Convert all URL text into links

How can Dreamwaever convert all URL text in a document into live links? It takes a very long time to convert them individually after copying a large text file full of links. There should be a command to find all hyperlinks and mail addresses and convet them quickly and easily. Or an extension like the one I had for GoLive. It saved me hours of time every week.

You could convert text URLs to hyperlinks with PHP and reg expressions.

In addition to Mike's suggestions, you only have 4GB of RAM and Mavericks does use more RAM than other versions. You may also want to look at the apps that startup on login and the possiblity of upgrading RAM.

I think you're confusing two different things. If you attached PDF files and one of them displayed the PDF icon in the message window, that means it was more than one page. If you saw what appeared to be the actual document for the other PDF file, that means it's only one page and it's normal for it to display that way.
However, I seem to recall there may (or should) be a button at the bottom-right of the message window that allows you to display those files as icons, even if they're one page. If not, there's a third-party addition you can use to add that feature:

You would have to use AEM Forms to take the XDP you designed and render the template as HTML5 for viewing on the iPad.

How can I extract all URL's into a list from 'mm_report' file?

I've Googled this with no luck; I have a 'mm_report' in xml format. It contains a lot of text that also includes approx 800 URL links I need to extract these URLs into a separate list. I've tried using a regular expression: href=\"([^\"]+) in 'Find and Replace' which successfully highlights the links but now need to know how to reverse this process so it deletes [strips] all surrounding text & only leaves me with a list of all URL's in this file.
Any advise, much appreciated.

Uploading my site to Adobe Business Catalyst and I noticed that it turns all my text into images? Why does it do that and is there a way to prevent it from happening?

I don't mind that Muse does this upon uploading my website, but once my text becomes an image on my site, it creates a light halo around my text making it fuzzy. Is there a way to prevent Muse from changing my text into images?

I believe you are using System fonts for the text in the site. I would suggest you to use either Web safe fonts or use self hosted font options.

Convert all-Flash site into html?

I have an all-flash site (www.CBRTA.org). For the benefit of
certain clients who won't install the Flash plugin, I have to
create a mirror html site. Does anyone know how I go about
converting an all-Flash site into html? And quickly? I have access
to Dreamweaver 8 and Flash 8.

Sorry... unless you've separated the content out already,
like into a
database, you're going to need to cut/paste etc... there's no
easy way if
the site is all inside of Flash.

ANNC: divaLINK - convert text into links, automatically

I am happy to announce the release of a new Extension for
Dreamweaver:
divaLINK. Using unobtrusive javascripting, it will convert
plain text
urls to hyperlinks, and (optionally) plain text email
addresses to
mailto: links, all on-the-fly in the browser.
I foresee two main applications for divaLINK:
1) Your client supplies you with pages of content which
contain plain
text urls and email addresses, and naturally wants them all
linked.
You've been doing this tedious task manually for years.
Haven't we all?
2) Your pages are dynamically driven (i.e. the content is
supplied by a
database) and you'd like the urls and email addresses within
it to be
real links. Up until now there was no way to accomplish this
on the
server side.
In addition to the automatic linking, options are offered to:
* add a subject to the mailto: link
* replace the visible email address with boilerplate text
* add "rel=nofollow" to the created <a> tag
* insert <wbr> tags to allow conditional wrapping of
long urls and
email addresses

How can I convert all .fm files into .mif files at one go?

I need to translate a FM12 book that contains 32 chapters = 32 .fm files. Is there any possibility to save all 32 files as .mif files at one go?
And: why does FM12 not remember the last directory I used for saving?

Hi Sabine,
You can do this with Mif2Go. MIF is not listed as output format on the web-site,
but nevertheless MIF is one of the output options. And Mif2Go is free.

How to convert relative url to absolute in URLPortlet?

Images and links don't work becase they are not getting filtered to absolute urls. <baseHRef> doesn't seem to do it. Isn't URLServices supposed to automatically convert all urls to absolute?

URL Services internal identifies relative URL and converts them into absolute URL's.
It uses <BASE HREF="URL"> if available, otherwise the uses <pageUrl> as base URL and constructs the absolute URL's.
Please post URL to which you facing problem, so that we can find fix this error.

you'll have to do that for each single object; depending on how many fields you have you may change your flat file or do that during start routine.
LOOP AT DATA_PACKAGE.
   TRANSLATE DATA_PACKAGE-FIELD1 TO UPPER CASE.
   TRANSLATE DATA_PACKAGE-FIELDN TO UPPER CASE.
   MODIFY DATA_PACKAGE.
ENDLOOP.

Photoshop - saves in grey but converts all greys to black?

I have created a document in photoshop, once saved everything looks fine in preview, but I have emailed the image and now it has converted all the grey into black? I have tried everything to get round this looking in CMYK RGB and everything is set correct? I have no clue what else I can do?

I down lowed the image from email to iPhone - shown as black - tried again with iPad - shown as black?
Did you stuff the image prior to mailing? I don't understand this part sorry

Applescript to edit several .pages files and make them have all bold text?

No very little about apple script but I would like to drop a bunch of .pages files on a script and convert all the text to bold

Obviously the bulk of the script is to create pdf files.
I just tried to piggy back onto that and BOLD everything.

IOS messages strips URL content from linked text sent from Messages Beta

My guess is that this is an unexpected edge case in the iOS version of Messages, where pre-Messages beta it didn't have to worry about link embedded in text. But when I copy a URL from an application such as Reeder or drag and drop a URL from the Safari URL field into Messages in pastes in with underlined text of the title of the page the link is for, with the embeded link. When this link is recieved on iOS devices just the text of the page title is recieved, rendered without the embeded link. Which let me tell you left my wife wondering what I was trying to say to her more than once. Maybe this will is already resolved in a version of Messages yet to be released for iOS devices.

Ralph, yes, I am not denying if you highlight the url and copy and paste it into the text field in messages, you definitely get the full url, and iOS handles this case properly as it recognizes the URL.
But if you click and hold on the favicon and drag away you get Blue text underlined like it was a clickable link, which it is. I did verify Firefox behaves the same way if you drag from the favicon.
If you send the link like that (embeded url) and the reciever is Messages beta on another Mac, or over AIM, likely Gtalk (jabber) as well it is handled properly as a clickable link. If the reciver is on an iOS device, iOS does not handle this properly and strips the embeded url in the link.

I know the workaround of copy and pasting the highlighted URL from the Safari URL field, but not all apps have this option, as I indicated Reeder for one when you are viewing an article there is a toolpar item to access several options for the article, one of them being copy URL - this must use the same method as Dragging and dropping from the Safari faviocn. Also many links that you bring up the contextual menu on in Safari and copy url end up pasting as embeded url links (Firefox does not do this). The workaround extends the workflow to open the article from a news feed in a browser, or click and load a link in Safari before the URL is exposed in the URL field before copy and pasting the url into messages, not very user friendly.
I hope this helps clarify the case.
