Conversion of timestamp to another format

How to convert a timestamp into another format which results as a timestamp object only.
I mean i have a timestamp in one format. I should convert this timestamp in another format and print. The object I should print is a timestamp and not a string . Any one have solution for this

Now I have the timestamp object t. I want to the
timestamp object t into dd-mm-yyyy format and print
the output in required format which should be a
timestamp object again.
like 24-07-2004 09:45:52 which should be a timestamp
object and not string.timestamp object does not have a format by itself. it only recognizes strings in yyyy-MM-dd hh:mm:ss format by default. if you need to display in any other format you will have to use simpledateformat class. you cannot change the format of the timestamp. you can only have a different format purely for display

  • Conversion of QT to another format ...

    Hello there,
I seem to be having a few problems when trying to convert QT files to Windows Media.
    Apple suggest MPEG-Streamclip (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/mpegstreamclip.html)
I have v 1.9.2 but it only wants to convert the first 30 seconds ...
    Anyone suffered the same?
Thnaks for your time and expertise ...

You don't need MPEG Streamclip. You're only getting 30 seconds because you probably only have the demo version of flip4mac installed on your system. You need to purchase one of the full versions and then you can export to WMV from FCP and QuickTime Pro.

  • Unable to convert aac (m4a) to another format

I have hundreds of m4a files in iTunes, and I want to convert them mp3.
however every time I try, I get an error message
"Error occurred while converting the file "myFileName". The disk could not be read from or written to."
now, I know you'd generally think that my permissions are set incorrectly, but I've checked that the files have read/write access.... I even tried converting them to WAV and AAC instead but same issue. Weirdly, MP3 files in the same folder can be converted to another format.
I tested converting a problem AAC file outside of iTunes using 3rd party software and it worked.
It seems to be that my AAC (mp4a) files are being stubborn inside iTunes. anyone know why?

First, M4A stands for MPEG 4 Audio. It's an AAC file inside an MPG envelope. AAC is the successor of MP3, providing better quality at lower file sizes. In addition, people distributing content don't need to pay royalties to use AAC.
To convert these files to MP3 files, there is two ways for you:
#1. go to into the Preferences panel of iTunes. Click on the orange "Importing" selection and then select an MP3 Encoder for importing. Change the settings to whatever you want. Now, click OK and go back to the main window of iTunes. Select all songs you want to convert to MP3 and click on "Advanced" -> "Convert Selection to MP3".
iTunes knows a second AAC format called M4P. This is the protected version. It cant be converted to MP3 as easily. If you want to convert it to MP3, do this: First, burn the songs you want to convert onto an Audio CD (preferrably an CD-RW so you can erase it again afterwards). Now, import those songs again, this time into MP3 files.
#2.you can use a video converter software, here i recommend you Leawo Video Converter, this video converter can help you to convert aac audio format to mp3 files easily. You can find this software here. http://www.leawo.com/leawo-video-converter/

  • I am wondering what upgrades I need in order to convert PDFs into another format and compress the size of a PDF (if this is possible)?

I want to be able to convert PDFs into another format and I know this can be achieved with a small upgrade. However I am also looking for the ability to compress the size of PDFs, if this is at all possible.

You can use Acrobat Standard for this.

Converting does not mean losing the original files.
iTunes creates copies of the files in the chosen format.
You can easily distinct them by looking at the 'Kind' column or by sorting on 'Date Added'. The converted files will have the most recent 'Date Added'.
Then put them in a playlist, choose 'MP3 CD' in the Burning preferences and burn them to CD-R.
If you don't like a long list of songs, read iTunes: How to set the play order of songs on an MP3 CD how to burn by artist or album.
If all went well, you can delete the mp3's from your library.
If you would like to keep them, but not in your current library, drag them from the library to a folder on your desktop and then delete them. Dragging to a folder will create copies of the mp3's.
If you're using iTunes 7, you could then create a second library and drop the folder with mp3's in that one.
Creating a second (third etc....) library is done by pressing and holding the Option-key when launching iTunes. Hold the key until you see a window which enables you to create or choose another iTunes library.

Open the file in Preview and select "Save as..." from the File menu. Select "Reduce File Size" from the Quartz Filter menu and save. The size probably won't be reduced enough, though. You may have to split the file into several parts and mail them separately. Or upload it to a web server and send the link.

  • Poor raw conversion from Fujifilm X100 .raf format in Lightroom 3 and 4

I'm seeing very poor results when doing raw conversion from Fujifilm X100 .raf format. Who can I contact about this? Is there anything I can do?
See below for what is supposed to be a white curtain, lit by stage lighting. It results in a blown out blue channel, serious loss of detail, and very ugly gradient.
(Lightroom 4.2, Camera Raw 7.2 on LEFT  --- Fujifilm X100 in-camera jpg on RIGHT)
    And for more detail:
(Lightroom 4.2, Camera Raw 7.2 on TOP  --- Fujifilm X100 in-camera jpg on BOTTOM)
(Lightroom 4.2, Camera Raw 7.2 on LEFT --- Fujifilm X100 in-camera jpg on RIGHT)

The blue light is so intense that it is, or almost is, saturating the sensor.
The camera’s built-in raw conversion handles this by shifting the color to cyan—clipping the blue and allowing the green to contribute more.  I doubt there was cyan lighting in the scene, only blue.
Adobe does not shift the hue, but this makes the blue seem over saturated.  Adobe’s conversion may be more colorimetrically correct, but less pleasing in this case of intense lighting that the sensor cannot accurately record.
It is a difference in camera profile used between the camera and Adobe.  Since Adobe does not supply camera-match profiles for much more than Nikon and Canon cameras, you’re not going to be able to fix things other than managing the over-saturation using HSL or WB or other things like lower-vibrance, higher saturation.
You could try making your own camera profile using an X-Rite Color-Checker Passport or the color-checker and the Adobe DNG Profile Editor:

I will be more specific. Does SAP store the date of DTP request execution (table RSBKREQUEST) in UTC format?

  • Converting iTunes music to MP3 or another format

I puchased an iTunes Plus song from the store. The iTunes help says it can be converted by choosing Edit > Preferences, click Advanced and clicking Importing. Unforunately I don't have an Importing tab on my iTunes. I am running the latest version of iTunes (8.0.2) per the Check for Updates function. Any ideas as to how to convert to another format?

The article is outdated and has not been updated.
In iTunes 7, *Import Settings* were on the Advanced tab.
In iTunes 8, *Import Settings* were moved to the General tab and click the *Import Settings* button.
Once you change the *Import Settings* on the General tab, select the songs you want to convert.
Then as noted, right click on the songs and select *Create MP3 version*. Or go to the iTunes menu Advanced and select *Create MP3 version*.

  • Mpeg 4 files to another format?

How can i change my music videos bought on itunes to another format so i can watch them on my tv?
    thanks

It depends on the videos. Get Info on the video you want to convert. If it's says "protected MPEG-4 video file", the video has copy protection that will prevent it from being converted. The only way to play those on a TV would be to connect your computer or an Apple player (iPhone, iPod, Apple TV) to the TV. If the videos say "purchased MPEG-4 video file" then they're not copy protected and can be converted by any number of applications. What you'd want to choose will depend on what format you need the video converted to.

  • ANOTHER formats question...

I've been using Streamclip to convert mpeg2's to Quicktime. I've experimented with Apple MPEG4 and Sorenson 3. Not the jpeg format so much.
My question: which is the best format for keeping the file size about the same and losing the least video quality? These files are for multiple purposes. Some will be used on the internet and others will find their way onto dvds.
Is the option from streamclip to DV good for Final Cut and Quicktime?
I realize the short answer to my question is that it totally depends on what I want the file for. But what I'm really looking for is a primer on the diff between Sorenson, MP4, JPEG-A(B)....etc.
I'm moving toward using h.264 for everything, but not everyone has qt7 - you know?

My question: which is the best format for keeping the file size about the same and losing the least video quality? These files are for multiple purposes. Some will be used on the internet and others will find their way onto dvds.
Everybody has their own picks. However, you might also want to consider the fact that not everybody has upgraded to latest QuickTime Player.
My general pick would be Sorenson Video 3 for general purposes. Sorenson Video 3 performed better (in terms of quality) then MPEG 4 when you limit the bitrate to some small number (i.e. small filesize). As for DVDs, you might want to export in another format for it.
Is the option from streamclip to DV good for Final Cut and Quicktime?
It is, assume the original file is good quality.
But what I'm really looking for is a primer on the diff between Sorenson, MP4, JPEG-A(B)....etc.
I made this page awhile back, you might find it useful.

Fri May 25 17:49:34 2007 to[b] 2007-05-25 17:49:34 If what you have already is of type java.util.Date, then just use formatting:
new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss").format(yourDate)If it's a String only, then you need to do conversion:
    SimpleDateFormat from = new SimpleDateFormat("EEE MMM dd HH:mm:ss yyyy");
    SimpleDateFormat to = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss");
    to.format(from.parse(yourString))
