Conversion of Publisher file to PDF

I have a MS publisher file, 98mb in size which I cannot convert to PDF. Teh error message said I could try to install a windows printer. I did install the printer according to instructions and tried converting the file again wiht the same failure message. Do I need to do something to access the printer for the conversion or is this automatic?

Thank you. If it does come back where will I find it?

Having installed the printer, you must use it. You can't just install the printer then do the same thing you did before.
Open the file in Publisher, print to the special printer driver. It takes what is "printed" and sends it off for conversion. I'm still not hopeful it will come in under the size limits though.

I used to use the free version of Adobe Reader to convert my publisher files to pdf files. When I was making a booklet for our hockey team, it said I had to buy it. Now I bought it and it won't convert the files. I am ready to throw this computer out the window!! Can you tell me what is the problem? No it does not exceed 100 M. either.

Adobe Reader never converted Publisher files to PDF, for free, never. I suspect you use to have the (paid for) Adobe Acrobat. Sometimes people have Acrobat (more than $300 worth) and install Adobe Reader over the top, losing that valuable software.
That said, if you subscribed to PDF Pack it should do this conversion. What exactly happens now.

  • What do I need to convert a Microsoft Publisher file to PDF?

I have Microsoft XL Professional and I am doing newsletters for an organization I belong to. I am doing them in Microsoft Publisher, but want to email them to the members using PDF. What Arcrobat product do I need and how do I do it?

    Hi Barb,
Acrobat.com, a free online collection of services, does not support the conversion of Microsoft Publisher files to PDF. Here is the list of supported file types:
text (TXT, PS, RTF), Microsoft Office (DOC, XLS, PPT, PRJ), Open Office (ODT, ODP, ODS, ODG, ODF), Star Office (SWX, SXI, SXC, SXD, STW), Word Perfect (WPD), and image files (BMP, GIF, JPEG, TIFF, PNG)
The full version of Adobe Acrobat, the most current being Acrobat 9, supports a much longer list of file types. For more information, see: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/
I'm guessing that you're using some version of the desktop product at Church?

  • Publisher files to PDF

I have tried to convert a publisher file to PDF for the past 24 hours and continue to get an error message which says "Conversion failure".  I have converted publisher documents previously (it's my church newsletter).  It will not convert this time for some reason.  Suggestions??

I have been trying to do the same thing.  Have you gotten yours to work?  If so what di you end up doing?  I'd like to know what is going on.

  • Distortion of excel charts when converting microsoft publisher file to pdf

I am using the print "Adobe PDF" function in publisher to convert a publisher file to pdf.  Some exel pie charts that were pasted into the publisher file become distorted at the edges in the pdf file.  I have tried playing with various settings and using the "print quality" settings but nothing has helped.  See the attached files for an example of the excel chart, publisher file, and results I am getting when converting to pdf.
    Thanks all.

I'm sorry I didn't make it clear.  What I'm trying to say is that the graphic looks just fine in publisher.  But when it is converted to a pdf, the graphic has distorted edges, if you look at the publisher and pdf files I attached I think you might see what I'm talking about.
Please let me know if it's still not clear.

  • Publisher file to PDF

I'm trying to convert a very large Publisher file to PDF. Is there a file size limit? I've done this before but having difficulty with this one. I'm wondering if it's due to the file size.

  • Conversion of .txt file to pdf file

    Hi Experts,
I want to convert a text file to pdf.
I was able to create a pdf document but unable to open.
I have followed the following logic
    1) uploaded the file using GUI_UPLOAD
2)used the FM GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS to set printer settings
3)Then  used three function modules in order
           a) RSPO_OPEN_SPOOLREQUEST
           b) RSPO_WRITE_SPOOLREQUEST
           c) RSPO_CLOSE_SPOOLREQUEST
I was able to see the data which I uploaded with the spool id  created in  'SP01'
4)Then I used the FM CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF followed by
    5) GUI_DOWNLOAD.
whatever the file size I upload I was able to get just five entries in the table obatined from CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF
The error which I got when trying to  open the pdf created is "This file cannot be opened becuase it has no pages".
could any one suggest some solutions

  • Automatic conversion from XDP file fo PDF file

    Hello!
I have an application that creates an XDP file with a certain report.
I can open the XDP file in Designer 7.0 and then save it as PDF, but I would like to know, how can I automatically produce PDF file from XDP file.
    Is it possible?
    Thanks for your answers,
    Bostjan

    Hi All:
We have a similar requirement for our product.
We have existing XDP templates (for use with Form server), but we have a need for another Client using an older version of XML Forms - AcroForms (PDF Forms).
So, we need to convert these XML forms in XDP files into PDF Forms (AcroForms). We tried File->SaveAs (PDF Forms) from Adobe designer, but it looks like the hidden fields (in XDP files) get messed-up.
Did you guys find any solution for this? I would appreciate if you can share your experiences and insights in this regard.
    Thanks

  • Conversion of Word file to pdf

I have Acrobat Distiller 8 settings set to A4 and pdf 1.4.
When I convert a Word file to pdf using Create file in Adobe Professional 8 the paper size is in inches and the pdf file is in pdf 1.6. The Word files have paper size A4.
What can I do the get the right settings in the converted pdf?
    Thanks and kind regards,
    Els

I don't think this is possible with the current version of portal. I've read you can add file type items through API's in one of the next versions.
Maybe you can then write a script using ghostscript/ps2pdf. I haven't used this product, but it looks promising. http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/doc/AFPL/index.htm

  • Www does not display when converting a Publisher file to pdf

Does anyone know what settings need to be changed in Adobe Acrobat 9.0 in order for it to display the www in web addresses? I am having trouble converting a file from Publisher that includes 2 website addresses and the pdf has the correct links, but the display in my pdf leaves off the www. (For example, www.amazon.com displays as ".amazon.com") Please help if you can!
    Sheila

You have to either use PDF Maker (I think Publisher can do that) or enter the links in Acrobat itself.

  • Problems with some photos when converting Publisher files to PDF using Acrobat 9

I tried to make a pdf of a publisher document that has a number of photographs. Two of the photographs appear grey with streaks -looks like some of the colours are not converting properly. The same document works fine with Acrobat 8 but not with version 9. Anybody have this experience?

Graffit's suggestion did not work for me.
I work for the Ontario government, and we are still using Office 2003. I am not sure what version of 9 we are using as we get bulk licences to use the program. I only got the program in August 2010. I used the default settings in the program.
I try to open the publisher document in Adobe. I have also tried opening the publisher document, then converting it to the PDF. Both have two of the photos that don't convert properly. The other photos are fine.
The two photos in question were given to us by the Communications department. I don't have the originals. The photos were copied from other document. I don't know what the format of the orginal photos were. The person in Communications has not responded to my request yet.

  • How can I convert a Microsoft Publisher doc to PDF when the file size is LARGE?

I have a Microsoft Publisher document that I need converted to PDF. Typically I have no issues converting from Publisher to PDF (and usually can just do it through the "save as" feature in Publisher.) However, this particular file is laden with graphics and therefore very large. I was able to convert it once, but it made some of the graphics as blank boxes. When I try again to convert, it gives me an error message.
Is there a way to conver a LARGE Publisher file to PDF without losing any of the images contained within the document? Please help!

Try emptying the Temp folder. Are you using PDF Maker (not sure that is available for Publisher) or the MS plugin? If PDF Maker, try turning off the tags and reducing the amount of bookmarks needed to a minimum. As an alternative, simply print to the Adobe PDF printer -- will typically give a smaller file and not run into these creation problems for large document, but you will not get bookmarks or such in the conversion process.

  • Creating PDF from Publisher files - failure

my first attempt at converting a publisher file to PDF format failed - no reason given. Too much security on my computer? How can I resolve this probem?

    Hi dvane932,
Are you using the Adobe PDF Pack to convert the file to PDF? How large is the file? There is a 100 MB file-size limit for uploading files to the online service. That said, please try the following:
Clear the browser cache and try again.
Make sure that you're using a supported web browser: System requirements | Acrobat.com
Make sure there are no firewall/proxy settings that are limiting your access to the Internet.
Try converting a different file to PDF (helps narrow down the problem).
Please let us know how it goes.
    Best,
    Sara
