as soon as you insert a sim card they lock to that carrier... a trick (sort of)... that's something totally different than what you are about to do!

Desktop Locked or Frozen

My desktop screen is locked or frozen so that no icons appear on it, and I am unable to drag icons onto it. The hard drive does not even appear on the desktop. Messing with the Finder preferences by making sure the HD and other options are checked has not fixed the problem.

When in the Finder try control clicking ('ctrl' + click the trackpad) right on the desktop ...a menu should pop up, select Get Info. When this box is now open make sure you have 'Read and Write' selected under 'Ownership and Permissions'.

Safari and ICloud locked and frozen

Safari has stopped working on my I-Pad mini. It just sows a grey screen and is completely non functional.
If I open Settings and select Safari. Settings locks and becomes frozen also.
I have to double tap the main button to close both Safari and Settings apps. Safari always displays the same page at this point.
I have tried to disconnect Safari from ICloud but this only produces the busysybol which will run for hours if you let it.
I have even tried to delete the ICloud account from the device but get the same busy symbol and no response.
I have tried various permutations of button pressing to restart but I still have the same problem at next start up.
My mail on this device appears to have stopped working at about the same point at the safari problems started.
Does anyone have any clues where or how to resolve this?

So I have an 8gb iPod Touch 1 generation. My ipod touch has a frozen screen and all it shows is the iTunes logo with the small white arrow and usb cord. I also think it is locked, plus I forgot my password . Anyways I connected my ipod touch to my pc (window xp) and itunes says that "iTunes could not connect to the iPod Touch because it is locked with a password. You must enter your password on the ipod before it can be used with itunes". The reason i connected it was to see if i can restore it but i guess it didnt work. Oh and one other thing my home button is not working, I guess its stuck.

to put it in dfu mode power off the power off the device by any means necessary. Once turned off, you should first press and hold the Home Button. Then, while holding the home button, connect the dock conector to the device and keep holding the home button untill an iTunes message appears that says "iTunes has detected an device in recovery mode."
With DFU mode, the steps are the same except, you would also hold the sleep wake button and the home button before connecting the device to the computer. Then connect the cable to the device and let go of only the sleep/wake button at the top of the device.
This method differs depending on the device and the person you talk to, but for me, this works when needed if the above steps are followed.

Ipod Touch (3rd gen) Locked and Frozen

This morning (12/30) I clicked a link in an email from a trusted source. (The link was safe; I tried it from my computer.) The search icon began turning, then the screen went to the locked home screen (battery icon in the middle, "slide to unlock" below). The time and date on the screen also changed to 11/28. Everything is frozen: I cannot unlock the screen or even turn the Ipod off. Any suggestions?

Phone got dropped, SIM Locked, screen frozen

Phone got dropped GRRRRRR, Sim now locked. I Know the code but the screen has frozen at max enlargement so I can't get access to keypad. Have tried removing SIM and rebooting numerous times. No luck. Can someone help? S

- Hard Reset to get the phone responding (Home Button + Sleep/Wake Button)
- With the iPhone Zoomed get 3 finger and double tap the screen and then slide down the phone. SHOULD zoom out. If not then connect to iTunes and 'Configure Univeral Access' to NEITHER in the Summary Tab.
- Enter in the SIM Pin
