Conversion of WMF's to Itunes

I loaded all my cd's on to a USB hard disc in the WMF format. I have just bought an Ipod and have been converting these WMF files into Itunes. This is working fine. However since when the conversion is taking place it interferes with Outlook, I tend to stop and start the conversion process. THe Question is - does this mean I get duplications on conversions, as when I look at the Library I seem to have 3 or 4 copies of the same music ( seems to be only Classical music) - is there any anyway that I can stop the conversion s/w converting the same music over and over again each time I start the conversion process

Hi Rashmi,
For converting info package groups to process chain , we can Use this  function module
rspc_migrate_infopackage_group .

  • How to undo an iBooks conversion and revert back to iTunes

Apple listens if enough people complain.  If you hate the current implementation of iBooks, send Apple feedback here:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/ibooks.html
I'm starting this thread as a central place to collect ways of either:
    A. Preventing a conversion from iTunes to iBooks
    B. Reverting back to iTunes after a conversion
Here's what I've seen in the community so far:
Kevin Edgecomb's solution for reverting back:
Re: Not impressed! No edit info, no library management!
Andy Epprecht's solution for reverting back, building on Kevin's:
Re: Not impressed! No edit info, no library management!
Any other solutions for prevention or reversion?

    And here's Andy Epprecht's refinement:

A small refinement or let's say alternative to Kevin's wonderful solution:
    1.) Stopped the bookstoreagent process.
2.) Moved its file to elsewhere (Documents) so it wouldn't start up again on reboot.
Now assuming that you want and have organized all your media (music, video, book, pdf, etc.) in your 'iTunes Media' folder:
    3) Opened up iTunes, made sure I had checked 'Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library' in iTunes >Preferences>Advanced
4.) Went to iTunes>File>Library and checked 'Consolidate library' (and all my files (books/pdf's) magically reappeared (got copied back) in my iTunes Media folder (with all tags and so on like they used to be)
    5.) Counted to ten.
6.) Restarted iTunes, saw all my stuff still there.
7.) Deleted iBooks for Mac (maybe wise to backup it to some external drive before), and the books in the new iBooks storage folder (that's in:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.BKAgentService/Data/Documents/iBooks)
8.) Synced to my iPad, and was, yea, verily happified.
    For whom it helps.

  • Converted songs from Windows Media Player to itunes show up in the library but will not play

I just installed itunes for the purpose of converting my Windows Media Player library to itunes.  I went through the install and added the music folder.  itunes went through the conversion process overnight and all of my songs appear in the music library.  However some songs will play properly and if you open them in windows explorer they are in a folder called my music/downloads and are mpeg files.  Other songs that are listed in the music library and appear to have been converted will not play.  When you click on these songs that won't play it appears to be playing in the progress bar on top, but no sound comes out and the EQ visualizer shows nothing.  When you open these songs in Windows explorer they are located in a folder: my music\i tunes\itunes media\music and they are a .AAC audio file type. What went wromg in this conversion process? Why is itunes putting these files in two different locations?  Why will these files not fully convert and play?

This is also what I suspected but why would the songs go through conversion, show up in the library, and then not play?  Apple support even says "itunes for Windows cannot import or play WMA files that are protectd."  Yet the imported song is sitting in the library and when you play it the song is listed and the diamond advances - but no sound.
Also, any tips on how to see if a WMA file is protected by DRM?
    Thank you for your response.

  • ITunes keep crashing - 8GB of mp3s in 1935 files, networked hard drive

So I have 8GB of music in 1935 files and 209 folders, and they are on my Linux box (which shares the drive out through Samba).
The mp3s themselves are haphazardly put into folders, with some of them having some information about composers and other tags, and some of them, nothing.
I tried to import all of them into my iTunes to load them onto my iPod, and all it does is crash iTunes.
    Any suggestions ?

Not really an iPod touch question, per se, but its possible that the headers on the problem tracks may be corrupted or nonstandard. This can happen with some MP3 conversion or import utilities, and iTunes is very picky about headers. If you search the web for "mp3 repair" you'll find a number of repair tools. Here are a couple I've seen mentioned:
    MP3 Validator
    VBRfix
I haven't tried any of the versions of either, so I can't attest to how well (or indeed if) they work.
Hope this helps. If not, I'd suggest you take up the question in the iTunes for Windows - Importing forum.
    Regards.

  • Add Files To iTunes Library is not working

I unlocked several files put them on my desktop then added them to my iTunes library by going to File>Add to Library but after it clearly shows it's being imported and finished I then search the library for it but there's nothing there of that sort. I try searching for the folder name I imported and the names of the tracks but nothing. Any ideas? I'm using the latest Mac OS and ITunes.

The headers on the problem tracks may be corrupted or nonstandard. This can happen with some MP3 conversion or import utilities, and iTunes is very picky about header. Try running your MP3s through this utility:
    Mp3 Validator Mac version
It sometimes can fix the problem.
    Hope this helps.

  • MP3 on desktop wont open in iTunes or add to library, has done so in past

I've been trying to add two MP3 files that are on my desktop with no luck. If I double click on them, iTunes opens but does not play the music, and the music is not in my library. I've tried adding them to the music folder or selecting "Add to library..." and choosing the file, but nothing seems to work. This used to work fine, I don't know what changed! Any suggestions?

I noticed this problem occurring when certain third-party utilities (The Tagger, in my case) inadvertently change the actual file's Kind (Finder) from "MP3 Audio File" to no specific file type.
When the MP3 file's Kind is removed (Get Info to check), iTunes will not recognize it - whether by dragging to the library's window or File > Add to Library.
It usually takes a program like Switch to re-export the old mp3 to a new mp3 to reapply the "Kind" to the file's info.
    Just an observation...

  • Exporting WMF's to Microsoft Word and preserving anchors toggles

I'm creating artwork (lineart) in Illustrator CS3, and would like to place the art into a Microsoft Word 2003 text document and when completed with the project save the word document as a pdf. So that in the end we can open the pdf and be able to edit the page back in illustrator. The problem is that when we are in the pdf and go to advanced editing to edit page it does open the page up in Illustrator so that it can be modified but the artwork has not preserved the toggles (anchors) for the vector line formation but has chopped up an acr or circle into many smaller segments. Is there a way to preserve the anchor points in exporting? Or, am I on the wrong track and is there a better way to accomplish this? Really appreciate any insight. Thanks

Illustrator's conversion to WMF is awful. That's why I usually recommend hi-res PNG when exporting Illustrator art to Worst. In this case, since further editing is being done in Illustrator, I think you'd be better off leaving Worst our of it and just doing everything in Illustrator.

  • HT1473 If I have accidently downloaded all my CD's in AIFF format and want to convert the downloads in my iTunes library to AAC format to reduce the sIze  in gb's on my laptop is this possible or do I have to down load it all again in AAC format?

If I have downloaded all my CD's accidently in AIFF format and created a massive 330gb file on my laptop, can I now convert the downloaded files to AAC format or do I have to re load all the CD's in AAC format.................help?

You can convert them.  No need to re-rip the CDs.
The original rip to AIFF maintained all audio quality of the CD.  An AAC that you get from converting an AIFF or from re-ripping from CD will be equivalent quality.  But since you already have the AIFFs, converting will be much faster.
A few specifics of the conversion process have changed in iTunes 11, so check this guide:
iTunes 11 for Windows: Save a copy of a song in a new file format
Note that the process creates a new AAC but does not remove the original AIFF.  If there is no future use for the AIFFs (which I assume is true in your case), you can just delete them from the library after the conversion is done.

  • Itunes match having issues playing some of my songs

I recently got itunes match over winter break and it's been working pretty well. Although I do have some issues with playback. I noticed some songs just get skiped over. I have deleted them off icloud and my itunes and resynced them back on but icloud still manages to skip over them. Can anyone else tell me how I can get icloud to play the songs.

If it happens again, do NOT delete the songs from your library. Rather, highlight and choose "Convert ID3 tags..." Pick a likely value, such as v2.3, and after the conversion, try to play them.
iTunes tends to be finicky/strict/incompetent (pick your own interpretation) about the ID3 tags in MP3 files, and a conversion is often enough to fix the problem.
If the song is no longer in your library, you can resort to a 3rd party tag fixing program.

  • Itunes won't play mp3 after downloaded from firefox, but it does play it from Chrome

I download an mp3 in Firefox, which is current--31.0.  I click on the download, iTunes opens it but it doesn't play it or even load it into iTunes.  When I download an mp3 from Chrome, it opens iTunes just fine and plays the song.  I have checked my add-ons and I have the iTunes applications detector in my plug-ins.  This is a brand new computer, so that probably has something to do with it.  I'm running Windows 8.1 on a Lenovo Ideapad.  I would appreciate any help with this problem as my job deal with music frequently and I use Firefox most often.  Thank you.

  • Why won't iTunes import my mp3s?

I have some mp3s that itunes (on OSX) simply won't import. I am starting with a brand new library, right click on the files, open with iTunes, iTunes opens and nothing else happens. I don't get any errors. It's frustrating. Any idea what the deal is? If the mp3s are incompatible or ID3s are problematic, any tools I can use to fix them? They seem to play fine in other software.
Edit: The music adds to my library effortlessly when I drop it into the iTunes/iTunes Media folder. But why should it matter where it is (currently tryign to add via an attached drive which works fine for most mp3s, but not all)?
    Thanks.

  • Could someone suggest a procedure describing how I should migrate my iTunes files from old an older Motorola-based PowerMac to a new Intel-based Mac Pro?

My problem concerns migrating, or moving my iTunes files from a Motorola-based G4 PowerMac OS X 10.4.11 iTunes 9.2.1 (4) to a new Intel-based Mac Pro running OS X 10.8.4 iTunes 11.0.4.
    Context Summary:
    1.  Migration assistants on my old and new macs are not compatible.
    2.  My older mac has my iTunes library stored on an external firewire disk.
    3.  Part (but not all) of my iTunes files are also resident/stored on my iPod classic.
    4.  Finally, I need OS X 10.4.11 on my old mac and cannot upgrade it to OS X10.5.
Proposed method A: Is there a way to transfer my playlists from my Motorola Mac to my Intel Mac?  If so, could I then connect my external firewire disk (containing my iTunes library) to my new mac, and then tell iTunes (on new mac) to use my iTunes library located on my external firewire disk?
Proposed method B: Would my chances for success improve if I used my iPod classic to transfer iTunes files from old Mac to new?
Worst Case Proposal C:  I could start from scratch and recreate iTunes playlists and library on new mac.... time consuming proposal but it's possible.  (Please don't suggest this proposal unless no other viable choices exist for me.)
Or have I missed something?  Is there another procedure I should use?
    Please advise, and thank you.

    Hello Chris,
Answer to your iTunes library question:  By iTunes Library, I mean my iTunes Media folder only; not the entire /iTunes/folder with iTunes media folder inside.
BTW: Your pointer to ht4889 was very helpful, and sharing the folder, then copying it over firewire interface from old to new mac was most useful.
However, now with my entire iTunes folder (including iTunes media folder) moved to new mac, I remain unclear as to how I should configure iTunes on the new mac so that it can know about and use these copied files.  I understand using iTunes preferences, how to point iTunes to my media folder, but don't know what other iTunes operations are necessary for iTunes to pick up where I left off with my old mac.
Is there any file conversion necessary?
    Or inside iTunes, should I:
    File->Library->Organize Library?  or
    File->Library->Export Library?  or
    File->Library->Import Playlist?
Please advise and thank you again for your help.
As you might imagine, I put a great deal of time building my iTunes library, and would feel very blue if I need to build it again from scratch on my new mac.
    So long for now.

  • Trouble Importing burned CDs to iTunes 11.0.1

For years I have been able to import CDs which I have burned on my home stereo from vinyl and other sources.  Now that I have iTunes 11.0.1, whenever I try to do this I get a message that I have inserted a blank disc.  I have a large collection of these burned disks, and would like to import most of them into itunes and put them on my ipod, but haven't been able to do so since updating iTunes to 11.0.1.   Thanks in advance for any insights/solutions.
....  I have even put in CDs that I had imported previously, and am still told that I have inserted a blank disk, though the music from the first time i imported it has always been available, and the disk plays everywhere else.

  • ITunes Match, only half of the song?

    Hey everyone,
So I got iTunes match not too long ago, I did the upload portion of it on my main Desktop WIndows-Based PC. Everything appeared to have worked, and I was able to download everything to my MacBook Air, iPad, and iPhone. Few days later I was driving to work whilist rocking to some Lionel Richie, and the song "Hello" played half-way when the next song came on. As a matter of fact it does this with several songs all all of my devices except my Desktop. So my questions are:
    1. ***?
    2. How do I fix it?
    3. Is there any way of changing the master computer (i.e. the computer which does the syncing) over to my MacBook Air?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
I have the same problem and changing you master computer won't work. I have tried doing it from my mbPro to my mbAir and viceversa and nothing has worked so far. I have also exchanged several e-mails with Apple reps and phone calls as well, and as iTunes Match respects they are clueless so all I've gotten back from them is useless link to forums and posted solutions which do not relate at all with our actual issue. They keep saying that redownloading the files will fix it but it doesn't. I own and iPhone5 and a "new" iPad both running iOS 6. Conversely when I'm using iTunes Match on my mbAir from a newly created library (so no hard copies of the files in the computer, just from the cloud) everything works perfectly, so apparently is a bug in the iOS. I'm really frustrated with this but the fix will have to be provided in a new version release, and they already have a lot in their hands so I'm not very confident it will come any time soon. They might be able to make the fix from the iTunes Match servers but who knows. So patience my friend, that's all that's required from us at this point.
    Sincerely,
    Abdel

  • Itunes directory for external hd with windows xp

I've put my itunes library on an external hd but when I sync my ipod with it not all of my music syncs. In fact very little does. Also, how do I avoid the conversion of mp3 and still have those music files sync?

Question #1: Have you verified after putting the music on the external hard drive, that the songs that are not syncing to the iPod still play OK in iTunes?
Question #2: Which MP3 conversion? I am not aware of any sort of automated conversion to MP3 done by iTunes other than importing a CD and you have your import preference set to encode using MP3. So you will have to be more clear as to what exactly you are referring to.
