  • How to convert unstructured document into structured document

I have many unstructured documents. Is it possible to convert these documents into strcutured documents? I know that structured FM uses DITA which is different from unstrcutured document. This is client's requirement so I want to get community views on this.

    Yanesh,
I would approach this in 2 stages.
Understand how DITA works independently of FrameMaker first. I say this because DITA is not a straight forward 'out of the box' experience. This could be a good starting point -http://www.technicalcommunicationcenter.com/2011/04/13/technical-book-review-practical-dit a-a-nuts-and-bolts-guide-to-structured-technical-writing/
Understand how FrameMaker works with DITA. FrameMaker has it's own way of how you author DITA based content. You might want to look at tools such as DITA FMx - http://www.leximation.com/dita-fmx/, which claims to make DITA authoring easier with FrameMaker.
If you are initially just producing PDF from your DITA content, then FrameMaker is probably the best way of getting the results you want, as FrameMaker templates work the same with structured content, as they do with unstructured.
    Good luck

  • Is it allowed to convert pdf documents into rtf using Adobe SDK

    Hello
Can I convert pdf document into rtf using Adobe SDK?
Is available this functionality on c# code? Which assemblies i can use for it?

which is why it has to be on the desktop and not a server.
I didn't quite understand your statement. Could you, please, explain, why I can't use it only on the desktop and not a server? And, could you provide documentation, where I can find information about converting documents using c#?

  • How do I convert a document into a jpeg?

How do I convert a Word document into a jpeg?

    Hi there
You cannot directly open a Word document in Photoshop, nor can you save a .jpeg in Microsoft Word. A work around for this is to save the document as a PDF, which will allow you to open it in Photoshop:
    1. Open your document in Microsoft Word. Select File > Save As... and select PDF from the Format dropdown menu.
    2. Open Photoshop and go to File > Open... and select your newly created PDF file. An Import PDF dialog box will pop up. From the "Crop To" dropdown menu, select Media Box. This will prevent Photoshop from cropping your document size down to just the text area. Click OK.
    3. Now, you can select File > Save As..., and select JPEG from the Format dropdown menu.
A quick note, when I opened the PDF in Photoshop, there was a transparent background behind my text. To solve this, just create a new fill layer by going to Layer > New Fill Layer > Solid Color... and selecting white. Then just drag this fill layer below the layer with your text on it. This layer will flatten when you save your image as a jpeg.
    Hope this was helpful!

  • Converting Word Document into Robohelp format

I am new at Robohelp and have been recently assigned a task to convert several Word documents into Robohelp using version 9 of RoboHelp. Can someone please direct me in the right direction (location, URL, tutorials etc.) to find some step-by-step help, it would be most appreciative

    Hi Michael.
Rick asked that question because there IS a method of linking a Word file to a Robohelp project and bringing in any changes to them. It was designed exactly for the scenario where a SME or client writes the content and someone else just acts as a kind of content curator. However if you just want to import the Word file, this is fine also but you'll need to understand that once the content is in RoboHelp, the content would need to be changed in Robohelp.
There is a good tutorial on the benefits of both linking and importing over on Peter Grainge's website (see the link below). This is a very useful resource for all things RoboHelp and well worth bookmarking.

  • Converting Terminal Document Into AIFF

    Hi,
I recently retrieved some data off of some some very old PowerMac computers, including some audio files. When viewed in OS X, these files are simply labled as Terminal Documents. Is there a way that I can convert the Terminal Documents into an audio file like AIFF?
    Thanks

if you are sure of the file type, just add the appropriate extension: e.g. if the file is called "teletubby" and you know it's an AIFF file, select it in the finder and change the name to "teletubby.aiff".  that will give it the proper icon and file associations.  If you need to do it in bulk it's easy to do in applescript - google 'applescript rename files' for pointers.

  • Converting word documents into pdf and sending

IA company that I am applying for a position to requires that I send my resume and cover letter in a pdf format.  These two documents currently exist in WORD format.  How can I successfully export the documents into a pdf format and send?

  • I have imported a PDF form (created in adobe acrobat XI pro) into FormsCentral.  I now want to convert this document into a web form so I can embed it into my website.  HOW DO I DO THIS?

I took a word document I had created and added fields to it in Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.  I then imported the PDF in Forms Central and now I am stuck.  All I am able to do with it in FormsCentral is add a submit button.  It will not allow me to edit the document in FormsCentral.  What I ultimately need to do is get this converted to a web form so that I can embed it into our company website.  Additionally, once it's converted, I need to add an option for the user to attach their resume with the file before submitting.  I have looked all over the web and I cannot find an answer as to whether or not I can convert PDFs to web forms in FormsCentral.  This will ultimately determine whether or not the company decides to purchase these programs after the trial version has ended in a few days.

I tried that first, but FormsCentral does not have the capability to create tables.  The form I need to create is more advanced than what FormsCentral allows.  Do you know if there is a way to create or somehow import a table when creating a web based form on FormsCentral?

  • Problem converting Word Documents into pdf

Hi Folks - and Happy New Year to You!
    I'm using version Adobe 7.0.
I written an e-book and can't get the darn thing to convert into a pdf file. Sometimes it works -- sometimes it doesn't.
I suspect the problem is with my many embedded graphics. I have created Microsoft Powerpoint slides, and have cut and pasted them into my ebook as objects inserted between the paragraphs of text.
When converting from the "Convert to Adobe PDF" button in my Word Toolbar, it gets all the way through and finally has an error at the end saying: "an error occured while creating a temporary file; Word was unable to write some of the embedded objects due to insufficient memory or disk space"
I have Adobe set with a password to protect copying, and the Word file size is around 1Mb.
My computer is only a year old, and I have 23 Gb of free space.
I'm using Windows Professional XP and Word 2002
Please reply asap or email me on [email address deleted by host]
    You Have My Best Regards

    Hi,
I have tried to get this right for a few days now Finally found some info at
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=330729
    See point 2 below.
Creating PDF files by using PDFMaker
You can convert Word files from within either Word or Acrobat. Because both applications use PDFMaker, you can achieve the same results in either application.
To create a PDF file from within Word:
    1. Exit from all applications except Word to minimize processing time. To further minimize processing time, complete the following:
-- If the document contains several fonts, either reduce the number of fonts or replace TrueType fonts with Type 1 fonts.
-- If the document contains large or complex tables, reduce the number of columns and rows.
    2. If the document contains hyperlinks, make sure that the page margins are .8 inch or larger.
    3. To add features such as font embedding and compression to your PDF file, choose Adobe PDF > Change Conversion Settings. (To create customized job options settings with these features, edit the conversion settings. For more information, see "Editing the PDFMaker Conversion Settings" in the Acrobat Help.)
Isn't it totally obvious to anyone that the margins have to be at least 0.8 inches for hyperlinks to work.....
I made a new page format slightly larger and increased the margins. After making the PDF file i trimmed it in Adobe. Worked like a dream...

    Hi,
We have a brand new PDF library for LabVIEW. Release date is in october. The library can create pdfs, with all kinds of text writing and picture stuff. It works stand alone, so there is no need for other programs. It should also be platform independend.
If your interested, drop me a mail. I can send you mail when it's released. Maybe we can give you a "beta test", if you send use your findings.

i want to convert the text of an HTML page into a document...
how can i do that....plzz any ideas...
    Edited by: ping.sumit on Jul 14, 2008 10:28 PM

If you mean a word document the simply right click-> open with -> Microsoft Word
if you mean a Java Document then parse it as an XML file because the HTMLDOM is basically XML Syntax
Don't know about Scripts though probably end up being the content of the <Script> tags
