Conversion of Actuate Reports to BI Publisher

Is there anyone who has converted Actuate reports to BIP ?

Hi Vandana,
I would recommend to re-create the report instead of converting from Actuate to BIP.
I have used the very initial version of conversion tool and wasnt really impressive.
I haven't tried the new version which also creates IO's and IC's for conversion.

Conversion of an actuate report to BI Publisher fails

After I started an conversion of an actuate report to BIP using the conversion tool (version 2), the batch process just stops. It writes successfully to the logfile that some of the elements have been converted,
i.e.
"2010/02/09 04:02:462 Element "Extended_Price" converted with value
"<?value-of:psfn:Format(psfn:CDbl(ssNAIExtendedLineTotal),"#,###.00","pt_BR") + gCurrencyCode?>"."
However the process never stops, so the batch window just sits there. I have to cancel the job with Ctrl+c.
Has anyone else experienced this behavior and found a root cause for it?

Disable Actuate reports from Siebel screen.

Hi Gurus,
I have never worked on Actuate before. We have recently converted all our Actuate reports into BI Publisher reports on Siebel 8.1.1. Since the conversion went on smoothly, I would like to know how to disable the Actuate reports from showing up on the Siebel Screen as we would like to use BI Publisher reports going forward.

Hi,
I guess u r mentioning the old actuate reports displayed on the view. If u want to remove that, you should take the view name and in tools under view - check for the View Report - Make them inactive. Compile. The report wont appear in the view/screen..

The below steps I followed
1) copied all necessary .jar files to the D:\jdev\project folder
2) Set the classpath
3) set the path and class path with correct java home C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0\lib
ran the below command to convert the .xml file created using the report converter tool.

Actuate Report error

Hi,
I've created one Actuate report, based in a new BC. This report is simple: it basically groups the BC data - to do that, I'm using Group Sections. Unfortunately I'm having problems with this report.
When I visualize the report on Actuate designer window, it works fine: the report shows the information correctly. But when I publish the .ROX @ server and generate it in the web application, the error appears: The report shows the information correctly but the report (Header/Data) is plotted several times. I don't know why it is happening.
Any help ?

Ps: I double checked the SRF and it is the same in both environments: Client and Server. The Client and server are accessing the same DB and the ROX is really being updated @ server.

i know the issue,i can give quick fix, but in-order to make sure you don't get another glitch like this.
I would recommend, you to install the scheduler in another schema or another db.
Re-installing the scheduler schema tables will fix this.

check in your Report definition if there's a parameter defined as Type MENU but without a corresponding LOV.

Hi All,
Unable to create a report in bi publisher. When we tried to create a report abcd, then it is giving the below error.
Operation failed: /abcd/abcd.xdo.
When we tried to create a report with the existing name, it is saying
An object with the same name already exists: /crm/crm.xdo
I can say this is not any permissions problem, I have logged inwith Administrator user.

Error when trying to run an FSG Report via XML Publisher...

Hope someone can help.
This is our first look into the benefits of XML Publisher in order convince Manager to start using it. Thing is, we really need to get both FSG reports and Dunning Letters working.
We've currently got XML Publisher 5.0.0 and BI Publisher Template Builder for Word v10.1.3.2.0
First up, FSG reports. Having followed this link here:

Ive managed to create a template based upon the basic FSG template supplied. I’ve follwed easy steps but on submitting the request against ANY [its what the notes said] FSG report the error messages from both the log and output files are given.. Those being..
Output file displayed the most productive error message:

ORA-06550: line 133, column 8:
PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'SUBMIT_XML_REQUEST'

Can anyone help please? Or perhaps suggest an alternative to running FSG reports through XML Publisher.
Other thought was, do I need any different versions and/or Publisher Enterprise installing?

Excel Output for Standard Reports using XML Publisher

Hi All,
Customer wants to get Excel Output for the existing Standard/Custom Reports using XML Publisher. I followed the following procedure.
1. Changed the output to XML for Concurrent program ( Trial Balance - Detail )
2. Used the Existing seeded Template
3. Ran the Report using EXCEL as the output.
When I clicked on View Output, I am not able to see the Excel output. I am seeing the HTML tags in the output window. Verified that Viewer Options existed for Excel as follows:
File Format=Excel, Mime Type=application/vnd.ms-excel.
When I ran the report with PDF output. I can see the PDF output.
Ran the HTML output with new Viewer Option ( File Format=HTML, Mime Type=application/vnd.ms-excel) then I can see the output in Browser in the Excel format. I did this test after going through the Metalink Note: Note:316752.1
My question is.. Do I need always choose the HTML ouput in the options window to trigger the Viewer option for HTML. Customer may not like this idea. He would like to choose the Excel Output and see the output in Excel format either in the Browser or Microsoft Excel.
Can someone in this situation before help me out.

1. Is the output is same for HTML and Excel options ?
2. Why the output is viewable with HTML option and not with Excel option ?
