Convert A3 .docx to PDF. Is it possible?

Hello!
I have a few .docx documents but when I convert them to PDF (adobe acrobat pro extended 9) files a part of the document disappears.
Does any one knows how to do it?
Thanks...
The best regards!

There's a bunch to choose from here. Some are free, some are shareware.
Edit: Sorry, only one of them appears to be a Mac application. I'll look a little more.

  • Why is it taking so long to convert my docx to PDF?

    It is taking a long time to convert my docx to PDF.  My docx is 74KB and contains a picture

    Hi danielc77590163,
    Did your file finish converting? If it did, you may have just run into an issue with your Internet connection/upload speed.
    If it stalled, or you received an error message, please clear the browser cache and then try again. If that fails, then we'd want to take a closer look at what's going on. Do other files convert for you? Are you converting via Adobe Reader or via the ExportPDF web interface? How was this particular PDF file created?

  • Increased file size when converted from .docx to .pdf

    Hello everyone,
    I have been having problems with Adobe: I need to convert a large amount of Word documents (.docx) to Adobe files (.pdf). I need to keep the size of these documents small as there are limits designated to my project. I have converted a file of 27kb recently and it turned out as 207kb pdf file. When I save this, I select "Minimum Size" when saving in the "Optimize for" area. As far as I know, when converted, .pdf files should be smaller than the original files. Please help me on this
    I am using Microsoft Office 2013 and Adobe Reader XI (11.0.06)

    Not wrong. Different.
    As it seems you are converting by saving as in Word, rather than using Adobe software. If you own Acrobat Pro, you can both use it to make the PDF (several different ways, many settings) and analyse the space usage.

  • Problems converting MS Publisher to PDF - Is it possible?

    I have created a draft of a family reunion newsletter that is a large  document. I thought that if I save as a PDF I would be able to send via  email to my siblings for their review and comments prior to finalizing  and printing to send to family members.
    I also thought that if I  saved it as a PDF, I could email the final version to family members who  possess computers. Thus, conserving energy, trees, money, etc. ;-)
    However,  when I upload the document (MS Publisher), the frames do not remain  stable and the document does not look like my original. Adobe Acrobat  does not seem to have a problem with the fonts that I am using, so maybe  it doesn't accept MS Publisher documents for conversion or the  images/graphics are too large.
    I am at a lost. I really need  your help.

    Hi Judy,
    Still not clear on what version of Acrobat you are using.
    Just a loose thought (get a lot of those...).
    Perhaps you could break out 'topics' into 4 to 6 page Publisher files.
    While doing so, look to optimize any images/graphics.
    That is to say, the main "deliverable" is online/on a local machine.
    So, images do not need to be more than 72 to, say, 96 ppi.
    For those who want "photopaper" calibre images, consider anyone of the online services that host full resolution photos.
    Folks can print from there or use a photo print service that many of the hosting services are hooked up with.
    Back to the 'topic" Publisher files.
    If smaller, optimized files yield PDFs with no significant issues then get them all into PDF.
    The 'topic' PDFs provide a foundation for providing several PDF deliverables.
    If you have Acrobat 9 Pro -
    For those with Adobe Reader/Acrobat 9.x consider a Portfolio.
    For those with earlier versions, combine the 'topic' PDFs into a single PDF.
    If you have Acrobat 8 Pro -
    You can create PDF "Packages"
    Output can be placed at acrobat.com.
    From there you can share (via a link).
    As to commenting - place your "masters" in their own directory.
    Make a copy of this directory.
    Process the PDFs in this copy for comment & review.
    E-mail reviews are handy; but, it may be worth some look-see at acrobat.com help to learn how to use it for the comment/review 'cycle'.
    You might find use of Buzzword helpful and the new addition of workspaces may be useful.
    So, for something such as what you are engaged in, acrobat.com may be useful.
    Be well...

  • Acrobat X pro do not convert docx to pdf

    I use a Windows 7 computer and installed Acrobat X pro. Recently I tried to convert a docx to pdf, but the list of compatible extension does not have Microsoft word. I wonder why it went missing. I was able to do this conversation before in this computer. Any ideas?

    Not sure what information you mean. The original message said "I use a Windows 7 computer and installed Acrobat X pro". That isn't $24. That isn't ExportPDF.
    The original message said " I tried to convert a docx to pdf". But you said you want to "convert to word".
    Sounds like you have a completely different problem and you just jumped into this one, which is not respectful to the original poster who we are trying to help.  Your rudeness does you no credit.

  • Convert HTML-Spool to PDF

    Hi experts,
    I'm looking for a possibility to conbvert a Spool-request to PDF fomrat.
    Following situation:
    I have a Web Dynpro that creates a page with a few material details. I can now export this to Excel, but now the requeiremt is also to convert it to PDF.
    We don't have ADS, so I can't use Adobe forms. First, I tried to create a Smartform and convert this to PDF which will work. But I have also a few pictures included which come from a Web Service (as JPG). After searchin a while I found a possibilty to convert them to TIF and insert them in SE78 automatically. But this takes to much time and as a result of insert them to SE78, the colors will change (only 256 colors).
    Next idea was to generate a HTML-Mail out of my Smartform (regaring this blog /people/pavan.bayyapu/blog/2005/08/30/sending-html-email-from-sap-crmerp) what works perfectly now.
    So now I have a Spool in SOST which contains a HTML file. OK, looks great, all pictures are included, takes not much time - but how to convert this to PDF?
    Anybody any ideas?

    Hi experts,
    after searching the whole forum and internet, I don't find any solution.
    Maybe the convertion from Spool to PDF is not possible...
    OK, another idea:
    I read that the wrong colors result from the different color depth (16/24 bit vs 256 colors). So my last idea is to convert the image before inserting into BDS (SE78), automatically done by SAP.
    Is there any function/coding you know which can convert me a image from 24bit to 256 colors? If so, I can convert the image and then insert into BDS...

  • Is it possible to convert a DWF to PDF using a command line or batch  process. How can I see this in action?

    I need to convert DWF files to PDF. Is this possible?  Adobe able to batch them and can they be converted via a batch or scheduled process.
    We have a team placing DWF files on a network drive.  Then we need to scoop them up and convert them. Using SSIS or a C# program we can move the converted files to an archive folder.  Is this possible to do using Adobe?

    Thanks for replying. I am converting from MS Office Word document to Adobe Acrobat Document and opening with Reader XI - sorry my mistake.
    I now notice another problem. On trying to open a specific hyperlink in the pdf version I get the message  'Acrobat does not allow connection to: www.biblegateway.com'.  Why would there be a restriction?

    I am having an issue converting .docx to pdf. I am using a custom page size in word 2007 and saving it, but when i convert to pdf it uses the default 8"/11" format. I have seen it done, but can't get it to work consistently. I am using acrobat 8 pro. Can anyone help?

    What OS? Have you tried to make a custom page size for the Acrobat PDF printer drive?

  • I am converting a .docx file to a pdf and the text is coming out blurry

    I am trying to convert a .docx file to a pdf and the text keeps coming out blurry. Some sentences seem to be bolded in the pdf as well. All the colored text seems like there's a shadow behind it and all the text in bold seems extra blurry. I am saving the file as a pdf. I tried to print the file as a pdf but it kept crashing. I have adobe acrobat pro and distiller, but I'm not savy about which program does what.
    Thanks for any help!

    If you are trying to convert a Word file, ensure the text is in 100% black only.
    To create PDF's there are hundreds of different combinations that can be used, but only a few will give you a good 'print ready' file, which is what I think you may be after.
    You may have font issues that are stopping the text looking sharp.
    If you have Distiller, you can try to print as .ps (save as postscript), load distiller up and choose one of the high quality settings in the pop down menu.
    If you are working on a Mac you can drag and drop the .ps file direcetly on the dock icon for distiller, or if you are running Windows you will need to navigate to the file via the menu bar (you will need to know where you have saved your .ps file).
    There may be other issues with the original file format that is causing problems with your PDF creation.
    Let me know how you get on.
    Cheers

  • Convert list item attachment from docx to pdf using Word Automation Services

    I have been trying to convert List Item attachments from docx to pdf using word automation services, it works in a normal document library but when I use the list attachment it throws a null reference error.
    var settings = new ConversionJobSettings();
    settings.OutputFormat = Microsoft.Office.Word.Server.Conversions.SaveFormat.PDF;
    var conversion = new ConversionJob("Word Automation Services", settings);
    conversion.UserToken = SPContext.Current.Site.UserToken;
    var wordFile = SPContext.Current.Site.RootWeb.Url + "/" + wordForm.Url;
    var pdfFile = wordFile.Replace(".docx", ".pdf");
    conversion.AddFile(wordFile, pdfFile);
    conversion.Start();
    Using reflector I was able to see my problem lies in Microsoft.Office.Word.Server.FolderIterator.cs where it uses SPFile.Item which returns NULL
    internal void CheckSingleItem(SPFile inputFile, SPFile outputFile)
    Microsoft.Office.Word.Server.Log.TraceTag(0x67337931, Microsoft.Office.Word.Server.Log.Category.ObjectModel, Microsoft.Office.Word.Server.Log.Level.Verbose, "OM: FolderIterator start a single item: source='{0}'; dest='{1}'", new object[] { inputFile.Url, outputFile.Url });
    Stopwatch stopwatch = Microsoft.Office.Word.Server.Log.StartPerfStopwatch();
    try
    this.CheckInputFile(inputFile.Item);
    this.CheckOutputFile(outputFile.Url);
    Is there any way to get around this?

    Hi Qfroth,
    According to your description, my understanding is that when you use word automation service to convert Word to PDF for list item attachment, it throws the null reference error.
    I suggest you can create an event receiver and convert the word to memory stream like below:
    private byte[] ConvertWordToPDF(SPFile spFile, SPUserToken usrToken)
    byte[] result = null;
    try
    using (Stream read = spFile.OpenBinaryStream())
    using (MemoryStream write = new MemoryStream())
    // Initialise Word Automation Service
    SyncConverter sc = new SyncConverter(WORD_AUTOMATION_SERVICE);
    sc.UserToken = usrToken;
    sc.Settings.UpdateFields = true;
    sc.Settings.OutputFormat = SaveFormat.PDF;
    // Convert to PDF
    ConversionItemInfo info = sc.Convert(read, write);
    if (info.Succeeded)
    result = write.ToArray();
    catch (Exception ex)
    // Do your error management here.
    return result;

  • Random bold text appears when converting docx to pdf

    I'm having a strange issue. When converting a .docx file to .pdf, Acrobat randomly makes words bold. In some instance an entire sentence becomes bold. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
    Thanks in advance!
    /Andreas

    Version 9.2
    However, by moving some tabs and margins within the word document, Acrobat suddenly recognized all the characters. Very strange!
    So, problem solved.
