  • Combine ppt files into pdf - picture issue

    Hello All,
we are trying to combine several ppt files into one pdf document . Joining process went correctly, but some pictures in the final pdf are broken. If we try to save separate file to pdf, there is no issue. This issue is visible only during marging several ppts files into pdf. Please, do somebody know, where shoold be a problem ? (Office 2013, Adobe Acrobat XI)
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Peter

    Hi Peter Drgon,
One possible solution would be to replace the broken images of the combined pdf with original ones.
You can select the particular broken images from your ppt file and convert them to pdf,
then import that image containing pdf into your combined pdf file and later you can use 'edit text and images' tools to replace the broken Image in your combined pdf file.
Does that help? If you face any challenges or if i have misinterpreted your issue. Please let me know.

  • Converting a word 2000 file into pdf using Adobe Acrobat Standard X

I reinstalled my Adobe Acrobat Standard X today, and tried to convert a *.doc word file into pdf, but the application could not open the word file and got stalled. I remembered that last time I installed the application the same probelm cropped up and I had to install a Microsoft patch that was required to do this, What is the patch file and how do I get it?

I answer my question myself. I have solved it myself. The answer can be found by searching adobe website. But I give it here if it can be useful to others. Go to control panel. Go to Add or remove programs. Click on Modify in the listed Adobe program. Click Next in the box that appears. Select Modify. Click on + sign against pdF maker to expand. Click on X sign against 'this feature is not available' which shifts on to the little box on the left of Microsoft Office. Click on Apply. Quit. Once the Microsoft Office becomes disabled in Adobe, Word will open in all places.

    Hi,

  • Trouble converting Word 2010 file into PDF

I have a file that was original composed in Word 2007.  It has a box with dialog on the front page (think a disclaimer on the cover of a brochure).  I use Acrobat 9 Pro.  Converting that file was perfect.  I recently upgraded to Word 2010 and I open, edit and save the document in compatibility mode.  When I print to Adobe (or alternatively convert the file), the disclaimer in the text box doesn't convert properly.  The rest of the document looks fine, but the text in the box is smushed to the far right of the box.  I have no idea what to do.  Another person I sent the file to has no issues converting from Word 2007.  Is there a known issue with Word 2010?  Is there a fix or plug-in?  Thanks all.

    Bon dias,
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
Adobe has not formally tested Acrobat 9 software with Microsoft Office 2010 applications and does not certify the behavior of using the two together.
The Acrobat ribbons, also known as Acrobat PDFMaker, do not work with Office 2010 applications the same way they do with Office 2007. Customers using Acrobat 9.0 through 9.2 will see the Acrobat ribbon in Office 2010 applications; however, attempting to use PDFMaker functionality from the Acrobat ribbon can result in unexpected behavior. Customers who update to Acrobat 9.3 or later will not see the Acrobat 9 ribbon in Office 2010 applications.
Adobe plans to add support for its Acrobat PDFMaker technology for Office 2010 in the next major version of Acrobat.*
We have not made any announcements about updating Acrobat 9 PDFMakers for Office 2010.

  • Acrobat XI Pro successfully installed, but it failed in converting word files into PDF, why?

I just installed Adobe XI Pro through the download assistant, it looks the installation went well, but when I tried to convert word files into PDF (tried many times), it failed. Anyone has the same problems, any solutions?

Please reply with more information - what your operating system is, do you have Office installed, and what exactly is happening. Is there an error message, does the application crash, and from where are you starting the conversion (using Word and PDFMaker, using Acrobat's Create button, or batch processing).

  • Converting Multiple .EPS files into .PDF

Dear Forum:  We have tried converting multiple .eps files into PDF using article 325977. This article in Adobe help is really designed to convert .ai files into either .eps or.pdf, our situation is to convert multiple .eps files into PDF. Everytime we run the macro, it simply takes the eps file and saves it as another eps file and does not convert. We have a "Save As" step that we have in the macro that is set to "Save As" PDF, but it still does not work. What are we doing wrong?

    Hi mephisto11757,
You can convert the following file types to PDF with the Adobe CreatePDF service:

  • Cannot open Office 2013 Excel, Word, PPT Files on Network Share

Cannot open Office 2013 Excel, Word, PPT Files on Network Share
I am having a problem opening any Office 2013 file when it is located on a network drive. I immediately get the error:
"Microsoft Excel cannot open or save any more documents because there is not enough available memory or disk space.
. To make more memory available, close workbooks or programs you no longer need.
. To free disk space, delete files you no longer need from the disk you are saving to."
It only occurs when I try to access the file when it is stored on a network share. I cannot open any word, excel or PPT files located on my file shares.
I am on Windows 8 (pro), part of a local domain based on Server 2003, and have administrator rights to the domain and the file share where the Excel file resides (and Word files -same problem). If I copy the file locally, I can either open
it directly, or right-click, go to Properties and 'un-block' the file and then open it. But it is impractical to keep doing this, as I edit different files from the directory tree all day.
I have bing'd and google'd this extensively, and the only answers I come up with do not work, such as going into the DCOM config system and changing the user from interactive to launching user, or vice versa, or even using a specific user - mine
with the password. Since the product is so young there aren't a lot of posts on this, and nothing has improved the situation.
Can you add any insight to this? I really want to use Office 2013, but this is such an obstacle I'm going to have to downgrade if this problem cannot be resolved. Thank you very much for any help you can offer.
    Evan

    Dear Evan,
If DCOM config solution did not work, I'd suggest narrow down the problem by trying to access another network share on another server, try to open an Office file there, do we still have the error? It could help us determine if the issue is on the client
    machine or the server side.

  • Setting Font for converting multiple text files into PDF using VB 6.0

    Dear All,
    Am converting multiple text files into PDF using VB6.0. Currently, am unable to control the font face and size for the generated files. Below is the procedure am using for each file;
Public Sub proc_convert_to_PDF(srcFilename As String, destFilename As String)
    Dim p_AcroApp As CAcroApp
    Dim p_VDoc As CAcroAVDoc
    Dim p_DDoc As CAcroPDDoc
    Dim IsOk As Boolean
    Set p_AcroApp = CreateObject("AcroExch.App")
    Set p_VDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.AVDoc")
    Call p_VDoc.Open(srcFilename, "")
    Set p_VDoc = p_AcroApp.GetActiveDoc
    If p_VDoc.IsValid Then
    Set p_DDoc = p_VDoc.GetPDDoc
    ' Fill in pdf properties.
    p_DDoc.SetInfo "Title", Format(Date, "dd-mm-yyy")
    p_DDoc.SetInfo "Subject", srcFilename
If p_DDoc.Save(1 Or 4 Or 32, destFilename) <> True Then
MsgBox "Failed to save " & srcFilename
    End If
    p_DDoc.Close
    End If
    'Close the PDF
    p_VDoc.Close True
    p_AcroApp.Exit
    'Clear Variables
    Set p_DDoc = Nothing
    Set p_VDoc = Nothing
    Set p_AcroApp = Nothing
    End Sub
    What I need;
    1) to be able to set the font face of the destination file ( destFilename)
    2) to be able to set the font size of the destination file ( destFilename)
Am using Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Type Library
    Kindly Help.
    Thanks in advance

We didn't say it doesn't work. We said it isn't supported.
There are a number of other ways to make a PDF. The one which would
give the most control is if your application directly printed to GDI,
controlling the font directly. This could print to Adobe PDF.
You could look for an application that gives control of font for
    printing.
You could use a text-to-PostScript system and distill the result. You
    could even look for a non-Adobe text-to-PDF.
Working in the unsupported and dangerous world you chose, the font
size for text conversion is set (and this is very bad design from
Adobe) in the settings for Create PDF > From Web Page. There is no API
    to this.

    Hi,
There are many ways to convert XML files to PDFs through java.
One of the easiest way is by using iText.jar which have classes for conversion.
The following are the required steps
    1. Create a document object for the XML file ( Using DOM or SAX parser).
    2. Parse the xml document and extract the content to write in PDF.
    3.Create a itext Document object.
4.Get a PdfWriter instance for the PDF file.
5.Write in the pdf the extracted text using the document object.
Refer <a href="http://itextdocs.lowagie.com/examples/com/lowagie/examples/general/HelloWorld.java">here</a> for a simple pdf writer example.
Refer <a href="http://java.sun.com/developer/codesamples/xml.html">here</a> for examples of XML Parsers.

    >But, from the windows explorer, if i do a right clic on the word document, with the context menu, i can directly convert to PDF
This is equivalent to using the PDFMaker facility in Word - that is,
the Acrobat button. Which is also the same thing that is done when you
use File > Create PDF > From File in Acrobat.
What it does is print to a PS file *and* do a lot of additional
processing to write stuff about links, tags etc. into the PS file.
    >(no tmp PS file is used, cause the links are still working).
This isn't true, but it's certainly the case that you won't get links.
There seems to be no API, via any mechanism, still less the "obsolete"
(Microsoft's view) command line, to use PDFMaker from your program.

  • Converting files into PDF/A format

    Hello,
    My main questions are:
    1) How can I convert a normal document (say, word document) into PDF/A format using Adobe Acrobat 8.0 standard (that's what we use in the office)?
    2) When we convert a file into PDF using Adobe Acrobat, does it save the file automatically in PDF/A format or is it normal PDF?
    3) How can I tell if a file is in PDF/A format?  Will it have a different extension than PDF?
    4) What disadvantages are there related to PDF/A format (if any)?

    Thanks pogopossum,
I'm using now Goodreader. This has also the advantage of a good interlinking to other available documents.
This is also not functioning with ibooks. Goodreader has some drawbacks compared to ibooks.
You cannot recognize the books easily since no frontpages are present and you need to scroll more to find the correct document. A annoying thing is that once you enlarge the index and jump to a linked page that page will show up in the enlarged fashion. So you always need to resize the new page. This problem is not present in ibooks. An enormous good feature of Goodreader is the easy and many ways to import files.
