Conversion of Non-Standard X12 message with Seeburger Adapter

Hello,
we are using the Seeburger Adapter. Our reqirement is to receive a X12 850 order and convert it to an IDoc.
Problem now is that some additional fields are required in the X12 message that are beyond standard X12. For example we have some additional classification for order types that are used for additional classification of orders.
Would the Seeburger Adapter be able to do this additional conversion?
Or should we use some already existing fields that we use for additional information?
What would be a recommended approach here?

Internal Mapping from X12 to IDoc is no problem.
Is BIC MD mapping available for PI adapter too or is this only part of BIC?

I think there is some problem in invoking the seeburger adapter. Have you installed the adapter? Also after installing you have to import the metadata. Check this document for further help:

Can we modify the standard AOL Message with custom Message in Seeded Page?

Hi,
I have a requirement to change AOL Message with custom Message in Seeded Page.
In a seeded OAF page when a user clicks on a submit button a standard AOL Processing Message is populated.
I Need to change the Standard Message and call Custom Message.
Did controller extension and found that both the messages are populating.
called the code after super and tried to call before super also.
Did any one face this issue and resolved it. Kindly provide the solution.

Accessing websites running on non-standard ports or with self-signed ssl certs?

I've got some sites running using self-signed ssl's that also run on non-standard ports. Firefox home doesn't seem to open these pages it just sits there with the spinner loading and a blank screen...
Anyone else noticed this?

If the ASA is using a certificate issued by a CA that is in the client's trusted root CA store, then the ASA identity certificate does not need to be imported by the client.
That's why it's generally recommend to go the route of using a well-know public CA as they are alreay included in most modern browsers and thus the client doesn't need to know how to import certificates etc.
If you are using a local CA that is not in the client's trusted root CA store to issue your ASA identity certificate or self-signing certificates on the ASA then you need to take additional steps at the client.
In the first case, you would import the root CA certificate in the trusted root CA store of the client. After that, any certificates it has issued (i.e the ASA's identity certificate) would automatically be trusted by the client.
In the second case, the ASA's identity certificate itself would have be installed on the client since it (the ASA) is essentially acting as it's own root CA. I usually install them in my client's Trusted Root CA store but I guess that's technically not required, as long as the client knows to trust that certificate.

Non-Standard Disc Burning With Super Drive

Then I got one of those 80mm to 120mm CD adapters and loaded my 80mm disc into the drive. No problems what-so-ever inserting or ejecting.
So here's the problem: It won't burn. After spinning it around for a bit, it spits it out. Every application from Toast to iDVD to iTunes.
Is this a limitation of the drive? Will it NOT even try to write a disc smaller than 120mm? Nor will it play the discs. DVD-R nor CD-R.
Is there a way to tell it to write a smaller disc? My old tray burner will read and write 80mm discs either in the adapter or not. So it seems to be strictly a hardware issue, which is too bad as the Superdrive blows my external out of the water ...

Wow! You guys are something. 80mm to 120mm adapters are common. They are not hard on the drives at all! What could be hard on them!? It's a piece a plastic that clips onto the 80mm drive and turns it into a standard 120mm disc. AND nobody said Apple was the only slot loader that didn't accept 80mm discs.
Also, there would be no change to the hardware at ALL! The laser presently reads from the inside out. Clip on an adapter so the hardware draws the 80mm disk in just like a 120mm disk. The hardware spins the disc from the center hole just like a 120mm disc. The laser reads the disk starting from the center just like a 120mm disc. What's happening is the drive's firmware, or OS X's drive software must be telling it to ignore the smaller disc capacities of 80mm discs. Otherwise the 80mm disc in its 120mm adapter spins quietly in my drive no differently than a normal 120mm disc. It is not hard on the equipment. However, after the drive reads it, it spits it out, no differently than inserting a pre-recorded disc when trying to burn a blank one.
My guess is that if the drive readily recognized 80mm discs and someone succeeded at burning and/or playing them, people might be tempted to do it all the time and eventually lead to stuck discs and warranty claims no matter how careful they were.
So I'm back to this being a software issue, which should be able to be patched. I'm happy to entertain other theories, if they are more than statements of fact without any supporting arguments.

Outbound AS2 with Seeburger Adapter

I am attempting to send a flat file using Seeburger's AS2 adapter.
1. I created a new scenario.
2. In the identifier section of the partner, I added a line for Seeburger | AS2ID | theID.
3. I created a communication channel of type AS2. It's setup for Transport Protocol HTTP. I gave a server ip address, port, url, timeout, and no MDN.
4. The Receiver Agreement contains the signing key, encryption certificate, and authentication certificate.
In my scenario, I have a sender agreement and communication channel that is monitoring a directory for the file to be sent. Then the document is supposed to be sent to our partner. When I attempt a transmission, I get the following error when I look at communication channel monitoring.
Message processing failed. s custumer need MDN, which they can receive successfully
the same process which we did for anoterher customer its working fine
in AS2 Adapter Guid they mentioned the solution for the error Error while parsing AS2 message: AUTHENTICATION_ERROR is Check the authentication certificate settings.
but using the same certificate we can able to send & customer can able to decrypt the EDI Message
where the problem could be..?

I want to clarify few things regarding Exchange of EDI ANSIx12 messages with Seeburger adapter.
1) We Installed Seeburger adapter & Deployed in XI Server.
2) We are Using VAN FTP Adapter for Exchange of EDI Messages with Our Partner.
1) We have Sterling Commerce VAN setup.
2)We are currently able to Access the VAN mailbox with the help of URL provided by Sterling
3)And also able to access the FTP Folders (Receive,,,Send/commit) provided by the Sterling by providing the IP Address of FTP server.
Queries:
1) we are able to configure Communication channel with Seeburger FTP and provided the necessary details about the Sterling commerce VAN, Host name.....etc. We gave VAN FTP Folder
receive\. in the path.
Do we need to connect to the VAN mailbox or VAN FTP Folder while accessing ?????
When ever I executed the scenario means we are not able to see any messages in CC monitoring
Anybody Worked on such type of Scenario's means Please respond to my thread......

MONI and RWB will only be showing messages if
1) polling channel can connect to the VAN box
2) messages on the VAN box are being fetched
3) messages are SUCCESSFULLY processed by the module chain !

Diff between Seeburger Adapter and File Adapter

Hi All,
My company needs to interact with some banks and the banks are particular that they want SFTP, which is not supported by File Adapter, so we have decided to go with Seeburger adapter.
Now what are the differences between File adapter and seeburger adapter?
I believe that Seeburger adapter does not support File Content Conversion, Archiving etc.
Could you all pls put some light on the diff between file adapter and seeburger adapter when it comes to dealing with files?

You are aware with working of File Adapter.
The most direct way of using the Seeburger adaptors is to configure the BIC as a module. There is a software component from seeburger called bicmapper which will allow you to
1. Define or import the inbound message metadefinition in various formats ( edifact, xml,...)
2. Using a mapping create an xml variant as the output metadefinition or edifact in the other direction.
3. Create a one to one mapping between input en output.
4. Export the metadata in xsd or sda format for import in XI
5. Generate an SDA which can be deployed in XI and used as a module.

Help with custom page size support for non standard paper

Firstly, we appreciate any support you may be able to provide, we have already thrown considerable effort at this and it has been very time consuming and frustrating.
To support a number of business functions need to print to (non standard) continuous and mulitpart paper on a dot matrix printer. The (test) Mac is a 10.4.11 G4 laptop, the printer is an Oki Microline 520 (9 pin 80 column, IBM Proprinter, Microline or Epson FX personalities with a parallel interface) which has been networked via a HP JetDirext Ex Plus print server. That part appears to be operating correctly.
We have tried a number of drivers / printer personalities with varying levels of success:
ESP / EPSON 9-Pin Series CUPS v1.1 / Epson FX personality
ESP / OKIDATA 9-Pin Series CUPS v1.1 / Oki Microline personality
Ghostscript / epsonc / Epson Dot Matrix Foomatic PPD / Epson FX personality
Ghostscript / ibmpro / IBM ProPrinterII Foomatic PPD / IBM Proprinter personality
Ghostscript / okiibm / Oki Microline IBM compatible 9 pin Foomatic PPD / IBM Proprinter personality
There were no appropriate drivers in Gutenprint (5.2.3 version) The most successful is the okiibm / Oki Microline IBM compatible 9 pin settings, it can print A4 and honors the Printer Features Resolution settings in the print dialogue.
Q1: Should we see anything in the Printer Info / Installable Option, it is always blank ?
The issue is custom page sizes, we can manage / add Custom Pages Sizes via the Page Setup / Paper Size interface and they draw on the screen OK but they do not work at the printer (various issue at the printer such error messages, junk printing and wrong orientation):
Q2: Are we heading in the right direction or is there a better way to handle this ?
Q3: Would 10.5 solve all our problems, are the print drivers any better ?
Q4: Is this the correct way to specify custom page sizes, is this all we need to do ?
Q5: Is so how do we get the driver to respect the size, do we need another filter or something ?
Q6: Is it possible to add (by hand) custom page sizes to the ESP drivers or Foomatic PPD files so they they appear as a "standard" offering in the Page Setup / Paper Size interface ?

The Oki 9-pin Series 1.3 and the Epson 9-Pin Series 1.3 should produce the same results. The only difference in the PPDs is the printer model name.
After some testing, I find that the output is not the same despite the two PPDs being virtually identical. I did spot in the CUPS source code for the rastertoepson filter that there is some model name matching for Epson printers. Thus I can see where the output using the Oki 9-pin PPD could be different than when using the Epson 9-pin PPD.

Just for the fun of it, I made some additions to the Epson 9-pin 1.3 PPD. All I can say is that I could print a job to file. I have no way to know what it would look like on paper.
I did find that using a custom paper size did add some unwanted margins to the output bounding box. Putting the custom page size into the PPD seemed to get around that issue.
I added the following lines to the Epson 9-pin PPD 1.3--

This adds a paper size with the 4 inch (288pt) width and 1.5 inch (107.8pt) height. That represents the 1.4 inch label and the 0.1 inch gap between labels. I set 0pt margins except for the bottom where is set the 0.1 inch (7pt) gap as the bottom margin.
