Conversion from RH HTML makes topic contents disappear in Word!

Hello,
The problem I have encountered is thus: I had to import some topics into my map after getting an error from renaming the topics file names. Ever since I imported the topics back into the map under their new name, when I generate to Word, the topic headers still appear in the TOC and the document, but the content of the topic does not appear. I have tried conditionalizing the text to appear and this doesn't work either. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
A frustrated tech writer.

ok. I know I need more detail - and am probably not alone.
1. copy and paste your Conditional Build Expression into a reply here, so we can see the tags used.
2. I would kinda want to see a screen shot of an example of text that is not appearing where you need it to, with your mouse hovering over the specific content so that we can see the build tag(s) assigned to the content.
3. and some more questions - I know, details details.
a. You write "I was given a pre-created document" - What was the document created in? Just for giggles, tell us the file name with the extension.
b. You write "had to import some new files into the document" - How did you do that, exactly? In what program?
c. You write "old files that were already in the "document map"  - By document map, you mean the Table of Contents, right?
--->  d. You write "since I replaced those files with new ones, the content is now not showing up when generated" - did you rebuild the links to the Table of Contents? The TOC can't dynamically add new topics to itself - you have to open up the TOC and put it next to your topics list, and physically drag new topics to where they should be in the TOC.  Even if new topics use the same titles as on topics that have been deleted, RH TOC won't know about them.
OR, if your TOC is just really hosed, let RH Auto-Create a new one to pull in every topic from every folder (select the option to delete previous TOC entries), and start fresh (delete topics you don't want in there, move some around, assign topics to TOC section headers, whatever).

  • Removing anchors from FrameMaker HTML conversion

After converting a FrameMaker document into an HTML site, I'm left with an anchor (marker) for nearly every single element on every HTML page: paragraph, list, heading, etc. Besides the code bloat, it makes viewing and working with pages in GoLive difficult.
Is there a way to remove all these anchors in bulk from the HTML? Search-and-replace doesn't work in the usual sense, because every anchor has a unique numerical value. Some sort of script? Third-party tool? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • Can JavaHelp open Main Window from an HTML Topic?

    Hi all,
I am working on opening the main window from an HTML topic. Is it possible to do? Right now, what I can do is to make a link in the html page open the secondary window with navigation pane.
Also, can I set different textColor(param name of object tag)beside the one mentions in the JavaHelp System user's guide?
More question. When I give the textColor as "green" which is the color I can set according to the JavaHelp System user's guide in the object tag, the help system displays different shade of green, lime. I tested this settng in IE/Firefox. It renders a default green which is what I need. How can I make the javahelp renders properly?
    Any help would be appreciated,
    thanks

    Hi Dir-t,
There's no way to create that behavior directly in Catalyst. However, you can do it with a little HTML hacking. You'll want to use the IFRAME tag: http://www.w3schools.com/TAGS/tag_iframe.asp
When you publish your project as a SWF, one of the files that is created is an HTML file that wraps your SWF (it's typically called Main.html). You'll want to edit that file.

  • Can't find the topics from the main table of contents

I need urgent help. I am still running RH 8 for Word (2007). I published the entire project. When testing the main table of contents, the books and topics appear as expected, but when I try to go to any of the topics I get the message:
The topic does not exist. Contact your application vendor....
From the individual projects I can see the topics. When I publish them and view the contents all seem to work fine, but it does not when viewing the entire project from the main table of contents.
The main project looks as follows:

Tried that and still have the problem. The RH help lists the following workaround for the error
    message :
To workaround this WinHelp viewer limitation, you can either manually insert the Help filename statement on every page of the external CNT file or allow RoboHelp to automatically do it for you:
1 Open the Help file containing the included external CNT file.
2 From RoboHelp Explorer’s File menu, select Project Settings.
    3 Select the Contents tab.
4 Select the Include Help filename with pages option. When you save the TOC file, this option automatically places the "@helpfilename.hlp" inside the CNT file on every page.
    5 Click OK.
6 Save the external CNT file.
    7 Recompile the Help project
I went to the main index project which contains the external cnt file and tried to select the contents tab (no such tab in the project settings). Then I went to the actual project, and again, selected Project Settings there is no Contents Tab. Is there any other way to get that contents tab?
This is how my screen looks like:

I am unable to add a second call to make a conference  during a conversation from my iphone 4s with ios 5.1.1. The option to add a call is not accessible (dim) on my phone whereas the same is accessible on my second phone. Both phones have the same carrier which allows conferencing.

  • Content disappearing from Apple TV

I am running the latest version of iTunes on my MacBook Pro and syncing this with Apple TV (also fully updated). I have noticed that purchased content disappears from the Apple TV, and in some cases, from the MacBook. For example, I have purchase a season of Stargate Atlantis, downloaded and successfully synced, but then the following day episodes 3 and 5 will be missing from iTunes and Apple TV. They still exist in the backup (within the music library under "TV Shows," but what gives? Why so buggy? Thanks in advance for any comments!!

Well nothing should ever disappear from iTunes, but for the AppleTV. Syncing doesn't really mean all content will always be there. It will sync, Movies, then TV, Music, then Photos in that order. If more spaces is needed for lets say a Movie, it will pull off photos, music, then TV shows in that priority order. The AppleTV I believe is going to try to save room on itself never knowing when you may download a rental or new content from the online store via the AppleTV. It will sync back content if there is room, if not then it will leave it on your computer and then stream when needed. Synced content just allows for faster access and access when computer is not on.

  • PHP code disappearing from Muse html

I'm having an odd error that I'm hoping someone can help me with.
I am using Adobe Muse and a server side CMS called Pulsepro. To run the CMS modules all I have to do is paste an embed line like the following:
    <?php include("pulsepro/includes/gallery2.php"); ?>
I am placing this php code in an HTML snippet in muse and then exporting and uploading to server. On the server I have an .htaccess file with the following lines of code to make sure that the browser can find the PHP:
    AddType application/x-httpd-php .html .htm
    AddHandler application/x-httpd-php .html .htm
When I go to my page, where the php should be is blank. Upon viewing source code it shows that the php include is completed deleted and just has a blank DIV. Now, the local file on my machine (the export from Muse) shows the correct php include line. Why is it that when the browser runs the code it removes the php code from the HTML file? If I put the same php line in a simple html file it runs fine.
Help? I've never had this issue with anything other than Muse.
    Best,
    Oliver

Browsers do not find or process PHP. PHP is found and processed by the server before it hits your browser.
The reason why you may not see anything where you placed the PHP is that it is unable to locate "pulsepro/includes/gallery2.php" or that included PHP file is simply rendering nothing.
What happens when you call "pulsepro/includes/gallery2.php" directly in your browser? Does it display anything?

  • Flex 3 project, all visible content disappears

This is a bit hard to describe.  It's a complex Flex app for a realtime multiplayer game using socket connections.  Previously, everything worked fine, but after some recent changes there is a point where all visible content disappears.
What is REALLY odd is that this ONLY happens when the SWF is embedded in an HTML page.  If the SWF is loaded directly by the browser, either locally using file:/// or served by a webserver (i.e. http://localhost:8080/swfs/MySwf.swf) then the SWF works as expected and transitions to the next state without a problem.
Also of note is that no error is thrown and, yes, I have the debug version of flash installed and can see popup errors by intentionally causing them to test.
I'm at a loss for how to debug this.  I started by commenting out all sections of the code that had recently changed, but the problem persisted.  Since then, I'm shooting in the dark, commenting out sections and testing.  For a bit, I thought the problem might be with the embed code itself, but I'm using the default generated by Flex Builder and it has not changed in the past 10 months that the last version of this SWF was working.  I've tried using every alternate window mode, but that didn't change anything.
I've been testing mainly in Safari 4 (OS X), but tried Firefox 3.5 to confirm that the problem wasn't mac-browser specific, and tried Firefox 3 (Ubuntu) to confirm it wasn't OS specific.
Does anybody know, on a high level, what could cause this kind of problem?  Specifically...
    1)  What can cause the display to suddenly clear?
    2)  What differences are there between running the SWF directly (even loaded from a webserver, so it's not local content) that could affect rendering?
    3)  Any other advice on things to try?
    Attached are two images:
    (a) the one with content elements is the desired effect, and was the result of loading the swf directly, and
    (b) the one with just the plain background image is the result at the same step but embedded in an HTML page
    Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion Barna.  I've been doing that, though, and discovered that the code continues to run in the background, not having hit any error.  I literally had logging statements between every line of code in the function where the content disappears, and every logging statement was output as it should be.
So, I tried executing a different function that does nothing but change the current state instead, and the problem still occurred.
The keys points thus far are:
    (1) no error messages thrown
    (2) no errors in the AS3 code
    (3) but a call to currentState = "lobby" (which is the next desired state) causes the contents of the display to vanish
    (4) again, only happens when embedded
If there is an error, it seems to be in the state change... which is MXML, so I can't log output there, but I'll see if commenting out particular element(s) or changes will shed some light on where an error might be...

  • How to keep the right sidebar on this website from going under the main content (center) column?

Hi...is there a way to keep the right sidebar on this website from going under the main content (center) column when the browser window is made smaller? It would be great if the middle (main content) column could get smaller instead of the sidebar moving under the text when the window is made smaller. I'm working with a fluid layout and this is the first time I've tried this. Any help would be appreciated. Here is the link to the website:

  • How to test and develop the HTML/Backbone custom content viewer on IPad?

    Hi
I have been tasked with developing and amending the HTML/Backbone custom content viewer as nicely detailed and explained by Derek Lu here:
    https://www.adobe.com/devnet/digitalpublishingsuite/articles/html-default-library.html#
I can see that by removing the reference to libs/AdobeLibraryAPI.js in Index.html i am able to "test" on the desktop.
    <!--
        The DPS library/store API.
The include below should be commented out when testing on the desktop.
    <script src="libs/AdobeLibraryAPI.js"></script>-->
and that data is bought in via the fulfilment XML feed and the parse method is called on Librarycollection.
I have made the changes to hook up the viewer to bring in some folios that we are developing.
However, although this provides the ability to test and develop on the desktop in one form since we are using JS and Backbone, there are various checks within the provided code to see if ADOBE.isAPIAvailable.
If it is, then the behaviour is different than on the desktop, so once the viewer is packaged up and put on the IPad there is disparity between what you were able to check and test on the desktop version against what is shown on the IPad.
The question therefore is... is there a quick way to develop and test on the Ipad ... it doesnt seem like a viable option to develop blindly on the desktop and then package up the content viewer within Adobe DPS to check how those changes behave on the IPad?
To re-iterate the viewer is to make use of backbone / js example to provide greater functionality and options for customisation.
    Thanks in anticipation.

Thankyou for taking the time to respond and for providing such detailed articles on adobe dps development, it is much appreciated.
I had completely missed that article and was struggling to find anything useful from googling!

  • AdvancedDataGrid content disappearing when setting rendererProviders..

    Hi All,
Thanks for the community support, really useful.
I am using the SDK 4.1.
Here is the explanation of my problem.I am using a detail renderer inside a ADG, which appears when clicking on a certain column.
This is done is AS3 (I mean not with mxlm tags), using the ADG rendererProviders property with an item renderer passed to a ClassFactory.
This is working ok, until a certain point..
Indeed, the grid contains many columns, with images item renderers and when I am horizontally scrolling through the column, a display bug make all the ADG content disappear.. Headers remain but all the data are gone. A user action that may update the data has to be done to make the data come back of course.
This bug seems to be known by a few, but unfortunately all the solutions are useless in my case (setting the property horizontalScrollPolicy = 'auto' for each column for instance).
After some research it appears that the line responsible for making the whole thing vanishing is the update of the variable rendererProviders:
    ie this.rendererProviders.push(_detailRendererProvider);
In the AdvancedDataGrid.as class, the property setter, after updating its value of course make 2 other intructions :
    invalidateSize();
    invalidateDisplayList();
It seems this is a bit too much for the DG to handle (note that I call this.validateNow(); after the rendererProviders update in my code).
Note as well that if I do not set :
    this.variableRowHeight = true;
An error pops up from the class AdvancedDataGridBaseEx in the configureScrollBars method, doing :
    var headerPosX:int =  lastHeaderInfo.headerItem.x;
    (headerItem is null)
So, end of the day, I am stuck..
Many thanks for your help, hoping it will arouse some lights..
    Benjamin

    hi, katrina S
I don't know how but for the past three days iTunes has been functioning correctly.
I removed al my music files from the library and put them back to their original folder; reinstalled iTunes and let it go from there. I've decided not to copy my music folder to iTunes as it's now working "correctly." I haven't made any playlists or made any online purchases since reinstalling as I'm wary of it all going haywire again. Thanks for your help. I'll keep you updated on this matter.
    take care,
    az

  • Creating Page Layout Problem : Page Content Disappears

    Hello,
I am a recent grad and new to the world of Sharepoint and ASP.
I created a Page Layout with 3 columns and I implemented the 'Page Content' in each column.
When I enter anything ( Text or HTML)  in the Page Content and save, it immediately discards what I entered and saved.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that Page Content Disappears after you save the created Page Layout.
The issues is caused by that Page Layout is not assocaited with the content type.
Please make sure you create Page Layout correctly. You can refer to:
How to: Create a page layout in SharePoint 2013

  • About the effect for batch level conversion from material to plant level

    Dears,
Now  we use batch management at material level in our system, now we want to change to batch level from material level to plant level, what effects or risks it will bring during the process of conversion?
    Thanks a lot
    Zhongkai

    Hi
check the following SAP help link it is very helpful:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_40b/helpdata/es/d2/1d4b6e5733d1118b3f0060b03ca329/content.htm
at the link you can find the following
Specify batch level and activate status management
In this IMG activity, you specify the following:
the level at which batch numbers are unique
whether batch status management is active in the client
the plants in which batch status management is active
the initial status of new batches
    Batch level
Batch numbers can be unique at the following levels:
    at plant level
    at material level
at client level for a material
If you choose plant level, the batch number is unique in conjunction with the respective material and the plant. If you choose material level, the batch number is unique together with the material. At client level, the batch number is unique in the whole client.
To change the batch level, you have to start a conversion program. This program first checks whether conversion is possible and outputs an error log containing all batch numbers that occur more than once at the new level. Now you need to manually transfer these batch records to numbers within Inventory Management using a transfer posting 'material to material'.
If you change the level from plant level to a higher level, it is possible that batches with the same batch numbers in different plants are actually identical. In this case, all you have to do is remove stocks (including previous period stocks) so that all batches with the same batch numbers, except one, can be reorganized.
When you convert from plant level to material level, the material is then to be handled in batches in all plants in which it is defined.
    Standard settings
In the standard R/3 System, batches are unique at plant level.
    Activities
To change the batch level, proceed as follows:
          1. Choose the level at which you want your batches to be unique.
          2. Save the new settings and choose Back.
          3. Select function Batch level -> Conversion.
          4. If necessary, carry out the conversion in test mode first.
    Further notes
Note that you cannot reset conversion from plant level to a higher level in the standard.
If you create a client by copying an existing client, initially, there are no settings in the target client at batch level. The system makes the settings in the target client only when you have carried out an activity (maintaining master data or posting a goods movement, for example).
    SETTINGS BEFORE/AFTER CLIENT COPY:
    Source client Target client
    Client level Material level
    Material level Material level
    Plant level Plant level
    Batch status management
Batch status management is an additional function provided by the standard R/3 System.
    Standard settings
Batch status management is not active in the standard R/3 system.
    Activities
To activate batch status management, proceed as follows:
          1. Choose Batch status management active.
          2. Save the new setting and choose Back.
          3. Choose Batch status management -> conversion.
          4. If necessary, carry out the conversion in test mode first.
    Further notes
Batch status management is linked to the batch level. At material and at plant level, the status management settings are valid within the client, that is for all plants. However, if you have defined batches to be unique at plant level, you have to select the plants in which status management is to be active using function Plants with status management.
If you activate status management, all existing batches are assigned status 'unrestricted'. If you deactivate status management, the systems transfers all restricted batches to unrestricted stock within conversion. Restricted stock only exists if status management is active.
If you create a client by copying an existing client, status management is automatically activated if batches exist in the target client, independent of the settings in the source client. If no batches exist in the target client, it is not activated. In this case, you have to activate or deactivate status management manually, if required.
    Plants with batch status management
    Activities
To select the plants in which status management is to be active, proceed as follows:
          1. Set characteristic Batch status management for those plants in which batch status management is to be active.
          2. Save your settings and choose function Back.
          3. Choose function Batch status management -> conversion
          4. If necessary, carry out the conversion in test mode first.
Initial status of a new batch
Using this function, you can specify for each material type which initial status new batches are to be assigned. However, if you use a quality management system, this specifies the status of the batches.
    Hope it will help
    Best Regards
