Conversion is unsuccess

Hi. Just got my ZEN Vision:M and when I'm trying to convert some video files it says conversion is unsuccessful without any further explanation why. Can someone help me with this?

I had a similar problem with my Vision M. Creative Video Converter doesn't convert ANYTHING?All my video files play fine, it's not a codec issue, the files are not very big?The converter just says "Conversion was unsuccessful" I contacted Creative support who after telling me to uninstall and reinstall the software on 3 different occasions then told me to wipe my PC and reinstall everything from stratch! Talk about using a hammer to crack a nut!?I am just going to have to find a video converter that actually works. As far as I can see Creative support don't want to help unless the problem can be resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling. Well done Creative!

  • Creative Zen - Conversion is unsuccess

Brilliant, just got the 6GB Zen for Xmas, went to put all my favorite videos on it and it won't convert ANYTHING.
Anyone know any alternati'ves for converting?
Regret asking for this player now

I, too, ran into the same conversion problem. Most of my video library is in .mpg format. Unfortunately, the Zen V Plus software doesn't support it!!? What really got my feathers ruffled was the fact that my previous Zen player, the Zen: Vision M converted my videos into?.wmv format (used by the?:Vision M) without ANY problem but the same programmers at Creative didn't bother to make the Zen V Plus software compatible with .mpg files. BAD BAD programming!! Sorry for my rant.?Here is my work around to Creative's bad bad programming.
I downloaded a free video conversion program, "Internet Video Converter" from download.com.
Then I converted my videos from .mpg to .avi (uncompressed!!) using the settings: 28x28,? 385kbps
Then I used the V Plus software to perform the final conversion.
Yes the video quality is reduced by the double conversion but that's what you need to do when bad bad programmers are involved.
I hope this works for you. If you find a better solution, I'd love to hear it.

  • Video Conversion h

I have a 30GB Vision: M player. In the past I have been able to successfully upload .mpg, .avi, and .wmv video formats onto my player. Whenever I try to upload any of those video formats I get the following error: " The video file format is not supported or exceed the playback capacity of this player. Please use video converter to convert it to a suitable format first." Then when I use the video converter (on a .mpg, .avi, and .wmv file) it says "Conversion is unsuccessful."
Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

I do not know if this will work on your 30GB Vision, but would recommend you try out the free program BADAK. Information on that can be found in my pevious posts. Should you need more info, just send me a message, I shall be pleased to help if I can.

  • POA Status screen in Monitor

GW8 patched--On the POA status screen in Monitor, can anyone tell me what
"Unsuccessful Document Conversion" refers to in the Statistics section?
There is a count of 111 in there right now on our stats... (almost 15000
for Successful Documents Conversion). I assume it has something to do with
the DMS docs of which we have thousands, but what conversions are
unsuccessful -- what would I look for in the logs or what user complaints
would result? I am getting random odd user complaints lately. Thanks in
    advance.

Thanks Massimo--after posting I saw some documentation about pdf docs and
conversion--guess those 111 attachments would not show up in search results
    then either.

This has nothing to do with DMS. Unsuccesful conversions occur when the
indexer attempts to index attachments to mails, but fails to. Nothing to
    worry about.

  • Parse array of variants

I have an application where we read binary data over Ethernet at a fast rate (~500 Hz). This data consists of many hundreds of measurements and other variables of all different types (floats, ints, strings, etc). I already have the code to parse this data and store it as an array of variants.
Now, I would like to take that array of variants and map each element to a specific variable.
Because the data is stored in a predefined sequence (Element #1 = speed, Element #2 = power, Element #3 = ...), I considered looping over the array of variants and using a case structure with a case for each index of the array (see attachment). However, this is very cumbersome as the case structure has hundreds of cases (one for each array element) and it is impossible to insert a new element in the case structure without manually re-numbering all of the cases.
Can anyone point me to a simpler implementation? If I was using C, I would probably memcpy the binary data directly into a byte-aligned structure. Is there an equivalent in LabVIEW using clusters?
    (Note: using LabVIEW 2014)

I suppose that what you can do - similar to what you wanted to do in your first post about copying it into a structure in C - is create a type definition for your data structure coming across the network, which would be a cluster of all of your values, and then TypeCast / Unflatten From String into that.  From your image, it looks like you have at least 122 values.  That will be one big cluster, but I suppose that if that is your data structure, then that is your data structure.
By creating a Type Definition, you can gain some maintanability in that if you ever need to reorder, add, or remove data, removing it from your TypeDef should propagate everywhere, and giving every element a name and always using Unbundle by Name ensures that you are always getting the relevent element at each point of use even after changing anything.
Attached is an example of a Cluster TypeDef, and two code snippets follow:
The former uses the Unflatten From String function.  Usually the way to go with unflattening strings.
The latter uses TypeCast.  Functionally identical in this exact case, but probably not advised in this case as:
You don't have options of specifying byte ordering
You don't have options of specifying if the string contains the length at the beginning
You don't have error out to indicate that the conversion was unsuccessful
For some reason you cannot wire non-fixed-size clusters to the TypeCast function.
I do wonder if anyone has a good solution for the initial problem, though.  Consider what if one's data was actually being sent as an array of variants by some other application - how would one best handle that?

  • Ok, so what kind of videos CAN I get on my Zen?

/Ok, so what kind of videos CAN I get on my Zen?S I just bought a Zen. Been trying for 2 days to load ANY videos on my player and getting nowhere. There's probably something simply that I just don't know.
I bought a movie and a TV episode from Itunes. Downloaded to PC. Can't get them onto my Zen. Tried Creative converter, got error. No description of the error just that the conversion was "unsuccessful". I tried several other converters from on-line. Still errors.
I tried to copy multiple DVD's from the DVD dri've to my PC (to then I assume convert somehow to the Zen), they all say they are protected so I can't copy them.
So what kind of videos CAN I get on my player? It's pretty useless to have video capabilities if you can't use it at all.
    Can anyone help?
    Sign me, aggravated.

I can't help you with iTunes, because I studiously avoid that software. But check your personal messages for more help.

  • Firewire to Thunderbolt conversion cable problem

I got a new  iMac in November, I finally got back to coverting my videos and, of course, I bought the Firewire to Thunderbolt coversion cable.  Now, however, under my hardware, in the thunderbolt bus, it shows the conversion cable as attached, but I don't see my ADVC 110.  I do find it under hardware in the Firewire bus listing.   My Software (both Handbrake and iMovie cant find my ADVC 110.  Has anyone heard of this before and does anyone have a correction for this?

I've been having issues with my firewire drives on Thunderbolt adapter for some time. I have two firewire drives connected in series and then plugged into TB adapter of my MacBook Pro. The drives have the following issues:
    * Sometimes do not eject properly
    * Sometimes go offline for no reason (not ejected, and will crash any software, including finder, that tries to construct a representation of the files available on the still-mounted drive).
The issue (including crash of iTunes or Finder) resolves itself if I power down either of the drives without ejecting (or upon unsuccessfully ejecting). It appears that on TB, the firewire serial bus protocol has been compromised such that the drives in serial connection do not play well together, anymore.

  • "The source and output audio channels are not compatible or a conversion does not exist" - ?

I'm trying to export from Premiere Pro for a f4v file that matches all source settings except resizing the video. I've done this a million times but today, when I hit EXPORT, I'm getting an error message from Adobe Media Encoder that says "the source and output audio channels are not compatible or a conversion does not exist." I'm using wav, mov and mts files in my audio tracks and everything plays happily in the timeline. Any ideas?
    Thanks for any help!

Sounds like you unsuccessfully trying to output a 5.1 Master to a stereo or mono file.  Or something along those lines.

  • Catalog conversion error from PSE 9 to PSE10

Each time I try to convert the PSE 9 catalog using PSE10 I get an unspecified error.
I had problems after initially loading the programs and probably didn't choose the correct option to convert the catalog when first prompted. (I loaded Photoshop Elements and Photoshop Premiere 10).  I currently have PSE 9.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the programs.  When I tried to convert the catalog, the program acted it was going to work, but then the conversion stopped part way through and gave me the error.
After a couple of tries more unsuccessful tries at converting the catalog, I logged out of the program.  The next time I opened the PSE10 Organizer, it showed a message that said it was updating and seemed to get stuck in a loop.  I stopped the program and restarted it with the same result.  I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the programs again so that I could get past this step.
Before I tried to convert again from PSE 10, I first tried to repair and optimize the catalog from PSE 9.  That did not seem to help and I got the same unspecified error part way through the conversion.
    Please advise.

    Ken,
I wanted to thank you for your help and tell you how the problem got resolved.
I sat down last night to implement some of your suggestions below and the Adobe chat window popped up.  I decided to give that a try.
My previous attempts at conversion of the catalog from PSE9 to PSE 10 seemed to stop at about 35% complete and then I got an unspecified error message.  After a few false starts, t he technician had me find a temporary file that was created in that process.  In my case the program added temp 1 to the catalog folder name, so it was in a folder called  My catalog 1 temp 1.  Surprisingly, choosing that catalog in the catalog manager window  resulted in what appeared to be a complete catalog/set of  thumbnails in the PSE 10 organizer.  The technician then had me restore my PSE9 backup in PSE10  (I did a PSE 9 backup before I installed the 10 software) .  The restore  took some time so I haven't had the opportunity to put it to the test but everything seems to be there, incuding videos and face recognition and I confirmed that I have access to the organizer  from Premiere 10  also.  I hope this helps you help someone else.
I hope Adobe developers read these forums and use that information to improve their programs this was an awful experience.
    Thanks,
    Kim

  • Solution - How to determine if your iWeb 2.0 conversion was successful

If anyone is having problems with iWeb 2.0 (as I was), there are two quick things that you can check to determine if the domain conversion process completed successfully the first time you launched iWeb 08.
    1) If your file at User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/ is named Domain.Sites, the conversion process to 2.0 did NOT complete successfully. The Apple support person explained that this file is a package of your entire website and when the conversion process is not successful (which is happening in some cases including my initial install), iWeb has no place to save subsequent files during Saves. Thus, resulting is lost pictures, formatting, ect.
    2) Another indicator that your domain was not converted successfully is if you are being prompted to location a domain each time you launch iWeb 2.0. This prompt goes away after a successful conversion.
    ONE POSSIBLE SOLUTION:
First, thank you to the Apple support person that helped via phone and another poster on these forums who posted the double click suggestion.
My domain was successfully converted by doing the following:
    1) Close iWeb 08
    2) Move incorrectly updated Domain.Sites file from User/Library/Application Support/iWeb to some other location.
    3) Copy backup copy of original Domain.Sites prior to installation of iWeb 08 to location in #2 above. NOTE - iWeb installation readme clearly states to backup this file prior to installation which I luckily did. If you do not have this file, this solution is not applicable.
    4) Make sure iWeb is still closed (not running)
    5) Double click Domain.Sites file in #3 above. You will see progress bar but no success message. Be patient - your indication of completeness is when file is renamed to Domain.Sites2 and/or when CPU activity stops (using iStatPro or equivalent). My advice is to wait one minute or so after you see file renamed.
This solved my issues. All saves are now retained and I have not had any missing pictures or formatting after multiple saves and publishes to .Mac.
The Apple Support representative said that they are aware of users having unsuccessful domain conversions to 2.0. It sounds like they are preparing an update and application notes to help address the problem. However, he stated that Apple encourages users to call telephone support and report problems so they can fix them (please note that Apple does not participate or monitor these boards). The representative took my pre-iWeb08 backup domain file via his iDisc account and was going to send it to engineering for their study. He said that they could use a few more examples of pre-08 domain files that failed the conversion process.
Clearly, many people on these forums are experiencing issues (including myself previously). I was reading all the threads and looking for a Software Update. However, a 20 minute telephone call to Apple today solved my issues. All purchasers of iLife 08 are entitled to 90 days of free telephone support (and longer if covered by AppleCare). It may be helpful to call Apple if you are experiencing any problems.

If like me you have multiple sites you use in iWeb the following may help you convert them:
    1) Make a duplicate of each site file before you convert
    2) Go to ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb and rename the Domain file there
    3) Open iWeb and allow it to create a new site. Save this
    4) You will now have a new Domain file
    5) Rename this to Domain-empty
For each site you have do the following:
    1) Copy/Move it to the ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder (keep a backup)
    2) Rename your first site to Domain
    3) Double click on the newly renamed Domain file
    4) iWeb will open and convert this file
    5) Save and quit iWeb when it's done
    6) Get info on the Domain site if it is Domain.sites2 then you are done rename it to whatever you want and repeat for the other sites.
    7) If it is not Domain.sites2 but instead Domain.sites then right click on it and showpackage contents
    8) Duplicate the Domain-empty you made earlier and also show its package contents
    9) Select all the content in your Domain (from step 7) and drag it to the one in step 8. This will basically put your content into a Domain.sites2.
    10) Rename this Domain to whatever you want. This is now the new iWeb working file for that site.
Basically what you are doing is creating an empty Domain.sites2 package, duplicating it, converting your sites and then putting them into these empty packages so that iWeb now fully thinks of your site as an iWeb2.0 site

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard and Pdf Conversion

I am not sure I am in the correct forum, but I recently purchased Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard and I cannot convert existing Word files, for example, to pdf. A message comes up: "PDF Conversion Failed." And that's it. No explanatory message or suggestion how to correct it.
    I would appreciate any help.
    Thank you!

Try these steps to see if things are working at all. If they work, then it is a process of going one step at a time until the problem is isolated.
    1. Print a simple file to the Adobe PDF printer with print-to-file selected.
    2. Open the file created in (1) in Distiller and see if the conversion completes.
If (2) is unsuccessful, you will get errors in the Distiller window indicating the problem. With success, the next step is to check if AcroTray is running, so simply print without using print-to-file. If it does not work, then look for AcroTray.exe in your Distiller folder. This application must be working if the print to Adobe PDF is to work correctly.

How if I dont have 9.2 DB?You have attempted to export from one above...?
Can you skip the TOAD util and just log on to the server and run exp from there?
Another option would involve downloading the 9.2 Database Client (9i Downloads) and install on a nearby PC, or if you have one with 9.2 already installed, and export from there.
Any tricks to export user from different version of
DB instance? (Is it a must that having same version
of DB to exp-imp?)No tricks. The rule is: to export from lower to higher, you must use the lower versions exp tool. (Then use target version of imp for importing. The key is to get the exp dump of correct version and format.)
    NB: while
