Convert 0-10 volt to 0-5 volt

I apologize if this isn't the correct forum.  I need to convert a 0-10 volt analog square wave signal to 0-5 volt to use with the USB-634.
Thanks in advance.

  • How do I control the speed of a 24 volt DC motor with a 5 volt signal?

Hi guys, I need your expertise here. I am trying to control the speed of a 24 volt dc motor for a project. To do this I am using a MOSFET transistor. I am using the 5 volt output from a NI myDAQ microcontroller. When I connect up the circuit, the MOSFET allows roughly 13 volts to pass through the motor without a gate signal. When I apply a 5 volt signal to the gate of the MOSFET transistor it sends 24 volts to the motor and remains at this even when the 5 volt signal is removed. My plan was to use PWM on the gate signal to control the speed of the motor. I was hoping that the motor would be at 0 volts and ramp up to 24 volts with a 5 volt gate signal. It is a 3.6 amp motor and the MOSFET is a IRF520.

For the last link the circuit I am using is the Unipolar transistor switch circuit.
Any more info needed I will be glad to supply. Thanks

I am unsure what the pump is for but I can help you to control the speed of a single phase brushed 24V DC motor.  I would recommend using an amplifier that can handle a pwm signal.  It will take a PWM from your myDAQ and translate that to a analog voltage to your motor.  This analog voltage will be supplied by your external 24 VDC Power supply.  A good example of this type of amplifier can be found here:

  • How to buy a PC to accomodate 5-Volt PCI card PCI-6602?

We've been having the devil of a time finding a computer with 3 or more
PCI slots at all, and then most makers & sellers have no idea about
voltage compatability!  My understanding is that the NI-PCI-6602
(of which we have just bought 2) is a 5-Volt card, and therefore my PC
needs to have either a "5-Volt" slot or a "Universal" slot which would
be capable of accomodating either a 5 volt or a 3 volt (3.3 volt?)
card.  To confuse the issue further, some *cards* are said to be
'Universal,' meaning that they can operate in either a 5 volt slot or a
3 volt slot.  Thus, a slot capable of accomodating a 'Universal'
card is not necessarily a "Universal" slot!  Oh, and did I mention
that all these cards and slots fit mechanically, it is just that some
combinations don't work electrically.  Besides this, I have heard
that some motherboards, while not offering "Universal" slots are
switchable to either 5 or 3 volts.  I'm not even getting in to the
different kinds of PCI slots (PCIE, PCIX, etc.)  The slot I think
I need for my new pair of 6602s is a plain old PCI slot.  I am
happy to buy (or even build) new computers to do this job.  I just
need something with 5-volt plain PCI slots, five of them ideally but at
    least three.  Thank you!

Pretty much any new computer that you can get will have the appropiate
PCI type that you need to use these boards. You will be looking for a
Computer/Motherboard that is compatiable with the PCI 2.1 or 2.2
standard which supports the 5V you need to power these PCI-6602s. What
you might be seeing is a lot of computers that are coming with the
PCI-Express slots, which are very different then stardard PCI. These
computers, since they have PCI-Express, have a limited number of
standard PCI slots (usually 3). So if you go with a computer with no
PCI-Express, then most will have 5 slots. So depending on whether you
go with your favorite computer maker or decide to build a machine
yourself just make sure that the motherboard says it has 5 PCI slots
(and not PCI-Express, or PCI-X) and as long it is new you should be just fine. If
you want to read up on some on the PCI standard here is a link to a
    good resource.

  • HT4275 Only Work with 110 volt?

I Ende charge  my iPad 3 and i Havre 220 vol over here, trying put on computer but receive the words not charging, Can use the adapter with 220 volt or only 110 volt?

The adaptor that comes with the iPad will work with 220 v. It will auto-switch. All you will need is a wall outlet plug adaptor.
You cannot charge the iPad from your computer's USB port.

  • NI 9265 has an external input of 24 volts but only outputs 7 volts

    Hello,
I have a cRIO 9076 with two NI 9265 modules, one NI 9207 module, and one NI 9482 module. The issue I am having is with the NI 9265 modules. I am using an external power supply to provide 24 volts to the module but each of the output channels reads either 7 volts or 13.2 volts. I need the modules to measure 24 volts for each channel in order for the system to function properly. Does anyone know what is wrong or what I need to change to fix this problem? Thanks for your help.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello Leroy_Jenkins
You are experiencing that behavior since the compliance voltage of the 9265 is 12 VDC max. (Page 13 specifications).
Sometimes the term "Compliance Voltage" in the NI 9265 specifications is confusing.  This specification could be explained to something such as "Maximum allowable voltage."
There is a discussion forum here that is going to clarify this point.

  • 3.06 Volt VCore?

Well..... my dad's PC has a messed up component somewhere.  I'm thinking it's the motherboard; an MSI K8T Master-F.  Using CoreCenter and SiSoft's SANDRA, it seems like the first processor's VCore is anywhere from 1.5 volts to 2.7 volts... whilst the second processor is at a constant 3.06?  Correct me if I'm wrong... but if those readings were correct, I wouldn't really have much of a processor left.  I'll list out the symptons, and maybe someone can come out to a logical conclusion, because SOMETHING needs to be RMA'd.
-Sometimes the computer fails to boot Windows
-Programs do not install properly; there is a memory error every time (although it started off with being able to install programs)
-Misread temperatures:  MBM 5 reads the temps on the second processor as 127*C...
-Random errors that cause shut downs
    -Impossible voltages
My hypothesis, based on the fact that these errors seem to be different from one another, is that the motherboard is pretty messed up.  My dad seems to think it's the RAM, but I don't think RAM would cause misreadings in temps and VCore voltages.
    Here's his current set-up:
-MSI K8T Master VIA chipset "K8T800"
    -Dual Opteron 242 @ 1.6GHz - 1.55v (I think)
    -(4) Corsair XMS, 512MB ECC Registered DDR400 PC-3200
    -Antec 550W PSU "True550"
    -ATI X800PRO 256MB DDR3 256-bit
-Plextor 8x +-DVD-RW (not sure of the model)
    -Hitachi 250GB 7200RPM SATA HDD - 8MB Buffer
-Western Digital 120GB 7200RPM IDE HDD

ok, when i first got mbm5 IF i had core center installed with it my a 64 3200 was reading 127 C
when i uninstalled corecenter and reinstalled mbm5 my readings were correct
try doing that, if that doesnt help, i think motherboard is the issue

  • Can I use my mac book pro with 120 volt and 240 volt power supplies?  Does the power converter automatically switch, so I just need a different adapter plug?

I got my mac book pro in the U.S., but I will be travelling to where there is 240 volt power.  Does the mag safe power adapter switch automatically, so I just need a converter plug, or do I need a transformer to convert from 240 to 120 volts?  Thanks.

    Hi,
I too bought my Macbook Pro in the US and I live in the UK (its so much cheaper in the US! No 20% VAT!)
The power adapter does work on UK 230v power. You can also get a three pin extension lead (like the 2 pin US one that came with the MBP) for about £3 with free delivery from Amazon UK.
Another tip, whne you are back in the UK, and you are switching from a PC to a Mac, get in touch with your local Apple Shop who run one to one free courses on how to use your MBP.
    Hope This Helps!!

can I use my I-phone with 220 volt (China) with only a prong adapter, or do I need a votlage converter as well. Unit purchased and used in USA.

The iPhone charger is a world charger, no voltage converter needed. All you might need is a plug adapter, but that's it. Your charger will work fine & no worries about frying your phone as suggested by the orther poster who has no idea what he/she is talking about.

As noted your power adapter will handle the voltage. You might however need a plug adapter if those county's use a different physical arrangement...

  • Can i use my i phone and i pad chargers when in a foreign country with 220 volt service without using a voltage converter?

Can I use my i phone and i pad chargers in China where the voltage is 220 volts? I realize that I will need a plug adaptor, but the question is do I need a voltage converter?

You should read the fine print on your charger.  The one I got with my iPad 4 (12 watt) says "Input: 100-240V".  So it should work with 220V with another adaptor.  The iPhone charger does not allow other adaptors but can use an iPad charger with an iPhone.

  • When I cgarge my iPOD, can I do it overseas in a 220 volt plug as long as I have an adapter, or do I need to getb a transformer to convert the current to 120 Volts, as in USA?

When I plug in my iPhone 3GS using the Apple plug to charge it, and I am overseas in country with current of 220 volts, do I have to use a transformer to step down the current to 120volts, or can I just use an adapter to allow the plug to fit, and charge it with 220 volt current??

The adaptor voltage range is 90 - 240 so all you will need is an adaptor.
