Conversion of Vedio file to FLV using Java/JSP/Servlets/Struts

This is N.Sridhar and I am working on file transcoding.Does any one have any idea about video conversion tools/API which can be used to programitically with JSP/Servlets/Struts or Java to convert any video file to FLV so that it can be viewed in the Web Browser.Kindly let me know if any one of u have worked on it.You can also get me at [email protected]

I need to create a java procedure that keeps track of any changes done in any directory and its files on a windows System and save this data.

     Notes
1     Some of the similar softwares include HoneyBow, honeytrap, honeyC, captureHPC, honeymole, captureBAT, nepenthes.
2     Some of the other hacking softwares include keyloggers. Keyloggers are used for monitoring the keystrokes typed by the user so that we can get the info or passwords one is typing. If your mapping is one to one then dont go for java mapping use graphical mapping.

Creating file browser GUI using java swing tree

Hi all,
I have some questions which i wish to clarify asap. I am working on a file browser project using java swing. I need to create 2 separate buttons. 1 of them will add a 'folder' while the other button will add a 'file' to the tree when the buttons are clicked once. The sample source code known as 'DynamicTreeDemo' which is found in the java website only has 1 add button which is not what i want. Please help if you know how the program should be written. Unable to locate existing file from unix using java program

I have created a file in unix using java program, file.createNewFile();
And when i try to search for the same file using file.exists() it is returning false. Paths are correct. Can anybody help me out.

u don't need j2ee and struts to do file uploading. An example is as such
in JSP. u use the <input> file tag like
<input type="file"....>You need a bean to capture the file contents like

I should use? for large business applications that would require security, optimization, etc., i suggest that you go for a good dbase and i'm referring to Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, Informix, and the likes. But, if you're going to do simple application, MS Access can do the job. Since it comes with MS Office installation, you'll not find it any harder to configure your dbase.
Which web servers (Jrun, JWS, Apache, JWS, Orion...)?you can use the following apache, IIS, Websphere, etc...
don't forget that you also need an application server. say, tomcat application server and apache web server.

Is it better to have a servlet do the database work and call it from JSP?No, it's better to have persistence objects do the database work. Servlets handle HTTP requests, and JSPs are HTML factories that should be pure view.
But there are lots of ways to do things. You just have to understand the tradeoffs when you decide.
I do not want to hammer out code, I want to learn the
best way to do things from experienced developers. Sorry, sounded like you just wanted to churn stuff.
"best way" can be subjective. In one app, "best" might be "delivered fastest". For another, "best" might be "most secure" or "most easily modified" or "best performing" or whatever. You won't get a "best" answer, only different choices. And they aren't always so easy to explain or execute.
I'd recommend that you start by reading about layered applications (3-tier architectures) and MVC separation. Once you've Googled enough about that, look into a framework like Struts or Spring or WebWork. That'll help you figure out where to put each responsibility in your app.
I can use dreamweaver to create web apps, but I hate
the arrays used to define fields. It also seems not
