Conversion change for UOM in PO

Dear All,
There are some PO which are posted dated 14.07.2010 for which the uom conversion is 3 pcs <=> to 1 CSE as what is set in the material master for that material selected in PO. But for the same material for which PO posted after 29.03.2010, UOM conversion for the PO is changed to 12 pcs <=> 1 cse but conversion in material master is same as 3 pcs <=> to 1 CSE. but only in PO it is dislaying as 12 instaed as 3 pcs.
Also there was some scheduled Transport window on 14.07.2010 which could have make some changes.
Kindly help where could and how could we trace the issue or its technical issue.

Dear,
As per the analysis, the PO is created from PR and not from Contract. Also for the PO created on 14.07.2009 and PO created on 22.06.2010 has the same inforecord and has the same conversion factor as in material master set i.e. 1cse = 3 pcs but in PO dated 22.06.2010 its diplaying it as 1 cse = 12 pcs.

Best practice UOM changes for one master data

Hello ALL,
What are the best practices must be followed while changing one master data UOM data.
for eg i have two UOMs respectively,
basic UOM = EA another one ia Alternative UOM CAR . 1 car = 10 EA.
now my master data team deleting this CAR via MM02 .
what are the follow up actions we should follow.
(1) for eg i have contract existed for thi smaterial as CAR
(2) I have many POs without doing GR
like wise can you list what are the impacts in the system.
how we can go ahead.
What are the best practices followed while this UOM changes for your customer.

I created a contract for that material in CAR .
my contarct also refered in source list.

CHANGING OF UOM FOR EXISTING MATERIALS

Dear SAPient's,
We have a material code (Bolt) wherein current uom is in No & enduser transactions is already done upto GRN level.
Now that end user team wants to change the UOM from NOs to KG for existing material code(Bolt).
Is this possible, if so how to do it?
What is impact if we change UOM.
Please help.

I don't get you. If you are confident that you can't have KG as an alternative unit and you have to have it as the base UoM of the material, then you don't have a choice but to change the base UoM. For this check e.g. the link that I provided before.
Cosequences? Well, since the material has to be completely "clean" before you can change the BUoM, all new objects/transactions referring to this material after the change will use the new BUoM, so I can't anticipate any issues.

Classic scenario-UOM change for material

We have list of materials(Gcode represented) with UOM -EA(each) which is being used by te users for their business.In case if buers wants in PO with some other UOM say 'KG' then how the shopping cart created with EA shall be converted to the buyers required UOM .Is there any way to make the conversion in SRM. Can somebody throw some light on this .

Rajan,
First of all, I would re-validate the scenario. To have a UOM of EA for something that is purchased in KG does not make sense. EA should be used for items like pencils, wrenchs, sub-assemblies, finished goods, etc.
Second, if it has to be that way, have you tested using the UOM conversions within the material master? You could purchase in KG and inventory in EA. However, you would have to be provided with the proper conversion factor for the material. See if that works.

1- In our system, 1 Box = 6 EA(CH)
So, I need to compare Order, Delivery, PGI quatities for some report purpose.......So, Is there any SAP Function Module, that I can use for CONVERSION?
Scenario: actually, am looking to convert quatities......i mean, if Order UOM is BX of qty 1.........where as the delivery UOM is EA of quatity 6..........so, both r same and varinace is 0.
2 - Wht is the field I hv to use for UOMs in Order, Delivery, PGI/Material doc?

You can use the function CF_UT_UNIT_CONVERSION to UOM conversion.
    call function 'CF_UT_UNIT_CONVERSION'
         exporting
              matnr_imp     = itab_pot-matnr
              unit_new_imp = ztb_vend_min-min_uom
              unit_old_imp = itab_pot-meins
              value_old_imp = w_conv_qty
         importing
              value_new_exp = w_conv_qty.

It should be available check for the field in customer info record for UOM & key in for requried UOM.

Advantage of Alternative UOM as supposed to changing the UOM of material

What are the advantages of using alternative unit of measure as supposed to changing the UOM of material? &
what are the necessary activities in SAP if we change the unit of measure of the material?

When you want to handle the material quantity in other units other than it's Base Unit, then alternate unit should be maintained.
Alternate unit is decided on the basis of area of it's usage.
If A material is having base unit PC and you want to sale it in KG then mainain the Sale Unit as KG by providing the conversion between PC and KG.
In the same way Order unit is the unit when you want to procure the material in the unit other than Base unit.
For maintaining alternate unit, it's corresponding conversion with Base unit is necessary to maintain.
You can change the base unit of material unless and untill no transactions are done on that material.

I think, instead using Report: VA05/ VA05N; its better to use Report: VL10C
In this report, you will get all the Sales Orders along with Materials - relevant for open delivery, along with Open Qty. and various other options can be selected from "Change Layout - (Ctrlt+F8)".

Note: Don't maintain any Field-Entry (while executing the Report: VL10N; in order to list all Sales Orders. But, if you want to list Sales Orders based upon some criterias, maintain the Field-entries, as reqd.

Change of UOM in material master?

Dear SAPIENTS,
I created a material with UOM (M)just now and than assigned to inspection plan. Now I am changing the UOM of material to Nos.. I was getting following
Error: The base unit of measure cannot be changed
The reasons for this are
Routings already exist that are assigned to the material.
   RType          RtgGrp            GpC         Plant
   Q             QRW6MTQT        1            1100
SO I removed the material from inspection plan. But still I am getting the same error. Can anybody tell me the reason behind it?

Hi Kaushal,
You need to delete it from the table also.
The table is MAPL
To delete entry from table
   1. Run trx SE16n (preferable) or SE16.
   2. Enter the Table MAPL.
   3. Enter the group and counter number.
   4. Now in the command window (Where you type the T Codes) type "_&sap_edit_". And press enter.
   5. A message such "SAP editing function is activated" will flash.
   6. Execute
   7. Delete the entry.
Then change the UOM

hi,
if the material is an excisable material , you would have maintained the excise settings for that material in J1ID Trx.
in that you have manitained as TO.
cHECK THE SETTINGS.

One of our client wants to change the UOM in PO. But they have done GR for part quantity. So it is not allowing to change UOM. So I have told them to reverse the GR. After reversing the GR if it not allows to change the UOM what can I do? please tell me.

Acrobat 7 Pro - Conversion options for bookmarking

Does anyone know if there is an option when converting MS Word documents to PDF to set the view options for imported bookmarks? Currently they are all imported with the "Inherit Zoom" option and there doesn't appear to be any way to change this which means I then have to edit each bookmark separately to change the view to "Fit Page" - this negates the time saved having the bookmarks imported in the first place!
Alternatively, is there a way to globally change the view options for all bookmarks in a document after conversion has taken place without altering the link destination?
Or final option - does anyone have the JavaScript code that would do this in a batch process please?

In Acrobat 4 there used to be an option to change the conversion settings for bookmarks and these included the settings for the view option. This seems to have been dropped from Acrobat 5 upwards - I use 7, 8 and 9 for work / personal and this option isn't obviously present in any of them.

I did try that but it sets all the destinations to the page you are on at the same time so you lose all the links to the bookmarked pages.
I know you can use JavaScript to actually create bookmarks, so I figured there must be a way of changing the settings for them. I use JavaScript to set the metadata for the documents too so hoped this could be used. Guess I'll just have to spend hours setting them all manually instead! Shame the feature was dropped as we need it for all our PDF documents (and we have thousands of them!)

Error in global conversion rule for InfoObject 0INCOTERMS2

When I activate BI content 2LIS_12_VCITM with transfer rule, The transfer rule was error with the message " Error in global conversion rule for InfoObject 0INCOTERMS2" and Mgs No. 263.
The transfer rule cannot be activated.
I checked the 0INCOTERMS2 infoObject . The global conversion rule is no error.

If you have not done so already can you apply the SAP note 1387854 in your system and it should prevent the problem from happening again. If you also reactivate the infoobject 0INCOTERMS2 in RSD1 then it should be possible to manually activate the transfer rule.

Clarification about parameters to be changed for max no of 100 conv excd

In our system we had received the error:
Connect to SAP gateway failed
Connect_PM TYPE=B MSHOST=xxxxxxxxxxxxxx GROUP=PUBLIC R3NAME=xxx MSSERV=sapmsXXX PCS=1
LOCATION CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host
ERROR max no of 100 conversations exceeded
due to which some users were unable to work in the system.
The threads that i have found while searching on the topic have suggested changing the parameter CPIC_MAX_CONV=500 (or greater) as per the note 314530.
And as mentioned in the SAP note 316877:
" Reduce ~timeout on the ITS machine to enforce the automatic termination of unused sessions."
Now in SMGW i can see the "Active Connections" (first page of the transaction) and also the drop down option "logged on clients" which gives another list.
I am now trying to understand which timeout parameter controls which list.
Most of the entries in the Active connections list are from the TP jlaunch (and seem to be coming from the java stack of the same system). And most of the entries in the Logged on clients list are from the TP SAPSLDAPI.
I need to know which timeout parameter (as per note 316877) needs to be changed for the problem being faced.
Or have i misunderstood this ~timeout parameter and it should be set in Windows environment similar to the CPIC_MAX_CONV parameter ?

But I would still like to clarify about the other parameter : "~Timeout"
and be prepared to take action on this as well.
As per the (conflicting) information I have so far this seems to be some parameter that is to be maintained in each individual service in SICF ?
Or do we have any synonymous itsp* or gw* parameter which I can set for the timeout?
