    Hi David Turner,
What is the exact error message which you are facing while converting the file from .tiff  format to PDF format.
As per my knowledge, PDF Pack supports conversion from .tiff format to PDF Format -Different File formats that Adobe PDF Pack supports.

Problems converting PDF to MS Word document.  I successfully converted 4 files and now subsequent files generate a "conversion failure" error when attempting to convert the file.  I have a large manuscript and I separated each chapter to assist with the conversion; like I said, first 4 parts no problem, then conversion failure.  I attempted to convert the entire document and same result.  I specifically purchased the export to Word feature.  Please assist.  I initially had to export the Word Perfect document into PDF and attempting to go from PDF to MS Word.

    Hi sdr2014,
I'm sorry to hear your conversion process has stalled. It sounds as though the problem isn't specific to one file, as you've been unable to convert anything since the first four chapters converted successfully.
    So, let's try this:
If you're converting via the ExportPDF website, please log out, clear the browser cache, and then log back in. If you're using Reader, please choose Help > Check for Updates to make sure that you have the most current version installed.
Please let us know how it goes.

  • Convert pdf to word error message "conversion failure", where can I find out more info why conversion failed?

I tried each of the available exportformats:  .doc, .docx, .xls, .rtf.  None of them worked, which only the message "conversion failure".

    Hi bergmanc,
It sounds like there may be an issue with the file that you're trying to convert. Have you tried to convert other files? If so, are they converting without error?
Please tell me a little more about the file that you're trying to convert. For example, what is its file size, how many pages does it have, are there lots of graphics, or a mix of fonts? If the file is complex, it may be that the ExportPDF service is timing out before it can complete the conversion process. It also possible, that the PDF may not be written properly, if t was created by a third-party appellation.
You can simplify the conversion process by disabling OCR as described here: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (O... | Adobe Community (but this solution isn't optimal if the PDF was created from a scanned document.)
Please let us know a bit more about your file, and we'll see what we can figure out.
    Best,
    Sara

  • Why do i always get conversion failure when converting pdf files to xls in exportpdf program?

I have had export pdf for months.  I cannot export pdf files to excel files.  It always says conversion failure. Anyone have any idea why this is happening?  I am so frustrated!  This was supposed to make my payroll reports easier, but it has not helped at all.

    Hi denise/sharon,
I can understand your frustration. Are you converting via the ExportPDF website, or from within Adobe Reader? Does the conversion failure occur every time that you try to convert a file (has it ever worked for you)?
Since you're talking about payroll, I'm assuming that you're accessing ExportPDF from a corporate computer. You may want to check with your IT department to make sure there are no firewall/proxy settings that limit your access to the Internet.
Also, make sure that you're using a supported web browser. You can find a list here: System Requirements | Adobe Acrobat Pro and Online Services
Finally, if you're using Reader, you can try disabling OCR (optical character recognition) by following the steps in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (OCR) when converting PDF to Word or Excel.
Please let us know how it goes.

  • Conversion failure when using PDF Pack to convert a publisher file

Up until the last few months, I used acrobat 8 to convert my church's newsletter from Publisher to PDF for posting on our church website.  When we switched to Windows 8 in January my Acrobat 8 couldn't be installed.  We just registered for the PDF pack with the yearly subscription fee and I have tried twice to convert our most recent newsletter.  Both time the conversion failed with the second time sending the message that the file was too complex or too large to convert.
What do I need to do to make Acrobat XI as least as capable as Acrobat 8 in converting publisher files?

    Hi eec hampton,
Adobe PDF Pack and Acrobat XI are two different things. PDF Pack is an online service, whereas Acrobat XI is a much more current version of the Acrobat that you had on your computer until recently.
There is a file size limit to the files that you convert with PDF Pack (100MB), but even when a file falls below that file size, the complexity of the file (how much text and graphics, and so on) can cause conversion failure. (You could be dealing with bandwidth issues, for example, as the file is uploaded to the Internet for conversion.)
One option it to convert smaller portions of the newsletter. You can also download a free 30-day trial of Acrobat XI from www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html, and convert your publisher document using that.
Please let us know how it goes.
    Best,
    Sara

  • File conversion failures

Trying to combine pdf files to a single file and get file conversion failure.  What's wrong?

All are pdf files saved or converted from word.  I've been able to convert several other files.  I have also systematically tried to leave out one file and combine the rest (total 6 files).  Any way to determine which file is the problem.

  • Using the Export to PDF online service, I get "Conversion Failure" error message; why?

Using the Export to PDF online service, I get "Conversion Failure" error message; why?
The documen t was originally created with Word (*.doc) then printed to PDF format; now I need to convert back to Work, but I get the "Conversion Failure" error message, both on conversion back to *.Doc format and attempt to convert to *.docx format.

    Hi lfordlaw,
How large is the PDF that you're trying to convert? How did you generate the PDF from Word (did you use Acrobat, or Word's built-in PDF generator)? What version of Word are you using?
The answers to those questions should help us get to the bottom of things.
In the meantime, please try the following:
Clear the browser cache and log back in to https://cloud.acrobat.com.
Try a different web browser (see System Requirements | Adobe Acrobat Pro and Online Services for a list of supported browsers).
Try to convert a different file (if you can convert another file without error, the one you're receiving the error on may be damaged).
I look forward to hearing back from you.

  • Converting a PDF to Word- Conversion Failure

Everytime I try and convert a PDF from Reader and/or wwwcloud.acrobat.com it keeps coming back with a conversion failure?
    Any Help?

    Hi rusell1234,
Does the error occur with a specific PDF file, or with any file that you try to convert? Can you tell us a bit more about the file(s) that you're converting--how many pages, what sort of content it has (text/graphics/fonts).
For starters, please clear the browser cache and try again, or try converting from a different web browser. And, make sure that Reader is up-to-date by choosing Help > Check for Updates.
Please let us know how it goes.

  • Why do I get an Conversion Failure error when I combine files?

I have "Adobe PDF Pack" having functionality of "Combining multiple files into a single PDF", which stopped working, and prompting "A Conversion Failure".

I have the same problem, it just started. These are small, simple PDF files, only two of them. And I've tried it with lots of different files, all are having conversion failures. I'm using Firefox for Mac. I've rebooted, updated the acrobat applications on my computer, cleared my browser cache, uninstalled and re-installed Adobe browser plug-ins (no idea if they're involved in this process but I'm just trying whatever I can think of)...nothing works. This is a function I really need to have, is there another option besides the PDF Pack??

I keep getting a conversion failure when I try to convert from a PDF into word. Does anyone have any suggestions?

To use the online service you must upload the file to the service's web site after sign in to your account.
The ExportPDF and the PDF Pack Services provide for PDF to Word / Excel.
Each has its own dedicated user-2-user forum where you'll want to browse and ask questions.

  • Why do I get a conversion failure every time when I try to merge documents together???

Why do I get a conversion failure every time when I try to merge documents together???

    Hi mdrhine,
I'm sorry that you've been unable to merge files. Let's see what we can figure out.
Are you unable to merge any files? How large are the files that you're trying to merge, and how many are you trying to merge at once?
If you're merging more than a few files, or those files are particularly large, ttry merging those files in smaller batches. If one or more files is causing the conversion failure, merging in smaller batches should help you isolate the problematic file or files.
I look forward to hearing back from you with some details about the files that you're trying to merge.
    Best,

When i try to convert a pdf to a word document it says conversion failure.  What should i do?

    Hi David,
I see you are using the ExportPDF subscription. How large is your file?
    Try these two items:

  • I get "conversion failure" message when attempting to upload to combine. Help.

I'm trying to combine two pdf. The upload tells me "conversion failure" each time, without further information. any ideas?

Most people are going to see that message as a result of not properly closing Firefox, and then attempting to reopen Firefox. This problem is most likely to occur on Windows Operating systems, less frequently on Linux and Mac systems but not unheard of on any system.
Because you are on a Mac, I am referring you directly to an article that has been reworded for each operating system.
To properly close Firefox on your Mac use "Firefox" button -> Quit Firefox, and not with the "X" in corner of window which simply closes the window and not necessarily Firefox.
When you get stuck as you have described you must Force Firefox to terminate as described at the end of the article:
    Mac OS X
:Open Apple Menu and select "Force Quit". For Mac OS X 10.3 and later, you can also use the Activity Monitor found in your "Utilities" folder (Applications -> Utilities -> Activity Monitor).
